Compressed sensing (CS) is a promising method to speed up MRI. Because most clinical MRI scanners are equipped with multichannel receive systems, integrating CS with multichannel systems may not only shorten the scan time but also provide improved image quality. However, significant computation time is required to perform CS reconstruction, whose complexity is scaled by the number of channels. In this article, we propose a reconstruction procedure that uses ubiquitously available multicore central processing unit to accelerate CS reconstruction from multiple channel data. The experimental results show that the reconstruction efficiency benefits significantly from parallelizing the CS reconstructions and pipelining multichannel data into multicore processors. In our experiments, an additional speedup factor of 1.6–2.0 was achieved using the proposed method on a quad‐core central processing unit. The proposed method provides a straightforward way to accelerate CS reconstruction with multichannel data for parallel computation. Magn Reson Med, 2010. © 2010 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.  相似文献

Modern healthcare institutions are faced with an environment that is rapidly changing. Many imposed changes have repercussions that affect lower-level radiology managers. According to one expert, radiology administrators face two dilemmas in preparing for the future: upgrading skills of those currently employed and ensuring that future employees are prepared to succeed. This paper examines the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for entry-level managers in radiology to succeed in healthcare. In order to gain current information on processes used in promoting staff technologists to management positions, the authors developed and mailed a questionnaire to 35 radiology administrators across the country. In addition to promoting employees, organizations should take a role in the maintenance and growth of an employee's career by creating realistic career paths for advancement, including programs in mentoring, assessment centers or formal training in the art of interviewing candidates. In order for entry-level radiology managers to succeed in a complex healthcare environment, mere technical expertise is not sufficient. The responsibility for identifying and providing appropriate education and training lies with employers, educational programs, professional groups and the employee.  相似文献

The challenge of interpreting post-mortem drug concentrations is well documented and relies on appropriate sample collection, knowledge of case circumstances as well as reference to published tables of data, whilst taking into account the known issues of post-mortem drug redistribution and tolerance. Existing published data has evolved from simple data tables to those now including sample origin and single to poly drug use, but additional information tends to be specific to those reported in individual case studies. We have developed a Bayesian network framework to assign a likelihood of fatality based on the contribution of drug concentrations whilst taking into account the pathological findings. This expert system has been tested against casework within the coronial jurisdiction of Sunderland, UK. We demonstrate in this pilot study that the Bayesian network can be used to proffer a degree of confidence in how deaths may be reported in cases when drugs are implicated. It has also highlighted the potential for deaths to be reported according to the pathological states at post-mortem when drugs have a significant contribution that may have an impact on mortality statistics. The Bayesian network could be used as complementary approach to assist in the interpretation of post-mortem drug concentrations.  相似文献
