To study the mechanism of plasma endothelin (pET) increment in chronic renal failure (CRF) patients, we investigated 20 CRF cases given hemoultrafiltration for 90 min followed by hemodialysis and 12 given hemodialysis only to examine the effect on ET. The results revealed that 90-min ultrafiltration with 2 500ml fluid extraction significantly decreased plasma ET (1 132 +/- 793--753 +/- 702 pg/ml, P less than 0.05), while hemodialysis without water extraction for the same period of time resulted in no significant change (1 195 +/- 891--1 011 +/- 654pg/ml, P greater than 0.05). BUN in the ultrafiltration group showed no marked changes (102 +/- 11.4--83.5 +/- 119 mg/dl), but the hemodialysis group presented a significant decrease (97 +/- 12--63 +/- 7 mg/dl, P less than 0.05), showing that the ET fall had no significant relevance to the metabolic products extracted. In 120 min following hemodialysis, ET levels in both groups decreased by different amounts. MAP decreased in both groups throughout the procedure period. Therefore, it is suggested that decreased extracellular volume via ultrafiltration can lead to lowering of ET levels, showing that extracellular volume may influence the ET level.

目的 :探讨血浆内皮素 (ET)、降钙素基因相关肽 (CGRP)在先天性心脏病伴肺动脉高压围术期的调控作用。方法 :采用放射免疫法动态测定 组 (轻度肺高压 )、 组 (中重度肺高压 )共 33例左向右分流先心病伴肺高压患儿血浆 ET、CGRP值。结果 :血浆 ET术前两组均增高 ,且 组明显高于 组 [(138± 2 5 vs 77± 19) pg/ ml,P<0 .0 1],体外循环 (CPB)术后 组较术前升高 (P<0 .0 0 1) ,1d后下降到术前水平 (P>0 .0 5 ) , 组 3d后才呈现下降 (P<0 .0 5 ) ;血浆 CGRP 、 组术后 1d显著升高 [(187± 131、330± 187) pg/ ml],术后 3d下降 [(88± 85、15 0±95 ) pg/ ml]。结论 :血浆 ET和 CGRP参与了先心病肺高压的形成过程 ,并与肺高压的程度有一定关系。CPB术后血浆 ET和 CGRP的失衡可能影响手术预后。  相似文献

目的:观察甘油所致急性肾功能衰竭(ARF)大鼠血浆降钙素基因相关肽(CGRP)、一氧化氮(NO)和内皮素(ET)的变化及钙通道阻滞剂(CCB)氨氯地平对其的影响。方法:检测正常和甘油所致ARF大鼠不同时间血浆CGRP、ET和血清NO水平的变化,并观察应用氨氯地平对肾脏功能及血浆CGRP,ET和血清NO的影响。结果:甘油所致ARF大鼠血浆CGRP、NO水平明显降低(P<0.01,P<0.05);血浆ET明显升高(P<0.05),氨氯地平治疗组肾损害减轻(P<0.05),CGRP、NO显著升高(P<0.01,P<0.05)而ET明显降低(P<0.05)。结论:CGRP、NO的降低和ET的升高可能参与甘油所致ARF的形成和进展,氨氯地平对肾脏功能保护作用可能与其升高CGRP、NO和降低ET有关。  相似文献

目的研究雌激素对雌鼠肺血管内皮细胞功能及血管内皮细胞粘附分子-1(VCAM-1)表达的调节。方法(1)雌性SD大鼠24只分为假手术组、去势组、治疗组,采用放射免疫法检测血清中内皮素、前列环素的含量,铜-镉还原法测定血清中一氧化氮的产量。放射配体结合法检测肺血管内皮细胞中雌激素受体含量。(2)正常雌鼠肺培养的第2代血管内皮细胞,按不同浓度17-β雌二醇(17-βE2)分为A组(对照)、B组(3×10-8mol/L17-βE2)、C组(3×10-7mol/L17-βE2);D组(3×10-6mol/L17-βE2)、E组(3×10-6mol/L17-βE2+3×10-6mol/L他莫西芬)处理48h,白细胞介素-1β作用后流式细胞仪分别检测各组VCAM-1表达量。结果(1)去势组雌鼠血中一氧化氮(18μmol/L±8μmol/L)、前列环素(8.5pg/ml±2.5pg/ml)均降低,治疗组二者水平明显升高(31μmol/L±7μmol/L,P<0.05;10.9pg/ml±3.4pg/ml),而内皮素含量变化则相反(170pg/ml±39pg/ml;100pg/ml±32pg/ml,P<0.05)。(2)去势组雌鼠血管内皮细胞中雌激素受体含量(fmol/106cell)显著降低(6.7±0.5),治疗组雌激素受体含量维持在高水平(17.6±1.2,P<0.01)。(3)白细胞介素-1β作用后A组表达VCAM-1细胞百分率明显增高(17.5%±1.5%),B、C、D组表达VCAM-1细胞百分率显著降低(15.4%±1.42%、12.4%±0.34%、8.7%±0.27%,P<0.01)。结论雌激素水平可明显影响雌鼠血管内皮细胞内皮素、一氧化氮、前列环素的分泌,并可影响雌鼠血管内皮细胞中雌激素受体含量。雌二醇均可降低白细胞介素-1β诱发的雌鼠血管内皮细胞VCAM-1表达增高。  相似文献

目的 探讨大鼠慢性肾功能衰竭 (CRF)动物模型的下丘脑组织和血浆食欲素A及神经肽Y(NPY)水平的变化及其意义。方法 将 41只 2 0 0~ 2 50 g雄性Wister大鼠分为 :正常组、假手术组和CRF组。术后 4、 8、 1 2周分批断头处死大鼠 ,取血浆和下丘脑组织标本。用放射免疫法测定血浆和下丘脑组织食欲素A和NPY。用生化自动分析仪测定血清肌酐。结果 CRF大鼠术后4、 8和 1 2周血肌酐水平均高于假手术组。其术后 1 2周的血浆食欲素A水平高于假手术组 (2 64pg/ml± 62pg/mlvs 1 83pg/ml± 56pg/ml,P =0 0 39)。CRF大鼠术后 1 2周的下丘脑食欲素A水平明显低于假手术组 (1 0 5fmol/mg± 2 7fmol/mg湿重vs 1 7 4fmol/mg± 3 9fmol/mg湿重 ,P =0 0 2 3)。CRF大鼠术后 8周 (7 1 pmol/ml± 1 7pmol/mlvs 5 0 pmol/ml± 0 5pmol/ml,P =0 0 1 )和1 2周 (7 9pmol/ml± 1 1pmol/mlvs 4 8pmol/ml± 1 1 pmol/ml,P =0 0 0 0 8)的血浆神经肽Y水平高于假手术组 ,其术后 1 2周的下丘脑神经肽Y水平明显低于假手术组 (70fmol/mg± 2 3fmol/mgvs1 1 3fmol/mg± 31fmol/mg湿重 ,P =0 0 33)。 结论  (1 )CRF大鼠血浆食欲素A和NPY水平有逐渐增高趋势 ,肾功能减退可能导致食欲素A和NPY排泄障碍。 (2 )CRF时下丘脑组织食欲素  相似文献

The plasma endothelin (ET) level in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) and 2K1C hypertension animal models and its vasoconstrictive effect on renal and tail arteries were studied. The results demonstrated that there was no difference in plasma ET level between the hypertensive groups SHR, 2K1C, normotensive control groups Wistar Kyot (WKY) and Sprague Dawley (SD), while the vasoconstrictive effect of ET in SHR was more dominant than in WKY. The EC50 of the renal and tail arteries in SHR (0.8912 +/- 0.1662 x 10(-8) M, 0.6103 +/- 0.0878 x 10(-8) M) was apparently lower than that in WKY (1.77 +/- 0.2991 x 10(-8) M, 1.2267 +/- 0.2502 x 10(-8) M, P less than 0.05), but no difference was found in 2K1C and SD rats. The four groups of animals exhibited no difference of such effects as response to norepine-phrine (NA). The findings suggested that the increased arteriole sensitivity to ET be an important factor in the pathogenesis of hypertension in SHR.

用特异性放免法测定33例高血压患者血浆甘丙素(GAL)水平,结果显示高血压患者的血浆GAL水平(19.57±1.74pg/ml),明显高于对照组(9.36±0.94pg/ml,P<0.001),GAL与MAP呈正相关(P<0.05),GAL与内皮素(ET)呈正相关(P<0.01).自发性高血压大鼠(SHR)血浆GAL水平亦明显高于正常大鼠(P<0.01),GAL与MAP亦呈正相关(P<0.05),提示GAL是高血压的重要发病因素之一,体内多种多肽活性物质的增加,可能促进了高血压的发生与发展.  相似文献

观察不同剂量甘露醇对兔肾脏功能,肾血流量及一氧化氮(NO)生成的影响,探讨甘露醇诱导急性肾功能衰竭(ARF)的可能机制,18只健康新西兰大白兔随机分为三组,分别给予小剂量甘露醇,生理盐水,大剂量甘露醇并自由饮水,观察肾脏功能,肾血流量及血和尿中NO代谢终产物NO2^-/NO3^-的变化,小剂量甘露醇组肾功能,肾血流量及血NO2^-/NO3^-与对照组比较差异均不显著(P>0.05),而大剂量并自由饮水组肾功能,肾血流量明显下降,血NO2^-/NO3^-明显上升,与对照组及小剂量组比较差异有显著性(P>0.05)。三组间尿NO2^-/ NO3^-排泄速率差异无显著性(P>0.05),提示大剂量甘露醇诱导急性肾功能衰竭与其明显降低肾血流量有关,而内皮衍内舒张因子(EDRF)生成似有代偿性增高。  相似文献

目的:利用甘露醇(mannitol)诱导急性肾功能衰竭动物模型,观察不同剂量甘露醇对血管活性物质的影响,探讨甘露醇诱导急性肾功能衰竭(ARF)的可能机制.方法:将18只健康新西兰大白兔随机分为3组,分别给予小剂量甘露醇(n=6, 2 h内给予甘露醇)、生理盐水(n=6, 2 h内给予相同溶积生理盐水)、大剂量甘露醇并自由饮水(n=6; 3 d内给予甘露醇40~60 g/kg),观察用药后血中肾素、血管紧张素、内皮素及心钠素浓度的变化.结果:小剂量甘露醇组用药后的血浆肾素、血管紧张素Ⅰ、血管紧张素Ⅱ、内皮素及心钠素浓度与对照组比较差异不明显(P>0.05);而大剂量并自由饮水组血浆肾素、血管紧张素Ⅰ、血管紧张素Ⅱ浓度明显高于对照组及小剂量组;血浆内皮素浓度明显低于对照组(P<0.05),但与小剂量组比较差异不显著;大剂量并自由饮水组血浆心钠素浓度与对照组及小剂量组比较差异无统计学意义(P>0.05).结论:大剂量甘露醇可能通过影响肾素-血管紧张素系统(RAS),进一步降低肾血流量,参与诱导急性肾功能衰竭,但对血管内皮细胞的损伤并不明显.  相似文献

目的探讨胆道感染及肝胆肿瘤患者外周血、胆汁中内皮素(ET)及降钙素基因相关肽(CGRP)浓度变化的意义.方法采用放射免疫分析检测120例肝胆道感染和肝胆肿瘤患者外周血、胆汁中ET、CGRP的浓度.结果肝胆感染患者外周血中ET、CGRP的质量浓度分别为(56.85±16.54)pg/ml和(96.34±20.05)pg/ml;肝胆肿瘤组的ET、CGRP的值分别为(107.35±14.44)pg/ml和(36.37±14.79)pg/ml,与对照组ET及CGRP的值(42.88±11.96)pg/ml、(24.04±17.45)pg/ml比较差异有显著性(P<0.01),肝胆道感染及肿瘤患者胆汁中ET值为(61.36±13.72)pg/ml、(71.38±16.27)pg/ml,CGRP值为(250.07±43.19)pg/ml、(198.71±35.68)pg/ml,与对照组的ET、CGRP值[(18.56±7.40)pg/ml,(165.36±28.07)pg/ml]比较差异有显著性(P<0.01).结论ET、CGRP参与了肝胆感染及肝胆肿瘤疾病发病过程,其作用机制尚需深入研究.  相似文献

The plasma endothelin (ET) level in SHR and 2K1C hypertension animal models and its vasoconstrictive effect in their renal and tail arteries were studied. The results demonstrated that there was no difference of plasma ET level between the hypertensive groups SHR, 2K1C and the normotensive control groups WKY and SD, while the vasoconstrictive effect of ET in SHR was were more predominant than that in WKY. The EC50 of the renal and tail arteries in SHR (0.8912 +/- 0.4398 x 10(-8) M, 0.6103 +/- 0.2633 x 10(-8) M) were apparently lower than those in WKY (1.711 +/- 0.7327 x 10(-8) M, 1.2667 +/- 0.6129 x 10(-8) M, (P less than 0.05); but there was no difference between 2K1C and SD rats. The four groups of animals mentioned above exhibited no differences of such effects in response to norepinephrine (NA). The results suggested that the increased arteriole sensitivity to ET was an important factor in the pathogenesis of hypertension in SHR.  相似文献

目的 了解体外循环(CPB)期间血浆内皮素(ET)、房钠利尿多肽(ANP)与血流动力学指标变化及其相互之间的关系。方法 用放射免疫法测定16例心脏瓣膜置换手术病人的术前及CPB期间血浆内皮素、房钠利尿多肽水平。结果 诱导前血浆ET为(2.68±1.8)pg/ml,与对照组[(2.22±0.7)pg/ml]相比无显著差异(P>0.05),而血浆ANP为(738±559)pg/ml,明显高于对照组[(72.7±14.5)pg/ml,P<0.001]。CPB期间血浆ET无明显变化,而血浆ANP在体外循环初期明显下降,停CPB时恢复至CPB前水平。CPB期间及停CPB时SVRI明显降低,血球压积(Hct)与血管阻力指数(SVRI)关系密切。结论 CPB期间血浆ET无明显变化,而血浆ANP下降为血液稀释所致,SVRI降低主要在于血液稀释。  相似文献

Objectives To determine the pre-therapeutic serum level of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and to elucidate the relation between the serum level and clinical characteristics and metastasis of HCC. Methods One-hundred and fifteen HCC patients, 40 patients with benign liver lesions, and 30 healthy control subjects were included in this study. The serum VEGF level was measured with the quantitative sandwich enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA, R&amp;D systems). Results The serum VEGF levels in the HCC group (465.62±336.24 pg/ml) was significantly elevated as compared with those in patients with benign liver lesions (159.54±120.58 pg/ml) and those in normal controls (123.53±51.84 pg/ml). The VEGF levels were not significantly different between the patients with benign liver lesions and the normal controls. The serum VEGF concentration showed a positive rate of 77.4%, 25%, and 3.3% in the HCC patients, benign liver lesion patients and normal controls, respectively. In the 115 HCC patients, the serum VEGF levels in patients with portal vein (PV) emboli (n=26, 582.76±441.89 pg/ml), with metastasis (n=43, 548.29±438.57 pg/ml) or with large HCC lesions (≥5 cm in diameter) (n=69, 554.43±369.99 pg/ml) were significantly higher than those without PV-emboli (n=89, 431.39±292.84 pg/ml), without metastasis (n=72, 416.24±247.27 pg/ml) or with small HCC lesions (n=42, 328.67±227.47 pg/ml). The serum VEGF levels in stage Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳa and Ⅳb HCC patients were 340.6 pg/ml, 451.55±307.84 pg/ml, 397.44±257.18 pg/ml, 486.10±397.73 pg/ml and 647.93±344.56 pg/ml, respectively. Conclusion The pre-therapeutic serum VEGF levels in HCC patients appear to reflect the disease’s potential activity of vascular invasion and metastasis.  相似文献

目的 :通过建立兔髂动脉粥样硬化 (AS)模型 ,观察球囊血管成形术 (BA )对血浆肿瘤坏死因子α(TNF-α)、内皮素(ET)水平及局部血管组织 ET免疫反应性 (ET- IR)的影响。 方法 :2 0只新西兰雄性大白兔经高脂饲料喂养至少 8周造成AS,然后进行髂动脉 BA ,18只兔获得成功。检测了 BA前、即刻及 2 4h后血浆 ET和 TNF-α水平 ,ET采用放射免疫法测定 ,TNF-α采用生物活性法测定。同时 ,应用免疫组织化学技术评价血管组织 ET- IR。 结果 :BA前后即刻 :血浆 ET水平 (pg/ml)分别为 76 .4± 13.5 8和 92 .6 7± 11.38(P<0 .0 5 ) ;2 4h后恢复至扩张前水平 77.13± 12 .87(P>0 .0 5 ) ;而血浆 TNF-α水平 (U /m l)分别为 31.35± 6 .2 3和 5 6 .2 6± 7.37(P<0 .0 5 )。 2 4h后血浆 TNF-α水平 (33.41± 6 .79)与扩张前相比无明显差异(P>0 .0 5 )。BA后局部髂动脉血管壁 ET- IR较未经 BA的髂动脉明显增加。结论 :BA后血浆 ET、TNF-α水平升高及局部血管壁 ET- IR增加可能与局部血管内膜损伤有关 ,提示 ET、TNF-α可能参与了 PTCA后急性冠脉收缩及再狭窄过程  相似文献

本组测定29例生长落后儿童的血浆内皮素(ET)水平,生长落后儿童以左旋多巴和胰岛素-低血糖两种生长激素(GH)激发试验结果分为GH缺乏组和GH正常组。结果显示:GH缺乏组儿童血浆ET水平为40.07±20.79pg/ml,GH正常组为39.91±17.5pg/ml,二组均明显低于正常儿童组(56.85±13.03pg/ml)(P<0.05),此一现象提示GH对ET的产生可能有促进作用。  相似文献

目的:研究纳洛酮对血管性痴呆大鼠血浆内皮素( ET)的影响。方法:采用双侧颈总动脉永久结扎方法制备血管性痴呆大鼠。大鼠随机分为三组:假手术对照组,血管性痴呆组,血管性痴呆纳洛酮治疗组(每天0 .8mg/kg纳洛酮腹腔注射,连续7d)。采用非平衡放射免疫法测定大鼠血浆内皮素水平。结果:痴呆组大鼠血浆ET水平( 1 34.77±2 0 .76pg/ml)比假手术组( 74.83±1 4.74pg/ml)显著升高( P<0 .0 1 ) ,纳洛酮组大鼠ET水平( 1 0 2 .61±2 8.5 3pg/ml)虽然也明显高于假手术组( P<0 .0 5 ) ,但比痴呆组大鼠显著降低( P<0 .0 5 )。结论:纳洛酮能够通过降低血管性痴呆大鼠升高的血浆内皮素水平,减轻脑血管过度收缩  相似文献

目的 探讨异丙酚对大鼠血流动力学和血浆一氧化氮 (NO)、内皮素 (ET)、前列环素 (PGI2 )、血栓素A2 (TXA2 )的影响。 方法  12~ 14周 Wistar大鼠 2 4只 ,随机分为 3组 ,每组 8只。 A组 (对照组 ,注射 0 .9%生理盐水 ) ;B组 (低剂量异丙酚 )和 C组 (高剂量异丙酚 )静注异丙酚 5 mg/ kg诱导麻醉后分别静脉持续 30 min注入异丙酚 30 ,6 0 mg· kg- 1 · h- 1 ,总容量均相同。记录不同时间的收缩压 (SBP)、平均动脉压 (MAP)、舒张压 (DBP)、心率 (HR)及呼吸 ,测定血浆 NO、ET、PGI2 、TXA2 的含量。 结果  (1)血流动力学改变 :组内比较 ,B组血压、心率变化不显著 (P>0 .0 5 ) ;C组随时间的延长 ,SBP、MAP、DBP、HR均下降 ,尤以 30 min为著 (P<0 .0 5或 P<0 .0 1)。组间与 A组比较 :各组基础值无差异 ;B组仅在 2 min、10 m in时 HR下降 (P<0 .0 5 ) ;而 C组 SBP、MAP、DBP、HR均下降 (P<0 .0 5或 P<0 .0 1) ,且 HR随时间的延长与 A组的差异明显增加 ,30 m in时 P<0 .0 0 1。 (2 )两组血浆中NO、PGI2 增高 ,ET、TXA2 下降 ,NO/ ET及 PGI2 / TXA2 的比例增高 ,C组改变显著。 结论 异丙酚呈时间剂量依赖性降低血压减慢心率 ;促进 NO、PGI2 的释放 ,抑制 ET、TXA2 的释放。NO/ ET,PGI2 / TXA2 的失衡与异  相似文献

目的探讨先天性心脏病(CHD)合并肺动脉高压(PH)患者手术前后血浆肾上腺髓质素(ADM)及尾加压素Ⅱ(UⅡ)变化的临床意义。方法将52例患者按肺动脉收缩压分为3组:无PH组(<30 mm Hg)17例,轻度PH组(30~49 mm Hg)18例,中重度PH组(≥50 mm Hg)17例。测定3组术前、术后即刻及术后7 d ADM及UⅡ含量,并比较手术前后的变化;分析两者及其与肺动脉压(PAP)间的相互关系。结果(1)3组患者肺动脉压(PAP)与血浆ADM浓度呈正相关(术前r=0.8012,P<0.01;术后即刻r=0.6325,P<0.01;术后7 dr=0.7126,P<0.01)。(2)3组患者UⅡ浓度则与PAP无相关性(均P>0.05)。(3)无PH组术前ADM浓度为33 pg/m l±5 pg/m l、术后即刻为29 pg/m l±4 pg/m l、术后7 d为20 pg/m l±3 pg/m l;轻度PH组术前ADM浓度为44 pg/m l±8 pg/m l、术后即刻40 pg/m l±6 pg/m l、术后7 d为34 pg/m l±4 pg/m l;中重度PH组术前ADM浓度为60 pg/m l±10 pg/m l、术后即刻58 pg/m l±8 pg/m l、术后7 d为38 pg/m l±4 pg/m l。各组术后ADM浓度呈下降趋势,但只有术后7 d与术前比较差异有统计学意义(无PH组q=5.41,P<0.01;轻度PH组q=4.76,P<0.01;中重度PH组q=6.32,P<0.01)。(4)无PH组术前UⅡ浓度为2.2 pmol/L±0.5pmol/L、术后即刻为2.2 pmol/L±0.44 pmol/L、术后7 d为2.2 pmol/L±0.6 pmol/L;轻度PH组术前UⅡ浓度为2.7 pmol/L±0.6 pmol/L、术后即刻2.6 pmol/L±0.6 pmol/L、术后7 d为2.6 pmol/L±0.5pmol/L;中重度PH组术前UⅡ浓度为2.9 pmol/L±0.6 pmol/L、术后即刻2.6 pmol/L±0.7 pmol/L、术后7 d为2.8 pmol/L±0.4 pmol/L。3组患者手术前后UⅡ浓度差异无统计学意义(均P>0.05)。结论(1)ADM在PH形成和血管重建中发挥重要的作用。(2)UⅡ与PAP无相关性,但是不能排除UⅡ在PH形成和血管重建中有重要的作用。(3)血浆ADM水平可作为判断PH严重程度的指标之一。  相似文献

来研究观察PTCA后股动脉血ET浓度的变化以探讨PTCA对ET释放的影响。14例行PTCA患者分别于术前、术后即刻及术后1小时取股动脉血,20例单纯行冠状动脉造影(CAG)的患者分别于术前及术后即刻取股动脉血,用放射免疫分析法测血浆ET浓度。结果:PTCA术后早期股动脉血ET水平明显升高(从69.87±31.74pg/ml到79.09±31.18pg/ml,P<0.05),术后1小时继续升高(83.65±39.69pg/ml)。术后血ET浓度升高值与球囊扩张后直径比被扩张动脉直径之比(B/A)呈正相关(R=0.589,P<0.05)。CAG术后血浆ET浓度较术前无变化(分别为59.36±22.57pg/ml和54.20±18.70pg/m1,P>0.05)。结论:PTCA使循环ET水平升高,内皮损伤可能是引起ET释放和合成的主要因素。  相似文献

Using radioimmunoassay (RIA) concentrations of immunoreactive TRH (TRH-ir) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma were determined after acute head injury in 29 patients. The results showed that the concentrations of TRH-ir (pmol/L) in CSF and plasma on the days when injuries were sustained were 29.25 +/- 8.92 pg/ml and 30.29 +/- 8.26 (1 pg/ml = 2.8 pmol/L) in mildly (n = 12), 57.78 +/- 11.72 and 65.27 +/- 8.57 in moderately (n = 9), and 70.09 +/- 7.58 and 85.65 +/- 7.92 in severely (n = 8), head-injured patients. While the concentrations of TRH-ir in CSF and plasma were 25.11 +/- 11.85 and 27.90 +/- 11.39 in the control group (n = 10). Dynamic observations revealed that the contents of TRH-ir in CSF and plasma were gradually recovered to their control levels when improvement of the head-injured patients took place. But they were significantly decreased and became much lower than the control levels in patients with poor prognosis. These results suggest that the assay of TRH-ir in CSF and plasma has clinical significance in reflecting the severity and prognosis of acute head-injured patients.
