Statiscally significant evidence of selective interaction between noradrenalin and cyclic AMP and also between acetylcholine and cyclic GMP was found by microiontophoretic application of the cyclic purine nucleotides and mediators to neurons of the rabbit cerebral cortex. These investigations of interrelations of cyclic AMP and cyclic GMP at the single unit level yielded facts suggesting their functional interaction with other systems of intracellular regulators at several different levels.Laboratory of Molecular Neurophysiology and Biochemistry, P. The concentration of prostaglandins (PG) and cyclic nucleotides was determined in the rat heart at different times after coarctation of the abdominal aorta. The animals were divided into three types depending on the rate of development and degree of hypertrophy. Rats best adapted to pressure overloading of the heart (with the greatest degree of hypertrophy) had the highest PG level in the myocardium. Correlation was found between the increase in weight of the heart and the PGE/PGF2 ratio. A connection was demonstrated between PG and cyclic nucleotides in the myocardium in the course of its adaptation to pressure overloading. It is suggested that PG may be an important component of the system of adaptation of the heart to pressure overloading.All-Union Cardiologic Scientific Center, Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, Moscow. Carotid glomectomy in rats reduced daily water consumption and increased daily consumption of NaCl solution. Sham operation did not modify water and salt consumption. Intraperitoneal injection of angiotensin-II did not stimulate drinking motivation in the majority of rats subjected to carotid glomectomy. Injection of angiotensin-II to sham-operated and intact animals induced active consumption of both fluids during one hour. These results attest to the involvement of the carotid body in the regulation of consumption of water and sodium ions (the main elements of osmotic blood pressure) and the involvement of angiotensin-sensitive receptors of carotid body cells in the formation of thirst and salt appetite motivation, regulated by the renin-angiotensin system.Translated from Byulleten Eksperimentalnoi Biologii i Meditsiny, Vol. 138, No. 11, pp. 493–495, November, 2004 相似文献

Changes in the content of cyclic nucleotides (cyclic AMP and cyclic GMP) in wound tissues (muscle and granulation tissue) were investigated in rats. The experimental model was a wound with a skin defect in the dorsal region with pulping of the underlying muscle. The cyclic AMP level in muscle tissue was shown to rise to two peaks: on the first day and more especially on the 7th day. The cyclic GMP content rose a little on the 1st–4th days, fell on the 7th day, and rose again until the 14th day. The cyclic AMP concentration in granulation tissue followed a similar course to that in the muscle tissue: a rise on the 7th day and a fall on the 14th day. On the other hand, the curve of the cyclic GMP content in the granulation was more uniform. Only a small increase toward the 7th day was observed.A. V.
