From January to December 1994, 752 consecutive patients admitted to intensive care units (ICU) for more than two days were studied prospectively forStaphylococcus aureus colonization and infection. Nasal swabs were obtained at admission and weekly during the ICU stay. At ICU admission 166 patients (22.1%) wereStaphylococcus aureus nasal carriers, while 586 were free of nasal colonization. Of the 166 nasal carriers, 163 harbored methicillin-sensitiveStaphylococcus aureus (MSSA) and three methicillinresistantStaphylococcus aureus (MRSA). During the ICU stay 24 of the 586 noncolonized patients became nasal carriers (11 MSSA and 13 MRSA), and one nasal carrier initially colonized by MSSA was recolonized by MRSA. Staphylococcal infections were documented in 51 (6.8%) of the total 752 patients. After 14 days of ICU stay, the probability of developing staphylococcal infections was significantly higher for those patients who were nasal carriers at ICU admission than for those found to be initially negative (relative risk 59.6, 95% Cl 20.37–184.32; p<0.0001). In patients with ICU-acquired nasal colonization, most infections were documented prior to or at the time of the detection of the nasal colonization; thus, in this group of patients nasal carriage showed a lower predictive value for subsequentStaphylococcus aureus infections than that described classically. Paired isolates of nasal colonizing and clinical strains were studied by pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) andmecA polymorphism analysis in 30 patients; identity was demonstrated in all but two patients. The results suggest that, outside the setting of an outbreak of MRSA, the detection ofStaphylococcus aureus nasal carriers on admission may be particularly useful in identifying those patients who are at high risk for developing staphylococcal infections during their ICU stay.  相似文献

Nosocomial infections with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) account for increased morbidity, mortality and healthcare costs in critically ill patients worldwide. The intensive care unit (ICU) component of the German surveillance system for nosocomial infections (Krankenhaus-Infektions-Surveillance-System, KISS) has been supplemented with a module targeting the surveillance of multiresistant pathogens [Multiresistente Erreger (MRE)-KISS] in order to account for the increasing burden of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The aim of this study was to assess the association between structural and organizational characteristics of ICUs and the number of nosocomial MRSA cases. Data were derived from routine data collected in the frame of the national surveillance system of nosocomial infections (ICU- and MRE-KISS) from January 2007 to December 2008 and from a questionnaire inquiring about structure and process parameters. One hundred and forty ICUs performing active screening have been included. Process parameters such as isolation of MRSA patients, decolonization procedures and introduction of MRSA alert systems have been implemented by the majority of the ICUs, whereas the application mode of screening procedures and pre-emptive isolation measures is heterogeneous. Multivariable analysis using negative binominal regression models shows that a stay on a medical ICU has a protective effect (incidence rate ratio, 0.42; 95% confidence interval, 0.24–0.74; p = 0.003), whereas the imported MRSA incidence is significantly associated with the number of nosocomial MRSA cases (incidence rate ratio, 1.74; 95% confidence interval, 1.23–2.45; p = 0.002). Structure and process parameters do not show any effect. ICU type and imported MRSA incidence should be considered for benchmarking between hospitals.  相似文献

This study was designed to assess the frequency and risk factors for colonization with MRSA and A. baumanii in the intensive care unit, and to analyse the relationship between colonization and infection with MRSA or A. baumanii. During a 24-day survey period, colonization was studied weekly with nasal, throat and digit skin swabs; nosocomial infections were routinely monitored according to CDC recommendations. Clinical data and invasive procedures were registered during a one-year non-epidemic period; 103 ICU patients hospitalized for more than 7 days were prospectively included. We investigated acquired colonization and nosocomial infection with SAMR or A. baumanii for 87 patients not colonized by SAMR or A. baumanii on admission. The colonization acquisition rate was 56% for MRSA and 27% for A. baumanii. Infection incidence (cases per 1,000 patient-days) was 6.46 for MRSA and 1.61 for A. baumanii. On univariate analysis, acquired MRSA colonization was associated with longer ICU stays, longer mechanical ventilation and longer central venous catheterization. Multivariate analysis only showed an association with longer ICU stay. Acquired A. baumanii colonization was associated with SAPSII, longer mechanical ventilation, and longer central venous catheterization in univariate analysis. Multivariate analysis only showed an association with SAPSII and longer mechanical ventilation. In this study, SAMR or A. baumanii infections were not associated with colonization or clinical setting or invasive procedures.  相似文献

The number of patients with community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) has increased rapidly in Copenhagen, Denmark since 2003. Patients with the typical Panton–Valentine leukocidin-positive CA-MRSA clone ST30-IVc were contacted with the aim of treating MRSA carriers, evaluating the effect of MRSA eradication therapy (ET), and finding links among patients. Twenty-three index patients infected with the ST30-IVc clone from November 2003 to September 2005 were contacted and transmission chains were studied. The majority of ST30-IVc patients had a connection to the Philippines. Household members were screened for MRSA and all members of families with MRSA carriers were offered treatment of the carrier state and were followed for 1 year. MRSA carriers were found in seven of 16 households and transmission occurred among close contacts and in kindergartens. Five days of ET was insufficient and at least one person in each household was treated with systemic antibiotics. All families were MRSA negative at 1-year follow-up. The CA-MRSA clone ST30-IVc has been imported to Copenhagen, Denmark, primarily from the Philippines, and has spread through close contacts and in kindergartens. Treatment of MRSA carriers was difficult and required many resources, but the clone was eventually successfully eliminated. The import of ST30-IVc to Denmark will continue, but the spread of the clone in Denmark can be kept to a minimum by direct intervention in the affected families.  相似文献

Carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae (CRKP) has emerged during recent years in several intensive care units. The objective of our study was to determine the incidence of CRKP and the risk factors associated with acquisition during intensive care unit (ICU) stay. This prospective cohort study was conducted between May 2007 and April 2008 in a medical-surgical ICU at a tertiary medical center. Rectal surveillance cultures were obtained from patients on admission and twice weekly. Of screened patients, 7.0% (21/299) were CRKP colonized on admission to the ICU. One hundred eighty (81%) patients were screened at least twice. Of these, 48 (27%) patients acquired CRKP during ICU stay. Of the 69 CRKP colonized patients (both imported and ICU acquired), 29% (20/69) were first identified by microbiologic cultures, while screening cultures identified 49 patients (71%). Of these, 23 (47%) subsequently developed clinical microbiological cultures. Independent risk factors for CRKP acquisition included recent surgery (OR 7.74; CI 3.42-17.45) and SOFA score on admission (OR 1.17; CI 1-1.22). In conclusion, active surveillance cultures detected a sizable proportion of CRKP colonized patients that were not identified by clinical cultures. Recent surgical procedures and patient severity were independently associated with CRKP acquisition.  相似文献

Of 840 patients at hospital admission, 2.7% were positive for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) and 22.3% were positive for methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA). During the next 8 months, 4.8% of the MSSA-positive patients acquired MRSA with no lineage association. A total of 5.2% of noncarriers acquired MRSA. We find no evidence that colonized hosts are more susceptible to acquiring MRSA.  相似文献

This study aimed to estimate the prevalence of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) carriage upon hospital admission and to study the molecular epidemiology of MRSA in order to assess the proportion of Panton-Valentine leukocidin (PVL)-positive community-associated (CA) and livestock-associated (LA) MRSA strains. Epidemiological data on MRSA carriage upon hospital admission (2006-2009) were collected in a compulsory, continuous, national MRSA surveillance in Belgian acute-care hospitals. Additionally, 328 MRSA strains in 2005 and 314 strains in 2008 were collected in a separate, multicenter microbiological survey. Spa-typing, SCCmec-typing and MLST were performed; toxin genes were detected by PCR. The overall prevalence of MRSA carriage upon hospital admission was 8.9 cases/1,000 admissions between 2006 and 2009. Of MRSA carriers, 37.5% had a known MRSA history, 39.4% had stayed in a care facility, 12.2% reported no contact with healthcare. Over 90% of MRSA belonged to five healthcare-associated clones. Of these, MRSA spa-CC038-ST45-IV was in decline, mainly in favor of spa-CC008-ST8-IV. MRSA spa-CC002-ST5-IV, spa-CC002-ST5-II and spa-CC032-ST22-IV remained relatively stable. The proportion of PVL-positive CA-MRSA and LA-MRSA ST398 was below 2% of all MRSA. The extra-hospital MRSA reservoir in Belgium mainly consists of persons with previous healthcare exposure. PVL-positive CA-MRSA and LA-MRSA strains remained infrequent among hospitalized patients.  相似文献

Community-acquired MRSA (CA-MRSA) is potentially a new emerging pathogen with most strains susceptible to many antimicrobials except for beta-lactam antibiotics. We retrospectively reviewed MRSA isolates during a 20-month study period (January 1998 through August 1999) and investigated those that were clindamycin susceptible. Patients were not considered to harbor CA-MRSA if they had been admitted to a hospital within the preceding 2 years or if their isolate had been obtained more than 72 h after admission. There were 2,817 S. aureus isolates, with 1,071 (38%) being MRSA. Of these 1,071 isolates, 161 were clindamycin susceptible; these were recovered from 81 patients. Of these 81 patients, 20 appeared to have community-acquired strains, but only 2 could be confirmed as having CA-MRSA.  相似文献

AIM OF THE STUDY: To describe specific difficulties to control a glycopeptide-resistant Enterococcus (GRE) outbreak occurring in an intensive care unit (ICU) during a regional epidemy. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Following identification of a GRE clinical isolate in ICU, systematic screening was performed on admission and then weekly, by anal swabs. GRE carriers were isolated according to two processes: first (week [W] 2-W8), cohorting of carriers in a dedicated sector of the ICU, with dedicated HCW; this required closing four of the 16 ICU beds. Second (W8-W29), a specific unit was created outside the ICU. VanA-genotypes and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) profiles were analyzed. RESULTS: During the first outbreak period (102 rectal swabs), two patients were found colonized at admission: the index case transferred from Nancy hospital, carrier of the Nancy epidemy PFGE profile strain, and one patient from the haemodialysis unit, carrier of a GRE strain presenting a different PFGE profile called the Thionville strain. Seven patients were newly identified as GRE colonized (2 by the Nancy strain and 5 by the Thionville strain). Defective running of the ICU was noted. During the second period (442 samples), six ICU patients were found colonized, including four at admission. No other case was identified in 16 weeks. Outbreak extension to other hospital units was checked at W19. The Thionville strain was not found in other regional hospitals. CONCLUSION: ICUs concentrate GRE colonization risk. This study demonstrates interest of PFGE. These low virulence bacteria have few direct pathological consequences, but they cause organizational problems in ICUs.  相似文献

From July, 1997, through December, 2001, patients who were admitted to intensive care units (ICUs) were enrolled in the study of vancomycin resistance enterococcus (VRE) colonization. Among 4,538 patients admitted to the ICUs, 363 (8.0%) patients were found to have positive culture of VRE at the day of admission to the ICUs and 453 (10.0%) of patients were negative to the first day of admission but became colonized with VRE during the stay in ICU. Among 816 patients, 9 (1.1%) with VRE isolated from sterile sites were selected for further analysis. Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) revealed a total of four PFGE banding patterns in the colonized and infected Enterococcus faecium isolates. Six of nine 9 were found to have an identical PFGE type Ia, suggesting the circulation of an endemic strain. All of these type Ia isolates also contained two potential virulence genes, the esp and hly genes and were first identified in Asia. After the further typing of 540 isolates that were randomly selected from each month, the endemic strain was not identified before the first patient was colonized and infected with this strain in November, 1998, but was isolated from other ICU patients during each month thereafter throughout the remainder of the study period. Although colonization of VRE is the first step toward infection, a low infection rate was observed, except in patients with prolonged hospitalization and severe illness. Use of the isolation room and reminders regarding hand hygiene failed to prevent the circulation of endemic strain. Thus, the SHEA guideline (Muto et al., Infect. Control Hosp. Epidemiol. 2003;24:362-386) for preventing nosocomial transmission of VRE should be enforced.  相似文献

Mantes' hospital polyvalent intensive care unit (ICU) experienced an outbreak episode caused by methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Suspicion of physicians was strengthened by observing the weekly reading of multiresistant germs and the significative increase of MRSA carriers incidence rate, compared with the number of admission in the ICU: 5.5% to 11.3%. This outbreak was surprising: it happened immediately after the installation in a new hospital and the reinforcement of nosocomial infection surveillance (systematic screening of every patient admitted to the I.U.C., his isolation if he presents risk factors to multiresistant germs, increasing of handwashing stations). The overlapping period of hospitalisation concerning the 13 patients being reported as SARM carrier, having the same antibiogram, and the epidemic curve suggested a cross contamination. The index case was a MRSA carrier the day of her admission and have had a recent hospitalisation in a high risk unit. MRSA has always been isolated in nasal swab. Six patients among the thirteen carriers developed an infection and have been treated by vancomycin: two systemic infections and four pulmonary infections. The mortality rate was 33% and only one of them seemed to be directly due to MRSA. Area samples were all negative. The clinical staff have been screened with nasal swab. We identified only one nasal MRSA carrier. The pulsed-field gel electrophoresis study showed that 9/11 which have been analysed were identical. This outbreak brought about staff, more sensibilisation to the nosocomial infection and updating of plain hygien rules leaded to its stop five months later.  相似文献

Meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is an important nosocomial pathogen but reports of community-acquired (CA) MRSA are increasing. This study determined the incidence of MRSA-blood-stream infection (BSI) among patients attending the Emergency Department (ED) of an urban tertiary-referral hospital between January 2004 and September 2005, the proportion of cases that were CA or health-care associated (HCA), the epidemiological types of isolates and the presence of pvl genes in CA-MRSA. Eighteen patients presented with MRSA-BSI; 16 cases were categorised as HCA and two as CA. Most patients were male, elderly and lived locally. Two patients (aged <30 years) had no recent previous HC exposure. Only one patient received appropriate empiric antimicrobial therapy. Isolates from patients with HCA-MRSA were similar to the predominant MRSA strain in Irish hospitals. The two CA-MRSA isolates exhibited different epidemiological types; one was pvl-positive. A significant cohort of patients present to the ED with MRSA-BSI. Careful consideration of appropriate empiric antimicrobial therapy for suspected staphylococcal infection is required.  相似文献

Efforts to control spread of community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) are often based on eradication of colonization. However, the role of nasal and non-nasal colonization in the pathogenesis of these infections remains poorly understood. Patients with acute S. aureus skin and soft tissue infection (SSTI) were prospectively enrolled. Each subject's nasal, axillary, inguinal and rectal areas were swabbed for S. aureus and epidemiological risk factors were surveyed. Among the 117 patients enrolled, there were 99 patients who had an SSTI and for whom data could be analysed. Sixty-five patients had a CA-MRSA SSTI. Among these patients, MRSA colonization in the nares, axilla, inguinal area and rectum was 25, 6, 11 and 13%, respectively, and 37% overall were MRSA colonized. Most (96%) MRSA colonization was detected using nose and inguinal screening alone. Non-nasal colonization was 25% among CA-MRSA patients, but only 6% among patients with CA-methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) or healthcare-associated MRSA or MSSA. These findings suggest that colonization patterns in CA-MRSA infection are distinct from those in non-CA-MRSA S. aureus infections. The relatively high prevalence of non-nasal colonization may play a key role in CA-MRSA transmission and acquisition of infection.  相似文献

Objective: To classify infections according to the carrier state determined by surveillance cultures of throat and rectum, rather than by the traditional criterion of the time of onset after admission.
Methods: An observational cohort study of 3 months' duration was performed in a mixed medical-surgical intensive care unit (ICU) in a district general hospital of a subset of patients requiring mechanical ventilation for ≥3 days. Surveillance cultures from throat and rectum were obtained on admission to the ICU and then twice weekly to distinguish carriage of potentially pathogenic microorganisms (PPM) brought in by the patient from microorganisms acquired during the ICU stay.
Results: Out of the total population of 104 patients, 21 patients were enrolled over 3 months. Eight patients (38%) developed 12 infections, half of which were of primary endogenous pathogenesis and caused by Haemophilus influenzae, Candida albicans and Pseudomonas aeruginosa carried by the patients on admission. The remaining six were of secondary endogenous pathogenesis and caused by Acinetobacter baumannii and Pseudomonas aeruginosa acquired in the unit.
Conclusions: Traditional classifications of hospital infection are challenged. If the traditional 48-h cut-off point was used, then 9 of 12 cases (75%) of infection would have been classified as nosocomial, whereas using the method based on the carrier state, 50% of all infections were caused by microorganisms carried by the patient on admission to the ICU. Moreover, we believe that the distinction between primary endogenous, secondary endogenous and exogenous is valid because these three types of infection each require different control methods.  相似文献

The incidence of tracheal colonization and its association with ventilator-associated pneumonia caused by methicillin-sensitiveStaphylococcus aureus (MSSA) was studied prospectively in 530 consecutively admitted mechanically ventilated patients in a general intensive care unit. Furthermore, the clinical spectrum, outcome, and microbiological results of 27 cases of staphylococcal ventilator-associated pneumonia (SVAP) were examined. Ventilator-associated pneumonia was diagnosed by protected specimen brush and/or bronchoalveolar lavage. On admission, 7% of the patients were colonized with MSSA in the trachea. Acquired tracheal colonization was demonstrated in 10% of the patients and occurred less frequently in patients with a hospital stay of > 48 h before ICU admission compared to patients admitted directly to the ICU (6% vs. 15%, p<0.001). Moreover, colonization was acquired more frequently among trauma and neurological/neurosurgical patients (22%) as compared to surgical and medical patients (7%) (p<0.0001). Twenty-one patients (4%) developed SVAP, the incidence being higher in patients colonized in the trachea with MSSA than in those not colonized (21 % vs. 1 %, p<0.00001). Staphylococcal ventilator-associated pneumonia developed more often in trauma and neurological/neurosurgical patients as compared to surgical and medical patients (8% vs. 3%, p<0.05). Moreover, patients with a hospital stay of < 48 h before admission to the ICU had a higher incidence of SVAP as compared to those with a longer hospital stay before ICU admission (7% vs. 2%, p<0.01). Crude infection-related mortality was 26%. Preceding colonization with MSSA in the trachea appears to be an important risk factor for the development of SVAP, and patients with a short duration of hospitalization before intensive care unit admission have the highest incidence of ventilator-associated pneumonia caused by MSSA.  相似文献

This study aimed to determine the prevalence of and risk factors for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) carriage among patients newly admitted to rehabilitation centres. It is a prospective study examining MRSA carriage on admission to seven rehabilitation wards in four countries. Risk factors for MRSA carriage were analysed using univariate and multivariate analyses. A total of 1204 patients were studied. Among them, 105 (8.7%) had a positive admission MRSA screening result. The MRSA carriers were more likely to be male, to have had a recent stay in another long-term-care facility or >2 weeks acute-care hospital stay, history of colonization with MRSA, reduced level of consciousness, peripheral vascular disease and pressure sores. In multivariable logistic regression male gender (odds ratio (OR) 2.2, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.4-3.6, p 0.001), history of MRSA positivity (OR 6.8, 95% CI 3.8-12.3, p <0.001), peripheral vascular disease (OR 2.5, 95% CI 1.2-5, p 0.013), recent stay in another long-term-care facility (OR 2.1, 95% CI 1.3-3.5, p 0.004), or long (>2 weeks) acute-care hospital stay (OR 1.9, 95% CI 1.2-3, p 0.004), remained significant risk factors for MRSA carriage. MRSA carriage is common on admission to rehabilitation centres but less so, than previously described in long-term-care facilities. Male gender, history of MRSA positivity, previous hospitalization and peripheral vascular disease may predict MRSA carriage, and may serve as indicators for using pre-emptive infection control measures.  相似文献

ObjectivesThe usefulness of screening for carriage of extended-spectrum β-lactamase-producing Enterobacteriaceae (ESBL-E) with active surveillance cultures (ASC) remains equivocal in low-endemicity intensive care units (ICUs). Our primary objective was to appraise the impact of ceasing ASC on the incidence of ICU-acquired ESBL-E infections in an ICU with universal contact precautions (CP). Patient outcomes and carbapenem consumption were also investigated.MethodsA single-ICU, retrospective, uncontrolled before-and-after study including all patients admitted for ≥3 days during two consecutive 1-year periods with and without ASC.ResultsA total of 524 and 545 patients were included during the ASC and the no-ASC periods, respectively. Twenty-eight patients (5.3%) from the ASC period were ESBL-E carriers. An ICU-acquired ESBL-E infection (median duration of risk exposure, 4 (range 2–9) days for both periods) occurred in 1.1% and 1.5% of patients admitted during the ASC and the no-ASC periods (p = 0.64), with no inter-period variation in incidence after adjustment on competing risks of death and ICU discharge (standardized hazard ratio (SHR) 2.32, 95% CI 0.80–6.73, p = 0.12). An admission during the no-ASC period exerted no independent impact on the hazards of ESBL-E infections (adjusted OR 1.16, 95% CI 0.38–3.50, p = 0.79), in-ICU death (SHR 1.22, 95% CI 0.93–1.59, p = 0.15) and extended length of stay (SHR for discharge 0.89, 95% CI 0.79–1.01, p = 0.08). Carbapenem exposure in patients without ESBL-E infection decreased between the ASC and no-ASC periods (75 versus 61 carbapenem-days per 1000 patient-days, p = 0.01).ConclusionsIn a low-endemicity ICU with universal CP, the withdrawal of routine screening for ESBL-E carriage had no significant effect on the incidence of ICU-acquired ESBL-E infections and patient outcomes. Carbapenem consumption decreased in patients without ESBL-E infection.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine the impact on healthcare resource utilization and associated costs of bacteraemia due to methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) vs. methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) strains in Spain. An observational, retrospective, cohort multicentre study was conducted during 2005. The target population comprised Spanish patients with S. aureus bacteraemia (five and ten cases per hospital for resistant and susceptible strains, respectively). The resources used were obtained from the hospital patient records. The unit costs were obtained from the participating hospitals and from Spanish databases; the costs of a bacteraemic episode were estimated from resource utilization results and expressed in euros (€). Univariate sensitivity analyses were performed. The clinical records of 366 valid patients with S. aureus bacteraemia (121 MRSA and 245 MSSA) from 27 Spanish hospitals were reviewed. Resource use per bacteraemic episode was higher for MRSA cases than for MSSA cases, with longer antibiotic treatment (3.1 additional days) and greater length of hospital stay (LOS) (2.2 additional days), more diagnostic tests, and higher rates of admission to the intensive-care unit (ICU) (7.6%). As a consequence, a higher cost per episode was incurred, with an additional €1205 in episodes of MRSA infections (1.12-fold increase). The main drivers of the cost difference were the higher rates of ICU admission and hospital re-admission and increased LOS. The analysis confirmed that there were additional costs due to resistant strains, ranging from €293 to €5188. Overall, MRSA was associated with higher costs in bacteraemic patients, and this was attributable mainly to the greater rate of ICU admissions and increased LOS.  相似文献

We used ciprofloxacin susceptibility as a phenotypic marker of community-associated methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA) in a London hospital collection of MRSA isolates from inpatients, outpatients and primary-care clinics during 2000–2006. Four-hundred and fifty-eight ciprofloxacin-susceptible (Cip-S) MRSA isolates were reported; antimicrobial susceptibility, staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCC mec ) type, spa type and the presence of Panton–Valentine leukocidin (PVL) genes were determined for all 194 surviving Cip-S MRSA isolates. Multilocus sequence typing and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis were performed on representative isolates. Clinical and epidemiological features of Cip-S MRSA infections were consistent with CA-MRSA, the incidence of which increased markedly during the study period from 49 in 2000 to 102 in 2006. Most (82.0%) of the surviving Cip-S MRSA isolates were SCC mec  IV and 25.3% were PVL-positive. Considerable clonal heterogeneity was noted among the recovered isolates, including the t044/ST80-IV European clone and the PVL-negative t127/ST1-IV clone; PVL-positive t008/ST8-IV (USA300) isolates were rare. Ciprofloxacin susceptibility is a useful screening marker of CA-MRSA strains in London, which are more frequent than previously thought and whose incidence is increasing.  相似文献
