BackgroundWe aimed to compare the long-term clinical outcomes, complications, and survival of 2 revision stems with different geometries, extents of coating, and distal-locking mechanisms.MethodsWe retrospectively compared outcomes at a minimum of 7 years following revision THA using 2 proximally coated distal-locking stems: 98 Ultime first-generation (G1) and 116 Linea second-generation (G2) stems. Ten-year Kaplan-Meier survival was assessed considering stem re-revision for any reason and for aseptic reasons. At final follow-up, Harris Hip Score and Oxford Hip Score were collected, and any thigh pain or complications were noted.ResultsConsidering re-revision for any reason, survival was 69% for G1 stems and 91% for G2 stems. Considering re-revision for aseptic reasons, survival was 77% for G1 stems and 92% for G2 stems. Re-revisions were due to fracture of 6 G1 stems but no G2 stems. Complications that required reoperation without stem or cup removal occurred in 3 of the G1 stems and 1 of the G2 stems. Compared to the G1 stems, the G2 stems resulted in better Harris Hip Score (83 vs 71, P = .001), Oxford Hip Score (22 vs 27, P = .019), less thigh pain (4% vs 39%, P < .001), and fewer nonoperated complications (9% vs 15%).ConclusionThe second-generation stem had significantly better survival and clinical outcomes than the first-generation stem. The differences in survival and clinical outcomes could be attributed to the larger coated surface of the G2 stem and to the fact that the G1 stem was originally intended as a temporary implant to be followed by de-escalation.  相似文献

BackgroundTapered modular stems are increasingly used in revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) with deficient femoral bone stock. This study aimed to report the long-term outcomes of revision THA using a tapered and fluted modular stem.MethodsBetween December 1998 and February 2006, 113 revision THAs (110 patients) were performed with a tapered and fluted modular stem at a single institution. Hip radiographs were used to identify stem subsidence, stability, and femoral radiolucency. Final outcomes were assessed in 72 hips (70 patients), with a minimum follow-up of 10 years.ResultsThe mean follow-up duration was 16 years (range, 10-23). At the final evaluation, the Harris Hip Score improved from a mean of 41 points (range, 10-72) preoperatively to 83 points (range, 56-100) (P < .001). Six femoral re-revisions were performed for the following reasons: 1 aseptic loosening, 2 stem fractures, and 3 infections. One stem fracture occurred at the modular junction after 14 years, and the other at a more distal location after 15 years. Stem subsidence was >5 mm in 6 hips (9.1%), but secondary stability was achieved in all stems. Osseointegration was observed in 63 (95.5%) hips. Stem survivorship was 91.1% with an end point of any re-revision and 94.6% for aseptic re-revision.ConclusionA tapered and fluted modular stem demonstrated excellent implant survivorship with reliable bony fixation at a mean follow-up of 16 years. This type of stem can be a durable option for revision THA in patients who have femoral defects.  相似文献

BackgroundThe use of an extensively porous-coated uncemented cobalt-chrome monoblock femoral stem for revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) is well established with excellent mid-term results. The aim of this study is to report the long-term survivorship of these implants in femoral stem revisions.MethodsThis is a long-term retrospective review of prospectively collected data of 55 femoral stem revisions in 55 patients using a contemporary, cementless extensively porous-coated cobalt-chrome monoblock stem. All patients between 2001 and 2006 who underwent first time femoral stem revision with a contemporary, cementless extensively porous-coated cobalt-chrome monoblock stem were included. Harris Hip Score, Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Index, and University of California Los Angeles activity scores were recorded preoperatively and at latest follow-up. Radiographs were analyzed for evidence of loosening, subsidence, osteolysis, and bony union. This study included 55 patients, comprising of 36 females (66%) and 19 males (34%) with a mean age of 66.4 ± 9.3 years at the time of surgery. The mean time interval from index procedure was 9.8 ± 2.9 years. Mean time from revision THA to final follow-up was 13.2 ± 2.17 years with a minimum of 10 years of follow-up.ResultsIndications for revision included aseptic loosening (33), prosthetic joint infection (13), and periprosthetic fracture (10). Significant improvement in Harris Hip Score (85.1 ± 1.77 vs 51.8 ± 2.3, P < .001), Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Index (17.6 ± 0.77 vs 33.3 ± 0.8, P < .001), and University of California Los Angeles (5.25 ± 0.2 vs 2.7 ± 0.36, P < .001) scores were found at latest follow-up compared to preoperative. Fifty-four patients (98%) achieved stable bony ingrowth on radiographic analysis. All 10 patients treated for periprosthetic fractures achieved bony union of their fractures. Two patients suffered intraoperative periprosthetic fractures and were treated with a cable-plating system. There were no mechanical failures and no femoral stem re-revisions. One patient was diagnosed with a deep infection and was treated with chronic suppressive antibiotic therapy due to significant medical comorbidities.ConclusionRevision of the femoral component with a contemporary extensively porous-coated cobalt-chrome femoral stem has excellent functional outcomes, radiographic outcomes, and long-term survivorship with minimal complications.  相似文献

BackgroundThe purpose of this study is to determine the clinical and radiographic outcomes, mortality rate, complication rate, and revision rate of this ultra-short non-anatomic cementless femoral stem in elderly patients with a femoral neck fracture.MethodsWe reviewed the results of 284 total hip arthroplasties performed with an ultra-short non-anatomic cementless stem in 280 previously active patients with a mean age of 72.8 ± 13 years (range 49-83). The mean follow-up was 9.3 years (range 7-13).ResultsThe mean Harris Hip Score was 86 ± 14 points at final follow-up. The mean Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index score was 24 ± 6 points at the final follow-up. The mean University of California, Los Angeles activity score was 6 points at final follow-up. Osseointegration was seen in all acetabular (100%) and in 276 femoral components (97%). Kaplan-Meier survivorship analysis revealed that the survival rate of the femoral component at 8.3 years was 97% (95% confidence interval 91–100) and that of the acetabular component was 100% (95% confidence interval 94–100) with aseptic loosening or revision as the end point.ConclusionAn ultra-short non-anatomic cementless femoral stem in patients with good bone quality (Dorr A and some Dorr type B bone) is a safe treatment for femoral neck fracture. In patients with poor bone quality (Dorr C type), the results were very poor, and use of this stem should be avoided.  相似文献

BackgroundIn revision total hip arthroplasty (THA) cases with preserved femoral metaphyseal bone, tapered proximally porous-coated “primary” femoral stems may be an option. The objective of this study was to compare outcomes of patients with Paprosky I or II femoral bone loss undergoing revision THA with either a primary metaphyseal-engaging cementless stem or a revision diaphyseal-engaging stem.MethodsThis was a retrospective analysis of 70 patients with Paprosky I or II femoral bone loss who underwent femoral revision. 35 patients who were revised using a primary cementless femoral stem were compared with 35 patients who underwent femoral revision using a revision diaphyseal-engaging stem. The groups were similar regarding age, gender, body mass index, and American Society of Anesthesiologists. Clinical and radiographic outcomes and complications were compared over an average follow-up of 2.9 years (SD 1.4).ResultsRevision THA was most commonly performed for periprosthetic joint infection (N = 27, 38.6%). The groups were similar with regards to Paprosky femoral classification (P = .56), length of stay (P = .68), discharge disposition (P = .461), operative time (P = .20), and complications (P = .164). There were no significant differences between primary and revision femoral stem subsidence (0.12 vs. 0.75 mm, P = .18), leg length discrepancy (2.3 vs. 4.05 mm, P = .37), and Hip Disability and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score Jr (73.1 [SD 21.1] vs. 62.8 [SD 21.7], P = .088). No patient underwent additional revision surgery involving the femoral component.ConclusionUse of modern primary cementless femoral stems is a viable option for revision hip arthroplasty in the setting of preserved proximal femoral metaphyseal bone. Outcomes are not inferior to those of revision stems and offer potential benefits.  相似文献

A prospective study of 15 patients was designed to examine whether the modular cementless revision stem (Revitan curved; Zimmer GmbH, Winterthur, Switzerland) is suitable for stem revisions with a defective isthmus when distal interlocking screws are also used for fixation. During a follow-up period of 35.4 ± 11.4 months (24-70 months), there was one stem loosening with screw breakage in a case of a stem that was too thin. According to Engh et al, bony ingrowth fixation of the stem occurred in 12 cases and stable fibrous fixation in 2 cases. The Harris Hip Score rose continuously from 44.7 ± 12.9 points preoperatively to 75 ± 10 points at 24 months. This concept of additional stem fixation with distal interlocking screws represents a useful treatment option for revision arthroplasty in rare cases of a defective isthmus.  相似文献

We retrospectively reviewed 123 patients who underwent cementless THA with modular femoral stem designs for revision THA or conversion of failed ORIF and found 75 patients available for analysis. The Harris Hip Score (HHS) improved from 52 ± 14 to 86 ± 11 (P < 0.001). The femoral stem was re-revised in eight patients (11%). The mean time to re-revision was 1.1 years (0.13–2.54). Reasons for re-revision included infection (n = 5, 7%), aseptic loosening (n = 2, 3%) and significant pain (n = 1, 1%). There were no failures of the modular junctions. PC stems had an increased rate of intraoperative fractures (PC 28% vs. STS 9%, P = 0.04). Modular cementless femoral stems provide acceptable mid-term results in revision THA.  相似文献

BackgroundThere is a paucity of studies longer than 30 years to determine clinical and radiographic results of retained cementless anatomic stem. The purpose of this study is to determine the long-term (up to 34 years) survival rate of the retained cementless anatomic femoral stem in patients <50 years of age.MethodsIsolated cup revision was performed with retaining primary cementless anatomic femoral stem in 206 patients (149 men and 57 women). Clinical and radiographic results were monitored at each follow-up. At the latest follow-up, computed tomography scans were carried out in all hips to determine the prevalence of osteolysis. The mean follow-up of the retained femoral stem was 30.3 years (range 27-34). The mean follow-up of the revised cup was 25.5 years (range 22-29).ResultsThe mean Harris Hip Score was 91 ± 7.8 points (range 71-100) and the mean Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis score was 16 ± 7 points (range 7-34) at the final follow-up. The mean University of California, Los Angeles activity score was 7 ± 4 points (range 5-10) at the final follow-up. The overall survival rate of retained cementless femoral stems was 98.9% (95% confidence interval 91-100) at 30.3 years. The survival rate of the revised cup was 93% (95% confidence interval 89-98) at 25.5 years.ConclusionThe rate of aseptic loosening of already osseointegrated femoral stem remains low with ceramic-on-ceramic bearing in young active patients.  相似文献

Different operative techniques of stem revision for the treatment of periprosthetic fractures type Vancouver B2 and B3 are described. Our prospective study of 32 periprosthetic fractures (22?Vancouver type B2, 10?Vancouver type B3) with a follow-up period of at least 24?months showed that stem revision employing a transfemoral surgical approach and a modular, cementless, tapered and fluted revision stem led to reproducibly good results with respect to fracture healing, stability of the prosthesis stem, dislocation, intraoperative fracture, and clinical outcome. All fractures healed with a mean time of 14.5?±?5.2?weeks. No cases of subsidence of the stem were observed and, according to the classification of Engh et al. concerning the biological fixation of the stem, bony ingrowth fixation was observed in 28?cases and stable fibrous fixation was observed in 4?cases. One dislocation and one case of deep vein thrombosis occurred, and there were no cases of intraoperative fracture. The Harris Hip Score rose continually (3?months postoperation: 59.2?±?14.6 points; 24?months postoperation: 81.6?±?16.5?points). According to the classification of Beals and Tower, all results were rated as excellent.  相似文献

BackgroundBoth modular and monoblock tapered fluted titanium (TFT) stems have gained popularity over fully porous-coated cylindrical (FPCC) femoral stem designs, but limited data exist comparing subsidence rates following revision total hip arthroplasty (THA). The purpose of this study is to determine differences in subsidence and clinical outcomes among 3 revision femoral stem designs.MethodsWe reviewed a consecutive series of 335 patients who underwent femoral component revision to a cementless modular TFT (n = 225), monoblock TFT (n = 63), or FPCC (n = 47) stem between 2012 and 2019. We evaluated radiographic subsidence rates, re-revision rates, and patient-reported outcomes between the 3 stems. A multivariate regression analysis was performed to determine the independent effect of stem type on the risk of subsidence >5 mm.ResultsAt an average follow-up of 39 months (range, 12 to 96 months), there were no differences in mean subsidence rates (3.5 vs 2.4 vs 2.1 mm, P = .14), HOOS Jr scores (78 vs 74 vs 64 points, P = .15), or aseptic re-revision rates (4% vs 3% vs 0%, P = .29) between modular TFT, monoblock TFT, and FPCC stems. Although modular TFT stems were more often used in patients with extensive femoral bone loss (Paprosky III and IV), there were no differences in subsidence rates >5 mm among the 3 stems (P > .05) in multivariate analysis.ConclusionModular TFT, monoblock TFT, and FPCC femoral stem designs all perform well in revision THA with no difference in clinical outcomes or subsidence rates. Surgeons should select the stem which they feel is the most clinically appropriate.  相似文献

Evidence supporting modular, tapered stems for severe proximal metaphyseal and diaphyseal bone loss is limited. We report our clinical experience with its use for severely deficient femurs. Of 211 revision total hip arthroplasties (THAs), 18 tapered, modular titanium stems were implanted in Paprosky type III and IV femurs. Clinical data were reviewed for function, stability, structural failure and revision surgery at a mean follow-up of 4.5 years. The overall survival rate was 94%. One required revision due to infection and subsidence. The mean subsidence was 3.5 mm and the mean pre- and post-operative Harris Hip score was 56 and 79, respectively. In surviving cases, patients achieved satisfactory function and there were no mechanical failures. Modular, tapered stems demonstrated acceptable outcomes for management of severe proximal metaphyseal and diaphyseal defects.  相似文献

Fluted tapered revision femoral stems have been used successfully in Europe. Modularity makes these implants more versatile, but outcomes of modular designs have not been reported. We report a retrospective review of 70 such stems with a mean follow-up of 47 months. Combined metaphyseal/diaphyseal bone loss was present preoperatively in 36 (51%) of 70 hips. Three hips (4.3%) were re-revised or in need of re-revision, and worst-case survival was 87%. The mean postoperative patient-assessed Oxford Hip Score was 21.1. Restoration of proximal bone was noted in 56%. Complications included mean subsidence of 9.9 mm, dislocation in 7 (10%) of 70 hips, and fracture or cortical perforation in 17 (24.2%) of 70. These results are equivalent to, or better than, reported results of other types of cementless revision femoral stems.  相似文献

The objective of this retrospective study was to evaluate our results with one-stage revision using cementless femoral stem for infected hip arthroplasties. Twenty-four patients were included in the study. The acetabular component was cemented in 9 cases. In 2 patients a structured bone allograft was necessary to fill an acetabular defect. After a mean follow-up of 44.6 months, 23 patients showed no signs of infection (95.8%), the mean functional response according to the Merle d’Aubigné scale was 13.8 and the mean Harris Hip Score was 65.4. One-stage revision hip arthroplasty using cementless femoral stem was associated with a high success rate.  相似文献

BackgroundSurgeons currently have difficulty when managing metal-on-metal hip arthroplasty (MoMHA) patients with adverse reactions to metal debris (ARMD). This stems from a lack of evidence, which is emphasized by the variability in the recommendations proposed by different worldwide regulatory authorities for considering MoMHA revision surgery. We investigated predictors of poor outcomes following MoMHA revision surgery performed for ARMD to help inform the revision threshold and type of reconstruction.MethodsWe retrospectively studied 346 MoMHA revisions for ARMD performed at 2 European centers. Preoperative (metal ions/imaging) and intraoperative (findings, components removed/implanted) factors were used to predict poor outcomes. Poor outcomes were postoperative complications (including re-revision), 90-day mortality, and poor Oxford Hip Score.ResultsPoor outcomes occurred in 38.5%. Shorter time (under 4 years) to revision surgery was the only preoperative predictor of poor outcomes (odds ratio [OR] = 2.12, confidence interval [CI] = 1.00-4.46). Prerevision metal ions and imaging did not influence outcomes. Single-component revisions (vs all-component revisions) increased the risk of poor outcomes (OR = 2.99, CI = 1.50-5.97). Intraoperative modifiable factors reducing the risk of poor outcomes included the posterior approach (OR = 0.22, CI = 0.10-0.49), revision head sizes ≥36 mm (vs <36 mm: OR = 0.37, CI = 0.18-0.77), ceramic-on-polyethylene revision bearings (OR vs ceramic-on-ceramic = 0.30, CI = 0.14-0.66), and metal-on-polyethylene revision bearings (OR vs ceramic-on-ceramic = 0.37, CI = 0.17-0.83).ConclusionNo threshold exists for recommending revision in MoMHA patients with ARMD. However postrevision outcomes were surgeon modifiable. Optimal outcomes may be achieved if surgeons use the posterior approach, revise all MoMHA components, and use ≥36 mm ceramic-on-polyethylene or metal-on-polyethylene articulations.  相似文献

BackgroundRevision of a failed total hip arthroplasty (THA) poses technical challenges. The use of primary stems for revision can be advantageous for maintaining bone stock and reducing complications: small case series have reported promising results in the short-term to mid-term follow-up. The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term clinical and functional results and survivorship of a consecutive series of THA femoral component revisions using a conical primary cementless stem (PCS).MethodsNinety-four stem revisions with a preoperative Paprosky I or II defect were analyzed at an average follow-up of 12.7 ± 5.4 years. Aseptic loosening was the reason for revision in 92.5% of cases. Twenty patients were lost to follow-up. Two subgroups were created: Group 1 (n = 59) underwent isolated stem revision; Group 2 (n = 15) underwent complete THA revision. All were evaluated preoperatively and postoperatively based on the Harris Hip Score (HHS), the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Index (WOMAC) score, and the visual analog scale for pain (VAS). Residual trochanteric pain and length discrepancies were recorded. Radiographic evaluation included signs of osteolysis, subsidence, loosening, and heterotopic ossification.ResultsPCS survivorship was 100% at 5 years and 95.9% at 10 years. Overall, significant postoperative improvements (P < .01) were observed on the HHS (44.3 vs 86.9), WOMAC (42.8 vs 82.8), and VAS (7.0 vs 3.0). Postoperative scores on all scales were higher for Group 1 (P < .01). Three patients (4.1%) underwent further stem revision. Demarcation lines (1 mm) were found in 12 (16.2%) patients and significant heterotopic ossifications in 22 (29.7%).ConclusionThe use of PCS for stem revision in failed THA with a limited femoral bone defect is a reliable option for both isolated stem revision and concomitant cup revision in well-selected patients.  相似文献

BackgroundShort-stem femoral implants (SSFIs) promote the preservation of bone in the femoral neck, reduce soft tissue disruption, and facilitate minimally invasive surgical techniques. The purpose of this study was to report the revision rate, complication rate, patient satisfaction, patient-reported outcomes, and radiographic outcomes of patients who underwent total hip arthroplasty (THA) with the Alteon Neck Preserving Femoral Stem (ANPS).MethodsA prospectively maintained database was reviewed which analyzed 92 THAs between the years 2016 and 2018. Patient-reported outcomes, patient satisfaction, complication rates, and radiographic outcomes were assessed at 2-5 years postoperatively.ResultsThe final cohort consisted of 63 hips. Five patients (7.9%) underwent revision surgery and 2 (3.2%) had other complications not requiring revision. Survivorship when considering only the femoral component was 93.7% at an average of 41.4 months of follow-up. The average postoperative Oxford Hip Score (41.5 ± 8.3) and Harris Hip Score (77.9 ± 16.6) demonstrated significant improvement among our nonrevised patients, respectively (P < .001). Radiographs demonstrated spot welding in 56% of arthroplasties most commonly in Gruen Zones 2, 3, and 13 and that femur radiolucencies were visualized in 58% predominantly along the distal aspect of the stem. Radiographic femoral component subsidence was present in 9.7% of patients.ConclusionThe ANPS may be less reliable than previously reported. Our cohort’s revision rate was unacceptably high with 6.3% requiring revision surgery for femoral component loosening in less than 5 years. Surgeons should consider the challenges and prohibitive failure rate associated with SSFIs before routine usage in THA.  相似文献

BackgroundThe aim of the present study is to assess the long-term clinical and radiological outcomes of a proximal porous-coated, dual-offset, tapered titanium alloy uncemented stem at a minimum of 15 years of follow-up.MethodsWe reviewed 210 total hip arthroplasties (in 193 patients) performed between 1996 and 1999 and followed prospectively in our database who received the Synergy stem. We report a Kaplan-Meier survival analysis as well as the Harris Hip Score, the Western Ontario and McMaster University Arthritis Index, and the Short Form Health Survey-12 scores. Radiographs were evaluated for evidence of subsidence, osteolysis, osteointegration, or loosening.ResultsThe average follow-up was 16 years (range, 15-17.7 years). Kaplan-Meier survival analysis with revision of stem for aseptic mechanical loosening (1 stem) as the end point revealed a cumulative survival rate of 99.5% at 16 years. The Harris Hip Score, the Western Ontario and McMaster University Arthritis Index, and the Short Form Health Survey-12 physical scores were all significantly improved (P < .001) from the preoperative period to latest follow-up. Minor osteolysis was observed proximally in 14 hips (6.6%) with no osteolysis distal to the porous coating.ConclusionTo our knowledge, this study represents the largest series reporting the longest clinical follow-up of this third-generation, dual-offset, proximal ingrowth, tapered cementless stem. The Synergy stem design has achieved excellent clinical outcomes, predictable osteointegration, and outstanding survivorship of 99.5% at a minimum of 15 years follow-up, representing the standard for femoral stems at our institution.  相似文献

Background

In revision total hip arthroplasty (THA), proximal femoral bone loss creates a challenge of achieving adequate stem fixation. The purpose of this study was to examine the outcomes of a monoblock, splined, tapered femoral stem in revision THA.

Methods

Outcomes of revision THA using a nonmodular, splined, tapered femoral stem from a single surgeon were reviewed. With a minimum of 2-year follow-up, there were 68 cases (67 patients). Paprosky classification was 3A or greater in 85% of the cases. Preoperative and postoperative Harris Hip Scores (HHS), radiographic subsidence and osseointegration, limb length discrepancy, complications, and reoperations were analyzed.

Results

The Harris Hip Score improved from 37.4 ± SD 19.4 preoperatively to 64.6 ± SD 21.8 at final follow-up (P < .001). There were 16 revision procedures—8 for septic indications and 8 for aseptic indications. Subsidence occurred at a rate of 3.0% and dislocation at 7.4%. Limb length discrepancy of more than 1 cm after revision was noted in 13.6% of patients. Bone ingrowth was observed in all but 4 patients (94.1%). At 4-year follow-up, Kaplan-Meier estimated survival was 72.9% (95% confidence interval [CI] 57.0-83.8) for all causes of revision, 86.6% (95% CI 72.0-93.9) for all aseptic revision, and 95.5% (95% CI 86.8-98.5) for aseptic femoral revision.

Conclusion

Although complications were significant, revision for femoral aseptic loosening occurred in only 3 patients. Given the ability of this monoblock splined tapered stem to adequately provide fixation during complex revision THA, it remains a viable option in the setting of substantial femoral bone defects.  相似文献

BackgroundNonoperative and operative management of iliopsoas impingement (IPI) is commonly performed following total hip arthroplasty (THA). The purpose of this systematic review is to compare patient-reported outcomes (PROs) following conservative treatment, iliopsoas (IP) tenotomy, and revision arthroplasty in patients presenting with IPI after THA.MethodsThe PubMed and Embase databases were searched for articles regarding IPI following THA. Studies were included if (1) IPI after THA was treated with conservative management, an IP tenotomy, or acetabular component revision and (2) included PROs.ResultsEleven articles were selected for review and there were 280 hips treated for IPI following THA. Harris Hip Scores reported for the conservative group, the IP tenotomy group, and the cup revision group were 59.0 preoperatively to 77.8, 58.0 preoperatively to 85.4, and 58.1 preoperatively to 82.4 at latest follow-up, respectively. The IP tenotomy cohort also demonstrated superior postoperative functional outcomes using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Index, Medical Research Council score, Oxford Hip Score, and Merle d'Aubigné-Postel Pain Score. Patients who had a revision exhibited higher Oxford Hip Scores, higher Medical Research Council scores, and lower Visual Analog Scale Pain scores postoperatively.ConclusionManagement of IPI following THA includes nonoperative measures, IP tenotomy, or acetabular component revision. Patients have been shown to experience favorable PROs at latest follow-up, with an apparent advantage for surgical treatment. Compared to revision arthroplasty, IP tenotomy resulted in a lower overall rate of complications with less severe complication types. Therefore, IP tenotomy should be considered as a second line of treatment for patients who failed conservative measures.
