目的:探索铸造金属桩核制作方法、粘接方法和粘接剂种类对其固位的影响。方法:选择80颗完整的新鲜无龋坏下颌单根管双尖牙,在釉牙骨质界上2 mm处去除临床牙冠,行根管治疗,根管预备和铸造桩核制作及粘接。根据制作方法将80个样本分为两大组(直接法和间接法),每组40个。每组又根据粘接方法(使用螺旋输送器和未使用)和粘接剂(玻璃离子水门汀和磷酸锌水门汀)不同下分4小组,每组10个样本。将样本置于23 ℃室温生理盐水中存放24 h后放置于万能力学测试机上,以0.5mm/min的速度进行拉力试验直到失败,从而得出固位力大小。结果:本实验中影响固位力的最明显因素为粘接方法,使用了螺旋输送器组的固位力明显高于未使用螺旋输送器组(P<0.05);不同制作方法对固位力无明显影响(P>0.05),使用磷酸锌粘接剂组固位力高于使用玻璃离子粘接剂组。然而制作方法,粘接方法和粘接剂种类间是有密切的交互作用的(P<0.05)。结论:制作方法并不影响铸造桩核的固位力,磷酸锌粘接剂性能优于玻璃离子粘接剂,粘接方法对固位力有显著的影响,建议在粘接过程中使用螺旋输送器。  相似文献

PURPOSE: The first purpose of this study was to compare the retentive values of zinc phosphate and Panavia F resin cements when used for luting cast dowel and cores. The second purpose was to determine whether the use of a lubricant when making the resin pattern for a custom dowel and core would have an effect on the final retention of dowels cemented with either zinc phosphate or Panavia F cements. METHODS AND MATERIALS: Sixty-three caries-free extracted single-rooted human teeth were randomly divided into three groups of 21. Root canal preparations were standardized for all 63 teeth. Clinical protocols for fabricating and cementing dowel and core restorations were examined, comparing zinc phosphate and Panavia F resin cements. Direct dowel patterns were fabricated using the Para Post system and cast in a noble metal alloy. Group I dowel spaces were lubricated with GC lubricant prior to dowel pattern fabrication and cleaned with Cavidry solvent before cementing the cast dowel and core with zinc phosphate cement. Group II dowel spaces were rinsed with water only prior to dowel pattern fabrication. The dowels and cores in this group were cemented with Panavia F resin cement. Group III dowel spaces were lubricated with GC lubricant prior to dowel pattern fabrication; the dowel spaces were cleaned with Cavidry solvent before the cast dowel and cores were cemented with Panavia F cement. The tensile force necessary to remove the cast dowel and cores was determined using a universal testing machine. Results were statistically analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD test. RESULTS: The dowels and cores in Group I had significantly higher retentive values than either of the two Panavia F groups (p< or = 0.001). No difference in retentive values (p > 0.05) was found between dowels luted with either of the lubricating agents in the Panavia F groups. CONCLUSIONS: Zinc phosphate cement had higher retentive values when cementing cast dowel and cores than Panavia F. The type of lubricant used for the resin dowel fabrication (water or GC lubricant that was removed with a solvent) had no effect on the retention of cast dowels cemented with Panavia F.  相似文献

Rods of lucite were drilled to receive a No. 5 parapost to a depth of 4 mm and 7 mm. Posts were fitted and cemented either by coating the post with cement or by placing the cement in the prepared hole with a lentulo spiral in a low-speed hand-piece and then inserting the pre-coated post. Photographs were taken to determine the distribution of the cement. The lentulo spiral distributed the cement along the entire length of the preparation, but coating alone did not distribute the cement evenly. The tensile strength with these two methods of post cementation was also compared in four groups of extracted teeth. In Groups IA and IIA, the post preparation was rinsed with 2 ml of 5.25% NaOCl and dried with paper points and blasts of air. In Group IA, the post was coated with zinc phosphate cement and seated. In Group IIA, the cement was placed into the post space with a lentulo spiral in a slowly rotating hand-piece; the post was then coated and seated. In Groups IB and IIB, the post preparation was rinsed with 1 ml of 17% Na2 EDTA followed by 1 ml of 5.25% NaOCl to remove the smeared layer at the dentin-cement interface. The posts were then cemented as in IA and IIA. Under the conditions of this experiment, the following conclusions can be drawn: Placing cement into the preparation with a lentulo spiral increased the tensile strength and the overall cement distribution.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: Cements that yield high retentive values are believed to allow use of shorter posts. PURPOSE: This study investigated the use of reinforced composite resin cement as compensation for reduced dowel length. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The retention values of stainless steel posts (parallel-sided ParaPost and tapered Dentatus in 5-, 8-, and 10-mm lengths) luted with Flexi-Flow titanium-reinforced composite resin and zinc phosphate cements were evaluated. Single-rooted extracted human teeth with crowns (n = 120), removed at the cementoenamel junction, were randomly divided into 4 groups of 30 samples each. Different post lengths were luted with either Flexi-Flow or zinc phosphate. Each sample was placed into a specialized jig and on a tensile testing machine with a crosshead speed of 2 mm/min, applied until failure. The effect of different posts and cements on the force required to dislodge the dowels was evaluated with multiple analyses of variance (ANOVA). One-way ANOVA with Scheffé contrast was applied to determine the effect of different post lengths on the retentive failure of posts luted with the 2 agents. RESULTS: Flexi-Flow reinforced composite resin cement significantly increased retention of ParaPost and Dentatus dowels (P<.001) compared with zinc phosphate. One-way ANOVA revealed no statistically significant difference (P>.05) between mean retention of both dowels luted with Flexi-Flow for all posts length used (5 mm = 8 mm = 10 mm). Mean retention values of the groups luted with zinc phosphate showed a statistically significant difference (P<.001) for the different post lengths (10 > 8 > 5 mm). Parallel-sided ParaPost dowels demonstrated a higher mean retention than tapered Dentatus dowels (P<.001). CONCLUSION: In this study, Flexi-Flow reinforced composite resin cement compensated for the reduced length of shorter parallel-sided ParaPost and tapered Dentatus dowels.  相似文献

This study compared the retention of full cast crowns over cores of amalgam or a Bis-GMA composite resin when cemented with a Bis-GMA composite resin cement or a zinc phosphate cement. The surfaces of two groups of Bis-GMA composite cores were mechanically altered with a groove or dimples to provide physical retention; two other groups were either etched with 1.23% acidulated phosphate fluoride (APF) or exposed to a zinc oxide-eugenol interim luting agent before crown cementation. Control groups of unaltered composite or amalgam core served as comparison standards. The zinc phosphate cement provided significantly greater retention with the amalgam core than with any of the composite cores. The APF-treated composite cores had the least retention of any of the zinc phosphate cementations. Cementation failure over the composite cores was at the core surface. Crown retention over the control and dimpled-surface composite core with the resin cement was twice that with zinc phosphate, and significantly greater than retention of castings cemented with the resin cement over amalgam cores. Retention over amalgam cores was significantly greater with zinc phosphate cement than with the composite resin cement.  相似文献

AIM: The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of ultrasound during the removal of posts cemented with either zinc phosphate cement, glass ionomer cement or resin cement. METHODOLOGY: Eighty-four single-rooted teeth were prepared and after cementation of cast posts, they were randomly divided into six groups of 14. Group 1, 2 and 3 did not receive ultrasonic vibration, whilst groups 4, 5 and 6 received ultrasonic vibration for 10 min. The force necessary for post removal was determined using a universal testing machine. Results were statistically analysed using ANOVA and Tukey tests (5%). RESULTS: The application of ultrasonic vibration reduced the retention provided by zinc phosphate and glass ionomer cements by 39% and 33%, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: A statistically significant reduction in the force necessary to remove posts cemented with zinc phosphate and glass ionomer cements occurred following application of ultrasound. The application of ultrasonic vibration did not influence the retention of cast posts cemented with resin cement.  相似文献

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: The successful restoration of endodontically treated teeth is enhanced by a crown design employing the ferrule effect. However, it is unclear which dowel-and-core system most effectively supports successful treatment. PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to compare the load fatigue resistance of 3 dowel-and-core systems. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Fifteen endodontically treated maxillary central incisors were sectioned perpendicular to the long axis at a point 1.5 mm incisal to the cemento-enamel junction (CEJ). At the level of the CEJ, specimens were then prepared for crowns with 1-mm complete shoulder finish lines and 1.5 mm of axial wall height. The prepared teeth were divided into 3 groups (n=5) and restored with 1 of the following dowel-and-core combinations: Group CG, cast gold dowels and cores; Group TA, titanium alloy dowels (ParaPost XH) with composite cores; or Group FR, fiber-reinforced resin dowels (ParaPost FiberWhite) with composite cores. A dentin bonding agent (OptiBond Solo) was placed prior to the composite cores. Dowel-and-core castings and titanium alloy dowels were cemented with zinc phosphate cement. The fiber-reinforced dowels were cemented with a resin cement (ParaPost Cement). The crowns for all specimens were cast with an incisal notch for applying the fatigue load. The independent variable measured was the number of load fatigue cycles required to cause luting cement failure. The data were subjected to 1-way analysis of variance and the Student-Newman-Keuls test for 3 subsets (alpha=.05). RESULTS: The mean value+/-standard deviation for the cycles to failure for each group was: Group CG: 11,897+/-4080 load cycles, Group TA: 24,384+/-8231 load cycles, and Group FR: 50,696+/-7063 load cycles. Significant differences were found between all groups ( P<.05). CONCLUSIONS: Fiber-reinforced resin dowels and bonded composite cores under fatigue loading provided significantly stronger crown retention than cast gold dowels and cores and titanium alloy dowels with composite cores under fatigue loading.  相似文献

Four techniques for the cementation of cast post restorations were compared in extracted single-rooted teeth. The techniques used were the lentula spiral, endodontic explorer, paper point, and direct post application. Evaluation was based on the presence of voids in the cement and retention of the post. The lentula spiral technique was performed without voids. The other techniques produced voids in increasing numbers in the following order: the endodontic explorer, direct application, and the paper point. The voids were commonly located along the shaft of the post, but there was no correlation between the number of voids and the retention of the posts.  相似文献

PurposeThe purpose of this study was to compare the tensile strength of commercially pure titanium dowels and cores cemented with zinc phosphate or resin cements.MethodsTwenty-one extracted human canines were endodontically treated. The root preparations were accomplished using Largo reamers (10 mm in depth and 1.7 mm in diameter). Acrylic resin patterns for the dowel and cores were made, and specimens were cast in commercially pure titanium (n = 7) and divided in three groups: TZ–CP Ti dowels luted with zinc phosphate luting agent, TP–CP Ti dowels luted with Panavia F and TR–CP Ti dowels luted with RelyX U100. Tensile strengths were measured in a universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. The results (N) were statistically analyzed by ANOVA and Tukey tests (α = 0.01).ResultsThe ANOVA indicated that there were significant differences among the groups tested. A Tukey multiple comparison procedure was performed and revealed statistically significant higher retention values for the dowel luted with RelyX U100 when compared with zinc phosphate or Panavia F.ConclusionCast commercially pure titanium dowels and cores fixed with RelyX U100 cement presented superior bond strength retention when compared to zinc phosphate and Panavia F.  相似文献

Factors affecting the retention and fit of gold castings   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A study was designed to simulate clinical conditions. Several factors were evaluated for effect on retention and fit (margin adaptation) of gold castings. Twenty-six castings (13 pairs) were made by different investigators using a standard preparation but with varying fabrication techniques. One of each pair of castings was made on a spaced die and one on an unspaced die. A significant difference in the postcementation retention was observed in the varying techniques of each investigator. Retentive values varied from 29 to 129 lbs. Complete seating of the castings during cementation was improved by the use of die spacer. Castings made on the spaced dies had more retention than corresponding unspaced castings. Die spacing has positive benefit when properly used. Moderate roughness of axial surfaces improves retention when zinc phosphate cement is used. Physical properties of restorative materials are important, but the individual technique and care of each investigator has a major effect on the ultimate fit and retention of the cast restoration.  相似文献

Occasionally the need arises to remove restorations that have been cemented. Several ultrasonic tips have been developed to aid in removing cemented restorations. Earlier studies of the effects of ultrasonic vibration reveal detrimental effects on amalgam surface and marginal integrity and, at short instrumentation periods (2.5 minutes) in vitro, no significant effect on the retention of cemented cast crowns. Twenty identically machined metal dies had nonprecious crowns waxed, cast, and fitted. Each casting was cemented twice with glass ionomer and zinc phosphate cement. Each cement was tested for the effects of vibration on retention. The cements were mixed according to manufacturer's specifications, placed under 5 kg load, then placed in 37 degrees C water and contained in a humidor. Retention was tested with a 4202 Instron machine to determine the forces needed to overcome retention. Retention ranged from a high of 125.36 kg for glass ionomer without vibration to a low of 19.11 kg for zinc phosphate vibrated for 12 minutes. The use of vibration is considered an advantageous adjunct to other cast restoration removal devices.  相似文献

STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: No clear consensus exists regarding the choice of luting agents for the retention of cast metal dowels used as a treatment alternative for endodontically treated teeth with excessive loss of coronal tooth structure. PURPOSE: The purpose of this in vitro study was to investigate the retention of the dowel/luting agent/tooth complex while applying different luting agents to cast metal dowels under vertical tensile loading. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Sixty extracted, noncarious mandibular premolars with roots of approximately 15-mm length were selected. For each tooth, a tapered root canal preparation was completed to a maximum diameter of 1.60 mm and a length of 11 mm, a common clinical configuration to accommodate cast metal dowels. Sixty cast metal dowels were fabricated for the tooth specimens and cemented with 1 of 3 luting agents (n = 20): zinc-phosphate cement (ZPC) as a control, phosphate-methacrylate resin luting agent (PMRL, Panavia F), and phosphate-methacrylate resin luting agent with metal dowel surfaces modified with a silane coating technique (PMRLS, Panavia F + Siloc). Tensile bond strength (TBS) of the specimens was measured with a universal testing machine at a crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. Data (kg) were statistically analyzed using a 1-way analysis of variance and a Scheffe multiple range test (alpha=.05). The homogeneity of variances was analyzed using the Levene test. RESULTS: The TBS values of ZPC (34.2 +/- 10.54 kg) were significantly higher than PMRL (22 +/- 9.57 kg) and PMRLS (21.7 +/- 7.64 kg). There was no significant difference between the PMRL and PMRLS groups. CONCLUSION: Within the limitations of this study, the use of zinc-phosphate cement provided greater TBS for cast metal dowels than the resin luting agent with and without the silane coating technique. The TBS values with and without the silane coating technique were not statistically different.  相似文献

Para-Post dowels were cemented by using combinations of cement, cleansing agents, and dentinal treatments. The comparative retentive strengths were as follows: 1. Para-Post posts cemented with composite into mechanically corrugated post spaces recorded the greatest retention. 2. The retention of the posts cemented with composite into post spaces rinsed with 1 ml of 17% EDTA with a pH of 7.5 and followed immediately by 1 ml of 5.25% NaOCl was lowest. 3. The retention of the posts secured with zinc phosphate into mechanically corrugated post spaces was significantly higher than with untapped post spaces. 4. The retentive strength of the posts placed with glass-ionomer cement into post spaces, irrigated with 1 ml of 40% polyacrylic acid solution, and rinsed with distilled water was comparable to that of posts secured with zinc phosphate cement without roughened post spaces.  相似文献

目的:比较用树脂粘接剂粘接的纤维增强复合树脂预成桩与用磷酸锌粘固的不锈钢预成桩的拉伸固位强度。方法:选择40颗因正畸拔除的下颌前磨牙,用金刚砂片在距釉牙骨质界冠方1 mm处去除牙冠,随机均分为4组,用预成桩配套用车针预备9 mm深的桩腔。对于不锈钢桩组,桩腔预备的直径为1.25 mm,用磷酸锌粘固粉粘固。对于纤维增强复合树脂桩组,桩腔预备的直径分别为1.00 mm、1.25 mm、1.50 mm,用树脂粘接剂粘接。储存24 h后,置于拉伸强度检测机上测量各组样本预成桩的拉伸固位强度,加载速度为5.0mm/m in,对各组的测量结果进行统计学分析。结果:各组预成桩的平均固位强度在(43.9±10.4)kg至(19.9±5.7)kg之间,磷酸锌粘固的不锈钢桩组的拉伸固位强度显著高于所有纤维桩组,1.00 mm纤维增强复合树脂桩组的固位强度明显低于其它组。结论:在本实验的研究条件下,磷酸锌粘固的不锈钢桩组固位强度最高。  相似文献

PURPOSE: This study compares the effect of different cementation techniques on the retention of cast posts and cores. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty-four extracted single rooted human teeth were used in this study. After routine preparation of the root canals, the canal space was enlarged with reamers. Direct post patterns were made with acrylic resin. Castings were fabricated using Ni-Cr-Mb alloy. Zinc phosphate cement was used as a luting agent using 4 different methods of cement introduction to the root canal space. This created 4 treatment groups consisting of 6 teeth in each group. In Group A, the cement was applied over the posts only. For the specimens in Group B, the cement was introduced into the root canals with a spiral filler and applied over the posts. In Group C, cement was injected into the root canals and then applied over the posts. Finally, for the specimens in Group D, cement was injected into the root canals and a spiral was used to spread it into the root canals, and cement was also applied over the posts. After cementation, teeth were stored in saline solution. The tensile retentive force of cast posts was evaluated using the Instron testing machine (Instron, Canton, MA). RESULTS: The retention obtained by the 4 techniques differed significantly (p <.05). The highest tensile force to post dislodgment was observed in Group D, and the least was in Group A. Analysis of variance test revealed a highly significant difference between groups (p <.0001). According to the Fisher exact test, there was a significant increase in retention from Group A to Group D (p <.05). CONCLUSIONS: Under the conditions of this study, the injection of cement into a root canal space followed by the use of a spiral resulted in the highest level of post retention. Retention was reduced when cement was placed using a Lentulo spiral alone (Kerr/Sybron Corp, Romulus, MI), a Jiffy tube (Teledyne Water Pik, Allegheny Teledyne Co, Fort Collins, CO) alone, or by application to the post only. STATEMENT OF PROBLEM: The standard cement for partial-veneer cast gold restorations has been zinc phosphate. With increasing interest in using resin and resin-modified glass ionomer cements for this purpose, marginal adaptation with use of these newer cements must be assessed. PURPOSE: The purpose of this in vitro study was to determine if the marginal adaptation of cast gold inlays is comparable for 3 different luting agents and 3 finishing techniques. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Cast gold inlays were cemented into triangular preparations on the buccal surface of 45 extracted human molars. Three operators each used a different technique for finishing margins: finishing during cementation (FD), finishing before cementation (FB), and finishing before and during cementation (FBA). The 15 teeth for each operator were divided into 3 subgroups of 5 each to accommodate 3 cements: zinc phosphate (Fleck's zinc phosphate: ZP), resin-modified glass ionomer (RelyX Luting: RXL), and self-adhesive modified resin (RelyX Unicem: RXU). For all specimens, fine sandpaper disks followed by fine cuttle disks were used for finishing the castings. The marginal gap was measured using a Nikon measuring microscope at x50 magnification. Data were analyzed with a 1-way ANOVA for each cement (alpha=.05). RESULTS: There were significant differences among finishing techniques for each cement (P<.05). For ZP, the smallest mean marginal gaps were for FD (31 microm) and FBA (42 microm). For RXL, FBA produced the smallest gap (19 microm). For RXU, FB (23 microm) and FBA (22 microm) were optimal. CONCLUSIONS: Within the limitations of this in vitro study, the marginal gap attained with cementation of partial-veneer cast gold restorations with ZP (31 microm) can also be obtained using RXL or RXU. The techniques of FD or FBA are best used for ZP, whereas the FBA technique is best for RXL, and either FB or FBA is optimal for RXU. The FBA technique yielded a small gap; this was common to all 3 cements.  相似文献

Retentive strength, disintegration, and marginal quality of luting cements.   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
This study evaluated the retention of complete crowns by using five different methods of cementation. Complete crowns were prepared with standardized dimensions on extracted human molars. Metal crowns were cast with a high noble gold ceramic alloy and were cemented with zinc phosphate cement, glass ionomer cement, composite resin cement, composite resin cement with a dentinal bonding agent, and adhesive resin cement. The retention was measured by subjecting the specimens to tensile load until fracture occurred. The disintegration was measured according to American Dental Association Specification No. 8, and the condition of the cements at the margins of crowns was analyzed by use of a scanning electron microscope. Kruskal-Wallis one-way analysis of variance revealed statistically significant differences between the mean retentive strengths. The retention of the zinc phosphate and the glass ionomer groups was significantly different from that of the adhesive resin group. The retention of the adhesive resin cement was 65% greater than the retention of the composite resin and the composite resin/dentinal bonding agent group, but the Mann-Whitney Wilcoxon rank sum test did not depict this difference as significant. The mean +/- SD of the disintegration for the zinc phosphate, the glass ionomer cement, and the composite resin cement was 0.025 +/- 0.013, 0.023 +/- 0.011, and 0.017 +/- 0.001, respectively. The scanning electron microscope analysis of the margins revealed that the composite resin cement was almost intact, the zinc phosphate was subjected to limited disintegration, and the glass ionomer displayed the worst marginal integrity.  相似文献

Freshly extracted molar teeth were prepared for complete cast gold crowns cemented with either zinc phosphate cement, polycarboxylate cement, glass ionomer cement, a resin luting agent, or a zinc oxide-eugenol temporary cement. The specimens were tested at 1-, 6-, and 12-month intervals with radioactive 45Ca. The specimens were sectioned, autoradiographs were made, and the marginal leakage was evaluated on a scale of 0 to 3. The results showed that zinc phosphate, polycarboxylate, and glass ionomer cements are equally suited for permanent cementation of restorations. The resin luting agent showed high initial leakage, indicating that it is not as desirable for permanent cementation purposes. The zinc oxide-eugenol cement showed increased leakage with time but is well suited for its indicated purpose, temporary cementation.  相似文献

PURPOSE: This study compared the tensile retentive strength of composite fiber-reinforced dowels luted with a resin cement to stainless steel dowels luted with zinc phosphate cement. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The crowns of 40 extracted human mandibular premolars were removed with a separating disc 1-mm coronal to the cementoenamel junction. The teeth were randomly divided into 4 groups (n = 10). A post space was prepared in each specimen to a depth of 9 mm, using the drill supplied by the respective manufacturer. For the stainless steel post group, 1.25-mm-diameter posts were cemented with zinc phosphate cement. For the composite fiber reinforced groups, posts with diameters of 1.00, 1.25, and 1.50 mm were luted with a Bisphenol A-Glycidyl Methacrylate (BIS-GMA) resin bonding system (Jeneric/Pentron, Wallingford, CT) according to manufacturer specifications. The specimens were stored in a sealed container with a moist environment for 24 hours, placed in a fixture in an 801 Materials Test Systems (MTS) machine (MTS Systems Corp, Minneapolis, MN), and loaded in tension at a rate of 5.0 mm/min until failure. Differences among the 4 groups were determined using a one-way analysis of variance and Tukey-B post-hoc tests (alpha = 0.05). RESULTS: The mean loads to failure ranged from 43.9 +/- 10.4 kg for the stainless steel dowel group to 19.9 +/- 5.7 kg for the composite fiber-reinforced 1.00-mm-diameter group. The stainless steel post luted with zinc phosphate cement provided significantly greater tensile resistance than all composite fiber dowel groups. The retention of the 1.00-mm composite fiber-reinforced post was significantly less than the remaining groups. PURPOSE: The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the influence of cement type and application technique on seating discrepancies and retention forces of noble alloy castings cemented on titanium abutments. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Eugenol-free zinc oxide (Freegenol), zinc phosphate (Harvard), glass ionomer (KetacCem), polycarboxylate (Durelon), and self-adhesive resin (RelyX Unicem) cements were used. The inner surfaces of the castings were either completely coated or half-coated with cement. Abutments were used as delivered with a machined surface for the first part of the study. Groups of 8 castings were cemented in both ways. For the second part of the study, the abutments were air-abraded (aluminum oxide, 50 microm particle size), and groups of 8 completely coated castings were cemented with all cements. Marginal discrepancies were measured before and immediately after cementation. Tensile tests were conducted to measure the retention forces. Statistical analysis was performed with pair-wise comparison using the Wilcoxon rank sum test modified by Bonferroni-Holm. RESULTS: Change in seating discrepancies did not differ significantly among the different application techniques. The median retention forces for completely-coated castings were 177 N for eugenol-free zinc oxide, 346 N for zinc phosphate, 469 N for glass ionomer, 813 N for polycarboxylate, and 653 N for self-adhesive resin. With respect to retention force, 3 significantly different groups (P < .05) were identified: (1) zinc oxide, (2) zinc phosphate/glass ionomer, and (3) polycarboxylate/self-adhesive resin. No differences in retention between the 2 coating techniques were found for any cement. However, air abrading the abutments resulted in increased retention of the castings for some of the cements. CONCLUSIONS: Half-coating of the restorations with cements did not result in reduced retention values compared to the complete coating technique, but air abrasion resulted in increased retention with some cements.  相似文献
