Hospital information systems have recently grown into huge, complex systems. As a result, the cost of development and maintenance of application programs has increased and become a serious problem. We have constructed an order entry system using server-client architecture as part of a hospital intranet information system in which a personal computer is used as a server. Using a commercial database management system and software development tools, an easily maintained order entry system was developed within only three months by one programer. Since slow response when the number of clients increased was possible, we measured turn-around times when one or ten clients accessed simultaneously. Turn-around times were 8 and 10 sec, respectively. Because we expect much better performance from personal computers in the near future, application systems using personal computers as Intranet servers will be cost and time effective and easy to develop and maintain.  相似文献

目的为了充分利用计算机网络资源,提高病案信息管理工作效率。方法运用SQL Server和Delphi设计和开发医院信息系统的病案接口系统,通过医院内局域网,按时间段读取和处理与病案首页相关的住院者数据,接收到统计病案系统数据库。结果按最初的设计,顺利地处理和接收了4万多条住院者信息,它已是本院病案室日常必用软件之一。结论本系统充分共享已有的网络数据资源,有效地减少了病案录入人员的工作量,提高了病案信息的质量,是一个较为成功的医院实用系统软件,值得推广和使用。  相似文献

Our hospital wired three LAN cables separately to improve the data distribution range. One LAN is between the various sections of the hospital (hospital LAN), another is within each section (section LAN), and the other is connected to the Internet (open LAN). The section LAN was connected to the hospital LAN to enable data exchange. Data from the section LAN for common use is collected through the hospital LAN and stored in the central server. The duplicate cabling and separate LANs increased the independence of each LAN and the system within each section. The section systems can be changed at anytime without the necessity of reconstructing the whole hospital information system. The data transfer speed of each cable increased. Hospital information processing systems often use a distributed-processing centralized management system. Because of advances in technology, each section can now take responsibility for developing their own system, making the responsibility of the information processing section responsible for hospital information systems more limited than previously. Herein, we show the merits of separate cable installation.  相似文献

Background As an important determinant of patient satisfaction, waiting time, has gained increasing attention in the field of health care services. The present study aimed to illustrate the distribution characteristics of waiting time in a community hospital and explore the impact of potential measures to reduce outpatient waiting time based on a computer simulation approach. Methods Dudng a one-month study period in 2006, a cross-sectional study was conducted in a community hospital located in Shanghai, China. Baseline data of outpatient waiting time were calculated according to the records of registration time and payment time. A simulation technique was adopted to investigate the impact of perspective reform methods on reducing waiting time. Results Data from a total of 10 092 patients and 26 816 medical consultations were collected in the study and 19 947 medical consultations were included. The average of the total visit time for outpatients in this hospital was 43.6 minutes in the morning, 19.1 minutes in the afternoon, and 34.3 minutes for the whole day studied period. The simulation results suggested that waiting time for outpatients could be greatly reduced through the introduction of appointment system and flexible demand-orientated doctor scheduling according to the numbers of patients waiting at different time of the workday. Conclusion Adoption of an appointment system and flexible management of doctor scheduling may be effective way to achieve decreased waiting time.  相似文献

The medical record system DocuLive EPR was installed at a “typical” ward at the Central Hospital of Akershus. Modules for laboratory order entry and reporting of results were evaluated prospectively using several information sources (hospital information systems, telephone records, user survey, semi-structured interviews with key informants). In the rapidly developing world of information technology, computers have been used in various settings for clinical medicine application. Studies have focused on computerized physician order entry (CPOE) system interface design and functional development to achieve a successful technology adoption process. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to evaluate physician satisfaction with the CPOE system. This survey included user attitude toward interface design, operation functions/usage effectiveness, interface usability, and user satisfaction. We used questionnaires for data collection from June to August 2008, and 225 valid questionnaires were returned with a response rate of 84.5?%. Canonical correlation was applied to explore the relationship of personal attributes and usability with user satisfaction. The results of the data analysis revealed that certain demographic groups showed higher acceptance and satisfaction levels, especially residents, those with less pressure when using computers or those with less experience with the CPOE systems. Additionally, computer use pressure and usability were the best predictors of user satisfaction. Based on the study results, it is suggested that future CPOE development should focus on interface design and content links, as well as providing educational training programs for the new users; since a learning curve period should be considered as an indespensible factor for CPOE adoption.  相似文献

Appropriate system sizing is essential to ensuring a reasonable computer response time for end users. A model is discussed that describes the type and number of interactions between user terminals and printers and the central processor for a comprehensive, integrated medical information system. The system modeled includes support to inpatient and outpatient order entry and results reporting for clinical services; registration; admission, disposition, and transfer; patient appointing; pharmacy, clinical laboratory, and radiology; medical record management; and electronic messages. Originally developed for use in benchmark testing of comprehensive systems designed for military hospitals and clinics, the model has been generalized to be applicable to other systems and settings. Results are presented for a routine busy day in a 200-bed teaching hospital providing extensive outpatient services, and a large free-standing clinic. The model results can be applied to several facets of system planning, including sizing of the central processor and communications network, determining the optimal number of storage devices and user devices, and fine tuning the user interface.  相似文献

Effective communication is the most important part of any healthcare organization. For many years, hospital nurse call solutions had been stand-alone systems with occasional integration to pocket paging for outputting patient call alerts to mobile staff. In the late 1990’s, technology enabled in-building wireless phones to supplement or replace paging systems as a means of not only sending alerts, but also enabling voice communication between mobile staff and patients. Today’s nurse call market requires integration of additional information from location and ADT (admit, discharge, transfer) systems into what have traditionally been nurse call applications. This system information is required not only at the nursing station, pagers, and phones, but also at PC’s placed on each patient care floor in hallways, nurse stations, and offices, and at areas away from the patients, including administrator and clinical engineering offices. It is crucial that nurses have the latest patient information in their hand wherever they go in the hospital. In this paper, MatchMaker.NET has been developed to integrate all these technologies into the hospital’s LAN to improve nurse-patient communication.  相似文献

目的利用排队论的相关知识,对医院中多服务台时两种排队模型进行分析比较。方法从医院信息系统(HIS)中提取有关排队数据,计算出平均到达率和平均服务率,运用排队论的数学模型,借助M/M/1模型和M/M/C模型的算法及有关辅助程序,得到评价指标。结果医院多服务台时,单一共享等待队列的性能显著优于多个独自的等待队列。结论在医院安排排队方式时,尽量采用单一共享等待队列。  相似文献

A new type of monitoring network system for perinatal care is proposed and has been developed. The patient monitoring system and data analyzing system are connected by a local area network (LAN). The doctor can retrieve past sampled data and results of data analysis, and make a detailed analysis at the same time that the patient is being monitored. The mainframe of the hospital information system (HIS) is connected with a data server in the perinatal care area via LAN. The database in perinatal care is supplied to the HIS and the doctor through this monitoring network system. If data sampled at maternity clinics or hospitals are once transmitted to the data server on LAN via the public telephone circuit, these data are available for the specialists on LAN.
