The expression of the preB cell receptor (preBCR), composed of the mu chain, surrogate light chains and the Igalpha /Igbeta signal transduction unit, permits further differentiation of Bcell precursors. C57BL/6 mice homozygous for an inactivating mutation of the membrane exon of the mu chain gene (C57BL/6muMT/muMT)) cannot form a preBCR and are, consequently, devoid of mature B lymphocytes. Here we present evidence that the block of B cell development by the muMT mutation is incomplete in BALB/c mice. Unlike C57BL/6muMT/muMT), BALB/cmuMT/muMT) mice generate small numbers of mature B cells, accumulate plasma cells and produce high levels of all immunoglobulin isotypes, except IgM. The observed phenomenon seems to be controlled by a single genetic locus that is not linked to IgH.  相似文献

Three susceptible mouse strains, i.e., BALB/c (H-2d), C57BL/6 (H-2b), and major histocompatibility complex-congenic BALB.B10 (H-2b), were infected intravenously with 4 x 10(6) CFU of live Mycobacterium bovis BCG and analyzed 4 weeks later for in vitro spleen cell cytokine secretion in response to purified protein derivative (PPD), BCG culture filtrate (CF), BCG cellular extract, total BCG, the purified extracellular 30-32-kDa antigen (the fibronectin-binding antigen 85), or the intracellular 65-kDa heat shock protein. C57BL/6 and BALB.B10 mice produced 5- to 10-fold more gamma interferon and interleukin-2 (IL-2) when stimulated with CF, PPD, and antigen 85 than BALB/c mice did. When stimulated with BCG extract and whole BCG, gamma interferon and IL-2 levels were generally lower and comparable in the three strains. IL-4 was detected in spleen cell culture supernatants from infected BALB/c mice but not from C57BL/6 or BALB.B10 mice. IL-5 could not be detected. C57BL/6 and BALB.B10 spleen cells also produced more tumor necrosis factor alpha and IL-6 after stimulation with PPD and CF than BALB/c cells did. Finally, BCG vaccination generated efficient protective immunity in C57BL/6 and BALB.B10 mice but not in BALB/c mice. These data suggest that secreted mycobacterial CF antigens selectively induce a strong TH1 response in BCG-infected C57BL/6 and BALB.B10 mice, whereas in BALB/c mice this response is partly counterbalanced by TH2 cells.  相似文献

Burkholderia pseudomalleiis the aetiological agent of melioidosis, a life-threatening bacterial disease occurring in many species of animals, including man. Infection in humans commonly manifests as one of three clinical presentations: acute, subacute or chronic disease. Investigations were undertaken to assess the suitability of BALB/c and C57Bl/6 mice as animal models for the different forms of human melioidosis. The course of infection in BALB/c mice was similar to that which occurs in acute human infection. By contrast, infection of C57Bl/6 mice appeared to mimic chronic human melioidosis. While BALB/c mice suffered a rapidly-progressive bacteraemia which resulted in host death by 96 h, C57Bl/6 mice were able to prevent this, and typically remained asymptomatic for up to 6 weeks. LD50values of 4 cells and 2.5×104cells for BALB/c and C57Bl/6 mice, respectively, reflect these observations. The heightened level of resistance toB. pseudomalleiobserved in C57Bl/6 mice was suggested to have a genetic basis, when the susceptibilities of first filial and reciprocal backcross generations were examined. Growth kinetics ofB. pseudomalleiwithin BALB/c and C57Bl/6 peritoneal exudate cell (PEC) cultures were examined to investigate PEC microbicidal efficiency as a determinant of host susceptibility. C57Bl/6 PEC cultures exhibited greater microbicidal efficiency towardsB. pseudomalleiwhen compared to BALB/c cells, indicating that susceptibility may be determined by non-specific, cellular mechanisms. Collectively, these results suggest that the BALB/c and C57Bl/6 strains of mice may provide excellent models for acute and chronic human melioidosis, respectively.  相似文献

A comparison has been made of thein vitro histamine releasing capacity of peritoneal mast cells from BALB/c, C3H/A, C57BL/6J and CFW mouse strains in response to immunological and non-immunological stimuli namely antimouse IgE, Concanavalin A (Con A), ionophore A23187 and sodium fluoride. Anti-IgE-induced histamine secretion was highest in mast cells of CFW mice, intermediate in the cells of C57BL/6J and C3H/A mice and lowest in the cells of BALB/c mice. Similar, although less pronounced, strain-dependent differences were observed in Con A-induced release. Mast cells of C57BL/6J and CFW mice were significantly more sensitive to the action of ionophore A23187 compared to the two other strains, although the cells of each strain responded in different manner. Sodium fluoride-induced histamine release occurred in two ways: from mast cells of BALB/c and C57BL/6J it was dose-dependent at NaF concentrations of 1–15 mM, whereas cells of the two other strains were insensitive to the action of NaF at concentrations of 1–5 mM but at a concentration of 7.5 mM, a very strong potentiation of release was observed. Our results suggest functional heterogeneity of mast cells from various strains of mice, a point to be considered in further studies of mast cell function. This work was supported by the Polish Academy of Sciences (Grant No. 10.5).  相似文献

Virtual memory (VM) CD8+ T cells are present in unimmunized mice, yet possess T‐cell receptors specific for foreign antigens. To date, VM cells have only been characterized in C57BL/6 mice. Here, we assessed the cytokine requirements for VM cells in C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice. As reported previously, VM cells in C57BL/6 mice rely mostly on IL‐15 and marginally on IL‐4. In stark contrast, VM cells in BALB/c mice rely substantially on IL‐4 and marginally on IL‐15. Further, NKT cells are the likely source of IL‐4, because CD1d‐deficient mice on a BALB/c background have significantly fewer VM cells. Notably, this NKT/IL‐4 axis contributes to appropriate effector and memory T‐cell responses to infection in BALB/c mice, but not in C57BL/6 mice. However, the effects of IL‐4 are manifest prior to, rather than during, infection. Thus, cytokine‐mediated control of the precursor population affects the development of virus‐specific CD8+ T‐cell memory. Depending upon the genetic background, different cytokines encountered before infection may influence the subsequent ability to mount primary and memory anti‐viral CD8+ T‐cell responses.  相似文献

Anti-inulin [β-(2 → 1) polyfructosan Brucella abortus (InuBA)] and anti-grass levan [β-(2 → 6) polyfructosan] antibody responses in BALB/c and C57BL mice and in their F1 and backcross progeny, as well as in immunoglobulin congenic and Bailey recombinant inbred strains derived from BALB/c and C57BL mice, were examined. The anti-inulin antibodies could accommodate both β-(2 → 1)- and β-(2 → 6)-linked polyfructosans, and 97% of the anti-inulin plaque-forming cells (PFC) from BALB/c mice expressed the cross-reactive idiotypes (InuIdX) shared by the BALB/c inulin- and levan-binding myeloma proteins. Of the C57BL mice, only 25% produced high anti-inulin response, and none exhibited the InuIdX of BALB/c anti-inulin antibodies. The percentages of InuIdX+ anti-inulin PFC were also examined in other strains with high anti-inulin response. In C58 and AL mice, 80% of anti-inulin PFC were InuIdX+, whereas in A/He and RIII mice, only 40% were InuIdX+. All strains examined developed high anti-grass levan response, and the antibodies were specific for β-(2 → 6) structures and did not exhibit InuIdX. Comparison of the magnitude of the anti-inulin antibody titers in response to InuBA in BALB/c, C57BL, and their F1 and backcross progeny, as well as in immunoglobulin congenic (i.e., B.C-8, BAB-14, and C.B-20) and recombinant inbred strains derived from BALB/c and C57BL mice, showed that all mice having the IgCHa(BALB/c) allotype gave high anti-inulin response. In addition to the InuIdX structural genes, the effects of allotype-linked or unlinked “regulatory” genes were also indicated by the lower anti-inulin response in B.C-8 and BAB-14 mice compared with BALB/c mice and the higher anti-inulin response in C.B-20 mice compared with C57BL mice. A multigene interaction in controlling the production of the anti-inulin antibodies was implicated.  相似文献

The susceptibilities of C3H/HeN, BALB/c, and C57BL/6N mouse strains to group B streptococci (GBS) infection were evaluated. C3H/HeN mice developed severe polyarthitis; mild lesions and no lesions were observed in BALB/c and C57BL/6N mice, respectively. A correlation between the severity of arthritis, the number of GBS in the joints, and local interleukin-6 and interleukin-1beta production was evident.  相似文献

A comparative antigenic analysis was carried out to determine whether cross-reactivity exists between the major idiotypic responses to (4-hydroxy-3-nitrophenyl)acetyl (NP) in BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice. Extensive cross-reactivity exists between the NPa (BALB/c) and NPb (C57BL/6) allotype-linked idiotypic responses to NP. The cross-reactive determinants of the NPb idiotype are confined to one particular group of NPb-positive monoclonal antibodies. The extent of cross-reactivity between this group of C57BL/6 antibodies and idiotype-positive monoclonal antibodies of BALB/c is so great that they cannot be readily distinguished as NPb- or NPa-positive antibodies with polyclonal anti-idiotypic reagents. That this cross-reactivity is not unique to monoclonal antibodies was confirmed by the demonstration of these cross-reactive determinants in the immune sera of individual BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice. Additionally, evidence was obtained from these experiments and from earlier ones from this laboratory which suggests that the BALB/c idiotypic response to NP-protein conjugate is more homogeneous than the C57BL/6 idiotypic responses.  相似文献

After cutaneous injection of promastigotes of an isolate of the intramacrophage protozoan parasite, Leishmania tropica major, mouse strains develop chronic cutaneous lesions or show a resolving pattern of disease. On this basis, they can be classified as resistant (e.g. CBA/H and C57BL/6) or susceptible (e.g. BALB/c, BALB/c.H-2b and BALB/c.H-2k). Hypothymic nude (nu/nu) mice of either BALB/c, CBA/H or C57BL/6 genotype are susceptible to chronic disease. However, nude mice of these genotypes, including BALB/c, are resistant to chronic cutaneous leishmaniasis when injected at the time of parasite challenge with small numbers of H-2 compatible lymphoid cells from normal mice. Nude mice remain susceptible when injected with fully H-2 incompatible cells. Using cells from H-2 mutant mice for reconstitution of resistance in C57BL/6.nu/nu mice, evidence was obtained that I region compatibility is necessary for cells to mediate host-protective effects. Cells from chronically-diseased BALB/c mice do not have protective effects in BALB/c.nu/nu mice at any cell dose and will abrogate the resistance-promoting effect of lymphoid cell populations from chronically-diseased BALB/c.H-2k and BALB/c.H-2b mice can be demonstrated when assayed at certain cell doses in H-2 compatible CBA/H.nu/nu and C57BL/6.nu/nu mice, respectively. The data suggest that chronically-diseased (genetically-susceptible) mice contain a mixture of resistance-promoting and disease-promoting T cells in their peripheral lymphoid organs and that expression of the resistance-promoting subset can occur in nude mice of resistant genotype. Previous data have indicated that Lyl+2? T cells are efficient mediators of both T cell-dependent activities. No evidence for the operation of disease-promoting or resistance-promoting antibodies in perpetuation or resolution of disease has been obtained in extensive serum transfer experiments. Some discrepancies exist in the literature on the question of the dominance of susceptibility or resistance in F1 hybrid mice. A re-examination of susceptibility/resistance in F1 hybrids between BALB/c and several other parental strains was undertaken using cloned pathogenic promastigotes derived from a heterogeneous L. t. major isolate in order to reduce effects of parasite heterogeneity in the analysis. Resistance was dominant in some but not all F1 hybrids, with most showing a delayed healing pattern of disease relative to the resistant parental strain. Despite the use of genetically-homogeneous parasites, the analysis was complicated by variability within groups of F1 hybrid mice as well as between males and females and between F1 hybrids of reciprocal crosses. A hypothesis based on antigen and H-2 expression on infected macrophages is advanced to account for the balance between the effects of resistance-promoting and disease-promoting Lyl+2? T cells in mice of various genotypes.  相似文献

Interleukin (IL)-5 is produced by both T cells and eosinophils and has been implicated in lymphocyte and eosinophil differentiation and maturation. The extent to which differences in IL-5 expression contribute to genetic variability in parasite immunity was investigated by comparing eosinophilia, IgE production, mastocytosis and IL-5 mRNA+ cells following Nippostrongylus brasiliensis infection of resistant (BALB/c) and susceptible (C57BL/6) mice. In uninfected mice, IL-5 mRNA+ cells detected by in situ hybridization were distributed throughout the lamina propria and crypt regions of the small intestine in both strains, but were 1.5-fold higher in BALB/c than in C57BL/6 mice. Following N. brasiliensis infection, the numbers of IL-5 mRNA+ cells in BALB/c mice continued to increase until day 11 post-infection at which time they were more than 4-fold more numerous than in uninfected control mice of the same strain. In C57BL/6 mice, IL-5 mRNA+ cells reached peak numbers on day 7 post-infection, only 1.5-fold higher than uninfected controls, but the numbers began to decline thereafter. At all time points after day 5, the numbers of IL-5 mRNA+ cells in the gut of C57BL/6 mice were significantly lower than BALB/c mice. The differences in numbers of IL-5 mRNA+ cells induced by infection in each strain of mice correlated with changes in blood and intestinal eosinophilia, mastocytosis and IgE production and was reflected in differences in worm expulsion and egg counts. Although numbers of intestinal IgA-containing cells increased in both strains after infection, there was no difference between strains except at day 11 when there were significantly higher numbers in BALB/c mice than in C57BL/6 mice. These results suggest that IL-5 is an important regulatory factor determining host immunity to parasite infection and that differential regulation of IL-5 expression explains in part the observed strain differences with respect to parasite resistance.  相似文献

The cell nature of follicular dendritic cells (FDC), a member of dendritic cell group, was examined to see whether or not they are recirculating cells on splenic implantation study. Slices of BALB/c mouse spleen were implanted into C57BL/6 mice neonatally thymectomized and reconstructed by F1 (BALB/c x C57BL/6) thymus grafting. On H-2 class I immunohistology 6 months later, host spleens consisted of only the cells including FDC of host (C57BL/6) type. On the other hand, FDC of regenerated splenic grafts were of splenic donor (BALB/c) origin and haematogenic cells including germinal centre lymphocytes were of the host (C57BL/6) origin. The fact that the FDC in the regenerated splenic grafts reside irrespective of the replacement by host recirculating cells indicates that FDC belong primarily to stationary cell populations but not recirculating cell populations.  相似文献

Background

Burkholderia pseudomalleiis the causative agent for melioidosis. For many bacterial infections, cytokine dysregulation is one of the contributing factors to the severe clinical outcomes in the susceptible hosts. The C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice have been established as a differential model of susceptibility in murine melioidosis. In this study, we compared the innate IFN-γ response toB. pseudomalleibetween the C57BL/6 and BALB/c splenocytes and characterized the hyperproduction of IFN-γ in the relatively susceptible BALB/c micein vitro.

Results

Naïve BALB/c splenocytes were found to produce more IFN-γ in response to live bacterial infection compared to C57BL/6 splenocytes. Natural killer cells were found to be the major producers of IFN-γ, while T cells and Gr-1intermediatecells also contributed to the IFN-γ response. Although anti-Gr-1 depletion substantially reduced the IFN-γ response, this was not due to the contribution of Gr-1high, Ly-6G expressing neutrophils. We found no differences in the cell types making IFN-γ between BALB/c and C57BL/6 splenocytes. Although IL-12 is essential for the IFN-γ response, BALB/c and C57BL/6 splenocytes made similar amounts of IL-12 after infection. However, BALB/c splenocytes produced higher proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β, TNF-α, IL-6, IL-18 than C57BL/6 splenocytes after infection withB. pseudomallei.

Conclusion

Higher percentages of Gr-1 expressing NK and T cells, poorer ability in controlling bacteria growth, and higher IL-18 could be the factors contributing to IFN-γ hyperproduction in BALB/c mice.  相似文献

T cells and IFN-γ are essential for controlling the reactivation of toxoplasmic encephalitis (TE), regardless of whether mice are susceptible or resistant to TE. It has been demonstrated that CD8+ T cells exhausted in chronic Toxoplasma gondii infection result in TE reactivation in C57BL/6 mice. However, this phenomenon had not been reported in genetically TE-resistant BALB/c mice. To explore the immune mechanism of TE in different backgrounds of mice, the dynamic expressions of Tim-3, programmed cell death 1 (PD-1), and their ligands (galectin-9, PD-L1, PD-L2) in brain tissues were compared between TE-resistant BALB/c and -susceptible C57BL/6 mice infected with Prugniaud (Pru, a type II strain) of T. gondii in this study. Compared with infected BALB/c mice, there were remarkable pathological changes with significantly higher histological scores in the brains of C57BL/6 mice at 14, 35, 50, and 70 days postinfection (p.i., P?<?0.01); significantly increased mRNA expressions of Tim-3 at 35 (P?<?0.05) and 70 (P?<?0.01)?days p.i.; and significantly increased PD-1 at all the times p.i. (P?<?0.01) in the brains of infected C57BL/6 mice. Furthermore, there were significantly increased mRNA expressions of PD-L1 in the brain of C57BL/6 mice than that in BALB/c mice at all the times p.i. (P?<?0.01). Although the mRNA expressions of galectin-9 (ligand of Tim-3) were increased in the brains of both lineages of mice at all the times p.i., it showed no differences between the two lineages of mice. Our data suggest that the differences of Tim-3 and PD-1/PD-L1 expressions may contribute to the different immune responses between TE-resistant BALB/c and -susceptible C57BL/6 mice infected with Pru strain of T. gondii.  相似文献

We investigated the phenotypic basis for genetically determined differences in susceptibility and resistance to Chlamydia muridarum pulmonary infection using BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice. Following C. muridarum intranasal inoculation, the intensity of infection was very different between BALB/c and C57BL/6 beginning as early as 3 days post‐infection. Intrapulmonary cytokine patterns also differed at early time‐points (days 2 and 4) between these two strains of mice. The early recruitment of neutrophils to lung tissue was greater in BALB/c than in C57BL/6 mice and correlated with a higher number of inclusion forming units (IFU) of C. muridarum. At day 12 post‐infection, BALB/c mice continued to demonstrate a greater burden of infection, significantly higher lung cytokine levels for tumour necrosis factor‐α and interleukin‐17 (IL‐17) and a significantly lower level for interferon‐γ than did C57BL/6 mice. In vitro, bone‐marrow‐derived dendritic cells (BMDCs) from BALB/c mice underwent less functional maturation in response to C. muridarum infection than did BMDCs from C57BL/6 mice. The BMDCs of BALB/c mice expressed lower levels of activation markers (CD80, CD86, CD40 and major histocompatibility complex class II) and secreted less IL‐12 and more IL‐23 than BMDCs from C57BL/6 mice. Overall, the data demonstrate that the differences exhibited by BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice following C. muridarum pulmonary infection are associated with differences in early innate cytokine and cellular responses that are correlated with late differences in T helper type 17 versus type 1 adaptive immune responses.  相似文献

Differential aspects of the host immune response generated by Trypanosoma cruzi infection were examined in two different mouse strains, BALB/c (haplotype H2-Kd) which does not overcome the acute phase of the infection and C57BL/6 (haplotype H2-Kb) which survives to the acute phase. After infection an increase in CD3+ T cells was observed in both mouse strains in the peritoneal cavity. However, while the CD3+ T cells from the BALB/c mice showed an increase in the IL-4 cytokine expression level, the same type of cells from the C57BL/6 mice showed an increase in IFN-gamma expression. In addition, only the macrophages from the C57BL/6 mice were activated secreting IL-12 and TNF-alpha and producing, moreover, high levels of nitrites. It was observed that also after parasite infection the expression of macrophage and dendritic cells CD40 and CD86 co-stimulation molecules from the spleen were diminished in BALB/c but not in C57BL/6 mice. In correlation with this observation the macrophages from the spleen of infected BALB/c mice secreted lower concentrations of nitrites than the C57BL/6 mouse cells. Also, the spleen dendritic cells from infected BALB/c mice had a small potential to present alloantigens in contrast to that observed in the infected C57BL/6 mouse cells.  相似文献

Infection with the soil bacterium Burkholderia pseudomallei can result in a variety of clinical outcomes, including asymptomatic infection. The initial immune defense mechanisms which might contribute to the various outcomes after environmental contact with B. pseudomallei are largely unknown. We have previously shown that relatively resistant C57BL/6 mice can restrict bacterial B. pseudomallei growth more efficiently within 1 day after infection than highly susceptible BALB/c mice. By using this model, our study aimed to investigate the role of macrophage-mediated effector mechanisms during early B. pseudomallei infection. Depletion of macrophages revealed an essential role of these cells in the early control of infection in BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice. Strikingly, the comparison of the anti-B. pseudomallei activity of bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMM) from C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice revealed an enhanced bactericidal activity of C57BL/6 BMM, particularly after gamma interferon (IFN-gamma) stimulation. In vitro experiments with C57BL/6 gp91phox-/- BMM showed an impaired intracellular killing of B. pseudomallei compared to experiments with wild-type cells, although C57BL/6 gp91phox-/- cells still exhibited substantial killing activity. The anti-B. pseudomallei activity of C57BL/6 iNOS-/- BMM was not impaired. C57BL/6 gp91phox-/- mice lacking a functional NADPH oxidase were more susceptible to infection, whereas C57BL/6 mice lacking inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) did not show increased susceptibility but were slightly more resistant during the early phase of infection. Thus, our data suggest that IFN-gamma-mediated but iNOS-independent anti-B. pseudomallei mechanisms of macrophages might contribute to the enhanced resistance of C57BL/6 mice compared to that of BALB/c mice in the early phase of infection.  相似文献

Irradiated C57BL/6 (B6) and C3H mice were reconstituted with bone marrow cells from BALB/c mice. The chimaeric mice, [BALB/c----B6] and [BALB/c----C3H], developed and expressed contact sensitivity to DNFB. The in vivo responses paralleled to proliferative responses of regional lymph node cells of the chimaeras to DNBS in vitro. Furthermore, intravenous administration of DNBS rendered the chimaeras tolerant to subsequent sensitization with DNFB. The tolerance was transferred to lightly irradiated BALB/c mice by the spleen and lymph node T cells. These results represent marked contrast to our previous observations that [B6----C3H] and [B6----AKR] chimaeras were unable to develop specific unresponsiveness to stimulation with DNFB by the intravenous route. The controversial observations seen in the chimaeras prepared by BALB/c bone marrows and those prepared by B6 cells are discussed.  相似文献

Granuloma formation is an inflammatory response of the host against invading pathogens or indigestible substances. We generated mesenteric oil granulomas by injecting pristane into the peritoneal cavity (PC) of mice, and compared oil granuloma formation in the C57BL/6J and BALB/cByJ strains of mice. The formation and kinetics of oil granulomas were distinct between the two strains. In C57BL/6J mice, injected pristane induced oil granuloma formation at both the mesenteric centers (MG) and margins (SG). MG was resolving by 11 weeks, and SG persisted. In BALB/cByJ mice, MG developed slower but persisted longer than in C57BL/6J mice, and SG resolved sooner than in C57BL/6J mice. Injection of India ink revealed that phagocytes were localised mainly to the SG in C57BL/6J mice, but were located diffusely in both MG and SG of BALB/cByJ mice. SG cells expressed more monocyte chemotactic protein‐1 (MCP‐1) mRNA than MG cells in C57BL/6J mice, but there was no difference in MCP‐1 expression between the MG and SG in BALB/cByJ mice. These observations suggest that the recruitment of inflammatory leucocytes under the direction of chemokines differentiates the patterns of granuloma responses to pristane in C57BL/6J and BALB/cByJ mice.  相似文献

We have previously reported that differences in early production of interleukin 12 (IL-12) by dendritic cells (DC) underlies the difference between the susceptibilities to Listeria monocytogenes of C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice. To elucidate mechanisms for the different abilities of DC to produce cytokine in C57BL/6 and BALB/c mice, we examined Toll-like receptor (TLR) expression by DC and their responses in vitro to known microbial ligands for TLRs. We found that DC isolated from the spleens of naive C57BL/6 mice preferentially expressed TLR9 mRNA, whereas DC from naive BALB/c mice strongly expressed TLR2, -4, -5, and -6 mRNAs. C57BL/6 DC produced a higher level of IL-12p40 in response to the ligands for TLR4 (lipopolysaccharide), TLR2 (lipoprotein), and TLR9 (CpG), whereas BALB/c DC responded to these ligands by producing a larger amount of monocyte chemoattractant protein 1. C57BL/6 DC expressed higher levels of CD40 and Stat4 than BALB/c DC did, suggesting that naive C57BL/6 mice contained more-mature subsets of DC than naive BALB/c mice. Differences in reactivities of DC to microbial molecules through TLRs may be associated with susceptibility and resistance to Listeria infection in BALB/c and C57BL/6 mice.  相似文献
