The 99mtechnetium pertechnetate nuclear red blood cell scan proved to be a valuable diagnostic tool in localizing the site of bleeding, from a Meckel's diverticulum, in a 41-year-old man. When peptic ulcer or colorectal disease has been excluded by panendoscopy, bleeding Meckel's diverticulum remains a diagnostic consideration, even in adults. We provide a 20-year list of bleeding Meckel's diverticula reported in adults, along with a brief discussion.  相似文献

Bleeding Meckel's diverticulum tends to be a complication of ectopic gastric mucosa. It has been known that the gastric acid and digestive fluid produced from the ectopic gastric mucosa cause peptic ulcer, which leads to bleeding. When the ectopic gastric mucosa is entirely formed by the pyloric gland, however, ulcer formation may result from factors other than gastric acid and digestive fluid. This is a report of an adult case of bleeding Meckel's diverticulum with ectopic gastric mucosa in whom mechanical stimulation was suggested as a cause of the erosion and ulceration, resulting in bleeding.  相似文献

Gangrene of Meckel's diverticulum is uncommon and its pre-operative diagnosis is difficult. We report three cases with different presentations--simulating acute appendicitis, intestinal obstruction, and strangulation of the bowel.  相似文献

Our series of 43 complicated and 35 uncomplicated cases of Meckel's diverticula is reviewed. The complicated courses displayed the typical symptoms, e.g. ileus, hemorrhage, inflammation, perforation with peritonitis. Indication and tactics and techniques of surgical intervention are based on the individual course. Incidental diagnosis of Meckel's diverticulum during coeliotomy indicates resection, because diverticula of normal gross appearance present with microscopic alterations in 29% which could evoke major complications.  相似文献

Meckel's diverticulum is the most common anomaly of the intestine. It is usually asymptomatic but approximately 4% are symptomatic with complications such as bleeding, intestinal obstruction, and inflammation. Gastrointestinal bleeding is the most common presenting symptoms of Meckel's diverticulum in children, however, intestinal obstruction is the most common complications in adult patients. Reported mechanism of intestinal obstruction in Meckel's diverticulum include intussusception, adhesion, and volvulus. Recently, we experienced a case with Meckel's diverticulum associated with ileal stricture causing recurrent partial intestinal obstruction in a 48-year-old man. In contrast to other published cases of small bowel obstruction in Meckel's diverticulum, this case was caused by ileal stricture associated with Meckel's diverticulum.  相似文献
