Post‐secondary students are at a heightened risk of psychosis, yet little is known about this population. The aim of this study was to conduct a mixed‐methods systematic review of psychosis among post‐secondary students, including student characteristics, overall prevalence, risk factors, interventions, and their reported experiences. Procedures were modelled on the Joanna Briggs Institute approach, while PRISMA guided conduct and reporting. A librarian created a systematic search of nine databases, and quality was assessed using JBI Critical Appraisal Tools. We pooled and analysed data according to objectives and recorded data using synthesis tables and narrative summaries. 26 articles published between 2006 and 2018 are included. The average age of participants was 21 years, and most identified as female and Caucasian. The prevalence of psychosis was often measured in a way that limited comparison across studies. Risk factors associated with symptoms of psychosis included substance use, depression, and younger age. Other risk factors trending towards a relationship included racial discrimination and anxiety. Protective factors included self‐esteem and self‐concept clarity. Five interventions were studied, with mixed results, and only three studies reported on the experience of students. While five promising interventions are identified, inadequate testing and replication limit confidence in their effectiveness and there is a notable deficit in qualitative evidence exploring the experiences of these students. Integrating knowledge on risk factors, interventions, and experiences of students with psychosis will help tailor and facilitate their health care while protecting their right to education. 相似文献

Background
A number of studies have suggested a link between the patient's psyche and the course of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Although pharmacotherapy with antidepressants has not been widely explored, some investigators have proposed that treating psychological co-morbidities with antidepressants may help to control disease activity. To date a systematic analysis of the available studies assessing the efficacy of antidepressants for the control of somatic symptoms in IBD patients has not been performed. Methods
We searched electronic databases, without any language restriction. All relevant papers issued after 1990 were examined. Results
12 relevant publications were identified. All of them referred to non-randomised studies. Antidepressants reported in these publications included paroxetine, bupropion, amitriptyline, phenelzine, and mirtazapine. In 10 articles, paroxetine, bupropion, and phenelzine were suggested to be effective for treating both psychological and somatic symptoms in patients suffering from IBD. Amitriptyline was found ineffective for treating somatic symptoms of IBD. Mirtazapine was not recommended for IBD patients. Conclusion
Although most of reviewed papers suggest a beneficial effect of treatment with antidepressants in patients with IBD, due to the lack of reliable data, it is impossible to judge the efficacy of antidepressants in IBD. Properly designed trials are justified and needed based upon the available uncontrolled data.5.

There exists a growing need for health and service providers to respond to persons in a manner that recognizes the prevalence and impact of trauma in individuals and prevent inadvertent re‐traumatization in the routine process of care. The experience of mental health crisis in of itself can have traumatic and impactful effects on individuals. Trauma‐informed approaches to care offer a framework to provide crisis intervention responses that are based on the acknowledgement of the prevalence and impact of trauma and define trauma not by the event per se, but by the impact of an experience of trauma. The integration of trauma‐informed principles in the context of crisis intervention is a current practice gap. In order to inform a portion of a best‐practice guideline for registered nurses and the interprofessional team, a systematic literature review was conducted to primarily identify nursing interventions within four weeks of a mental health crisis, with a secondary focus on identifying particular interventions that included trauma‐informed principles. The systematic review yielded 21 quantitative and qualitative studies related to nursing interventions for mental health crisis, 10 of which referred to one or more principles of trauma‐informed approaches. There was a lack of studies on nursing interventions explicitly linked to implementation of trauma‐informed principles, highlighting future research needs and focused efforts to integrate trauma‐informed principles into crisis intervention practices. 相似文献

BackgroundInflammation has a significant role in the onset and progression of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Increasing attention has been paid to the use of acupuncture in IBD patients; however, its regulatory effects on inflammatory factors in IBD still require validation. Here, we systematically evaluated the effects of acupuncture on inflammatory factors in IBD patients.MethodsEight electronic databases were searched for studies that met the inclusion criteria. After evaluating the quality of the studies selected by two reviewers, the meta-analysis was performed to assess the efficacy of acupuncture in IBD patients and the impact on inflammatory factors (TNF-α, IL-1, IL-8 and IL-10).ResultsFour randomized controlled trials with a total of 228 patients satisfied the inclusion criteria. Acupuncture has a positive therapeutic impact on IBD (MD = 1.22, 95% CI [1.07, 1.39], P = 0.003). Moreover, it regulates the levels of TNF-α (MD =−60.58, 95% CI [−100.30, −20.89], P = 0.003), IL-8 (MD =−56.40, 95% CI [−60.02, −52.14], P < 0.00001) and IL-10 (MD =35.96, 95% CI [11.02, 60.91], P = 0.005) in IBD patients. However, the P value of meta-analysis in IL-1 great than 0.05.(MD =−27.90, 95% CI [−97.82, 42.02], P = 0.11).ConclusionAcupuncture has a positive therapeutic impact on IBD and can effectively regulate inflammatory factors in IBD patients. TNF-α, IL-8 and IL-10 are more appropriate inflammatory indicators for clinically evaluating the anti-inflammatory response in the blood of IBD patients by acupuncture. 相似文献
