In experiments on dogs the ATP concentration fell (by 38%) and the ADP and AMP concentrations rose by 121 and 875%, respectively, in the cortical gray matter in the preagonal period after hypovolemic hypotension for 4 h. Reflecting these changes, the energy potential fell from 0.931 to 0.736 (P<0.05). Acute hypervolemia induced in experiments on dogs by infusion of dextran, did not produce decompensation of the circulation in animals whose cardiac output was sharply depressed in the postresuscitation period after circulatory arrest lasting 15 min. The increase in the venous return and change in the conditions of the peripheral circulation as a result of dextran administration temporarily increased the central venous pressure, caused a lasting increase in the arterial pressure, cardiac output, stroke volume, work of the left ventricle, and total oxygen consumption by the body, and lowered the peripheral vascular resistance. In model experiments on dogs subjected to isolated compression ischemia of the brain for 20 min, a low cardiac output syndrome also developed.Presented by Academician of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR N. Changes in the central hemodynamics were compared with the outcome of resuscitation in 18 dogs after circulatory arrest lasting 12 min caused by ventricular fibrillation. In nine animals resuscitated with evidently complete neurological recovery moderate hypertension was observed in the first 10 min after the beginning of the resuscitation measures: The mean arterial pressure (MAP) was 175.0±8.9 mm Hg. In most of the dogs which died subsequently MAP in this period was not higher than initially, but two animals showed severe hypertension (MAP about 200 mm Hg). In this same period differences also were found in other parameters of the central hemodynamics. Moderate hypertension in the first 10 min of the postresuscitation period evidently leads to rapid recovery of an adequate level of the peripheral blood flow in tissues and organs and, as a result, it aids the survival of animals after a long period of circulatory arrest.Research Laboratory of General Resuscitation, Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, Moscow. The lipolytic activity of adipose tissue (LAAT), the concentration of nonesterified fatty acids (NEFA) in the blood and adipose tissue, and the concentrations of ketone bodies and -lipoproteins in the blood of dogs were determined after lethal exsanguination and in the post-resuscitation period. During agony activation of lipolysis was found in the adipose tissue, the levels of NEFA and -lipoproteins were lowered, and the concentration of ketone bodies in the blood was increased. At the end of the third minute of clinical death inhibition of lipolysis developed and the NEFA concentration in the adipose tissue increased. The blood levels of NEFA and -lipoproteins fell 1 h after resuscitation, whereas the level of ketone bodies rose; these changes were accompanied by some decrease in LAAT. In the late postresuscitation period (1st, 3rd, and 7th days) LAAT and the blood levels of NEFA, ketone bodies, and -lipoproteins all increased. For detoxication purposes in the early postresuscitation period hemadsorption on activated charcoal was used. Hemadsorption in dogs resuscitated after circulatory arrest for 15 min as a result of electric shock led to earlier recovery of the corneal reflexes and significantly improved the outcome of resuscitation both by removal of incompletely oxidized metabolic products and also, perhaps, removal of other toxic products.Research Laboratory of General Resuscitation, Moscow. The rats survived 10- or 15-min systemic blood flow arrest were exposed to various extreme factors within the following 2 months. It was found that the processes leading to functional isolation of CNS play a protective role: they moderate behavioral response to acute stress and alleviate the degree of neuron damage induced by long-term stress during acquisition of a complex food-procuring reflex.  相似文献

Experiments on dogs showed that the erectile phase of shock induced by Cannon's method can be divided into two periods on the basis of changes in parameters of the systemic circulation. The first period has many features in common with defensive reactions in response to the appearance of danger and the action of powerful nonspecific stimuli and is characterized by an increase in the return of blood to the heart, an increase in cardiac output, and a decrease in peripheral vascular tone. The second period is characterized by commencing decompensation of functions of the cardiovascular system.
