Diarrhea can occur at an early or advanced stage of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) as a usual symptom in people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. While it is usually not fatal, it can influence patients’ quality of life seriously. It has shown to be efficacious and improves people’simmune statusto a certain extent to treat HIV/AIDS?related diarrhea on the basis ofsyndrome differentiation and treatment or Chinese herbs plus conventional treatment. Therefore, it may have a good application potential. Here, we outline a protocol for the systematic review of this health?care intervention, with the aim to evaluate the beneficial effects and safety of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for patients who suffer from HIV/AIDS?associated diarrhea. Randomized controlled trials that compare Chinese herbs with placebo or other effective treatments will be searched and included, in spite of publication status or language. The primary outcomes include diarrhea frequency and fecal character. The databases we will search as follows: China Science and Technology Journal Database (VIP), Chinese Biomedical Literature Database (SinoMed), Wanfang Data, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, PubMed and the CENTRAL in Cochrane Library. Two authors will respectively conduct the screening of trials, data extraction, and use the Cochrane risk of bias tool to assess the methodological quality. We will analyze the data and perform a meta-analysis if possible. We intend to identify potential therapeutic modalities that may be of benefit to inform clinical practice by supplying existing evidence of the helpful effects and safety of TCM to treat patients suffering from HIV/AIDS?associated diarrhea.  相似文献

Objective: "Same treatment for different diseases" is a unique treatment strategy under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) theory.Codonopsis Radix(Codonopsis pilosula,Dangshen in Chinese)with spleen-fortifying effect was employed to understand the strategy of "Same treatment for different diseases",based on its common mechanism in the treatment of gastric diseases including gastric ulcer, gastritis and gastric cancer via network pharmacology research. Methods:Network pharmacology research methods were used to analyze the interaction network and potential mechanisms of Dangshen in treating gastric ulcer, gastritis and gastric cancer. The active components and their target proteins of Dangshen were integrated from TCMSP,BATMAN-TCM databases. The targets of gastric ulcer, gastritis and gastric cancer were collected through GeneCards,PubMed,TDD and DisGeNET Database.Through screening, the key components and the key targets of Dangshen in treating gastric ulcer, gastritis and gastric cancer were obtained. After KEGG pathway analysis and GO analysis, the important pathways and biological processes were analyzed. Results:Through data and literature mining, the common and specific pharmaceutical effects and mechanism of Dangshen were summarized in these three gastric lesions. It was shown that Dangshen mainly acted on gastric ulcer, gastritis and gastric cancer through the overall regulation of the PI3K-AkT signaling pathway. With the development of the disease,it will gradually increase the control of inflammation through TNF,NF-κB and other inflammation-related signaling pathways to reduce inflammatory damage. For tumorigenesis,it pays more attention to inhibiting the ErbB signaling pathways to reduce the proliferation and migration of tumor cells. In addition,Dangshen's regulation of HIF-1 signaling pathway may also be beneficial for the treatment of gastric ulcer, gastritis and gastric cancer. Conclusion:Dangshen achieves spleen-fortifying effect on gastric diseases including gastric ulcer, gastritis and gastric cancer through multiple targets in multiple pathways, especially PI3K-AKT pathway and HIF-1 pathway. It could provide a scientific basis for understanding the strategy of "Same treatment for different diseases" in traditional Chinese medicine.  相似文献

Optic nerve contusion is a commonly-seen eye injury, which is mostly caused by traffic accident, collision, and falling. Early diagnosis and timely emergency treatment can make such patients restore vision to a certain extent. Otherwise, there may appear optic atrophy or loss of vision. At present, in the treatment of this disease, cortical hormone, dehydrating agent, vasodilator, vitamin, energy mixture and neurotrophic agent, or surgical operation can all give certain therapeutic effect. In the recent 5 years, the Department of Ophthalmology of the Hospital Affiliated to Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine has adopted acupuncture for treatment of optic nerve contusion, and obtained quite good therapeutic results. Some typical cases are reported in the following.  相似文献

Objective: “Same treatment for different diseases” is a unique treatment strategy in traditional Chinese medicine. Two kinds of malignant respiratory diseases endanger human health-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and lung cancer. Citrus Grandis Exocarpium (Huajuhong in Chinese, HJH), a famous herbal, is always applied by Chinese medicine practitioners to dispersion the lung toresolve phlegm based on “syndrome differentiation and treatment” theory. However, the common mechanism for HJH’s treatment of COPD and lung cancer is not clear. Methods: In this study, based on network pharmacology and molecular docking technology, the common mechanism of HJH in the treatment of COPD and lung cancer was studied. The active ingredients and related targets of HJH were integrated from TCMSP, BATMAN-TAM, STP, and Pubchem databases. The standard names of these targets were united by UniProt database. Targets of COPD and lung cancer were enriched through GeneCards, NCBI (Gene), Therapeutic Target Database, and DisGeNET (v7.0) databases. Then the intersection targets of HJH and diseases were obtained. The STRING network and the Cytoscape 3.7.2 were used to construct PPI network, the DAVID database was used to perform GO and KEGG analysis. Then Cytoscape 3.6.1 was used to build “ingredient-target-signal pathway” network. Finally, AutoDock 1.5.6 software was used to perform molecular docking of key proteins and molecules. Results: Eleven active ingredients in HJH were obtained by searching the database, corresponding to 184 HJH-COPD-lung cancer targets intersection. The results of biological network analysis showed that naringenin, the active component in HJH, could mainly act on target proteins such as AKT1, EGFR. Then through positive regulation of vasoconstriction and other biological processes, naringenin could regulate estrogen signaling pathway, VEGF signaling pathway, HIF-1 signaling pathway, ErbB signaling pathway, PI3K-Akt signaling pathway to play an important role in the treatment of both COPD and lung cancer. Conclusion: Network pharmacology was employed to systematically investigate the active ingredients and targets of HJH in treatment of COPD and lung cancer. And then, the common pharmacodynamic network of HJH for the two malignant respiratory diseases was firstly described. Furthermore, naringenin was proved to strongly bind with AKT1 and EGFR. It may provide the scientific basis for understanding the “Same treatment for different diseases” strategy in traditional Chinese medicine and inspirit subsequent drug discovery for COPD, lung cancer and other malignant lung diseases.  相似文献

It seems inevitable that the development of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) tends to be integrated with modern science and technology, gradually realizing the modernization of TCM in this modern age. However, to realize the modernization of TCM, not the Western-medicinization, the key point is to take always the theory of TCM as the footstone, preserving and developing the diagnostic and therapeutic features of TCM during the process of assimilating the modern science and technology.  相似文献

Acupuncture is an important component part of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM). The therapeutic effects may be influenced by a variety of factors.Stimulation quantity is one of the factors for achieving good therapeutic effects in acupuncture practice. With the development of science and technology, besides the influence of manual manipulations, the parameters adopted for electroacupuncture have become the benchmark of stimulation quantity. This study, by referring to the related literatures, is designed to explore the influence of manual manipulations and electrical parameters on therapeutic effects of acupuncture. The results from the present study show that different manualmanipulations and electrical parameters may exert different therapeutic effects of acupuncture, which are closely related to the characteristics of diseases.Different manual manipulations and electrical parameters should be adopted according to syndrome differentiation of TCM. This is very important in acupuncture treatment.  相似文献

Background: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new outbreak infectious disease, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. Nearly 80,000 people have got infected in China in just 2 months. Up to now, there still has no specific effective treatment for this disease. While integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine has definite curative effect, could significantly reduce the disease mortality and shorten the course of treatment. Case Report: Here we report a 31?year?old female case of COVID?19 in a family cluster in Beijing. She reported low fever, cough with a little white sputum, fatigue, watery diarrhea, anorexia on admission. The COVID-19 in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) belonged to plagues caused by dampness toxin. The patient was treated with TCM from dampness combined with antiviral drug abidol. After four visits, the patient was significantly improved with symptoms disappearing, chest?computed tomography dissipating, viral nucleic acid turning negative. She discharged and donated 200 ml convalescent plasma after 19 days hospitalization. Conclusion: The present case demonstrated that integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine could treat COVID?19 effectively. However, clinical randomized controlled trials are warranted to verify the precise clinical efficacy.  相似文献

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major chronic disease that seriously endangers public health. Some remarkable results have shown that Chinese medicine has an obvious clinical effect in preventing and treating COPD. To further promote the normative use ofChinesemedicinetobetterguidetheclinicaldiagnosisandtreatmentofCOPD,the WorldFederationofChineseMedicineSocieties developed a panel to establish the guidelines by systematically evaluating, based on the revision and transformation of Guidelines for Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease released by the China Association of Chinese Medicine in 2019(Standard No:T/CACM 1319-2019), the latest clinical research evidence at home and abroad, formatting the International Clinical Practice Guideline of Chinese Medicine—Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, and publishing in both Chinese and English. The guidelines consist of 12 parts:preface, introduction, scope, normative references, terms and definitions, disease diagnosis and staging, severity assessment, etiology and pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation and treatment, other treatment, prevention and care, and appendix. They also standardize the contents of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) etiology and pathogenesis, syndrome differentiation and treatment, and prevention and care of COPD. These guidelines are applicable to clinical respiratory physicians of TCM and integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine. The release of these guidelines will help improve the effect and level of Chinese medicine for COPD.  相似文献

?Neural stem/progenitor cells (NSCs) could be attractive therapeutic targets for promoting adult neurogenesis, brain plasticity, and repair in stroke and neurodegenerative diseases, raising great potentials for regeneration therapy. In adult ischemic brains, NSCs have limited capacities of growth, differentiation, and generating new neurons for repairing the damaged central nervous system. However, the spontaneous brain repair seems to be insufficient to recover neurological deficits in most stroke cases. To overcome those problems, pharmacological manipulations targeting on endogenous NSCs or transplanted stem cells could be a promoting strategy for regeneration therapy. Chinese herbal medicine has great potentials for developing novel therapeutic strategies for adult neurogenesis and brain repair in poststroke treatment. Chinese herbal medicine has a long history for poststroke treatment. Recent studies create great opportunity for drug discovery for promoting neurogenesis and improving the recovery of neurological functions in poststroke treatment. Many active compounds or extracts from medicinal herbs have shown promising effects on regulating proliferation, self-renewal and differentiation of NSCs, and promoting neural network formation as well as neurological functional recovery with in vitro and in vivo experimental evidence. Therefore, targeting neural stem/progenitor cells can be an important opportunity for the studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine in regeneration medicine. Due to the complex interactions of herbal ingredients in network regulation, huge challenge remains to be resolved for further study.  相似文献
