BackgroundIn the Danish childhood vaccination program, the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination coverage is lower than for other vaccines. To tailor a targeted HPV vaccination effort, we aimed to identify girls in Denmark with lower first dose HPV vaccination coverage than girls in general.MethodsA population-based retrospective cohort study was performed of girls born in 2001–2004, residing in Denmark in September 2019 (N = 128,351). Data from the Danish Vaccination Register was linked to sociodemographic data from the Danish Civil Registration System and Statistics Denmark. Cox's proportional hazard regression models were used to compare vaccination uptake rates between subgroups of girls.ResultsHPV vaccination coverage at 14 years of age varied widely by municipality (53.4–80.6%). Girls living with neither of their parents had a lower chance of being vaccinated compared to girls living with both their parents (HR 0.43; 95% CI 0.41–0.46), likewise for girls attending special need education compared with girls attending public schools (HR 0.50; 95% CI 0.42–0.59). The vaccination uptake among immigrants was lower compared to Danish-born girls (HR 0.51; 95% CI 0.49–0.54), especially among immigrant girls whose parents had not passed any Danish exams. Finally, girls who were DTaP-IPV revaccinated had a 50% greater chance of being HPV vaccinated compared to girls who were not (HR 1.61; 95% CI 1.58–1.64).ConclusionTo increase the HPV vaccination uptake, we recommend vaccination efforts targeting girls living without any of their parents, girls attending special need education, immigrants, and girls who are not DTaP-IPV revaccinated. When targeting immigrants, the effort should focus on disseminating sufficient and understandable information about the Danish childhood vaccination program to the parents.  相似文献

ObjectivesRotavirus vaccines (RV), included in Australia’s National Immunisation Program from mid-July 2007, are unique in strict time limits for administration. Here, we report on timeliness of RV uptake, compare cumulative RV coverage to age 12 months with DTPa, and assess factors associated with receipt of RV among Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal children.MethodsBirth records for 681,456 children born in two Australian states in 2007–2012 were probabilistically linked to national immunisation records. We assessed on-time coverage (defined as receipt of vaccine dose between 4 days prior to scheduled date and the recommended upper limit) for RV and compared this to diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (DTPa) vaccine. Logistic regression modelling was used to assess independent determinants of receipt of RV.ResultsCompared to non-Aboriginal infants, on-time RV coverage was lower for all doses among Aboriginal infants. Post the upper age limit of RV dose2, DTPa dose2 coverage increased by 9–16% to ≥90%, whereas RV coverage remained around 77% (Aboriginal) and 85% (non-Aboriginal). Compared to first-born children, the adjusted odds of receiving ≥1 RV dose if born to a mother with ≥3 previous births was 0.30 (95%CI: 0.27–0.34) among Aboriginal, and 0.53 (95%CI: 0.51–0.55) among non-Aboriginal children. Prematurity (<33 weeks), low birthweight (<1500 g), maternal age <20 years, maternal smoking during pregnancy and living in a disadvantaged area were independently associated with decreased vaccine uptake.ConclusionsAboriginal children are at greater risk of rotavirus disease than non-Aboriginal children and delayed vaccine receipt is substantially higher. Although specific programs targeting groups at risk of delayed vaccination might improve RV coverage, relaxation of upper age restrictions is most readily implementable, and its overall risk-benefit should be evaluated.  相似文献

BackgroundPreterm-born children are prone to respiratory infections and complications during infancy and early childhood. In Israel, pneumococcal conjugated vaccines (PCVs) were introduced in 2009–2010, with high vaccination coverage. We assessed the impact of PCV implementation on community-acquired alveolar pneumonia (CAAP) in children < 2 years old born prematurely, in comparison with term born infants.MethodsWe conducted a prospective, active, population-based surveillance of children < 2 years old with radiologically-proven CAAP, visiting the only regional medical center. CAAP incidence in the pre-PCV and post-PCV eras were compared in early premature (29–32 weeks gestational age [WGA]), late premature (33–36 WGA) and term-born infants (>36 WGA).ResultsOf 214,947 births during the study period, 6'791 CAAP episodes were diagnosed; 211, 653 and 5,806 were in early premature, late premature and term infants, respectively. After PCV implementation, overall CAAP visits were reduced by 44% (95% CI 36–51): 60%, 21% and 45% among those born early preterm, late preterm and at term, respectively (statistically significant for children born early preterm and at term). For outpatients, the respective rate reductions were 79%, 40% and 65% (statistically significant for the children born at term). Importantly, the mean annual rates in the post-PCV period became similar in all 3 groups.The rate reductions among the hospitalized children were lower those that among the non-hospitalized children, with reductions of 56%, 16% and 33% for the three groups, respectively (statistically significant for early preterm and at term children).ConclusionsCAAP reduction trends after PCV implementation for preterm-born infants were similar to those for term-born infants. Whether this was because of similar direct PCV- protection, because of indirect (herd) protection or both, is unclear. Post-PCV implementation, the gaps in CAAP rates between infants born prematurely and at term were reduced.  相似文献

IntroductionHepatitis B is a major preventable cause of morbidity and mortality from chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. We aimed to evaluate the performance and outcomes of the Korean Perinatal Hepatitis B Prevention Programme (PHBPP) and to investigate the impact of the current post-exposure immunoprophylaxis protocol.MethodsA retrospective cohort study was performed based on electronic data registry of infants born to hepatitis B virus (HBV)-infected mothers between July 2002 and 2013.ResultsDuring the study period, 159,983 Korean infants were registered with the PHBPP, with an overall programme coverage of 92.8%. Despite receiving timely post-exposure immunoprophylaxis, 8.6% of infants born to mothers aged <25 years and hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)-positive, and 0.7% of infants born to mothers aged ≥25 years and HBeAg-negative were infected. An estimated 14,123 infants were directly protected from perinatal HBV transmission by the PHBPP during the 11.5-year period, at a cost of 1157 US dollars per case averted. The incidence of paediatric hepatocellular carcinoma declined dramatically during the period.ConclusionsA substantial number of infants have been prevented from hepatitis B since the PHBPP was launched in the Republic of Korea. Continued efforts to promote the programme, an integrated approach to maximising its coverage, a risk-stratified strategy, and innovations in logistics could further reduce perinatal HBV transmission.  相似文献

BackgroundApproximately 17.3 million US adults had at least one major depressive episode (MDE) in 2017. Of those, about two-thirds received mental health services from health professionals. Persons with disabilities (PWD) have higher risks of depression and may face more challenges in seeking treatment.ObjectiveExamined whether the presence of disabilities affected the perceived effectiveness of treatment for people with MDE who received outpatient mental health care.MethodsWe obtained MDE status, functional disability, modality of treatment (i.e., medication only, counseling only, medication plus counseling), self-reported effectiveness of treatment, and covariates from a nationally representative sample of US adults aged ≥18 years in the 2015–2019 National Survey on Drug Use and Health. We used multivariable logistic regression models with recommended survey weighting to examine associations between disability and perceived effectiveness of treatment.ResultsThe study population comprised 9992 respondents, representing 9.53 million US adults who had MDE and received outpatient mental health care in the past year. Overall, 58.9% had at least one functional limitation. A higher proportion of PWDs received medication plus counseling treatment compared to persons without disabilities (79.2% vs. 67.9%, P < .001). PWDs were significantly less likely to rate treatment as effective (OR = 0.77; 95% CI: 0.66–0.91). Odds ratios decreased as the number of limitations increased, and this association was moderated by treatment modality.ConclusionPWDs have poorer perceived outcomes of outpatient mental health care for depression, especially for treatment modalities involving counseling. These findings call for focused attention to depression treatment efforts for PWD that accommodate their needs.  相似文献

BackgroundEarly provisions of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) reduced financial barriers to preventive care, including routinely recommended vaccines; however, vaccination coverage remains suboptimal. This study examined characteristics of routine adult vaccinations and potential missed opportunities for vaccinations through the lens of healthcare resource utilization among adults in the ACA era.MethodsThis was a retrospective analysis of healthcare claims from the Truven Health MarketScan Commercial Claims and Encounters (CCAE), Medicare Supplemental (MS), and Multi-State Medicaid databases among adults aged 19 years or older. Influenza, Tdap (tetanus toxoid, reduced diphtheria toxoid, and acellular pertussis), herpes zoster (HZ), and pneumococcal vaccinations were identified between 2011 and 2016. Potential missed opportunities were defined as well-visits at which individuals were age-eligible for vaccination but did not receive it, assessed during recommended windows for each vaccine. Missed encounters were defined as having no well-visits. Multivariable logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with vaccination and potential missed opportunities.ResultsFamily/internal medicine and unknown/other providers administered most influenza, Tdap, and pneumococcal vaccinations, for the CCAE/MS and Medicaid cohorts, respectively. HZ vaccinations were primarily administered through pharmacies. The proportion of vaccination events increased in the pharmacy setting between 2011 and 2016. Having preventive care visits, non-well-visits, and receiving most care from a family/internal medicine practitioner were associated with increased odds of vaccination. Missed encounters were common in Medicaid enrollees. Potential missed opportunities were more prevalent in the CCAE/MS cohort than among Medicaid enrollees. Having non-well-visits was associated with a reduced likelihood of having a missed opportunity.ConclusionSince the ACA implementation, preventive care among adults was sporadic. Many adults had limited opportunities for vaccination. The large prevalence of missed opportunities suggests vaccination uptake could be improved. Better support for vaccination or referrals for providers who may not traditionally vaccinate could improve vaccine uptake.  相似文献

BackgroundThe National HPV Immunisation Programme was introduced in England in September 2008 using the HPV16/18 bivalent vaccine. We conducted serological surveillance to explore vaccination coverage levels. We also conducted a case-control study to investigate a hypothesised cross-protective effect of the HPV16/18 vaccine against genital warts.MethodsResidual serum specimens from 16 to 20 year-old women attending six specialist sexual health services (SSHS) between 2011 and 2015 in England were tested for antibodies against HPV16 and HPV18 using a virus-like particle (VLP)-based multiplex serology assay. Patients were classified as having vaccine-induced seropositivity if they were seropositive for both HPV types and either had high antibody levels for at least one HPV type, or moderately high levels for both HPV types.Differences in vaccine-induced seropositivity by patient characteristics were investigated using logistic regression. Vaccine-induced seropositivity was then compared for patients with genital warts (cases) and matched patients without (controls).ResultsOf 3,973 serum specimens collected, 3,870 (97.4%) had a valid result. The proportion of women with vaccine-induced seropositivity decreased with age (from 78.1% in 16-year-olds to 52.6% in 20-year-olds). Vaccine-induced seropositivity was lower among women born outside the UK, from more deprived areas and with a history of chlamydia diagnosis. A difference in uptake by ethnic group was also seen but this was largely confounded by differences in deprivation and country of birth. Among 537 cases and 1,515 controls, there was little evidence of a protective effect of the bivalent HPV vaccine against genital warts (adjusted odds ratio 0.93; 95% CI: 0.74–1.18).DiscussionVaccine-induced seropositivity in this high-risk population was in line with vaccination coverage in the general population although was lower in some at-risk sub-groups. This study does not provide evidence to support a cross-protective effect of the HPV16/18 vaccine against genital warts.  相似文献

PurposeAccording to the social determinants of health framework, income inequality is a potential risk factor for adverse mental health. However, few studies have explored the mechanisms suspected to mediate this relationship. The current study addresses this gap through a mediation analysis to determine if social support and community engagement act as mediators linking neighbourhood income inequality to maternal anxiety and depressive symptoms within a cohort of new mothers living in the City of Calgary, Canada.MethodsData collected at three years postpartum from mothers belonging to the All Our Families (AOF) cohort were used in the current study. Maternal data were collected between 2012 and 2015 and linked to neighbourhood socioeconomic data from the 2006 Canadian Census. Income inequality was measured using Gini coefficients derived from 2006 after-tax census data. Generalized structural equation models were used to quantify the associations between income inequality and mental health symptoms, and to assess the potential direct and indirect mediating effects of maternal social support and community engagement.ResultsIncome inequality was not significantly associated with higher depressive symptoms (β = 0.32, 95%CI = −0.067, 0.70), anxiety symptoms (β = 0.11, 95%CI = −0.39, 0.60), or lower social support. Income inequality was not associated with community engagement. For the depression models, higher social support was significantly associated with lower depressive symptoms (β = −0.13, 95%CI = −0.15, −0.097), while community engagement was not significantly associated with depressive symptoms (β = 0.059, 95%CI = −0.15, 0.27). Similarly, for the anxiety models, lower anxiety symptoms were significantly associated with higher levels of social support (β = −0.17, 95%CI = −0.20, −0.13) but not with higher levels of community engagement (β = 0.14, 95%CI = −0.14, 0.41).ConclusionThe current study did not find clear evidence for social support or community engagement mediating the relationship between neighbourhood income inequality and maternal mental health. Future investigations should employ a broader longitudinal approach to capture changes in income inequality, potential mediators, and mental health symptomatology over time.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo pave the way for universal or risk factor-based vaccination strategies, the present study aimed to describe the epidemiology and compare risk factors for hospitalization associated with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and influenza virus infections in Danish children.MethodsNational register-based cohort study among 403,422 Danish children born 2010–2016.ResultsPrior asthma hospitalization, number of children in the household, chronic disease and maternal history of asthma hospitalization were the most important risk factors for both RSV and influenza hospitalization. The incidence of influenza increased at school start.ConclusionsOur findings enable targeted vaccination programs for high-risk children with asthma-like disease, chronic disease, siblings in the household, or maternal history of asthma hospitalization.  相似文献

BackgroundThe incidence of cervical cancer has been increasing, especially in younger generation, in Japan. The females born between 1994 and 1999, who achieved rates of HPV vaccination approaching 70%, have become the target of cervical cancer screening programs. Here, we have analyzed the cervical cancer screening rates among the vaccinated and unvaccinated women.MethodsThe survey data for cervical cancer screening at age 20 in FY 2015 was derived from two cities, Toyonaka and Iwaki.ResultsAmong 2,727 females, in Toyonaka and Iwaki, who were born in FY 1995 and targeted in FY 2015 at age 20 for cervical cancer screening, their HPV vaccination rate was 64.2% (1,753/2,727). The screening rate was 6.4% (112/1,753) in the vaccinated and 3.9% (38/974) in the unvaccinated. This difference was statistically significant (p < 0.01).ConclusionsWe have demonstrated that HPV-vaccinated females tended to be effectively protected from future cervical cancer than the unvaccinated.  相似文献

BackgroundThis study aimed to evaluate the parental acceptance of Typhoid Conjugate Vaccine (TCV) and to determine the predictors of TCV vaccination status among children in an outbreak setting of extensively drug resistant (XDR) typhoid fever in Karachi, Pakistan.MethodsA cross-sectional survey using the WHO recommended rapid vaccine coverage assessment technique was conducted. Out of 11, four union councils (UCs) in Lyari Town were randomly selected. A parent or primary caretaker from the eligible household was interviewed. Data were collected using a locally validated vaccine attitudes scale (VAS). Sum of scores was calculated for VAS. A higher score denoted negative attitudes and perceptions regarding TCV and vice versa. Multivariable logistic regression was performed to determine the predictors of TCV vaccination status.ResultsBased on the 14-item parental VAS, 78.0 % of the parents had a score between 0 to <40 and 22 % had a score ≥40. VAS score of <40 was significantly associated with higher odds of receiving TCV during the campaign setting (adjusted Odds Ratio (aOR): 1.30; 95 % Confidence Interval (CI): 1.02, 1.66). The odds of receiving TCV vaccination were higher among children whose parents were aware of the ongoing vaccination campaign in the area (aOR: 4.57; 95 % CI: 2.93, 7.12) and expressed willingness to get their child vaccinated against typhoid fever (aOR: 2.54; 95 % CI: 1.82, 3.55).ConclusionParental awareness of the ongoing vaccination campaign, positive perception and attitudes towards vaccine were found to be significantly associated with TCV vaccination among children. Appropriately structured pre-vaccination awareness campaigns focused on childhood vaccination targeted towards parents are necessary to improve parental awareness, attitude and behavior towards vaccination.  相似文献

BackgroundThere is increasing research interest regarding physical activity behavior among persons with multiple sclerosis (MS), yet there is little known about physical activity and its correlates in Black persons with MS.ObjectiveThis cross-sectional study assessed associations among social cognitive theory (SCT) variables and device-measured and self-reported physical activity in samples of Black and White persons with MS.MethodsParticipants included 67 Black and 141 White persons with MS who wore an ActiGraph accelerometer on a belt around the waist measuring moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) for seven days and completed a battery of questionnaires. Questionnaires included demographic and clinical characteristics, leisure-time exercise, exercise self-efficacy, overcoming barriers self-efficacy, function, social support, exercise outcome expectations, and goal setting and planning.ResultsBlack participants with MS engaged in significantly less MVPA, but not sedentary behavior or light physical activity, than the White participants with MS. Black participants further had significantly lower levels of exercise self-efficacy and outcome expectations than the White sample. All SCT correlates were significantly correlated with self-reported physical activity, but only exercise and barriers self-efficacy, perceived function, and exercise goal setting were associated with device-measured MVPA. The difference in physical activity between Black and White participants with MS was accounted for by differences in exercise self-efficacy and outcome expectations.ConclusionsResearchers should consider developing behavioral interventions that target exercise self-efficacy and outcome expectations as SCT variables for increasing physical activity in Black persons with MS.  相似文献

BackgroundIn a previous cohort study of 4-year-old Danish children, revaccination with the live measles-mumps-rubella vaccine (MMR) was associated with a 16% reduction in the rate of hospitalization lasting two days or longer for non-measles-mumps-rubella infections.AimTo examine if the introduction of revaccination with MMR at 4 years of age in Denmark (spring 2008) and at 7–9 years of age in Sweden (autumn 2009), at a time when there was virtually no measles, mumps or rubella cases, was associated with a reduction in the rate of hospitalization-for-infection lasting two days or longer at the population level.MethodsWe included 4-year-olds in Denmark and 7–9-year-olds in Sweden. We obtained the number of hospitalization-for-infection lasting two days or longer from nationwide hospital registers. Person-years at risk were approximated from population statistics for each season and year. We performed an interrupted time series analysis using Poisson regression to estimate the change in hospitalization incidence rates following the introduction of MMR revaccination, adjusting for seasonality. We also performed analyses with control series (3-year-olds in Denmark and 4-year-olds in Sweden).ResultsComparing the incidence of hospitalization-for-infection lasting two days or longer after the introduction of MMR revaccination with the expected level without an introduction of MMR revaccination resulted in an incidence rate ratio of 1.07 (95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.89–1.28) for 4-year-olds in Denmark and 0.89 (95% CI = 0.77–1.02) for 7–9-year-olds in Sweden in analyses without controls. Analyses with controls gave similar results.ConclusionThis population-level study of the introduction of MMR revaccination in Denmark and Sweden had inadequate power to confirm or refute the findings from an individual-level Danish study of an association between MMR revaccination and a lower incidence rate of hospitalization-for-infection lasting two days or longer.  相似文献

BackgroundPopulation ageing and air pollution have become two major public health concerns in China. Longitudinal evidence on the body weight impacts of air pollution among older adults is rare. This study aims to investigate the impacts of ambient particulate matter with aerodynamic diameters ≤2.5 μm (PM2.5) on weight status of older adults in China and the potential behavioral and metabolic pathways through which PM2.5 influences weight status.MethodsThe longitudinal data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (body mass index—BMI, n = 9053; waist/height ratio—WHR, n = 9064) were linked to the air pollution data at the city-level with a rural-urban distinction. We used mixed-effects linear models to evaluate the impacts of PM2.5 on individual weight status and multiple mediation analysis to examine potential pathways.ResultsAfter adjusting for relevant socioeconomic and city-level risk factors, significant and robust positive impacts of PM2.5 on BMI (0.025, 95%CI: 0.018, 0.031) and WHR*100 (0.058, 95%CI: 0.044, 0.072) were found among older adults in China. The PM2.5-weight status relationship among older adults may be mediated through metabolic and inflammatory dysfunction pathways particularly HbA1c and C-reactive protein (CRP). As PM2.5 deteriorates, the detrimental impacts tend to be more severe for rural-urban migrants and rural residents, compared to their urban counterparts. The worsening rural PM2.5 profiles in some areas, such as the northern parts of the Central and the Eastern, may leave them particularly vulnerable to air pollution.ConclusionsPM2.5 has an independent and significant detrimental impact on weight status including BMI and WHR of older adults in China, especially among rural adults and rural-urban migrants. PM2.5 may affect weight status of older adults through biomarkers such as HbA1c and CRP. More research is needed to confirm our findings.  相似文献

IntroductionSouth Africa introduced seven-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV7) in 2009 and PCV13 in 2011. We aimed to compare the estimated impact of PCV on pneumococcal meningitis (PM) to impact of PCV on total invasive pneumococcal disease (tIPD) based on risk reduction after PCV introduction.MethodsWe conducted national, laboratory-based surveillance for tIPD during 2005–2016. We estimated and compared rates of PCV13 and non-PCV13 serotype disease among tIPD and PM in individuals aged <5 years and ≥5 years, and compared these rates between the 2005–2008 pre-PCV introduction period and two time points after PCV introduction, 2012 and 2016.ResultsWe enrolled 45,853 tIPD cases; 17,251 (38%) were PM. By 2016, IPD caused by all serotypes decreased 55% (95%CI −57% to −53%) for tIPD, and 54% for PM (95%CI −58% to −51%), 0.7% difference between estimates (p = 0.7). No significant differences were observed between PCV7-serotype disease reduction in tIPD and PM in both age groups or the additional 6 serotypes included in PCV13 in <5 year olds in 2012 and 2016. In 2012 there was a significant difference between increases in non-PCV13 serotype disease in those ≥5 years for tIPD and PM (32% greater increase in PM, p < 0.001), but this difference was absent by 2016. There was a significant difference between the estimated decrease in additional PCV13 type disease in 2016 between tIPD and PM for those aged ≥5 years (28% greater reduction in PM, p = 0.008).ConclusionPM showed similar reductions to tIPD seven years after PCV introduction in vaccine serotype disease in those <5 years, and increases in non-vaccine serotype disease in all ages.  相似文献

BackgroundLack of health insurance may limit access to influenza vaccination, resulting in higher risk of infection.MethodsThe Brazos County Health Department obtained medical records summarizing vaccination and health insurance status of all influenza cases occurring in December 2017 (n = 417). The odds of influenza vaccination were estimated for those with public or private health insurance as compared to uninsured individuals using multivariate logistic regression analysis adjusted for age and race.ResultsHealth insurance coverage among Brazos County residents with influenza was 62.4%. Public and private health insurance was associated with higher odds of influenza vaccination compared to no insurance (aOR: 2.05; 95% CI: 1.00–4.21 and aOR: 1.77; 95% CI: 1.07–2.92, respectively), particularly among adults 18–64 years of age.ConclusionsInfluenza vaccination is strongly associated with health insurance. Expansion of programs that facilitate access to health services or provide free influenza vaccines may improve influenza prevention among the uninsured.  相似文献

ObjectiveThe Japanese national immunization program recommends that children receive 4 doses of acellular pertussis vaccine between 3 months and 2 years of age. Nevertheless, the number of pertussis cases is increasing in elementary school children aged 6–12 years. Therefore, a test-negative case-control study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the pertussis vaccine program.MethodsSubjects included children aged ≥3 months who visited a collaborating hospital due to pertussis-specific cough between October 2017 and November 2019. All subjects underwent diagnostic tests for pertussis, and those diagnosed as positive were regarded as cases. Subjects diagnosed as pertussis-negative were classified as controls. Vaccination history was collected using a questionnaire administered to parents with reference to immunization records. Logistic regression models were employed to calculate the odds ratio (OR) and 95% confidence interval for laboratory-confirmed pertussis.ResultsOf 187 recruited subjects (120 cases and 67 controls), questionnaire responses were obtained for 145 subjects (95 cases and 50 controls). Compared with unvaccinated subjects, the vaccine effectiveness (VE) of 4 doses was 70% among all subjects and reached to 90% with marginal significance among subjects under 6 years of age. However, among school-aged subjects, the VE was not suggestive of protection against pertussis (VE: 8%). For vaccinees given 4 doses, the OR for developing pertussis increased significantly with longer duration since the fourth dose (compared with <4.5 years, OR of 6.0–8.2 years = 5.74; OR of ≥8.3 years = 3.88; P for trend by duration < 0.01).ConclusionEffectiveness of administering 4 doses of pertussis vaccine during infancy decreases with time passed since the fourth dose. This regimen does not protect school-aged children against pertussis.  相似文献

BackgroundWe assessed disparities in HPV vaccination coverage by sociodemographic characteristics in the United States.MethodsUsing 2017-March 2020 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey data, we estimated vaccination coverage of ≥ 1 dose of HPV vaccine by race/ethnicity and poverty, insurance, and nativity status for females and males aged 9–14, 15–19, and 20–29 years.ResultsAmong those aged 9–14 years, coverage among non-Hispanic Black (NHB), Hispanic, and non-Hispanic Asian (NHA) females (40.0%, 33.6%, 34.0%) and males (27.1%, 35.3%, 30.9%) was higher than non-Hispanic White (NHW) females (26.5%) and males (25.2%). Among those aged 15–19 and 20–29 years, coverage varied among NHB, Hispanic, and NHA compared to NHW females and was lower among NHB, Hispanic, and NHA than NHW males. Coverage was lower among uninsured than insured in most comparisons.ConclusionsHPV vaccination coverage varied by race/ethnicity and other characteristics. Efforts are needed to increase HPV vaccination coverage in all populations.  相似文献
