The purpose of this study was to clarify actual conditions and problems in medical information education and to propose the educational concept to be adopted in medical information. A questionnaire survey was carried out by the anonymous method in June 2008. The survey was intended for 40 radiological technology schools. The questionnaire items were as follows: (1) educational environment in medical information education, (2) content of a lecture in medical information, (3) problems in medical information education. The response rate was 55.0% (22 schools). Half of the responding schools had a laboratory on medical information. Seventeen schools had a medical information education facility, and out of them, approximately 50% had an educational medical information system. The main problems of the medical information education were as follows: (a) motivation of the students is low, (b) the educational coverage and level for medical information are uncertain, (c) there are not an appropriate textbook and educational guidance. In conclusion, these findings suggest that it is necessary to have a vision of medical information education in the education of radiological technologists.  相似文献

Radiologists have been involved in anatomy instruction for medical students for decades. However, recent technical advances in radiology, such as multiplanar imaging, "virtual endoscopy", functional and molecular imaging, and spectroscopy, offer new ways in which to use imaging for teaching basic sciences to medical students. The broad dissemination of picture archiving and communications systems is making such images readily available to medical schools, providing new opportunities for the incorporation of diagnostic imaging into the undergraduate medical curriculum. Current reforms in the medical curriculum and the establishment of new medical schools in the UK further underline the prospects for an expanding role for imaging in medical education. This article reviews the methods by which diagnostic imaging can be used to support the learning of anatomy and other basic sciences.  相似文献

RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES: We sought to determine the current and anticipated future status of anatomy education in medical schools in North America, with particular emphasis on the role of radiologists and imaging in the curriculum. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A Web-based survey was sent to all schools identified using the AAMC Web site to find e-mail addresses for deans and course directors. RESULTS: Responses were obtained from approximately 50% of schools. Most courses are taught over a semester, and most are directed by anatomists. Only one is directed by a radiologist. Dissection is still the major teaching method, with radiologic anatomy averaging about 5% of total teaching time. Most directors anticipate a decrease in teaching time over the next 5 years and an increase in use of digital methods and teaching of radiologic anatomy. CONCLUSION: The role of radiologists will probably increase in future teaching of anatomy.  相似文献

Australian ethics committees have a central role in the regulation of medical research. Recently this role has come under public criticism despite the fact that there are almost no Australian studies of the workings of ethics committees. This paper looks at the problems and advantages of ethics committees in the light of some studies, including two recent Australian investigations. It concludes by proposing a model of regulation that utilizes the strengths of ethics committees while avoiding the problems which can arise as a result of their self-regulating nature.  相似文献
