BACKGROUND: In the nursing schools, the contrast between what is taught in the classrooms and what is practiced at the health care centers usually creates a great deal of confusion on the part of the students. The objective of this research is to ascertain the opinion of the students and of the professionals at the health care centers where they are doing their training with regard thereto in order to detect their problems and see what differences exist between primary and specialized care. METHODS: This research was conducted throughout the first half of 2000 employing qualitative methodology, by means of four discussion groups comprised of students, former students, primary care training advisors and nursing professionals at the hospitals where the students of the school in question are doing their nursing training. The initial involvement employed was indirect. RESULTS: The comments of the nursing students and of their training advisors with regard to the practice nursing during the diploma studies reveal dissatisfaction on the part of both of these groups. In all of the groups point out anxiety as the leading factor involved in their teaching as well as learning activities and during professional training. The lack of identification as a group of professionals seems to be related to the lack of recognition on the part of the others, the demand for a degree being granted for their college studies and for the setting up of specialities would contribute to their social recognition and, as a result thereof, to their identification as a professional group. CONCLUSIONS: Until a solution is provided to the anxiety which the nursing professionals feel with regard to their professional practice, which they pass on to their students during nursing training, it will not be possible to achieve a higher degree of satisfaction with nursing training experiences either on the part of the training advisors or on the part of the students.  相似文献

The purpose of this research was to construct a nursing care concept, based on the understanding of nurses and students from an undergraduate course. This is a qualitative study. A focus group was used to construct a nursing care concept for use in undergraduate teaching. The research was carried out at Faculdade Católica Rainha do Sert?o in Quixadá, CE, Brazil, from August to December 2007. Three categories emerged from the process: the understanding of the care concept, nursing care and the meaning of care. The constructed concept involved attitudes of awareness, ethics, zeal, solidarity and love, which express a "know-how" based on science, art, ethics and esthetics, directed at individual, family and community needs.  相似文献

Our analysis in this paper unfolds on two levels: a critique of the 'realities' of graduate nursing education and an argument to sustain its 'ideals'. We open for discussion an aspect of graduate nursing education dominated by instrumental reason, namely the research industry, using an internal critique approach developed by Max Horkheimer and Theodor Adorno of the Early Frankfurt School. As we explain, internal critique arises out of, and relies on, the mismatch between goals, or 'ideals', and existing realities. Thinking about 'ideals' of the academy, we draw on Hans-Georg Gadamer's view of the university as a place to think freely, creatively, and critically. The contemporary realities of the university, on the other hand, that emphasize the market values of the research industry forcefully shape nursing academic scholarship in a particular direction. In our attempt to recognize and disrupt the forces of the research industry with its instrumental reason, we consider Judith Butler's writings on how norms operate in society. We show that our growing involvement in the research industry makes it very difficult to disentangle ourselves from that situation. The values of the research industry actually suppress the very ideals of education and scholarship that we would like to uphold. As a contra-force, the internal critique of the 'existing realities' in the graduate nursing education unmasks the tyranny of the research industry and makes visible the importance of sustaining the higher goals and ideals in nursing scholarship.  相似文献

The nursing research among undergraduate students develop the logical and critical thinking that are important to the professional. So, it is necessary to have content about research in the beginning of the undergraduate courses. The quantitative study identified the attitudes about nursing research of the undergraduate students. It was investigated 248 undergraduate students of the 1o., 3o. 8o. semesters in three nursing schools of the S?o Paulo State. It was utilized Likert Scales as a instrument of data collection. The results showed that the students have responsible attitudes of the research. The students from the 1o. semesters are less conscious about the results of research comparable to the intuition and personal experience. They are interested in of discuss the results of the research with colleagues. Most of the students agree that is fundamental to conduct research with the faulty members.  相似文献

This study identifies some undergraduate nursing students' imaginary manifestations concerning themselves and care delivered to patients with orthopedic and/or trauma disorders. The Social Poetics method was used and the research group was composed of 15 undergraduate students. Only the categories and subcategories exclusively related to the "student" are presented in this paper. Data revealed that care provided by orthopedic nursing students is the result of a care relationship that emerges from their sensitivity toward patients and their own knowledge, skills and attitudes. The orthopedic treatment, equipment and procedures, to which patients are submitted, cause important emotional distress for students, empathic behavior and encourage them to search for ways to minimize their patients' pain. All the aspects that permeate care provided by orthopedic nursing students should be identified in order to enable reassessment of the teaching-learning process.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to explore perceptions of undergraduate nursing faculty about the work processes of professional nurses, particularly, nursing care and competency - from ways of learning, knowing, and doing, which were developed during their undergraduate nursing education. Focus groups among fifteen undergraduate faculty members were conducted to collect data for this qualitative study. Content analysis was used to analyze the data. Six categories have emerged: Technical skills are fundamental to provide nursing care; Complexities of technical skills and nursing care; Differences in the process of providing nursing care; Competency from ways of learning, knowing, and doing are essential for providing nursing care; Learning to be a nurse is understood by different perspectives; The need of undergraduate faculty to discuss about nursing technical care.  相似文献

This qualitative research aimed to identify undergraduate nursing students' perceptions on mixed-HIV-status couples. Social Representation Theory was used to get to know how the students feel, think and act towards HIV/aids serodiscordance. Six fourth-year nursing students were interviewed. Participants were between 20 and 26 years old. The "Projective Thematic Drawing" and a structure interview were used for data collection. Data were analyzed by means of "Thematic Content Analysis". The obtained data revealed the students' perceptions on serodiscordant couples. This study triggered future reflections/discussions on health education for mixed-HIV-status couples and nursing care.  相似文献

Changes in the practice of health care delivery to include a greater focus on community-based care is becoming an issue of increasing importance throughout the Western World. In Australia, factors such as a reduction in the average patient stay within acute care hospitals and the allocation of additional funds to community resources presents evidence of this change in focus. Nurses, who form the largest professional group involved with health care delivery, must by necessity become an important part of such change. A significantly larger number of nurses will be required to work in the community in the future. Despite this trend, there is a paucity of research examining the attitudes of student nurses towards a possible career in the area of community health. In order to address this deficit, a longitudinal study examining the career preferences of undergraduate nursing students is being conducted. The study sample comprises undergraduate nursing students from 9 universities in the State of Victoria. The results of stage 1 of this research are presented in this paper. The findings indicate that at the commencement of their educational program, undergraduate student nurses do not have a strong understanding of or interest in the area of community health nursing. A preference for employment within a hospital environment, particularly in the highly technical areas, and in the care of mothers and babies, is evident. The implication of these findings for the future of community health nursing is briefly discussed.  相似文献

The goal of the present study was to compare the performance of two groups of nursing undergraduate students, submitted to two different teaching methods, in their ability to perform the intramuscular injection on clients needing the procedure. Both, control (CG) and experimental group (EG) (n = 35 each) were submitted to traditional method and instructional method respectively, according to the methodological procedure described by Nogueira (1995). The performance of the students was evaluated by a nurse who had no knowledge of the group each student belong. The nurse used the "check-list" in order to evaluate the performance of student. The results indicate that the time spent by the students of each group was approximately the same i.e. 9.4 min for CG and 9.3 for EG. The students of the control group showed ordinary performance (42.9%), good performance (48.9%) and very good performance (8.5%) whereas those of the EG showed ordinary performance (5.7%), good performance (60%) and very good performance (34.3%). The present results shows that the students are responsible by their own learning, motivating us to use new teaching methods on nursing undergraduate course.  相似文献

目的比较2种不同评价方法在护理本科生临床教学实习中的应用效果。方法选择125名三年级护理本科生,在内、外科护理学课程2周的教学实习过程中,分别应用书写整体护理病历和撰写护理个案论文2种评价方法。教学实习结束后,采用自行设计的问卷进行调查。结果学生认为书写整体护理病历评价教学实习有利于提高整体护理临床思维的能力,撰写护理个案论文有利于培养学生的科研意识,提高其护理信息能力和掌握科研方法。结论 2种评价方法各有特色,应有机结合,为培养学生综合能力提供平台和机会。  相似文献

目的探讨临床带教老师对护理本科生职业态度的影响。方法采用便利抽样法选择2011年7月—2012年3月在武汉大学人民医院实习的240名护理本科实习生为研究对象,将其随机分为试验组和对照组,每组120名。采用便利抽样法抽取工作5年以上、本科及以上学历的36名临床教师,根据护士职业态度量表评分并由高到低将其分为2组,每组18名。职业态度优良的带教试验组,职业态度一般的带教对照组。实习前、实习结束前1周用护生职业态度问卷对2组护生进行问卷调查。结果试验组及对照组实习护生在实习前其职业态度评分的差异无统计学意义(P〉0.05),实习结束前1周,2组护生的职业态度评分分别为(8.54±0.79)和(4.61±0.53)分,差异有统计学意义(t:27.91,P〈0.01)。临床带教老师的工作态度、关心同学、专业技术与护生职业态度关系均较为密切。结论临床教师带教可以提升护生职业态度,良好的工作态度、过硬的专业技术可以有效引导护生形成积极、稳定的职业态度。  相似文献

In this keynote address, the author explores the role that scholarship plays in shaping and advancing qualitative research. The focus is on the dynamic relationship that exists between scholarship, qualitative research, qualitative researchers, and the research imperatives that form part of the context in which they operate. Neither scholarship nor qualitative research exists in a contextual vacuum. Changing thoughts and emphases in educational institutions and society at large influence, and are in turn influenced by, understandings of scholarship and research. Disability and Delight: Staring Back at the Devotee Community is the most recent incarnation of an ongoing research project originally began as an undergraduate thesis in the English department at the University of California at Berkeley. Using first-hand accounts of both people with disabilities and self-identified devotees, the nature of sexual attraction to people with disabilities, as well as the responses to that attraction, are examined. In addition, a critical eye is cast toward some of the existing scholarship on the subject. The purpose of this research is to elaborate software about the physical examination of full-term newborns (TNB) for neonatal nursing teaching at undergraduate level. The software was developed according to the phases of planning, content development and evaluation. The construction of the modules was based on Gagné's modern learning theory and structured on the Keller Plan, in line with the systemic approach. The objectives were to elaborate and evaluate the contents of the self-instructional modules, to be used as a teaching strategy in the undergraduate course. After being structured, the material was reviewed and analyzed by 11 neonatal nursing experts, who rated the 42 exposed items as good or excellent.  相似文献

目的探讨在产科护理教学中应用正常分娩综合性实验教学取得的效果研究。方法选取2018年9月—2019年6月在该院实习120名护理本科生作为研究对象,依据奇数偶数分配原则分为两组,其中对照组60名学生进行常规的消毒操作和外阴清洁考核,观察组的60名学生应用正常分娩综合性实验进行考核,对比两组学生护理技能测试成绩以及取得的教学效果。结果观察组优良率(98.33%)高于对照组(88.33%),差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);观察组团队协作能力、学习兴趣、解决问题能力、沟通能力及操作能力评分高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论产科护理教学中应用正常分娩综合性实验教学取得的效果显著,能提升教学成绩,让实习护理本科生更快掌握护理技巧,为医院输送优质护理人才,能缓解产科护理人员缺乏的现象,正常分娩综合性实验教学方案值得应用。  相似文献

目的了解以十九大精神为指导的护理教学科研开展现状,为进一步在护理队伍中深入贯彻十九大精神,并以十九大精神为指导更好地开展护理教研工作。方法调查云南省第二人民医院护理学教研室2017年1月—2018年12月的护理教研工作现状,并进行整理、分析描述。结果在十九大精神的指导下该院护理实习生总人数增长93人,本科实习生人数占比提高7.6%,针刺伤发生率降低1.7%,课堂教学课时数增加1112学时,护理人员论文发表数量增加79篇,专著发表增加3部,科研立项项目增加3项。结论在该院深入贯彻十九大精神后,护理教研工作百花齐放,护理人员仁心仁术,护理质量显著提升,有利于和谐医院的构建、有助于和谐社会的建设。  相似文献

Objective

to understand the meanings of the collegiate deliberations attributed by its members on an undergraduate nursing course.

Method

Grounded Theory, interviews being held with 30 participants, making up 4 sample groups, between January and June 2012, in a public higher education institution.

Result

5 categories emerged, indicating the phenomenon and weaving the paradigmatic model: Understanding the experience of the complex relationships and interactions in the deliberations of collegiate management in nursing: intertwining divergences, convergences, dialogs, collectivities and diversities. This deliberative process presents various meanings involving discussion, and divergent, convergent and complementary positions, through dialog, commitment and negotiation.

Conclusion

the deliberations in the collegiate of nursing, intertwining dialogs, collectivities and diversities, mold the complex relational fabrics.  相似文献
