The development of Candida granulomas was studied in experimental model using histological, enzyme histochemical and electron microscopic methods. The granulomatous response first appeared 3-5 days after injection of heat-killed Candida albicans blastospores in hepatic portal system of mice. This response reached maximum at 10-12 days, when a significant part of hepatic parenchyma was involved, regressing thereafter. In the course of maturation, the granulomas, initially consisting of loose aggregates of monocytes and immature macrophages, were transformed into compact structures with the predominance of mature epithelioid cells with typical enzyme histochemical and fine structural features. In regressing granulomas, the accumulation of immature cells was again seen. Long-term administration of cyclophosphamide suppressed the development of Candida hepatic granulomas.  相似文献

The present study aims to give detailed histomorphological features of the hippocampus of adult male New Zealand rabbits. Both histological and histochemical specimens were prepared to be examined microscopically by using a light microscope. The hippocampus appeared as C-shaped hippocampal proper, dentate gyrus, and subiculum. The hippocampal proper subdivided along its length according to the density and size of its major constituent pyramidal cells into four distinct regions named Cornu Ammonis (CA1, CA2, CA3, and CA4). With the histochemical preparations, each of these regions consisted of five layers, stratum alveolus, stratum oriens, stratum pyramidale, stratum radiatum, and stratum lacunosum-moleculare. The stratum pyramidale constituted the middle dark zone and contained the principal excitatory neurons and a few interneurons. Histochemically, the pyramidal neurons along all regions of the CA reacted positively to Grimelius silver impregnation, lead hematoxylin, Gomori's aldehyde fuchsin, aldehyde thionine, Gomori's chrome alum hematoxylin, and performic acid alcian blue stains. Immunohistochemically, the pyramidal neurons reacted positively to anti-NSE antibodies. The dentate gyrus was formed of three distinct layers. The subiculum was formed of proper subiculum, presubiculum, and parasubiculum.  相似文献

The vesicular, Prostate and bulbourethral glands of 38 buffalo-bulls were studied histologically and histochemically. These gland were tubulo-alveolar in type. The secretory units of the VG were lined by columnar and basal cells while those of PG and BG were lined by columnar or cuboidal cells. The glands were devoid of any glycogen or lipid. Although the PG and BG were mucoid in nature, the VG was free from neutral and acidic mucopolysaccharides. Some hydrolytic enzymes (ALKPase, ACPase, ATPase and Che) and one oxidative enzyme (SDH) were demonstrated in these glands. The results were discussed in the view of the available literature.  相似文献
