Nursing homes have long been used to teach geriatric medicine to medical students, primary care residents, and geriatric medicine fellows, but we may be able to more appropriately use this clinical setting by addressing principles of long-term care in addition to general geriatrics. Long-term care education starts with developing an understanding of the health care system and how to use services to maximize the functional abilities of our frailest elderly, and, depending on the needs of specific learners may incorporate skills such as quality improvement methodology, interdisciplinary team participation, managing infection risk within a community, and optimally transitioning patients between care venues. At each level of medical education, specific long-term care learning outcomes should be established with attention given to appropriate assessment of these outcomes. Curricular elements should be directed by the needs of the specific group of learners and the resources of the institution.  相似文献

Social historical study, which has as object the construction of the pedagogic/political project of the Undergraduate Course of the Nursing School of the Rio de Janeiro State University (FENF/UERJ)--1992-2002. The objective is to report the experience of the construction of the Pedagogic Project. This research was conducted by analyzing documents and dissertations belonging to the 'Dr. Nalva Pereira Calda' Memory Center Collection. It is theoretically based on authors who deal with this theme. The structure and the curriculum plan of the Undergraduate Course were approved by the Superior Council of Teaching and Research of UERJ in December 2001, through the Deliberation no. 05/01, becoming valid as of the first half of 2002.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: To enhance family participation in nursing home care through a Web-based system of interactive video training and interactive communication with the facilities. DESIGN: In this pilot study, focus groups guided the design and development of a prototype computer system for family members of nursing home residents. Its usability and functionality was tested with family members of diverse age and ethnicity. SETTING: Nursing home sites around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. PARTICIPANTS: The study comprised 18 family members who were primary decision makers for nursing home residents. Most were elderly females, and 33% were African-Americans. INTERVENTION: Computer-based education on dementia, agitation/aggression, and caregiver strategies. MEASUREMENTS: Knowledge was assessed with a 16 question pretest and posttest. Satisfaction surveys were completed. RESULTS: Knowledge of key principles of dementia care improved significantly (paired t test, t = 5.9(17), P < 0.0001). User satisfaction and "ease of use" received high ratings. CONCLUSION: Computer-based interactive videos can be used to educate family members of nursing home residents on dementia care. A complete curriculum of education and interactive bulletin boards for family inclusion in care planning are currently under development and will be tested to determine any impact on resident quality of life and quality of care outcomes.  相似文献

对武汉市劳教局戒毒所女性吸毒人员进行深入访谈并作心理健康状况和家庭教养方式测查。结果发现,吸毒妇女生活经历多数都曾遭受挫折、不良家庭及学校和社会背景的影响,心理健康状况在躯体化、强迫、抑郁等方面的状况差,其父母更多的表现出偏爱和拒绝否认的教养方式。提出整合的吸毒防范与戒毒工作建议。  相似文献

【目的】 分享科技期刊编辑发现和甄别隐性学术不端行为的实战经验,总结防范措施,为期刊编辑识别和防范学术不端行为提供借鉴。【方法】 针对编辑实务中遇到的隐性学术不端行为——跨语种抄袭、中介代写代投、利益输送型代写代投,梳理其典型案例的发现与甄别过程,总结编辑在隐性学术不端防治中发挥的作用。同时,总结学术不端稿件的投稿行为特征,并通过中国知网稿件追踪平台统计其一稿多投情况。【结果】 科技期刊编辑在防范隐性学术不端行为中发挥着独特的作用。根据学术不端稿件的投稿行为特征,针对性地制定初审学术不端检查流程,全方位运用学术不端检测系统、投审稿系统、稿件追踪等技术手段,同时增强编辑主体意识,提高警惕性,关注细节,可有效防范学术不端行为。【结论】 期刊编辑应在编辑实务中提高敏感度,从初审把关、善用工具、关注细节、加强宣传等方面入手,筑起学术不端防范堡垒,净化学术环境。  相似文献

Abstract Recently, Edwards and Liaschenko questioned the validity of an argument put forward by Dr Søren Holm and Joseph Dunne concerning the impossibility of a theory of nursing. Taking into consideration the premises of the argument, I describe how Maritain's conception of philosophy allows for the possibility of a theory of nursing conceived as a philosophy of nursing art that is both practical and propositional in nature. As well, I identify how the philosophy of nursing art guides nursing art in developing and applying other kinds of artistic practical nursing knowledge: artistic nursing rules and artistic prudential nursing judgements. Finally, the relationship of ethical knowledge to artistic practical nursing knowledge is set down.  相似文献

Intimacy and its contribution to life satisfaction have not been explored among institutionalized elders. We studied residents of a Veterans Affairs nursing home and assessed cognitive and physical function, life satisfaction, and importance of intimacy. The Folstein Mini-Mental State, Barthel Index, Life Satisfaction Index-Z, and a series of vignettes were used to assess each domain. Vignettes depicted various scenarios (e.g., recent admission to a nursing home, notification of diagnosis of a terminal disease), and asked the subject to rate the importance of intimate social, intellectual, emotional, or physical interactions. Social intimacy was rated as most important, followed by nonsexual physical, intellectual, emotional, and finally, sexual-physical intimacy (social vs. sexual-physical, p =0.0013). In addition, social (rs =.299, p =0.023), nonsexual physical (rs =.312, p =0.019), and intellectual (rs =.382, p =0.005) intimacy were associated with life satisfaction. Nursing home care providers can enhance resident quality of life through social, intellectual, and nonsexual physical interactions even when the underlying medical, physical, or cognitive deficit cannot be ameliorated.  相似文献

In nursing today, it remains unclear what constitutes a good foundation for qualitative scientific inquiry. There is a tendency to define qualitative research as a form of inductive inquiry; deductive practice is seldom discussed, and when it is, this usually occurs in the context of data analysis. We will look at how the terms ‘induction’ and ‘deduction’ are used in qualitative nursing science and by qualitative research theorists, and relate these uses to the traditional definitions of these terms by Popper and other philosophers of science. We will also question the assertion that qualitative research is or should be inductive. The position we defend here is that qualitative research should use deductive methods. We also see a need to understand the difference between the creative process needed to create theory and the justification of a theory. Our position is that misunderstandings regarding the philosophy of science and the role of inductive and deductive logic and science are still harming the development of nursing theory and science. The purpose of this article is to discuss and reflect upon inductive and deductive views of science as well as inductive and deductive analyses in qualitative research. We start by describing inductive and deductive methods and logic from a philosophy of science perspective, and we examine how the concepts of induction and deduction are often described and used in qualitative methods and nursing research. Finally, we attempt to provide a theoretical perspective that reconciles the misunderstandings regarding induction and deduction. Our conclusion is that openness towards deductive thinking and testing hypotheses is needed in qualitative nursing research. We must also realize that strict induction will not create theory; to generate theory, a creative leap is needed.  相似文献

目的:探究中职护生的气质类型和情绪智力的关系。方法采用气质量表和情绪智力量表对397名中职护生进行调查。结果不同气质类型的情绪智力有显著差异(F=3.27,P<0.001)。其中多血质的情绪智力得分最高,黏液质次之,而胆-抑气质的情绪智力得分最低;胆汁质与情绪智力呈显著正相关(r=0.109,P<0.05),多血质和黏液质与情绪智力呈显著正相关(r=0.247,0.162,P<0.01);气质类型中多血质和黏液质对情绪智力具有显著的正向预测作用(β=0.233,0.215,P<0.001),抑郁质对情绪智力具有显著的负向预测作用(β=-0.117,P<0.05)。结论气质类型与情绪智力存在一定的相关。  相似文献
