Failure of any restoration for any cause is a disagreeable experience for both the patient and the dentist. Failure of a gold inlay is even more so since the cost of this service is greater and the time consumed in remaking is costly to both patient in time and the dentist in time and expense.     

A CAD-CAM ceramic inlay technique

This article details the technique of a Cerec computer-aided designed (CAD) and computer-aided manufactured (CAM) inlay. Using a ceramic material the unit can mill an inlay from an optical "impression" that is then bonded to place using a dual-cure composite resin cement.

Conservative inlay fixed partial denture: a clinical and laboratory technique

Fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) fixed partial dentures (FPDs) offer a clinical alternative for the restoration of single missing teeth and short-span posterior and anterior FPDs. This treatment modality is conservative and cost-efficient. The continuous improvement of adhesives and resin-based composite systems makes this type of restoration successful with good esthetic and functional results. This article reports the case of a patient who received an FRC FPD as a treatment modality and illustrates the clinical procedure as well as a new laboratory technique utilizing a clear matrix for the fabrication of the prosthesis.     

A two-pour technique for investing interim partial dentures

A technique for the use of two stone layers to invest an interim partial denture has been presented. Holding all components on the master cast ensures accuracy.     

An esthetic, bonded inlay/onlay technique for posterior teeth

In the past, the primary focus of dentistry has been on the alleviation of pain and stopping the progression of disease. The reduction in the prevalence of dental caries, along with advances in adhesive technology, have combined to revolutionize the practice of dentistry today. The modern dentist, using the latest available cosmetic techniques, is now able to satisfy the emotional wants and needs of patients. The public, well informed about the possibilities for anterior esthetics, now desire tooth-colored restorations in the posterior. A new heat- and pressure-curing resin inlay/onlay material and the clinical and laboratory technique for its use are discussed.     

Use of pocket inlay grafts and tuberoplasty in maxillary prosthetic construction

A method of surgical and prosthetic rehabilitation of the severely atrophic maxillae using pocket inlay grafts and tuberoplasty is presented. At $\text{2}\text{1}\text{2}$ years postoperatively, the denture in a patient treated in this manner remains stable with good retention and function. The principles presented may be applied in a variety of situations to achieve greater retention and stability of the maxillary denture.
