Because the tongue is superficially located and the intial manifestation of most diseases occurring there is mucosal change, lingual these lesions can be easily accessed and diagnosed without imaging analysis. Most congenital lesions of the tongue, however, can manifest as a submucosal bulge and be located in a deep portion of that organ such as its base; their true characteristics and extent may be recognized only on cross-sectional images such as those obtained by CT or MRI. In addition, because it is usually difficult to differentiate congenital lesions from other submucosal neoplasms on the basis of imaging findings alone, clinical history and physical examination should always be taken into consideration when interpretating CT and MR images of the tongue.Although the radiologic findings for congenital lesions are nonspecific, CT and MR imaging can play an important role in the diagnostic work-up of these unusual lesions. Delineation of the extent of the tumor, and recognition and understanding of the spectrum of imaging and the pathologic features of these lesions, often help narrow the differential diagnosis.  相似文献

Benign primary cardiac neoplasms are rare but may cause significant morbidity and mortality. However, they are usually treatable and can often be diagnosed with echocardiography, computed tomography (CT), or magnetic resonance (MR) imaging. Myxomas typically arise from the interatrial septum from a narrow base of attachment. Fibroelastomas are easily detected at echocardiography as small, mobile masses attached to valves by a short pedicle. Cardiac fibromas manifest as a large, noncontractile, solid mass in a ventricular wall at echocardiography and as a homogeneous mass with soft-tissue attenuation at CT. They are usually homogeneous and hypointense on T2-weighted MR images and isointense relative to muscle on T1-weighted images. Paragangliomas usually appear as large, echogenic left atrial masses at echocardiography and as circumscribed, heterogeneous masses with low attenuation at CT. These tumors are usually markedly hyperintense on T2-weighted MR images and iso- or hypointense relative to myocardium on T1-weighted images. Cardiac lipomas manifest at CT as homogeneous, low-attenuation masses in a cardiac chamber or in the pericardial space and demonstrate homogeneous increased signal intensity that decreases with fat-saturated sequences at T1-weighted MR imaging. Cardiac lymphangiomas manifest as cystic masses at echocardiography and typically demonstrate increased signal intensity at T1- and T2-weighted MR imaging. Familiarity with these imaging features and with the relative effectiveness of these modalities is essential for prompt diagnosis and effective treatment.  相似文献

Purpose: To study MR findings for clues to the diagnosis of lingual thyroid.Material and Methods: MR findings and clinical and scintigraphic data of 5 cases of lingual thyroid were reviewed and the MR findings were compared to those of 16 cases of other submucosal lesions in the base of the tongue. Results: Four of the 5 patients with lingual thyroid were women and all had hypothyroidism. MR imaging depicted lingual thyroid in the midline in the base of the tongue (n=5) and additional ectopic thyroid glands in the floor of the mouth (n=2) or between the right and left sternohyoid muscles (n=1). Ectopic thyroid glands appeared isointense or hyperintense relative to muscle tissue on T1-weighted images and showed slight or fair contrast enhancement. All glands had low to intermediate T2 signal, which was also seen in 1 case of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and 1 case of adenoid cystic carcinoma. All ectopic thyroid glands had well-defined margins, whereas malignant tumors tended to have ill-defined margins and to invade the surrounding structures. All but the 5 cases of lingual thyroid had an MR-demonstrable thyroid gland in the normal cervical position. Conclusion: A well-defined mass of low-intermediate T2 signal in the midline base of the tongue, neither with invasive tendency nor with a cervical thyroid gland in the normal site on MR imaging, may strongly indicate lingual thyroid.  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: A lingual abscess is difficult to diagnose in the absence of physical signs. MR imaging may provide an excellent and invaluable adjunct to clinical examination, but the literature is incomplete in defining the various MR imaging findings of abscess. The objective of this study was to determine the MR imaging features of tongue abscesses. METHODS: Seven surgically proved tongue abscesses were evaluated with MR imaging. Four patients underwent MR imaging because of suspected tumor, and 3 patients, to show the extent and precise anatomic location of the lesion. Lesions were assessed with regard to the location, size, signal-intensity characteristics, and pattern of contrast enhancement. RESULTS: Five lesions were located in the anterior tongue and 2, in the posterior tongue. The central parts of 4 anterior tongue abscesses were hypointense, surrounded by a hyperintense wall on T1-weighted precontrast images. On postcontrast images, marked wall enhancement was detected. On T2-weighted images, a markedly hyperintense central part surrounded by a hypointense rim was seen. In 2 of these patients, there was a hypointense halo surrounding the wall (target sign). In 3 patients, a perilesional hyperintense area that enhanced diffusely after contrast administration was detected on T2-weighted images. The smallest lesion located in the anterior tongue was hypointense on T1-weighted images and enhanced diffusely on postcontrast images. On T2-weighted images, a markedly hyperintense central part surrounded by a mildly hyperintense peripheral part was depicted. Posterior tongue lesions appeared as polypoid ill-defined masses and were hypointense on T1-weighted images and heterogeneously hyperintense on T2-weighted images. On postcontrast images, the lesion in 1 patient showed diffuse and heterogeneous contrast enhancement, whereas the lesion in another patient enhanced peripherally. The lesions were totally excised in 4 patients and drained with surgical incisions in 3 patients. No recurrence was detected on follow-up. CONCLUSION: An abscess typically presents as a cystic lesion surrounded by an enhancing capsule formation, but lesions may also present as solid masses that enhance diffusely or peripherally.  相似文献

Myositis ossificans: MR appearance with radiologic-pathologic correlation   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
We reviewed retrospectively the MR images of eight histologically proved cases of myositis ossificans and correlated the MR appearance with the histologic findings, as well as with other radiologic studies. Patients with available MR images were chosen from a group of 326 cases in our radiologic archives of histologically proved and radiologically correlated myositis ossificans. In addition to MR images, all patients had plain radiographs, six had CT scans, and two had arteriograms. On T2-weighted spin-echo MR, the lesions were relatively well defined and inhomogeneous and had intermediate to high signal intensity. The latter corresponded to a central proliferating core of fibroblasts and myofibroblasts with a myxoid stroma resembling nodular fasciitis, rimmed by osteoblasts with bone production. Edema surrounded lesions less than a few months old. T1-weighted images of early lesions were normal or showed evidence of a mass by displacement of fat planes. Hemorrhage and fluid-fluid levels were seen in one lesion of intermediate duration. Mature lesions tended to be well defined with inhomogeneous signal intensity, similar to that of fat, representing areas of fat situated between bone trabeculae within the lesion. We present the MR appearance of myositis ossificans and correlate it with other radiologic studies and the histologic findings. The varying appearance of myositis ossificans relates to the histologic changes that occur as the disorder progresses. Knowledge of the MR appearance of myositis ossificans is important in that the lesion has many of the MR imaging characteristics frequently associated with malignancy.  相似文献

Intraocular tumors: evaluation with MR imaging   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Sixty-seven ocular tumors were studied with magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and computed tomography (CT). These tumors included primary uveal melanoma (n = 55), circumscribed choroidal hemangioma (n = 3), diffuse choroidal hemangioma (n = 1), retinal capillary hemangioma (n = 1), medulloepithelioma (n = 1), choroidal nevus (n = 1), retinoblastoma (n = 1), and choroidal metastases (n = 4). MR imaging demonstrated all these lesions, while CT demonstrated 88%. Associated retinal detachment was more easily distinguished from the neoplasms with MR imaging. Extrascleral extension of melanoma and hemorrhagic cystic necrosis within the melanoma were clearly demonstrated with MR imaging, but not with CT. Ninety-three percent of melanomas were markedly hyperintense, compared with the intensity of the vitreous body, on T1-weighted images and hypointense on T2-weighted images. All metastatic lesions were isointense on T1-weighted images and hypointense on T2-weighted images. The circumscribed choroidal hemangiomas were hyperintense on T1-weighted images and isointense on T2-weighted images. MR imaging is superior to CT in detection of intraocular tumors and may be more specific in diagnosis.  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Synovial sarcomas are soft-tissue tumors that rarely occur in the head and neck. The purpose of this study was to evaluate their CT and MR imaging appearance and to show that they may have a surprisingly benign imaging appearance. METHODS: Eight patients with histologically proved synovial sarcoma underwent CT; additionally, MR imaging examinations were performed in five of the eight cases. Attenuation and signal intensity on CT scans and MR images, respectively, were studied by two radiologists. They analyzed the location, size, margins, homogeneity, presence of adenopathies and infiltrative signs, and enhancement after injection of contrast medium. RESULTS: Four tumors were located in the hypopharynx, two arose from the infratemporal fossa, one arose from the maxillary sinus, and one arose from the faucial tonsil. Tumor sizes ranged from 27 to 70 mm. On CT scans and MR images, six lesions were homogeneous and well defined, with smooth margins. The remaining tumors were heterogeneous. In two cases, adjacent tissues were invaded. Calcifications were observed in one case and adenopathy in two cases. In three cases, the lesions were isointense on T1-weighted MR images and hypointense on T2-weighted MR images, and in the other two cases in which MR imaging was performed, the lesions were both isointense and hypointense on both T1- and T2-weighted images. Only the two local recurrent lesions were multilocular. CONCLUSION: Synovial sarcomas are aggressive sarcomas that may appear "benign" in some cases. In a young man, a synovial sarcoma may be suspected when a well-demarcated, homogeneous lesion is found in the head and neck.  相似文献

Fifty-seven magnetic resonance (MR) imaging examinations were obtained at 0.5 T in 19 patients before and after percutaneous ethanol injection (PEI) for 23 hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) lesions less than 3.5 cm in diameter. Seventeen patients also underwent MR imaging 6 months after completion of therapy. In 11 patients, computed tomography was performed before and after treatment. After PEI, fine-needle biopsy specimens were obtained in all cases. Before treatment, HCC lesions had low signal intensity on T1-weighted images in 13 cases, had the same signal intensity as normal liver parenchyma in six, and had high signal intensity in four; all 23 tumors had high signal intensity on T2-weighted images. After treatment and at 6-month follow-up, all 21 lesions that contained no malignant cells at fine-needle biopsy had high signal intensity on T1-weighted images and had low signal intensity on T2-weighted images. The remaining two HCC lesions in which tumor necrosis was not achieved with PEI displayed a different MR pattern, since the residual neoplastic tissue showed no change in signal intensity on either T1- or T2-weighted images. The authors conclude that MR imaging may be useful for evaluating the effectiveness of PEI in achieving tumor regression.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to present the imaging findings with particular reference to the FLAIR magnetic resonance (MR) pulse sequence, of four patients with epidermoid cysts. In all cases CT showed hypodense lesions with stippled peripheral calcifications and no enhancement. The MR showed low signal intensity lesions in T1-weighted images, high signal intensity in T2-weighted lesions, no or minor enhancement after gadolinium administration and characteristic heterogeneous appearance in FLAIR images. Including the FLAIR sequence in MR imaging, a specific diagnosis can be suggested.  相似文献

PURPOSETo describe the CT and MR findings in the denervated tongue after a radical neck dissection.METHODSWe retrospectively evaluated the radiologic findings in seven patients who had hypoglossal paralysis following radical neck dissection. None of the patients had clinical or radiologic evidence of tumor recurrence.RESULTSThe side of the tongue operated on showed low density on CT scans. At MR imaging, denervated tongues were clearly seen as hyperintense relative to muscle on T2-weighted images; on T1-weighted images, the signal was hypointense to hyperintense, representing increased extracellular water or fatty degeneration.CONCLUSIONIn patients who have undergone a neck dissection for a malignant process, abnormal imaging findings in the tongue not only might indicate a recurrence of tumor involving the hypoglossal nerve but also suggest the possibility of postoperative change. Our findings emphasize the importance of the denervated tongue in differentiating inflammatory from neoplastic diseases of the the tongue.  相似文献

AIM: To define the magnetic resonance (MR) imaging features of tophaceous gout of the spine. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We present the MR imaging examinations of 4 patients with spinal tophaceous gout. Spin-echo T1-weighted and fast spin-echo T2-weighted images were obtained for all patients, and 2 patients had gadolinium-enhanced MR imaging studies. Corresponding computed tomography (CT) was performed in one patient. All images were evaluated for the characteristics of the gouty tophi. RESULTS: The gouty tophi were located at the lower thoracic (n=1) and lumbar (n=3) levels. All tophi yielded homogeneous intermediate to low signal on T1-weighted images and variable signal intensity on T2-weighted images, comprising small foci of very low signal intensity on all sequences. Gadolinium-enhanced MR imaging studies revealed homogeneous enhancement or heterogeneous peripheral enhancement. Diffuse stippled calcifications were found in the tophi on CT images. Periarticular tophi with juxtaarticular bony erosions around facet joints occurred in 3 patients. CONCLUSION: Spinal tophaceous gout should be considered in the differential diagnosis when periarticular deposits contain very low signal foci on all MR imaging sequences.  相似文献

MR and CT of lacunar infarcts   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Twenty-two patients with clinical signs and symptoms compatible with lacunar transient ischemic attack or stroke of varying chronicity were evaluated with MR imaging. CT was also performed in 21 of these patients. MR revealed small, deep cerebral lesions in locations appropriate to the clinical symptoms in 19 patients. Lacunar infarcts were imaged by CT in 11 patients; however, no lesions were identified on CT that were not detected with MR. Presumed lacunar infarcts were identified on MR images in 17 additional patients. Lacunae generally appeared as focal areas of decreased signal intensity on T1-weighted images and as focal areas of increased signal intensity on T2-weighted images. T2-weighted MR images detected a greater number of lacunar infarcts than did mixed T1-/T2-weighted images, which in turn detected more lacunae than did T1-weighted images. In general, acute lacunar infarcts (within 1 week of onset or recurrence of clinical symptoms) were seen only on T2-weighted images, while chronic lesions (more than 1 week) were seen on both T1- and T2-weighted images. Our results indicate that MR is superior to CT for evaluating lacunar infarcts, and second, that T2-weighted images are more sensitive than T1- and mixed T1-/T2-weighted images for detecting lacunar infarcts.  相似文献

Nodular fasciitis in the head and neck: CT and MR imaging findings   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: The purpose of this study was to describe the CT and MR imaging findings of nodular fasciitis occurring in the head and neck region. METHODS: CT (n = 6) and MR (n = 4) images obtained from 7 patients (3 men and 4 women; mean age, 19.4 years; age range, 1-48 years) with surgically confirmed nodular fasciitis in the head and neck were retrospectively reviewed. All patients presented with a palpable mass in the head and neck that was noticed 1-3 months earlier: 5 in the face, one in the occipital scalp, and the remaining one in the supraclavicular fossa. We investigated the CT and MR imaging characteristics with emphasis on the location, size, internal content, margin, enhancement pattern, and signal intensity of the lesion. RESULTS: All lesions appeared as a discrete mass on imaging, ranging from 1.0 cm to 4.6 cm in diameter (mean, 2.2 cm). Six lesions, all of which appeared benign, were located in the subcutaneous tissue superficial to the deep cervical fascia. The remaining lesion was located deep to the temporalis muscle and showed an aggressive imaging appearance, markedly eroding the bony orbit and skull. Five lesions were solid, and 2 lesions were partly or completely cystic in appearance. Five lesions were well defined, whereas 2 lesions were ill defined. Four of 5 solid lesions showed moderate to marked diffuse enhancement, whereas the remaining lesion demonstrated mild enhancement. Two cystic lesions showed peripheral, nodular, or rim-like enhancement. Compared with muscle, both solid lesions had isointense signal intensity on T1-weighted images and hyperintense signal intensity on T2-weighted images, whereas the signal intensity of the solid portions of the deep-seated, partly cystic lesion was isointense on both T1-weighted and T2-weighted images. CONCLUSION: Although rare, nodular fasciitis occurs as a discrete solid or cystic mass in the head and neck, depending on the predominant stromal components. When one sees a head and neck mass with a superficial location and moderate to marked enhancement on CT and MR imaging, nodular fasciitis should be included in the differential diagnosis, especially in patients with a recently developed, rapidly growing mass and a history of recent trauma.  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: Intracranial solitary fibrous tumors (ISFTs) are rare mesenchymal neoplasms originating in the meninges. The aim of this study was to describe the CT, MR imaging, and angiographic features of the solitary fibrous tumor and to identify imaging characteristics. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed CT, MR, and angiographic findings in 6 cases of ISFT. We evaluated the size, shape, and location of the tumor; the internal content and margin of the lesion; the pattern of enhancement; and the change of the adjacent structures. Density on noncontrast CT scans, signal intensity on MR images, and angiographic features were also documented. RESULTS: Each lesion appeared as a discrete extra-axial mass (size, 3-7 cm; mean, 5 cm). Five lesions were entirely solid, and 1 had peritumoral cyst. All 5 of the noncontrast CT scans showed hyperattenuated masses, and the tumors exhibited marked heterogeneous enhancement. No lesion contained calcification, and 2 cases showed bone invasions. On the MR images, 4 lesions showed mixed signal intensity on T2-weighted imaging. All of the lesions revealed marked heterogeneous enhancement. All of the tumors had thickening of the meninges adjacent to the tumor. Angiography showed delayed tumor blushing in all, and 3 of them had dysplastic dilation of the tumor vessels. CONCLUSION: Although there are no pathognomonic imaging findings, some imaging features, such as the "black-and-white mixed" pattern on T2-weighted images and marked heterogeneous enhancement, might be helpful in the diagnosis of intracranial solitary fibrous tumor.  相似文献

Leiomyomas are the most common uterine neoplasm and are composed of smooth muscle with varying amounts of fibrous connective tissue. As leiomyomas enlarge, they may outgrow their blood supply, resulting in various types of degeneration: hyaline or myxoid degeneration, calcification, cystic degeneration, and red degeneration. Leiomyomas are classified as submucosal, intramural, or subserosal; the latter may become pedunculated and simulate ovarian neoplasms. Although most leiomyomas are asymptomatic, patients may present with abnormal uterine bleeding, pressure on adjacent organs, pain, infertility, or a palpable abdominalpelvic mass. Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is the most accurate imaging technique for detection and localization of leiomyomas. On T2-weighted images, nondegenerated leiomyomas appear as well-circumscribed masses of decreased signal intensity; however, cellular leiomyomas can have relatively higher signal intensity on T2-weighted images and demonstrate enhancement on contrast material-enhanced images. Degenerated leiomyomas have variable appearances on T2-weighted images and contrast-enhanced images. The differential diagnosis of leiomyomas includes adenomyosis, solid adnexal mass, focal myometrial contraction, and uterine leiomyosarcoma. For patients with symptoms, medical or surgical treatment may be indicated. MR imaging also has a role in treatment of leiomyomas by assisting in surgical planning and monitoring the response to medical therapy.  相似文献

Cystic neoplasms of the pancreas: comparison of MR imaging with CT   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3

Cystic neoplasms of the pancreas are divided into two major groups: microcystic adenomas and mucinous cystic neoplasms. Five microcystic adenomas and seven mucinous cystic neoplasms (three cystadenomas and four cystadenocarcinomas) were examined with both magnetic resonance (MR) imaging and computed tomography (CT). The cystic content was differentiated more easily with MR imaging than with CT. It was homogeneous in four of the five microcystic adenomas, all of which had lobulated borders best seen on T2-weighted images. The mucinous cystadenomas and cystadenocarcinomas were all composed of multiple compartments that varied in signal intensity. The septa, shape, and wall thickness were demonstrated on T1- and/or T2-weighted MR images almost as well as on CT scans. Overall, MR imaging was equal or slightly superior to CT in the diagnosis of pancreatic cystic neoplasms, except in its limited ability to demonstrate calcifications of the tumor wall and septa.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine whether solitary pulmonary tuberculoma and malignant tumor can be differentiated on the basis of magnetic resonance (MR) signal intensity. Twenty-eight patients with solitary pulmonary lesions were prospectively studied with MR imaging: T1-weighted, enhanced T1-weighted, proton density-weighted, and T2-weighted spin echo images were obtained. The confirmation methods used were computed tomography (CT)-guided biopsy in seven patients with lung cancer and four patients with tuberculosis; surgery in ten patients with lung cancer and five patients with tuberculosis; and laboratory data in two patients with tuberculosis. Morphologic features and MR signal intensity were examined in detail. As the test for detection of tuberculoma, signal difference on T2-weighted images was carefully analyzed. The signal intensity ratio of the nodule to thoracic muscle signal intensity was measured. The signal intensities obtained from the lung cancers and tuberculomas were variable on pre-and post-enhanced T1-weighted images and proton density-weighted images. Masses were hypointense in 2 of 17 patients with lung cancer and in 9 of 11 patients with tuberculoma on T2-weighted images (sensitivity 82%, specificity 89%, accuracy 87%). The mean signal intensity ratios of the tuberculomas to muscle were significantly lower than those of malignant tumors on T1-weighted, enhanced T1-weighted, proton density-weighted, and T2-weighted images (P < 0.0001). After gadolinium-DTPA enhancement, 2 malignant tumors and 7 tuberculomas showed a marginal rim enhancement pattern, whereas 15 malignant tumors and 2 tuberculomas revealed a diffuse enhancement. The results of MR imaging were consistent with those of CT in 84% of the patients. MR imaging is a helpful adjunctive method in terms of differentiating a tuberculoma from a malignant tumor.  相似文献

PURPOSEThe purpose of this study was to evaluate the temporal changes of MR imaging in the denervated tongue after a radical neck dissection.METHODSOne hundred seventy-four consecutive MR studies in 116 patients with radical neck dissections for malignant tumors of the head and neck were evaluated retrospectively. Patients with tumors involving the tongue or hypoglossal nerve were not included in this study.RESULTSAbnormal signal intensity and/or hemiatrophy on the side of the tongue operated on was seen in 22 patients who had hypoglossal paralysis after radical neck dissection. The denervated side of the tongue appeared hypointense to hyperintense relative to the normal side on T1-weighted images and hyperintense on T2-weighted images. Signal intensity ratios of the abnormal to normal muscles were 0.9-1.6 on T1-weighted images and 1.3-2.8 on T2-weighted images. High signal intensity on T1-weighted images appeared 5 months or more after the dissection, whereas on T2-weighted images, the most prominent increases in signal intensity appeared in the first several months after denervation. Hemiatrophy of the tongue was observed on MR images obtained more than 6 months after surgery.CONCLUSIONMR findings in the denervated tongue are compatible with histologic changes and are characterized by an enlarged extracellular fluid space or fatty infiltration. The pattern of signal intensity and the degree of hemiatrophy suggest the duration of denervation.  相似文献

Magnetic resonance imaging of myositis ossificans: analysis of seven cases   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
Myositis ossificans typically presents as soft tissue swelling with progressive ossification on radiographs. Since magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is commonly used to evaluate soft tissue masses, we analyzed eight MR examinations in seven patients with myositis ossificans to determine if typical patterns were present. One acute lesion had homogeneous intermediate signal intensity on T1-weighted images and high signal intensity on T2-weighted images. Two subacute lesions had low signal intensity margins with slightly increased signal intensity centers on T1-weighted images and very high signal intensity on T2-weighted images. Five chronic lesions had two different patterns. All five were well-defined with low signal intensity borders. Three had signal intensity patterns characteristic of fat on T1-weighted and T2-weighted images. The other two lesions had intermediate signal intensity on T1-weighted images and slightly increased signal intensity on T2-weighted images. We conclude that typical MR appearances of myositis ossificans do exist. A low signal intensity rim is a common finding. However, these patterns are not unique to myositis ossificans and resemble those that have been reported in other lesions. It is important to be aware of the spectrum of MR findings of myositis ossificans when considering the differential diagnosis of a soft tissue mass.  相似文献

The clinical and radiologic findings in 19 patients with partial complex seizures and surgically proved intracerebral gangliogliomas were reviewed to characterize the radiologic features of these lesions. The CT and MR findings were not specific. On CT the gangliogliomas can be hypodense with no enhancement and they often have calcifications. On MR these tumors have a wide variety of signals. In five of our cases the tumor had a high-intensity signal with a cystlike component on proton density- and T2-weighted images. In five cases the lesion had an inhomogeneously intense signal on proton density-weighted images and high signal intensity on T2-weighted images. The tumor had high-intensity signal on both proton density- and T2-weighted images in four patients. Finally, in two cases the MR findings were normal. We recommend MR as the examination of choice for patients with partial complex seizures because it allows an artifact-free evaluation of the temporal region. However, CT should also be performed in order to recognize calcifications that may be missed on the MR examination.  相似文献
