Properties of Co-based alloys with high Glass Forming Ability (GFA) in the form of powder are still not widely known. However, powders of high GFA alloys are often used for the development of bulk metallic glasses by additive manufacturing. In this work Co47.6B21.9Fe20.4Si5.1Nb5% at. and Co42B26.5Fe20Ta5.5Si5Cu1% at. were developed by gas-atomization. Obtained powders in size 50–80 µm were annealed at Tg and Tx of each alloy. Then SEM observation, EDS analyses, differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffraction, nanoindentation, Mössbauer, and magnetic properties research was carried out for as-atomized and annealed states. The gas atomization method proved to be an efficient method for manufacturing Co-based metallic glasses. The obtained powder particles were spherical and chemically homogeneous. Annealing resulted in an increase of mechanical properties such as hardness and the elastic module of Co47.6B21.9Fe20.4Si5.1Nb5% at and Co42B26.5Fe20Ta5.5Si5Cu1%, which was caused by crystallization. The magnetic study shows that Co47.6B21.9Fe20.4Si5.1Nb5 and Co42B26.5Fe20Ta5.5Si5Cu1 are soft magnetic and semi-hard magnetic materials, respectively.  相似文献

The paper presents a comparison of the results of the corrosion resistance for three Fe-B-Co-Si-based newly developed alloys with the addition of Nb and V. The corrosion performance differences and microstructure variations were systematically studied using scanning electron microscope, electric corrosion equipment, X-ray diffractometer, and differential calorimeter. It has been shown that each alloying addition increased the corrosion resistance. The highest corrosion resistance obtained by potentiodynamic polarization was found for the alloy with both Nb and V addons (Fe57Co10B20Si5Nb4V4) and lowest in the case of the basic four-element Fe62Co15B14Si9 material. This shows that the proper choice of additions is of significant influence on the final performance of the alloy and allows tailoring of the material for specific applications.  相似文献

The effects of the substitution of Fe by Co or Ni on both the structure and the magnetic properties of FeB amorphous alloy were investigated using first-principle molecular dynamics. The pair distribution function, Voronoi polyhedra, and density of states of Fe80−xTMxB20 (x = 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 at.%, TM(Transition Metal): Co, Ni) amorphous alloys were calculated. The results show that with the increase in Co content, the saturation magnetization of Fe80−xCoxB20 (x = 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 at.%) amorphous alloys initially increases and then decreases upon reaching the maximum at x = 10 at.%, while for Fe80−xNixB20 (x = 0, 10, 20, 30, and 40 at.%), the saturation magnetization decreases monotonously with the increase in Ni content. Accordingly, for the two kinds of amorphous alloys, the obtained simulation results on the variation trends of the saturation magnetization with the change in alloy composition are in good agreement with the experimental observation. Furthermore, the relative maximum magnetic moment was recorded for Fe70Co10B20 amorphous alloy, due to the induced increased magnetic moments of the Fe atoms surrounding the Co atom in the case of low Co dopant, as well as the increase in the exchange splitting energy caused by the enhancement of local atomic symmetry.  相似文献

The composition of the Cr27Fe24Co18Ni26Nb5 high-entropy alloy was selected from the FCC phase in a CrFeCoNiNb alloy. The alloy was melted in an argon atmosphere arc-furnace, followed by annealing in an air furnace. The dendrites of the alloy were in the FCC phase, and the eutectic interdendrites of the alloy comprised HCP and FCC phases. The microstructures and hardness of this alloy were examined; the results indicated that this alloy was very stable. This microstructure and hardness of the alloy almost remained the same after annealing at 1000 °C for 24 h. The polarization behaviors of Cr27Fe24Co18Ni26Nb5 alloy in 1 N sulfuric acid and 1 N hydrochloric acid solutions were measured. Both the corrosion potential and the corrosion current density of the Cr27Fe24Co18Ni26Nb5 alloy increased with increasing test temperatures. The activation energies of the Cr27Fe24Co18Ni26Nb5 alloy in these two solutions were also calculated.  相似文献

The effect of substitution of Fe by Cu on the crystal structure and magnetic properties of Fe72−xNi8Nb4CuxSi2B14 alloys (x = 0.6, 1.1, 1.6 at.%) in the form of ribbons was investigated. The chemical composition of the materials was established on the basis of the calculated minima of thermodynamic parameters: Gibbs free energy of amorphous phase formation ΔGamorph (minimum at 0.6 at.% of Cu) and Gibbs free energy of mixing ΔGmix (minimum at 1.6 at.% of Cu). The characteristic crystallization temperatures Tx1onset and Tx1 of the alpha-iron phase together with the activation energy Ea for the as-spun samples were determined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) with a heating rate of 10–100 °C/min. In order to determine the optimal soft magnetic properties, the wound cores were subjected to a controlled isothermal annealing process in the temperature range of 340–640 °C for 20 min. Coercivity Hc, saturation induction Bs and core power losses at B = 1 T and frequency f = 50 Hz P10/50 were determined for all samples. Moreover, for the samples with the lowest Hc and P10/50, the magnetic losses were determined in a wider frequency range 50 Hz–400 kHz. The real and imaginary parts of the magnetic permeability µ′, µ″ along with the cut-off frequency were determined for the samples annealed at 360, 460, and 560 °C. The best soft magnetic properties (i.e., the lowest value of Hc and P10/50) were observed for samples annealed at 460 °C, with Hc = 4.88–5.69 A/m, Bs = 1.18–1.24 T, P10/50 = 0.072–0.084 W/kg, µ′ = 8350–10,630 and cutoff frequency at 8–9.3 × 104 Hz. The structural study of as-spun and annealed ribbons was carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and a transmission electron microscope (TEM).  相似文献

The aim of the paper was to study the structure, magnetic properties and critical behavior of the Fe60Co12Gd4Mo3B21 alloy. The X-ray diffractometry and the Mössbauer spectroscopy studies confirmed amorphous structure. The analysis of temperature evolution of the exponent n (ΔSM = C·(Bmax)n) and the Arrott plots showed the second order phase transition in investigated material. The analysis of critical behavior was carried out in order to reveal the critical exponents and precise TC value. The ascertained critical exponents were used to determine the theoretical value of the exponent n, which corresponded well with experimental results.  相似文献

In the present work, the microstructure and its effect on the magnetic, magnetocaloric, and magnetoelastic properties of the Tb55Co30Fe15 melt-spun ribbon were investigated. The ribbon exhibits typical amorphous characteristics in its X-ray diffraction examination and differential scanning calorimetry measurement. However, the magnetic properties of the ribbon indicate that the ribbon is inhomogeneous in the nanoscale, as ascertained by a high-resolution electron microscope. Compared to the Tb55Co45 amorphous alloy, the Tb55Co30Fe15 ribbon shows poor magnetocaloric properties but outstanding magnetostriction. A rather high value of reversible magnetostriction up to 788 ppm under 5 T was obtained. The mechanism for the formation of nanoparticles and its effect on the magnetocaloric and magnetostrictive properties were investigated.  相似文献

Three Fe-based ribbon-type samples prepared by a conventional planar flow casting process are studied from the viewpoint of the amorphous Fe80Si4B16 and partially surface crystallized Fe80Si10B10, and Fe80.5Nb6.9B12.6, microstructures. Surface magnetic properties are investigated by magneto-optical Kerr microscopy, allowing the measurement of a local hysteresis loop from a selected area on the ribbon surface, and simultaneously, a domain structure corresponding to a definite point at the loop. For an amorphous sample, the changes in the slopes of hysteresis loops are related either to the size of the selected surface area, from which the loop is measured, or to the type, width, and movement of magnetic domains through this area. In the first case, the resizing of the area simulates an effect of changing the diameter of the incident laser beam on the magneto-optical properties of the ribbon. In the latter case, the observed wide-curved and fingerprint domains are responsible for markedly different shapes of the hysteresis loops at lower magnetic fields. If the surface is crystallized, the magnetic properties are more homogenous, showing typical one-jump magnetization reversal with less dependence on the size of the surface area. The magneto-optical experiments are completed by transmission electron microscopy and magnetic force microscopy.  相似文献

This paper refers to the structural and magnetic properties of [(Fe80Nb6B14)0.88Dy0.12]1−xZrx (x = 0; 0.01; 0.02; 0.05; 0.1; 0.2; 0.3; 0.5) alloys obtained by the vacuum mold suction casting method. The analysis of the phase contribution indicated a change in the compositions of the alloys. For x < 0.05, occurrence of the dominant Dy2Fe14B phase was observed, while a further increase in the Zr content led to the increasing contribution of the Fe–Zr compounds and, simultaneously, separation of crystalline Dy. The dilution of (Fe80Nb6B14)0.88Dy0.12 in Zr strongly influenced the magnetization processes of the examined alloys. Generally, with the increasing x parameter, we observed a decrease in coercivity; however, the unexpected increase in magnetic saturation and remanence for x = 0.2 and x = 0.3 was shown and discussed.  相似文献

In this experiment, the rare earth Gd element was added to Finemet alloy to observe the microstructure and soft magnetic properties. The experimental results showed that the samples with the addition of 0.5% Gd and 1.0% Gd can be quenched and cast normally, and the MS of Fe73Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9Gd0.5 alloy was 10.41% higher than that of Finemet. After annealing, crystal grains of about 10 nm were formed. The μi and μm values of Fe73Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9Gd0.5 alloy were 25.51% and 22.23% higher, respectively, and the coercivity HC was reduced by 12.19% compared to Finemet. At 1 kHz, the μe value of Fe73Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9Gd0.5 alloy at room temperature was 14.57% higher than that of Finemet, while the μe reached 162.34 k and 142.42 k at 90 °C and 150 °C (24% and 29.51% higher, respectively). The Fe72.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9Gd1.0 alloy had the best performance at 100 kHz, with higher μe values than Finemet across the ambient temperature range of 30 °C to 150 °C. After tension annealing, the μe values of Fe72.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9Gd1.0 alloy were 20–30% higher than those of Finemet.  相似文献

This research explores the behavior of Co40Fe40W10B10 when it is sputtered onto Si(100) substrates with a thickness (tf) ranging from 10 nm to 100 nm, and then altered by an annealing process at temperatures of 200 °C, 250 °C, 300 °C, and 350 °C, respectively. The crystal structure and grain size of Co40Fe40W10B10 films with different thicknesses and annealing temperatures are observed and estimated by an X-ray diffractometer pattern (XRD) and full-width at half maximum (FWHM). The XRD of annealing Co40Fe40W10B10 films at 200 °C exhibited an amorphous status due to insufficient heating drive force. Moreover, the thicknesses and annealing temperatures of body-centered cubic (BCC) CoFe (110) peaks were detected when annealing at 250 °C with thicknesses ranging from 80 nm to 100 nm, annealing at 300 °C with thicknesses ranging from 50 nm to 100 nm, and annealing at 350 °C with thicknesses ranging from 10 nm to 100 nm. The FWHM of CoFe (110) decreased and the grain size increased when the thickness and annealing temperature increased. The CoFe (110) peak revealed magnetocrystalline anisotropy, which was related to strong low-frequency alternative-current magnetic susceptibility (χac) and induced an increasing trend in saturation magnetization (Ms) as the thickness and annealing temperature increased. The contact angles of all Co40Fe40W10B10 films were less than 90°, indicating the hydrophilic nature of Co40Fe40W10B10 films. Furthermore, the surface energy of Co40Fe40W10B10 presented an increased trend as the thickness and annealing temperature increased. According to the results, the optimal conditions are a thickness of 100 nm and an annealing temperature of 350 °C, owing to high χac, large Ms, and strong adhesion; this indicates that annealing Co40Fe40W10B10 at 350 °C and with a thickness of 100 nm exhibits good thermal stability and can become a free or pinned layer in a magnetic tunneling junction (MTJ) application.  相似文献

Developing new soft magnetic amorphous alloys with a low cost and high saturation magnetization (Bs) in a simple alloy system has attracted substantial attention for industrialization and commercialization. Herein, the glass-forming ability (GFA), thermodynamic properties, soft magnetic properties, and atomic structures of Fe80+xSi5−xB15 (x = 0–4) amorphous soft magnetic alloys were investigated by ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations and experiments. The pair distribution function (PDF), Voronoi polyhedron (VP), coordination number (CN), and chemical short- range order (CSRO) were analyzed based on the AIMD simulations for elucidating the correlations between the atomic structures with the glass-forming ability and magnetic properties. For the studied compositions, the Fe82Si3B15 amorphous alloy was found to exhibit the strongest solute–solute avoidance effect, the longest Fe-Fe bond, a relatively high partial CN for the Fe-Fe pair, and the most pronounced tendency to form more stable clusters. The simulation results indicated that Fe82Si3B15 was the optimum composition balancing the saturation magnetization and the GFA. This prediction was confirmed by experimental observations. The presented work provides a reference for synthesizing new Fe-Si-B magnetic amorphous alloys.  相似文献

First-principles calculations were performed to investigate the site preference of alloying elements, and the effect of alloying elements on stability, electronic structure and magnetism of Ni3P-type Fe3B. The calculated energies suggested that all studied compounds are thermodynamically stable while it is relatively difficult to synthesize the (Fe2.875,Cu0.125)B, (Fe2.875,W0.125)B and (Fe2.875,Nb0.125)B. The (Fe2.875,W0.125)B is the most stable compound from the view of cohesive energy. Mn element prefers to occupy the Fe2 site, whereas the others are more likely to reside in the Fe1 site. It can be found from the electronic structures that the DOSs of both Fe3B and alloyed Fe3B are dominated by Fe-d states, and all the compounds mainly contain Fe-B covalent bond, Fe-Fe covalent bond and Fe-Fe metallic bond. Based on the magnetic moments (Ms) results, it can be known that the Fe3B, (Fe2.875,Mn0.125)B, (Fe2.875,Co0.125)B, (Fe2.875,Ni0.125)B and (Fe2.875,Cu0.125)B are ferromagnetic compounds, whereas the others are ferrimagnetic compounds. Only Mn and Co are able to enhance the magnetism of Fe3B. Moreover, Mn is the most favorable candidate for improving the magnetic properties of Fe3B among the alloying elements. These results can be used to guide the composition design and performance optimization of magnetic materials containing Fe3B with Ni3P-type structure.  相似文献

Soft magnetic materials are at the core of electromagnetic devices. Planar transformers are essential pieces of equipment working at high frequency. Usually, their magnetic core is made of various types of ferrites or iron-based alloys. An upcoming alternative might be the replacement the ferrites with FINEMET-type alloys, of nominal composition of Fe73.5Si13.5B9Cu3Nb1 (at. %). FINEMET is a nanocrystalline material exhibiting excellent magnetic properties at high frequencies, a soft magnetic alloy that has been in the focus of interest in the last years thanks to its high saturation magnetization, high permeability, and low core loss. Here, we present and discuss the measured and modelled properties of this material. Owing to the limits of the experimental set-up, an estimate of the total magnetic losses within this magnetic material is made, for values greater than the measurement limits of the magnetic flux density and frequency, with reasonable results for potential applications of FINMET-type alloys and thin films in high frequency planar transformer cores.  相似文献

The present study aimed to investigate the influence of the gradual substitution of Fe2O3 by Al2O3 on the thermal properties of polyphosphate glasses. The conducted considerations based on differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and heating microscopy thermal analysis provided much essential information about the correlation between glass chemical composition and its characteristic parameters, such as transformation temperature, specific heat, crystallization temperature, crystallization enthalpy, the activation energy of crystal growth, melting temperature, and Angell glass thermal stability. The obtained estimation of viscosity changes as a function of temperature could be very helpful for researchers to correctly plan the vitrification process and thus radioactive waste immobilization. A precise analysis of DSC curves and X-ray diffraction patterns revealed the possibility of crystallization process design in order to create materials with different levels of crystallinity and phase composition. The drawn conclusions allow choosing the glass with the optimal concentration of Al2O3 and Fe2O3, which ensures the relatively low melting temperature, viscosity, and glass crystallization ability, with application potential in nuclear waste immobilization.  相似文献

Phase formation and microstructure of (Nd1-2xCexYx)14.5Fe79.3B6.2 (x = 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20, 0.25) alloys were studied experimentally. The results reveal that (Nd1-2xCexYx)14.5Fe79.3B6.2 annealed alloys show (NdCeY)2Fe14B phase with the tetragonal Nd2Fe14B-typed structure (space group P42/mnm) and rich-RE (α-Nd) phase, while (Nd1-2xCexYx)14.5Fe79.3B6.2 ribbons prepared by melt-spun technology are composed of (NdCeY)2Fe14B phase, α-Nd phase and α-Fe phase, except for the ribbon with x = 0.25, which consists of additional CeFe2 phase. On the other hand, magnetic properties of (Nd1-2xCexYx)14.5Fe79.3B6.2 melt-spun ribbons were measured by a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The measured results show that the remanence (Br) and the coercivity (Hcj) of the melt-spun ribbons decrease with the increase of Ce and Y substitutions, while the maximum magnetic energy product ((BH)max) of the ribbons decreases and then increases. The tendency of magnetic properties of the ribbons could result from the co-substitution of Ce and Y for Nd in Nd2Fe14B phase and different phase constitutions. It was found that the Hcj of the ribbon with x = 0.20 is relatively high to be 9.01 kOe, while the (BH)max of the ribbon with x = 0.25 still reaches to be 9.06 MGOe. It suggests that magnetic properties of Nd-Fe-B ribbons with Ce and Y co-substitution could be tunable through alloy composition and phase formation to fabricate novel Nd-Fe-B magnets with low costs and high performance.  相似文献

The phase structure and microstructure of Sm12Co88−xCux (x = 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10; at.%) as-cast alloys and melt-spun ribbons prepared via the arc-melting method and melt-spun technology were studied experimentally by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The results reveal that the Sm12Co88−xCux (x = 0) as-cast alloy contains Sm2Co17 and Sm5Co19 phases, while the Sm12Co88−xCux (x = 2) as-cast alloy is composed of Sm2Co17, Sm2Co7 and Sm(Co, Cu)5 phases. Sm2Co17 and Sm(Co, Cu)5 phases are detected in Sm12Co88−xCux (x = 4, 6, 8, 10) as-cast alloys. Meanwhile, Sm12Co88−xCux ribbons show a single SmCo7 phase, which is still formed in the ribbons annealed at 1023 K for one hour. After annealed at 1123 K for two hours, cooled slowly down to 673 K at 0.5 K/min and then kept for four hours, the ribbons are composed of Sm2Co17 and Sm(Co, Cu)5 phases. The magnetic measurements of Sm12Co88−xCux ribbons were performed by vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The results exhibit that the maximum magnetic energy product ((BH)max), the coercivity (Hcj) and the remanence (Br) of the Sm12Co88−xCux ribbons increase generally with the increase in Cu substitution. In particular, the magnetic properties of the ribbons annealed at 1123 K and 673 K increase significantly with the increase in Cu substitution, resulting from the increase in the volume fraction of the formed Sm(Co, Cu)5 phase after heat treatment.  相似文献

The arc-melting method was adopted to prepare the compound La0.5Pr0.5(Fe1−xCox)11.4Si1.6 (x = 0, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.08), and the magnetocaloric effect of the compound was investigated. As indicated by the powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) results, after receiving 7-day high temperature annealing at 1373 K, all the compounds formed a single-phase cubic NaZn13 crystal structure. As indicated by the magnetic measurement, the most significant magnetic entropy change |∆SM(T)| of the sample decreased from 28.92 J/kg·K to 4.22 J/kg·K with the increase of the Co content under the 0–1.5 T magnetic field, while the Curie temperature TC increased from 185 K to the room temperature 296 K, which indicated that this series of alloys are the room temperature magnetic refrigerant material with practical value. By using the ferromagnetic Curie temperature theory and analyzing the effect of Co doping on the exchange integral of these alloys, the mechanism that the Curie temperature of La0.5Pr0.5(Fe1−xCox)11.4Si1.6 and La0.8Ce0.2(Fe1−xCox)11.4Si1.6 increased with the increase in the Co content was reasonably explained. Accordingly, this paper can provide a theoretical reference for subsequent studies.  相似文献

The ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) in the frequency range of 0.5 to 12.5 GHz has been investigated as a function of external magnetic field for rapidly quenched Fe3Co67Cr3Si15B12 amorphous ribbons with different features of the effective magnetic anisotropy. Three states of the ribbons were considered: as-quenched without any treatment; after relaxation annealing without stress at the temperature of 350 °C during 1 h; and after annealing under specific stress of 230 MPa at the temperature of 350 °C during 1 h. For FMR measurements, we adapted a technique previously proposed and tested for the case of microwires. Here, amorphous ribbons were studied using the sample holder based on a commercial SMA connector. On the basis of the measurements of the reflection coefficient S11, the total impedance including its real and imaginary components was determined to be in the frequency range of 0.5 to 12.5 GHz. In order to confirm the validity of the proposed technique, FMR was also measured by the certified cavity perturbation technique using a commercial Bruker spectrometer operating at X-band frequency of 9.39 GHz. As part of the characterization of the ribbons used for microwave measurements, comparative analysis was performed of X-ray diffraction, optical microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, inductive magnetic hysteresis loops, vibrating sample magnetometry, magneto-optical Kerr effect (including magnetic domains) and magnetoimpedance data for of all samples.  相似文献

Submicrometric magnetic amorphous wires are good candidates for future development of miniaturized sensors and magnetic logic applications. Here we report the results of an in-depth investigation of magnetization switching in rapidly solidified nearly zero magnetostrictive (Co0.94Fe0.06)72.5Si12.5B15 amorphous samples with diameters of the actual magnetic wires between 300 and 450 nm. All samples were found to be magnetically bistable, displaying characteristic rectangular hysteresis loops. This shows that magnetization reversal occurs through the depinning and subsequent propagation of a magnetic domain wall, whose velocity depends on the applied field and on the sample dimensions. The results of this study reveal stochastic nonlinear dependencies of both the magnetic switching field and the domain wall velocity on the sample diameter. The analysis of the potential causes, which include nonlinear residual stresses, fluctuations in wire dimensions (metal and glass), and competing magnetic anisotropies of different origins, show that a combination of all three factors could lead to the observed stochastic behavior. Calculated values of the switching field, which consider only changes in the wire dimensions, indicate that such influence alone cannot account for the strong nonlinearities. The results are important for the applications of such ultrathin cylindrical magnetic amorphous wires.  相似文献
