Sir,—On page 295, under Patients and Methods, in the sentence"After a fast of at least 8 h, the subjects rested quietly inthe supine position and studies were performed according toour standard technique (Brock-Utne, et al., 1976)", the referenceshould be Brock-Utne et al. (1977). The reason is that for practicaland technical purposes we changed our multilumen polyvinyl tubeto three portex polythylene, No.54 plastic tubes, assembledtogether at the distal end. Otherwise the methodology is identicalto 1976. The only study in which we used the polyvinyl tubewas in the paper of 1796.
