Objective Studying the difference of the uhrastructures of the internal elastic laminae (IEL)of the eommonal carotid artery among young,adult and aged rats in order to set up a efficient preventional and therapeutical strategies to the cerebrovascular disease(common diseases of the cerebral vessels)among aged people.Methods Twenty-four male Wistar rats,aged from 3 months to 3 yeam were used for this study.The IEL in the bifurcation of the right common caotide artery was isolated and digested with hot alkali.The luminal surface of each IEL was scanned by the scanning electric microscope.The number and the area of each fenestration in the IEL were measured and compared among three different age groups.Results The number of the fenestrations was the most in the adult(964.00±4.13),which was significantly more than that in the young(710.00±1.22)or in the aged group(624.00±2.54,P<0.01).The difference of the number of the fenestrations was not significant between aged and young rats(P>0.05).The number of the large fenestrations was remarkable increase with age increasing and the difference between any two groups was all significant[adult(52.40±2.79),young(13.00±1.10),aged(105.20±8.78),P<0.01].The mean percantage area of the fenestrations was also remarkably increasing with age[adult(23.58±2.12),young(15.52±1.70),aged(39.86±3.51),P<0.01].This value was the highest in aged rats which were significantly more than that in the aduh or in the young rats and the difference between adult and young groups was not significant.Conclusions The age-related decrease in elasticity and in the ablitity of preventing penetration of the macromolecules in the IEL maybe a crucial reason for higher incidents of atheroscelerosis and aneunynoma in the bifurcations in the common carotid artery in aged people.  相似文献

Objective To describe the feature of different age patients with A-H1N1.Methods Cross-sectional study was performed in 95 patients who were confirmed to be infected with A-H1N1 from May,2009 to July,2009,in according to their age.Results The average age of patients with A-H1N1 infection was 23.44±14.73.Accumulative prevalence in children and young adult reached 74.7% of total patients.There was a trend that the subclinical infection rate raised gradually from 0-15 years group to over 45 years group.The percent of lymphocyte in 0-15 years group was significantly higher than other age groups,P=0.039.The average time of virus shedding were 6.5±2.10 days (from 2 days to 12 days),and there were no significant difference in diverse age groups,P=0.272.13 out of 95(13.7%)patients presented complications related with A-H1N1 infection,and 4 of 6 patients complicated with pneumonia were in the 0-15 years group.Conclusion The distribution of age in A-H1N1 infection is markedly different from seasonal influenza,with more cases in school children and young adults and fewer cases in older adults. Flu-like symptoms in children were apparent and pneumonia was the major complication in children.  相似文献

Biopsies of bronchial mucous membrane taken from 4 children with Kartagener's syndrome and 10 children with chronic pneumonia were examined electron microscopically. Structural changes in cilia and apical parts of cells are detected in all patients with Kartagener's syndrome. Cilial changes provoked by chronic inflammatory process are shown. The importance of ultrastructural investigations of bronchial mucous membrane cilia in the understanding of pathogenesis of chronic lung conditions in children is underlined.  相似文献

This study was aimed at assessing the consequences of the influence of exogenous androgens on the epididymal sperm of fathers for their progeny. A single injection of testosterone or dihydrotestosterone to adult rats caused a transient increase of the level of the corresponding androgen, later leading to augmentation of the androgen-dependent organs and loss of thymus weight. The present paper contains data on the morphological modifications present in chicks which, after treatment with testosterone lasting 10 days (from the seventh to the seventeenth days after hatching), were killed on the 30th, 35th, 40th, 50th and 70th day of life; this interval of time might theoretically have allowed a gradual re-establishment of the bursal architecture. Examination of the bursae of Fabricus of the animals treated showed greatly varying pictures. The 2 main types of behaviour were the following: the histological pattern of certain bursae had been completely restored to normal. Others did not act in the same way but wide areas of their plicae proved to be devoid of lymphoid tissue and well-formed lymphoid follicles were observed only in certain places. These 2 kinds of behaviour, and particularly what we observed in the second case, might suggest that, since the lymphoid follicle-associated epithelial cells are the last to disappear after treatment with testosterone propionate and the follicles are restored only where these cells remain, the lymphoid follicle-associated epithelial cells may be considered to be responsible for the re-establishment of the bursal follicle.  相似文献
