A 16-year-old woman with congenitally missing permanent mandibular second premolars and central incisors presented for treatment. The prosthodontic treatment consisted of placing 2 internal tri-lobed narrow platform implants in the mandibular second premolar spaces, along with zirconium abutments and all-ceramic crowns. A 4-unit zirconium fixed partial denture was fabricated to restore the missing mandibular central incisors.  相似文献

A 57-year-old man with missing permanent maxillary right first and second premolars presented for treatment. Two axially misaligned implants had been previously placed in the edentulous area and had successfully integrated, resulting in significant mechanical and esthetic restorative challenges. The prosthodontic treatment included placing 2 custom all-ceramic implant abutments and all-ceramic crowns. This treatment resulted in functional and esthetic restorations despite axial malposition of the implants.  相似文献

Class I and Class II amalgam restorations were placed in the permanent teeth of 66 patients, each of whom received a minimum of three restorations. At least one of these restorations was carved-only, at least one was immediately finished (using a prophylaxis paste on rubber cups at low speed, 8 or 10 min after trituration), and at least one restoration was polished (using finishing burs and polishing points, more than 24 h after placement). The number of restorations available for assessment of marginal fracture using the 11-unit photographic scale developed by Mahler was 253 at baseline, 249 at 1-year and 2-year recalls and 228 at the 3-year recall. Although polished restorations exhibited greater initial (baseline) marginal fracture, at 1-year, 2-year and 3-year recalls the restorations were found to exhibit a similar amount of marginal fracture regardless of the finishing technique. The amount of perceived marginal fracture increased steadily after 1 year. The immediate finishing of amalgam restorations showed no long-term benefit over the other techniques and has little to commend it. The clinical finishing of amalgam restorations is discussed in the light of this and other research.  相似文献

Modern all-ceramic systems offer a highly esthetic, biocompatible, and functional alternative to traditional restorative materials. Such systems allow for a wide range of indications, from inlays to multiple-unit fixed partial dentures, and are increasingly used in posterior regions of the mouth. Many of these systems have been introduced to the market only recently. However, new materials and techniques should be followed up and their clinical performance proven for at least 5 years before they become routine modalities of treatment. This article reviews the current literature and scientific data on the long-term success of all-ceramic restorations in the posterior region and compares and discusses alternative treatment options.  相似文献

A male patient presented for maxillary and mandibular complete-arch prostheses. A total of eight all-ceramic restorations, eight metal-ceramic crowns, and four metal-ceramic fixed partial dentures were placed. The restorations were examined for marginal integrity, anatomic form, surface, and color for a period of 12 months. All restorations were in function at the end of the evaluation period. There was no adverse event. No substantial difference between the all-ceramic onlays and the metal-ceramic crowns was apparent. The all-ceramic restorations exhibited the least plaque growth. Bleeding on probing was minimal at both restoration types. The marginal integrity of the all-ceramic restorations was considered to be nearly as precise as that of the metal-ceramic crowns.  相似文献

Residual excess cement (REC) is a common complication of cement-retained prostheses and has been linked to periimplant disease. Removal of the cement residue may result in resolution of the issue if addressed early in the disease process. However, this is dependent upon the ability to locate and adequately remove the foreign material. This series of patient scenarios describes the ability to detect REC by using dental radiography. Characteristics related to cements and flow patterns specific to implants are addressed.  相似文献

A 23-year-old female with aggressive periodontitis was treated using dental implants and LAVA system. The severely compromised teeth were extracted irrespective of initial conservative periodontal treatment. An implant-supported overdenture with 4 implants was fabricated for the maxilla and all-ceramic restorations for the mandible. Esthetic and functional goals were achieved with team approach involving periodontists and prosthodontists. This case report describes a treatment procedure for a generalized aggressive periodontitis patient with severe bone resorption.  相似文献

This article presents a patient with amelogenesis imperfecta rehabilitated with all-ceramic crowns following surgical and orthodontic intervention. 目的::通过Meta分析系统评价全瓷修复与烤瓷修复的临床效果。方法:计算机检索PubMed、Cochrane Library、EMbase、SinoMed、中国知网和万方、维普数据库,按标准纳入比较全瓷与烤瓷修复临床效果的随机对照研究,进行资料提取及偏倚评价,采用RevMan 5.3软件进行Meta 分析。结果:最终纳入15篇文献,其中全瓷修复体768例,烤瓷修复体1386例。 Meta分析结果显示:相比于烤瓷修复,全瓷修复能显著降低牙龈炎症(RR=0.30,95%CI=0.10-0.90,P=0.03)的发生风险。还能减少基牙继发龋、改善修复体的龈缘着色及边缘适合性,但无统计学差异。二者颜色匹配及修复体崩瓷状况相当。全瓷修复易导致牙髓炎症及牙髓失活,且固定桥修复时全瓷桥支架断裂(RR=6.24,95%CI=1.20-32.41,P=0.03)的危险性显著增高。结论:现有的有限证据表明,全瓷修复的临床效果要优于烤瓷修复,在临床应用中占有一定优势,但全瓷桥的强度有待提高。  相似文献

Class II restorations of five light-cured posterior composite materials (Occlusion, P 30, Fulfil, Profile and Heliomolar) were followed for three years, and restorations of another material (Distalite) were followed for two years. Twenty-four dentists from The Public Dental Health Service in the county of Bohusl?n placed 242 Class II restorations in 213 patients. The restorations were evaluated after three years using the USPHS criteria. Stone casts were used to categorize quantitatively the amount of occlusal wear according to the Leinfelder method. No differences could be found between the different materials regarding clinical properties. The failure rate (USPHS ratings Charlie) was low, 6.5 per cent. The average occlusal wear after three years for most of the materials was about 100 micrometers. Heliomolar showed a better resistance to wear compared with the other materials.  相似文献

This clinical report describes the prosthodontic treatment of a partially edentulous patient who had a surgical closure of bilateral cleft of the lips, alveolar processes, and palate. The prosthodontic treatment included the fabrication of a "telescopic" fixed partial denture supported by reinforced all-ceramic primary copings. The use of all-ceramic primary copings, rather than gold copings, offers an alternative fixed partial denture and improves the esthetic result in certain clinical situations.  相似文献

Observations were made of 537 composite resin restorations which had been in place in anterior permanent teeth for periods of up to 5 years. The restorations were inserted by various operators in patients aged from 11 to more than 61 years. Assessments were made of the replacements of the restorations and of a number of clinical characteristics. Several characteristics were related to the oral health of the patients.  相似文献

Generically milled zirconia copings for all-ceramic crowns may not provide optimal thickness and form for the coping or the porcelain veneer. This article describes the customization of milled zirconia copings to provide even and controlled porcelain thickness with the aim of decreasing cohesive porcelain fracture and other failures. A full-contour waxing and cut back in conjunction with a dual-scan technique was used to ensure adequate coping thickness, adequate, even porcelain thickness, and butt joints at the porcelain-to-coping junctions.  相似文献
