This article presents an ecological approach based on climate neutrality to the synthesis of open-cell polyurethane foams with modified used cooking rapeseed oils. Water was used as a chemical blowing agent in the amount of 20–28 wt.% in relation to the weight of the bio-polyol. The influence of water on the physical and mechanical properties of the synthesized foams was investigated. The resultant porous materials were tested for the content of closed cells, cell structure, apparent density, thermal conductivity, compressive strength, and dimensional stability. It was found that the apparent density decreased in the range of 11–13 kg/m3 when the amount of the foaming agent was increased. In the next step, a foam with a water content of 22% was selected as having the most favorable physico–mechanical properties among all the foams with various water contents. The isocyanate index of the selected foam was then changed from 0.6 to 1.1 and it was observed that the compressive strength increased by an average of 10 kPa. The thermal conductivity coefficients of the final materials with different water contents and isocyanate indices were comparable and in the range of 40–43 mW/m·K.  相似文献

The application of vacuum materials with low secondary electron yield (SEY) is one of the effective methods to mitigate the electron cloud (EC). In this study, the Ti-Hf-V-Zr non-evaporable getter (NEG) film was deposited on open-cell copper foams with different pore sizes for the suppression of electron multipacting effects. Besides, the influence of the film thickness on the secondary electron emission (SEE) characteristics of Ti-Hf-V-Zr NEG film-coated open-cell copper foam substrates was investigated for the first time. The results highlighted that all uncoated and NEG-coated foamed porous copper substrates achieved a low SEY (<1.2), which reduced at least 40% compared to the traditional copper plates, and the foamed porous coppers with 1.34-μm-thick NEG coating had the lowest SEY. Moreover, the surface chemistry and the morphological and structural properties of foamed porous coppers of different pore sizes with and without Ti-Hf-V-Zr NEG films were systematically analyzed.  相似文献

Polyisocyanurate foam (PIF) has been adopted as a liquefied natural gas (LNG) insulating material owing to its various mechanical merits such as high structural stability and mechanical strength, and excellent insulating ability. In an attempt to increase the mechanical strength of PIF, chopped-glass-fiber-reinforced polyisocyanurate foam (CGR-PIF) was synthesized by adding chopped glass fibers to polyol and isocyanate, which are the raw materials used in the polymerization process for producing PIF. The main objective is to closely observe the compression material characteristics of PIF and CGR-PIF in terms of the cryogenic temperature. Therefore, compressive tests were conducted at cryogenic temperature including low temperatures, and microscopic images were obtained to analyze the cell size and distribution that affects the mechanical and thermal properties of the foam. Furthermore, recovery ratio and weight loss which are important factors of brittle fracture were evaluated, and the applicability of the foams to a cryogenic environment was evaluated. Finally, thermal conductivity, an important parameter of insulation, was evaluated. The obtained results confirm that the compressive strength of CGR-PIF significantly increases at cryogenic temperatures; moreover, a relatively higher thermal conductivity was observed in the case of CGR-PIF as compared to that of PIF owing to the chopped glass fibers.  相似文献

The main goal of this work was to evaluate the thermal insulation and sound absorption properties of open-cell rigid polyurethane foams synthesized with different contents of cooking oil-based polyol. The content of the applied bio-polyol as well as flame retardant (triethyl phosphate) in the foam formulation had a significant influence on the cellular structures of the materials. The open-cell polyurethane foams were characterized by apparent densities in the range 16–30 kg/m3. The sound absorption coefficients of the polyurethanes with various contents of bio-polyol were determined using the standing wave method (Kundt’s tube) in the frequency range of 100–6300 Hz. The effect of the content of the bio-polyol and flame retardant on the coefficient of thermal conductivity (at average temperatures of 0, 10 and 20 °C) as well as the compressive strength (at 20 and −10 °C) was analyzed. Different trends were observed in terms of the thermal insulation properties and sound absorption ability of the open-cell polyurethanes due to the addition of bio-polyol. In conclusion, it is necessary to use systems containing both petrochemical and bio-based raw materials.  相似文献

In order to create greener polyurethane (PUR) foams, modified used cooking oils (UCO) were applied as starting resources for the synthesis of bio-polyols. The bio-polyols were produced using transesterification of UCO with diethylene glycol (UCO_DEG) and triethanolamine (UCO_TEA). Next, open-cell PUR foams were synthesized by replacing 20, 40, 60, 80 and 100% of the petrochemical polyol with the bio-polyol UCO_DEG or UCO_TEA. It was observed that an increasing bio-polyol content (up to 60%) led to an increase of the closed cell content. However, a further increase in the bio-polyol content up to 100% resulted in foam cell opening. The bio-foams obtained in the experiment had an apparent density of 13–18 kg/m3. The coefficient of thermal conductivity was determined at three different average temperatures: 10, 0 and −10 °C. The PUR bio-foams modified with bio-polyol UCO_TEA had lower values of thermal conductivity, regardless of the average temperature (35.99–39.57 mW/m·K) than the foams modified with bio-polyol UCO_DEG (36.95–43.78 mW/m·K). The compressive strength of most of the bio-foams was characterized by a higher value than the compressive strength of the reference material (without bio-polyol). Finally, it was observed that the bio-materials exhibited dimensional stability at 70 °C.  相似文献

We investigated the effect of the type and amount of expandable graphite (EG) and blackcurrant pomace (BCP) on the flammability, thermal stability, mechanical properties, physical, and chemical structure of viscoelastic polyurethane foams (VEF). For this purpose, the polyurethane foams containing EG, BCP, and EG with BCP were obtained. The content of EG varied in the range of 3–15 per hundred polyols (php), while the BCP content was 30 php. Based on the obtained results, it was found that the additional introduction of BCPs into EG-containing composites allows for an additive effect in improving the functional properties of viscoelastic polyurethane foams. As a result, the composite containing 30 php of BCP and 15 php of EG with the largest particle size and expanded volume shows the largest change in the studied parameters (hardness (H) = 2.65 kPa (+16.2%), limiting oxygen index (LOI) = 26% (+44.4%), and peak heat release rate (pHRR) = 15.5 kW/m2 (−87.4%)). In addition, this composite was characterized by the highest char yield (m600 = 17.9% (+44.1%)). In turn, the change in mechanical properties is related to a change in the physical and chemical structure of the foams as indicated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis.  相似文献

The development of polymer materials causes their huge expansion into various areas of everyday life, as well as plant and animal production. Their chemical resistance, good physical properties, and ease of processing result in an increasing use of this group of materials. Outdoor plant production both in open plantations and greenhouses requires various types of materials supporting the vegetation process as well as protecting against pests and weeds. A large group here are various types of materials used for covers of field crops, the main role of which is to prevent uncontrolled and excessive growth of weeds and thus reduce the use of herbicides as plant protection products. Cover films also have other important functions, such as reducing direct water evaporation, better moisture retention around the root system, increasing soil temperature (faster vegetation), etc. However, as always, the problem of introducing new material into agriculture production and the difficulty of its disposal arises. In recent times, farmers’ interest in various forms of mulch to protect crops and increase yields has grown significantly. In the publication, the authors attempted to analyze selected commercial properties, but also mulch produced on a laboratory scale, based on biodegradable and petroleum-derived materials.  相似文献

Thermal conductive gap filler materials are used as thermal interface materials (TIMs) in electronic devices due their numerous advantages, such as higher thermal conductivity, ease of use, and conformity. Silicone is a class of synthetic materials based on a polymeric siloxane backbone which is widely used in thermal gap filler materials. In electronic packages, silicone-based thermal gap filler materials are widely used in industries, whereas silicone-free thermal gap filler materials are emerging as new alternatives for numerous electronics applications. Certainly, characterization of these TIMs is of immense importance since it plays a critical role in heat dissipation and long-term reliability of the electronic packages. Insubstantial studies on the effects of various chemical compounds on the properties of silicone-based and silicone-free TIMs has led to this study, which focuses on the effect of thermal aging on the mechanical, thermal, and dielectric properties of silicone-based and silicone-free TIMs and the chemical compounds that cause the changes in properties of these materials. Characterization techniques such as dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), thermomechanical analysis (TMA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and broadband dielectric spectroscopy (BbDS) are used to study the mechanical, thermal, and dielectric characteristics of these TIMs, which will guide towards a better understanding of the applicability and reliability of these TIMs. The experiments demonstrate that upon thermal aging at 125 °C, the silicone-free TIM becomes hard, while silicone-based TIM remains viscoelastic, which indicates its wide applicability to higher temperature applications for a long time. Though silicone-based TIM displays better mechanical and thermal properties at elevated temperatures, dielectric properties indicate low conductivity for silicone-free TIM, which makes it a better candidate for silicone-sensitive applications where higher electric insulation is desired.  相似文献

The present paper illustrates a comparison of open-cell aluminum foams. The foams were fabricated by two different methods: spark plasma sintering and replication on a polyurethane template. The influence of pressure, temperature, and diameter of space holding material on foam obtained by the spark plasma sintering method was investigated. Additionally, the aluminum powder content in slurry and atmosphere during thermal processing of foam prepared by the replication technique were studied. The morphology and structure of obtained samples were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction analysis. Supplementarily, mechanical properties and electrical conductivity were studied. The porosity of obtained samples was 83% for the SPS sample and 85% for the replication sample. The results of the studies carried out gave us an understanding that the SPS method is more promising for using the obtained foams as cathode current collectors in lithium-ion batteries due to excessive aluminum oxidation during sintering in the furnace.  相似文献

With the development of intelligent communications and stealth technology in the military field, electromagnetic wave pollution cannot be ignored, and absorbing materials have entered people’s field of vision and gradually become a research hotspot. The ideal absorbing material should have the characteristics of “strong, wide, thin, and light”, but a single absorbing material often cannot meet the above conditions. At present, absorbing metal powder combined with two-dimensional carbon nanomaterials (such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, etc.) has became a trend. This article focus on a three-layer composite of Fe3O4, Carbon nanotubes@ Fe3O4, Carbon nanotubes@Graphene nano-platelets@ Fe3O4, which was synthesized by solvothermal method. The results show that the electromagnetic wave absorption performance of the three-layer foam at a thickness of 3.0 mm is more excellent. The minimum of RL can reach −67.0 dB, and the effective bandwidth is above 5.0 GHz. All this is due to the synergy of dielectric and magnetic loss between Fe3O4, CNTs, and GN, the increase of interface polarization and the path of electromagnetic wave reflection and scattering by three-layer foam.  相似文献

Iron hollow sphere filled aluminum matrix syntactic foams (AMSFs) were produced by low pressure, inert gas assisted infiltration. The microstructure of the produced AMSFs was investigated by light and electron microscopy, extended by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and electron back-scattered diffraction. The investigations revealed almost perfect infiltration and a slight gradient in the grain size of the matrix. A very thin interface layer that ensures good bonding between the hollow spheres and the matrix was also observed. Compression tests were performed on cylindrical specimens to explore the characteristic mechanical properties of the AMSFs. Compared to other (conventional) metallic foams, the investigated AMSFs proved to have outstanding mechanical properties (yield strength, plateau strength, etc.) and energy absorbing capability.  相似文献

The damage process and failure mechanisms were analyzed by a series of quasi-static compressive experiments of seven materials including pure epoxy (EP), three different PPI (pores per linear inch) foam nickel-iron, and three different PPI foam nickel/iron-epoxy interpenetrating phase composites (IPC). Plotting the stress–strain curves of different materials, their change rules are discussed, then the effective elastic modulus and yield limit of the materials are provided, and the energy absorption properties of different materials are analyzed by the stress–strain curves. It was found that the effective elastic modulus and specific stiffness of the three IPC materials were higher than pure foam nickel-iron. The brittleness of epoxy can be obviously changed by selecting a suitable PPI foam nickel-iron composited with it. The unit volume energy absorption rate of foam nickel/iron-epoxy was significantly higher than pure epoxy and pure foam nickel-iron. It was also found that the energy absorption rate decreased with the increase in PPI. The stress relaxation rate decreased first and then increased with the increase in PPI. The creep behavior of the three composites was obvious in the creep elastic stage, and the creep rate increased with the increase in PPI. The creep rate decreased with the increase in PPI in the creep transition stage.  相似文献

With the increasing demand for high temperature-resistant heat insulation materials for hypersonic vehicles, carbon foam has been studied extensively, and its mechanical and thermal properties have been fully researched, but the oxidation behavior of carbon foams during service and the change in their properties after oxidation are rarely studied. This paper studied the relationship between both mechanical and thermal properties and oxidation degree of two kinds of foams, coal-based carbon foam and antioxidant coal-based carbon foam with chemical vapor deposition of SiC particles. The variation trend for the two kinds of foam was the same. When the oxidation degree was less than 15%, the compression modulus and strength weakened with the increase in weight loss rate, but the thermal conductivity decreased with the increase in weight loss rate, which was a favorable influence for the thermal protection system. The mechanical and thermal properties had a linear relationship with the weight loss rate, but the slope was different between 0% to 10% and 10% to 15%. The microscopic mechanism of these changes was also analyzed.  相似文献

Six matrices based on alkali-activated aluminosilicate with different amounts of potassium phosphate were prepared for the production of six-layer composite plates. The addition of potassium phosphate in the matrix was 2 wt%, 4 wt%, 6 wt%, 8 wt% and 10 wt% of its total weight. The matrix without the potassium phosphate was also prepared. The aim of this study was to determine whether this addition has an effect on the tensile strength or Young’s modulus of composites at temperatures up to 800 °C. Changes in the thickness and weight of the samples after this temperature were also monitored. Carbon plain weave fabric was chosen for the preparation of the composites. The results show that under normal conditions, the addition of potassium phosphate has no significant effect on the mechanical properties; the highest measured tensile strengths were around 350 MPa. However, at temperatures of 600 °C and 800 °C the addition of potassium phosphate had a positive effect, with the tensile strength of the composites being up to 300% higher than the composites without the addition. The highest measured values of composites after one hour at 600 °C were higher than 100 MPa and after 1 h at 800 °C higher than 85 MPa.  相似文献

The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of surface treatment on the morphology and thermo-mechanical properties of bamboo fibers. The fibers are subjected to an alkali treatment using 4 wt % sodium hydroxide (NaOH) for 1 h. Mechanical measurements show that the present concentration has an insignificant effect on the fiber tensile strength. In addition, systematic experimental results characterizing the morphological aspects and thermal properties of the bamboo fibers are analyzed by scanning electron microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, and differential scanning calorimetry. It is found that an alkali treatment may increase the effective surface area, which is in turn available for superior bonding with the matrix. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy analysis reveals that the alkali treatment leads to a gradual removal of binding materials, such as hemicellulose and lignin from the bamboo fiber. A comparison of the curve of thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry for the treated and untreated samples is presented to demonstrate that the presence of treatment contributes to a better thermal stability for bamboo fibers.  相似文献

This work presents carbon fabric reinforced aluminosilicate matrix composites with content of boric acid, where boron replaces aluminum ions in the matrix and can increase the mechanical properties of composites. Five different amounts of boric acid were added to the alkaline activator for preparing six types (including alkaline activator without boric acid) of composites by the prepreg method. The influence of boric acid content in the matrix on the tensile strength, Young’s modulus and interlaminar strength of composites was studied. Attention was also paid to the influence of boron content on the behavior of the matrix and on the internal structure of composites, which was monitored using a scanning electron microscope. The advantage of the aluminosilicate matrix is its resistance to high temperatures; therefore, tests were also performed on samples affected by temperatures of 400–800 °C. The interlaminar strength obtained by short-beam test were measured on samples exposed to 500 °C either hot (i.e. measured at 500 °C) or cooled down to room temperature. The results showed that the addition of boron to the aluminosilicate matrix of the prepared composites did not have any significant effect on their mechanical properties. The presence of boron affected the brittleness and swelling of the matrix and the differences in mechanical properties were evident in samples exposed to temperatures above 500 °C. All six prepared composites showed tensile strength higher than 320 MPa at laboratory temperature. The boron-free composite had the highest strength 385 MPa. All samples showed a tensile strength higher than 230 MPa at elevated temperatures up to 500 °C.  相似文献

The CO2 emissions from the cement industry and the production of waste wood chips are increasing with the rapid growth of the construction industry. In order to develop a green environmental protection building material with low thermal conductivity and up to standard mechanical properties, in this study, pine waste wood chips were mixed into cement-based materials as fine aggregate, and three different kinds of cementitious binders were used, including sulfur aluminate cement (SAC), ordinary Portland cement (OPC), and granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS), to prepare a recycled light cementitious composite material. The mechanical, thermal conductivity, shrinkage, water absorption, and pore structure of a wood chip light cementitious composite material were studied by changing the Ch/B (the mass ratio of wood chip to binder). The results showed that the strength, dry density, and thermal conductivity of the specimens decreased significantly with the increase in the Ch/B, while the shrinkage, water absorption, and pore size increased with the increase in the Ch/B. By comparing three different kinds of cementitious binders, the dry density of the material prepared with OPC was 942 kg/m3, the compressive strength of the material prepared with SAC was 13.5 MPa, and the thermal conductivity of the material prepared with slag was the lowest at 0.15 W/m/K. From the perspective of low-cost and low-carbon emissions, it was determined that the best way to prepare a light cementitious composite with waste wood chips is to use granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS) as the cementitious binder.  相似文献

The paper presents the results of the elastoplastic properties of Ti/Cu bimetallic rods. They were obtained by extrusion and composed of a copper core with a covered titanium layer. Experiments were carried out at room temperature on virgin samples, and samples were subjected to prior annealing in the temperature range of 600–900 °C for 30, 60, and 90 min. The modern technique of impulse excitation of vibration was used to analyze the elastic properties of bimetal, obtaining the temperature and time characteristics of Young’s modulus, internal friction, and resonance frequency variability. Subsequently, the samples were stretched to breakage, obtaining information on the values of limit stresses, their deformability, and the energy demand for uniform elastic–plastic deformation in terms of the effect of temperature and annealing time. The influence of thermal processes on the strengthening of the Ti/Cu bimetal was also examined, and microscopic observations and qualitative analysis of the diffusion zone at the interface of the phases were carried out. The research was to answer the question of how a short-term temperature increase in 600–900 °C affects the physical properties of Ti/Cu bimetallic rods. These rods were used as a high-density electric current carrier in metallurgical processes in environments of aggressive chemical compounds. Studies have shown that short-term annealing at elevated temperatures causes a drastic reduction in the strength of the Ti/Cu bimetal, leading to structural changes within the components, and the diffusion zone with the release of intermetallic compounds, leading to structural degradation. Heating at 900 °C for 60 and 90 min caused accelerated interface degradation and destruction of the Ti/Cu bimetal by delamination.  相似文献

Based on electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD), hollow structures of Ni foam struts fabricated by electroplating on a chemically removable template were observed. Three-dimensional (3D) pore structures of Ni foams were also obtained using X-ray computed tomography (CT), and microstructural features such as porosity, pore size and strut thickness were statistically quantified. Evolution of microstructure and mechanical properties during ex situ compression of open-cell Ni-foams was investigated based on X-ray CT, and experimental results were compared with predictions by the finite element method (FEM). 3D microstructures obtained by X-ray CT revealed that the stress drop started with the buckling of struts at the center of the Ni-foams. The flow stress increased after the buckling of the struts spreads to most of the regions. For effective simulation of the compressive deformation and determination of the microstructural evolution, small domains of interest were selected from the entire set of observed 3D microstructures based on X-ray CT, and struts of Ni foams with a hollow structure were simplified with relevant thin-solid struts. Numerical 3D modeling comprehensively disclosed that compression caused the transverse buckling of the struts, with the bending and buckling of struts thus reducing the stress. Thickness variation of the struts causes a change in the porosity of Ni-foams without a change in pore shape or connectivity. The overall range of strut thickness was from 59 to 133 μm, and the range of porosity values was from 80% to 93.7%. A stress drop was predicted with a decrease in the strut thickness or an increase in the porosity, as measured experimentally. It was also found that the stress drop contributed to an increase in the calculated energy absorption efficiency.  相似文献

One of the solutions for overheating the interior in the summer without increasing energy consumption is the integration of phase change material (PCM) into interior plasters. However, adding PCM to plasters deteriorates their properties and thus their usability. The aim of this paper is to determine how the microencapsulated PCM affects the mechanical, thermal, and fire properties of plasters and how much PCM can be added to the plaster. Two sets of samples were prepared: in set S, part of the aggregate was replaced by PCM; and in set R, only PCM was added. The bulk density, flexural strength, compressive strength, tensile strength perpendicular to the surface, thermal conductivity coefficient, specific heat capacity, melting, and solidification temperatures and enthalpy were measured. A single-flame source fire test and a gross heat of combustion fire test were performed to determine the reaction to the fire class. The results show that with an increasing proportion of PCM, the strength of the samples of set R decreased more significantly than it did with the samples of set S. It was found that only up to about 10% PCM could be added to set R, while up to 30% PCM could be added to set S.  相似文献
