Dyslipidemia, including hypercholesterolemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterinemia,is a key risk factor to atherosclerosis. The detrimental effect of elevated low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol and/or decreased HDL cholesterol on cardiovascular disease risk had been well established from previous studies.1 Recently, emerging evidences suggest that dyslipidemia may also be an important contributor to morbidity and mortality of chronic kidney disease (CKD),which has received more and more attention as the prevalence of CKD increases.
In our study published in this issue,2 data were collected among 4779 middle-aged and elderly Chinese population. We found that participants with hypercholesterolemia had greater prevalence of albuminuria and reduced estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR). 相似文献

Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR-γ),which is mainly involved in adipocyte differentiation, has been suggested to play an important role in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance and atherosclerosis. We investigated the frequencies of two common tagging polymorphisms of the PPAR-γ gene and two of PPAR-α with minor allele frequency (MAF)≥ 0.05 in the Chinese Han population and analyzed the correlation between the different genotypes and the risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). TaqMan assay... 相似文献

Background: The heavy metals cadmium (Cd) and mercury (Hg) are known to be widespread environmental contaminants and high occupational exposure adversely affects the risk of chronic kidney disease (CKD). However, evidence from epidemiological studies linking low Cd and Hg exposure (or non-industrial) to the risk of progression to CKD are conflicting. This study aimed to explore the association of low Cd and Hg exposure with the risk of CKD in Chinese adults aged ≥80 years. Methods: The participan... 相似文献

Background: Changes in thyroid hormone levels are commonly recognized characters among the elderly, which were reported to potentially influence incident frailty. Therefore, we examined the cross-sectional associations of thyroid hormones (THs) with frailty as well as the five components characterizing frailty (fatigue, resistance, ambulation, number of illnesses, and loss of weight) among the oldest-old.Methods: Four hundred and eighty-seven community-dwelling oldest-old from a local community ... 相似文献

Environmental exposure to perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate in relation to chronic kidney disease in the general US population,NHANES 2005-2016题录
Background: Few studies have explored the impact of perchlorate, nitrate, and thiocyanate (PNT) on kidney function. This study aimed to evaluate the association of urinary levels of PNT with renal function as well as the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) among the general population in the United States. Methods: This analysis included data from 13,373 adults (≥20 years) from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2005 to 2016. We used multivariable linear and logistic regr... 相似文献
