Some people in different parts of Iran use burned mantles as a wound healing medicine. To perform surface area measurement, twenty rats were divided randomly into two groups of 10 animals each. The 1st group received topical burned radioactive lantern mantle powder at 1st-3rd day after making excision wounds. The 2nd group received non-radioactive lantern mantle powder. For histological study, 36 male rats randomly divided into two groups of 18 animals each. Full thickness excision wound (314±31.4 mm2) was made on the dorsal neck in all animals after inducing general anesthesia. For the first 3 days, cases received topical application of the radioactive lantern mantle powder. Finally, to measure the tensile strength, an incision was made on the dorsal neck of the rats. Surface area measurement of the wounds showed a progressive surface reduction in both groups. Histological study showed a significant statistically difference between cases and controls with respect to fibrinoid necrosis and neutrophilic exudate at the days 3 and 14. Considering the existence of granulation tissue, a significant difference was observed between case and control groups at days 3 and 7. Tensile strength study showed no significant difference between the cases and controls until 30 days after excision.  相似文献

Current investigation was to determine whether hyperbaric oxygen had an effect on the febrile responses to systemic administration of lipopolysaccharide. An intravenous dose of lipopolysaccharide (2 μg/kg) caused an increase in core temperature accompanied by both plasma tumor necrosis factor- and hypothalamic prostaglandin E2 overproduction in rabbits. Administering hyperbaric oxygen (100% at 253 kPa) but not normobaric oxygen (100% at 101 kPa), once a day for consecutive 7 days prior to or 1 h after injecting lipopolysaccharide significantly reduced the lipopolysaccharide-induced elevation of both core temperature and circulating tumor necrosis factor-alpha. As compared to those of the simultaneous administration of normobaric air and lipopolysaccharide, administering hyperbaric oxygen or air plus lipopolysaccharide simultaneously had lesser febrile effects in terms of core temperature elevation, tumor necrosis factor-alpha overproduction and hypothalamic prostaglandin E2 accumulation. However, the febrile responses produced by simultaneous application of normobaric oxygen plus lipopolysaccharide were not significantly different from those of normobaric air plus lipopolysaccharide. The results indicate that hyperbaric oxygen, and to some extent hyperbaric air, may cause prevention and suppression of pyrogenic fever by reducing overproduction of both circulating tumor necrosis factor-alpha and hypothalamic prostaglandin E2.  相似文献

Many experimental studies have been performed and the mechanism of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the frostbitten tissue has not been elucidated. In this study, we evaluated the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on the frostbitten ears of rabbits in an experimental animal model by examining the concentrations of thromboxane A2 (as thromboxane B2-Tx B2) and of prostaglandin I2 (PG I2) (as 6-keto-prostaglandin F1α-PG F1α) in tissues, and by counting the numbers of inflammatory cells (neutrophils and mast cells-MC) Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBO) at 2.5 ATA for 90 minutes twice daily for fourteen days to rabbits, the ears of which were subjected to frostbite, decreased presence of inflammatory cells (mast cells −75%; neutrophils −40%) and increased prostaglandin I2 (PG I2) (as 6-Keto-PGF1α) in the involved skin. Thromboxane A2 (TxA2) (as Tx B2) was unaffected. Our results revealed that an inflammatory process was the underlying cause of frostbite injury and that hyperbaric oxygen therapy was active in pathological situations involving an inflammatory process in frostbite.  相似文献

目的 观察大隐静脉电凝术结合高压氧治疗下肢静脉性溃疡的临床效果.方法 36例下肢静脉性溃疡,随机分为三组,A组(电凝术结合高压氧组)12例,B组(高压氧组)12例,C组(电凝术组)12例.手术方法:行大隐静脉电凝术,交通静脉瓣膜功能不全,采用改良的Linton手术,Ⅲ°以上反流者行戴戒术.结果 愈合时间:A组( 18.00±4.66)d,B组(28.20±6.42)d,C组(31.32±4.88)d.三组差异有统计学意义(F=8.93,P<0.05);A组与B组、C组差异均有统计学意义(q=4.62、7.81,均P<0.01);B组与C组差异有统计学意义(q =3.76,P<0.05).36例中29例获随访,随访时间6~40个月,下肢静脉曲张及溃疡均无复发.结论 大隐静脉电凝术结合高压氧治疗下肢静脉性溃疡,溃疡愈合快,不易复发,是一种新型治疗方法,疗效肯定,值得推广.  相似文献

目的:探讨高压氧治疗突发性耳聋的疗效及治疗时机。方法:对照组采用药物治疗,高压氧治疗组在药物治疗的基础上,分超早期(发病第1~2天)和早期(发病第5~7天)高压氧治疗。结果:高压氧治疗组总有效率为69.8%,对照组有效率为28.6%,两组差异有统计学意义(P〈0.01),超早期高压氧治疗组的有效率为82.2%,疗效明显优于早期高压氧治疗组(有效率为58.82%;P〈0.05)。结论:超早期高压氧辅助药物治疗突发性耳聋疗效明显。  相似文献

Methemoglobinemia usually results from exposure to oxidizing substances such as nitrates or nitrites. Iron within hemoglobin is oxidized from the ferrous (Fe2+) state to the ferric (Fe3+) state, resulting in the inability to transport oxygen and carbon dioxide. Clinically, this condition causes functional cyanosis. As methemoglobin levels increase, patients show evidence of cellular hypoxia in all tissues. Death usually occurs when methemoglobin fractions approach 70% of total hemoglobin. We describe the case of a 35-year-old female patient with severe life-threatening isobutyl nitrite-induced methemoglobinemia of 75% of total hemoglobin. Toluidine-blue was administered as first-line antidotal therapy immediately, followed by hyperbaric oxygenation. The patient recovered uneventfully and could be discharged 3 days later.  相似文献

目的 分析研究联合使用血栓通注射液与高压氧对脑梗死患者的血脂及血液流变学的影响。方法 选择2012年8月-2014年4月杨凌示范区医院收治的脑梗死患者92例为研究对象,随机分为两组。对照组给予高压氧治疗,实验组给予高压氧联合血栓通注射液治疗,观察患者血脂及血液流变学指标的变化。结果 治疗后,实验组患者三酰甘油(TG)、总胆固醇(TC)、低密度脂蛋白胆固醇(LDL-C)、脂蛋白a(LP-a)均显著低于对照组患者,高密度脂蛋白胆固醇(HDL-C)显著高于对照组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。实验组与对照组患者治疗后的载脂蛋白A1(ApoA1)、载脂蛋白B(ApoB)对比差异无统计学意义。治疗后,实验组患者血浆黏度、红细胞压积(Hct)及血沉(ESR)均低于对照组患者,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论 联合使用高压氧与血栓通注射液有助于改善脑梗死患者的血脂和血液流变学,具有积极的临床意义。  相似文献

目的观察0.1%洛度沙胺滴眼液联合0.05 g/L丝裂霉素C对翼状胬肉切除加带蒂结膜瓣移位术后预防胬肉复发的作用.方法对67例(71眼)原发性和复发性翼状胬肉随机分成两组,治疗组36例(38眼),对照组31例(33眼).两组均施行胬肉切除加带蒂结膜瓣移位术.治疗组术后滴用0.1%洛度沙胺滴眼液,每天4次,共3个月,同时滴用0.05 g/L丝裂霉素C,每天2次,共6天,随访11~20个月,平均13个月.结果3例(3眼)失访.治疗组翼状胬肉复发率2.78%,对照组复发率31.25%,P<0.01,治疗组角膜创面愈合延迟.结论翼状胬肉切除加带蒂结膜瓣移位术后滴用0.1%洛度沙胺滴眼液联合0.05 g/L丝裂霉素C能有效地预防翼状胬肉复发.  相似文献

Context: Cotinus coggygria Scop. (Anacardiaceae) leaves that were used as wound healing in traditional Balkan and Anatolian folk medicine, could be potentially effective in treating diabetic wounds.

Objective: This study investigates biochemical and histological effects of ethanol extract of C. coggygria (CCE) on excision wound model in diabetic rats.

Materials and methods: This study was conducted on diabetic Wistar albino rats, which were injected by a single dose (50?mg/kg i.p.) streptozotocin. Afterward an excision wound model was created in all animals; diabetic control rats were applied topically simple ointment and diabetic treatment rats were applied topically 5% (w/w) ointment with CC, once a day during the experimental period. Malondialdehyde, glutathione and hydroxyproline levels in wound tissues were investigated at the end of 3rd, 7th, and 14th days. Histopathological examination was also performed.

Results: Hydroxyproline content was significantly increased in the CCE treated group versus control after the 3rd and 7th days (15.33 versus 11.83; 19.67 versus 15.67?mg/g, p?<?0.05; respectively). A statistically significant elevation in glutathione at the end of 3rd, 7th, and 14th days (5.13 versus 1.58, p?<?0.05; 4.72 versus 1.88, p?<?0.05; 3.83 versus 1.88?μmol/g, p?<?0.05, respectively) and a statistically significant decrease in malondialdehyde level at the end of 7th day (4.49 versus 1.48?nmol/g, p?<?0.05) were determined in the treated group versus control group. These results were also supported by histological analyses.

Discussion and conclusion: These findings indicate that CCE accelerated the cutaneous wound healing process in diabetic wounds, in confirmation of its traditional use.  相似文献

目的:探讨高压氧治疗对脱位年轻恒牙再植后的牙髓和牙周组织恢复的影响。方法:选择78例脱位年轻恒牙外伤性根尖孔尚未形成的患者,复位固定后,随机分为高压氧治疗实验组52颗和对照组52颗,高压氧治疗组患者术后即在加压舱内面罩吸纯氧,然后吸空气再吸纯氧,每日1次,共10d。对照组未进行高压氧治疗,连续观察1~3年。结果:高压氧治疗实验组牙髓坏死率明显低于对照组(P〈0.05)。结论:高压氧治疗对于年轻脱位再植牙齿的存活、牙髓和牙周组织恢复再生都有促进作用。  相似文献

Hyperbaric oxygen interacts with drugs which patients use concurrently with hyperbaric oxygen treatment, which may cause in potentiation or inhibition of both therapeutic and toxic effects. We examined the effect of hyperbaric oxygen therapy on experimental cyclosporine A nephrotoxicity. The study comprised four groups of rats: a control group, a cyclosporine A group (25 mg/kg/day intraperitoneally for four days), a hyperbaric oxygen group (60 min. every day for four days at 2.5 atmospheric pressure), and a cyclosporine A+hyperbaric oxygen group (CsA 25 mg/kg/day intraperitoneally for four days+hyperbaric oxygen for 60 min. every day for four days at 2.5 atmospheric pressure). Hyperbaric oxygen did not alter biochemical parameters. Cyclosporine A increased serum urea and serum creatinine levels and decreased creatinine clearance. In the cyclosporine A+hyperbaric oxygen group serum urea level increased more than in the cyclosporine A group. Cyclosporine A increased tubular epithelial cell apoptosis and necrosis score values. The numbers of apoptotic cells in proximal tubule epithelial cells in the cyclosporine A+hyperbaric oxygen group were significantly higher than those of the cyclosporine A group. We recommend that renal functions of the patients receiving cyclosporine A should be monitored during hyperbaric oxygen therapy.  相似文献

目的 观察高压氧治疗海水浸泡火器伤所致兔股骨开放性骨缺损的疗效。方法 实验实施时间2020年7月至2021年5月。84只新西兰兔采用随机数字表法分成对照组和高压氧组。制作海水浸泡火器伤所致肢体开放性骨缺损模型,对照组彻底清创后,行骨折切开复位钢板内固定术;高压氧组彻底清创后,行骨折切开复位钢板内固定术,连续高压氧治疗7 d。通过X线摄片、定量PCR法、HE染色及生物力学分析评价各组治疗效果。结果 血管内皮生长因子(VEGF) mRNA各组各个时间段均有表达,与对照组相比,高压氧组术后1 d[(2.97±0.25)比(2.39±0.24)]、3 d[(4.12±0.38)比(3.65±0.30)]、1周[(4.83±0.23)比(4.36±0.39)]、2周[(5.89±0.40)比(5.04±0.36)]、4周[(4.21±0.42)比(5.04±0.36)],差异有统计学意义(P<0.05);术后8周、12周,两组VEGF mRNA表达,差异无统计学意义(P>0.05)。影像学观察:术后2周两组未见明显骨组织影,钢板及螺钉在位。术后4周两组骨缺损区有薄云状骨痂阴影,阴影区...  相似文献

目的观察下肢复合伤中应用高压氧的效果。方法 82例下肢开放性复合伤患者随机分为两组,均采用手术、清创、皮瓣转移,术后抗生素预防感染的常规治疗,观察组42例在常规治疗基础上加用高压氧治疗,共进行20 d。观察组治疗前后两组患者肌肉组织恢复情况、皮瓣转移存活率和骨折的愈合情况。结果观察组在治疗后局部肿胀消退,无疼痛或轻度压痛患者27例(64.3%),对照组在治疗后局部肿胀消退,无疼痛或轻度压痛患者13例(32.5%),观察组明显优于对照组(P<0.05)。观察组有21例患者行皮瓣转移,存活20例(95.2%),对照组有18例患者行皮瓣转移,存活15例(83.3%),观察组皮瓣转移存活率明显高于对照组(P<0.05)。平均随访12个月,观察组骨折平均愈合时间为4个月,愈合41例,愈合率97.6%;对照组骨折平均愈合时间为6个月,愈合37例,愈合率92.5%.观察组在愈合时间方面明显少于对照组(P<0.05),观察组骨折愈合率明显高于对照组(P<0.05)。结论高压氧治疗可以减轻下肢复合伤炎性反应、提高皮瓣转移存活率和加快骨折愈合。  相似文献

Abstract: Acute iron intoxication is one of the leading causes of overdose morbidity and mortality in children. The toxicity of iron has been postulated to be related to free radical formation and subsequent lipid peroxidation. Hyperbaric oxygen treatment can result in a number of beneficial biochemical, cellular and physiological effects, and has recently been shown to induce cellular protection against ischaemia, and in some cases against free radical formation. In the current study, we aimed to investigate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen treatment on mortality in acute iron intoxication in rats. After iron administration, 57 animals were divided into two groups: a treatment group receiving hyperbaric oxygen treatment (n = 30) and a control group (n = 27), and followed for 48 hr for signs of severe intoxication. In the second part of the study, 21 animals were divided into a treatment group receiving hyperbaric oxygen treatment (n = 10) and a control group (n = 11), and markers of oxidative stress were evaluated. We showed a significant reduction in mortality in hyperbaric oxygen‐treated animals from 17 of 27 (62.9%) among untreated rats to 6 of 30 (20%). Surprisingly, in the treatment group, levels of oxidative stress markers were higher. We postulate that hyperbaric oxygen has a potentially beneficial effect in acute iron intoxication.  相似文献

Context: Potentilla fulgens Wall. ex Hook (Rosaceae) is a potent medicinal plant of the Western Himalayas, where its roots are traditionally used by the local people of Uttaranchal (India) to treat wounds and tiger bites.

Objective: The present study scientifically evaluates the wound healing activity of P. fulgens ethanol root extract (EPF) and its ethyl acetate fraction (PFEA) on experimental rats.

Materials and methods: Wounds were inflicted on animals by using both excision and incision models. The wounded animals were treated for 16 days with EPF (oral: 200–400?mg/kg and topical: 5–10% w/w) and PFEA (oral: 75?mg/kg; topical: 1.75% w/w). Various physical (wound contraction, epithelialization rate, tensile strength) and biochemical parameters (hydroxyproline, hexosamine, proteins, DNA) were examined during the study. Oxidant product (lipidperoxidase), antioxidant enzymes (catalase, superoxide-dismutase) and reduced glutathione were determined. Morphological and histopathological studies of the skin tissues were monitored.

Results: A significant (p?<?0.05) wound healing property was observed when the animals were treated topically with EPF (10% w/w) and PFEA (1.75% w/w). A significantly (p?<?0.05) increased in the levels of hydroxyproline, hexosamine, protein and DNA up to 59.22, 70.42, 61.01 and 60.00% was observed, respectively. This effect was further demonstrated by the morphological and histopathological representation, thus showing significant (p?<?0.05) re-epethelialization on the healing area. EPF and PFEA also showed significant (p?<?0.05) antioxidant activity.

Conclusions: The present study provided the scientific evidence, where P. fulgens rich in polyphenolic components possess remarkable wound healing activities, thereby supporting the traditional claims.  相似文献

Context: Evolvulus alsinoides Linn. (Convolvulaceae), well known as shankhpushpi in Ayurvedic text, is traditionally used for several healing purposes.

Objective: A comparative evaluation of dermal wound healing potential of acidic and basic alkaloid enriched-ointment (AAO and BAO) of aerial parts of E. alsinoides versus pure alkaloid, betaine (BEO), was undertaken.

Material and methods: The effect of topical application (50?mg/animal/day) of AAO-1%, AAO-2%, BAO-1%, BAO-2%, BEO-0.5% and BEO-1% was assessed through excision (14 days) and incision (10 days) models on rats. The percentage wound contraction, total protein content, and breaking strengths were determined followed by histopathological studies.

Results and discussion: The total alkaloid in acidic and basic alkaloid enriched fractions was found to be 0.1114 and 0.1134?μg/mL, respectively. Thus, 0.1528, 0.3056, 0.1380 and 0.2459?μg of total alkaloid were estimated to be present in AAO-1%, AAO-2%, BAO-1% and BAO-2%, respectively. AAO and BAO promoted wound healing activity significantly in both the models. Higher rate of wound contraction (p?<?0.001) with significant increase in protein content in the treatment groups (from 2.32 to 2.55) demonstrated stimulation of cellular proliferation and epithelization, which was further supported by histopathological reports. High skin breaking strength (mean value 393 in control was increased to the range of 535–572 in treated groups) proved a significant (p?<?0.001) wound healing potential of E. alsinoides. Early dermal and epidermal regeneration in drug-treated groups also confirmed the positive effect.

Conclusion: Observation of higher healing power of alkaloid enriched-ointment compared with single alkaloid ointment corroborated the synergy mechanism.  相似文献

Mitomycin (mitomycin C; MMC) is an antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces caespitosus. The drug is a bioreductive alkylating agent that undergoes metabolic reductive activation, and has various oxygen tension-dependent cytotoxic effects on cells, including the cross-linking of DNA. It is widely used systemically for the treatment of malignancies, and has gained popularity as topical adjunctive therapy in ocular and adnexal surgery over the past 2 decades. In ophthalmic medicine, it is principally used to inhibit the wound healing response and reduce scarring of surgically fashioned ostia. Hence, it has been used as adjunctive therapy in various ocular surgeries, such as glaucoma filtering surgeries, dacryocystorhinostomy, corneal refractive surgery and surgeries for ocular cicatrisation. In addition, it has been used as an adjunct in the surgical management of pterygia, ocular surface squamous neoplasia, primary acquired melanosis with atypia and conjunctival melanoma. In many of these surgeries and ophthalmic pathologies, MMC showed a significant beneficial effect.  相似文献

In CO-poisoned patients without loss of consciousness no significant long-term functional differences in outcome have been shown in any hyperbaric versus normobaric oxygen studies. Since brain histology changes cannot be studied in CO-poisoned patients we evaluated the efficacy of normobaric and hyperbaric oxygen therapy in preventing brain cell injury in CO-poisoned animals without loss of consciousness. Wistar rats without loss of consciousness after exposure to 3000ppm of CO for 60min were exposed to ambient air (group 1), 100% oxygen at a pressure of 1bar (group 2) and 100% oxygen at a pressure of 3bar (group 3). The rats were sacrificed after two weeks, brain samples were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and a percentage of pyknotic cells in hippocampus was reported. Analyses of differences in percentage of pyknotic cells between different kinds of therapy showed that the percentage of pyknotic cells of the second group (2.3+/-1.2%) treated with normobaric oxygen and the third group (4.5+/-4.0%) treated with hyperbaric oxygen were similar, and both of them were significantly different, with a much lower percentage of pyknotic cells, from the first group left on ambient air (47.7+/-10.0%). In conclusion, immediate normobaric and hyperbaric oxygen therapy equally prevents hippocampal cell injury in CO-poisoned rats without loss of consciousness.  相似文献

Aim:The aim of the study was to assess the curcumin containing ethanolic extract (EtOH) obtained from Curcuma longa (Cl) against retardation of wound healing by aspirin.Results:Curcumin containing 5% and 10% ethanolic extract ointment have shown significant (P < 0.01) wound healing activity against an aspirin (administered 150 mg/kg body weight orally for 9 days) retarded wound healing process. Topical application of ointment showed significant (P < 0.01) difference as compared to the control group. Histopathological studies also showed healing of the epidermis, increased collagen, fibroblasts and blood vessels.Conclusion:Ethanolic extract of Cl ointment (EtOHCl) containing 10% curcumin displayed remarkable healing process against wound retardation by aspirin.KEY WORDS: Aspirin, Curcuma longa, excision wound, incision wound, wound contraction  相似文献
