Intraventricular tuberculoma 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A 38-year-old female presented with headaches, fever, and malaise. Computed tomography showed an intraventricular peripheral ring-enhanced lesion with central necrosis. The lesion was totally excised. Histological examination revealed a tuberculoma. The patient was treated with antituberculous chemotherapy. The patient was asymptomatic at 9 months. Ventricular involvement in neurotuberculosis is rare, but should be considered in the presence of other indicators of tuberculous infection. 相似文献

A thirty-two-year-old male was treated with radical orchiectomy for an asymptomatic spermatic cord mass which proved to be tuberculosis. This is the sixth reported case of spermatic cord tuberculosis without apparent disease elsewhere. 相似文献

STUDY DESIGN: Case report. OBJECTIVE: To report a rare lesion of intramedullary cervical tuberculoma. SETTING: Department of Neurosurgery, Southwest Hospital, Third Military Medical University, Chongqing, The People's Republic of China. CASE REPORT: A 15-year-old boy presented with pain in the neck and shoulder. Examination showed mild left hemiplegia and pinprink hyperalgesia on the left side up to C3 level. Chest X-ray and CT scan showed patch and dot lesions indicating old tuberculous lesions and MRI showed a ring-enhancing intramedullary lesion at C3/4 level. Tuberculoma resection and antituberculous therapy was given. There was satisfactory recovery clinically. CONCLUSION: Intramedullary cervical tuberculoma is a rare, coexisting systemic tuberculosis and MRI scan helps in obtaining a correct diagnosis; combining surgery with anti-tuberculosis therapy is the treatment of choice. 相似文献

Spinal intradural intramedullary tuberculoma is extremely rare entity of tuberculosis involving the nervous system. Because of its atypical symptomatology, it must be considered in differential diagnosis of spinal cord lesions, especially where prevalence of tuberculosis is high. In this case report this atypical disease is described where good outcome was achieved by surgical excision of the intramedullary lesion followed by antituberculous therapy. 相似文献

Intramedullary tuberculoma with syringomyelia is rare. We treated a woman with back pain and weakness of the left leg that had slowly progressed for more than 30 years. Radiologic evaluation demonstrated a crescent-shaped calcification at the level of the C6 vertebra, and syringomyelia from C7 to T9. Laminectomy and syringosubdural shunt placement were performed, and a tuberculoma was removed. Back pain resolved after the operation, and mobility was facilitated. We recommend surgery for intrathecal tuberculoma with syringomyelia even when the course has been prolonged with no active tuberculous lesion. 相似文献

The unusual occurrence of a cerebral tuberculoma is herewith reported. The first manifestation of the tuberculous infection was an optic perineuritis. Treatment of the "papillitis" with steroids was followed by Jacksonian seizures--the signature of the tuberculoma. Surgical excision has produced a cure. 相似文献
