选择1992年10月1日至1993年10月1日间104例新诊鼻咽癌病例,并随机选择对照,1∶1配对。调查居住史、职业史、烹调史等。多因素条件Logistit回归分析的结果表明:梅菜(OR=1.81,P=0.045),陈皮梅(OR=2.951,P=0.043),室内做饭(P=0.004,且>35年,OR=1.956),无烟囱的炉子(P=0.004,且>10年,OR=2.688)为鼻咽癌发病的危险因素。而葡萄(OR=0.3123,P<0.001)则有保护作用。遗传因素的OR值最大,提示可能是鼻咽癌发病的主要因素。  相似文献

本文以病例—对照的方法探讨了在黑龙江省与鼻咽癌发生有关的危险因素。调查鼻咽癌病例及对照共127对。在单因素与条件Logistic回归分析中均表明幼儿期食咸鱼(OR=5.5, χ2=4.92, P<0.05)及长期生活在烧煤的环境中(OR=1.894, χ2=4.655, P<0.05)可能与鼻咽癌的发生有关。此外,条件Logistic回归分析还发现,鼻窦炎病史也可能与鼻咽癌的发生有联系(B=1.385, exp(B)=3,995, P<0.1)。在对病例及对照的一级亲属患恶性肿瘤情况的调查中发现,鼻咽癌病例组有肿瘤家族史者多于对照组,其差异有统计学意义(χ2=10.32, P<0.01)。  相似文献

Many studies show that dietary factors may affect the risk of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC). We examined the association between overall diet quality and NPC risk in a Chinese population. This case-control study included 600 NPC patients and 600 matched controls between 2009 and 2011 in Guangzhou, China. Habitual dietary intake and various covariates were assessed via face-to-face interviews. Diet quality scores were calculated according to the Healthy Eating Index-2005 (HEI-2005), the alternate Healthy Eating Index (aHEI), the Diet Quality Index-International (DQI-I), and the alternate Mediterranean Diet Score (aMed). After adjustment for various lifestyle and dietary factors, greater diet quality scores on the HEI-2005, aHEI, and DQI-I—but not on the aMed—showed a significant association with a lower risk of NPC (p-trends, <0.001–0.001). The odds ratios (95% confidence interval) comparing the extreme quartiles of the three significant scores were 0.47 (0.32–0.68) (HEI-2005), 0.48 (0.33–0.70) (aHEI), and 0.43 (0.30–0.62) (DQI-I). In gender-stratified analyses, the favorable association remained significant in men but not in women. We found that adherence to the predefined dietary patterns represented by the HEI-2005, aHEI, and DQI-I scales predicted a lower risk of NPC in adults from south China, especially in men.  相似文献

Folate deficiency has been implicated in the carcinogenesis of several tumor types. The role of folate in prostate cancer remains indeterminate. We investigated folate as a risk factor for prostate cancer among 140 biopsy-confirmed prostate cancer patients, 230 age-matched clinic controls, and 250 negative prostate biopsy controls. Dietary folate intake was inversely associated with overall risk of prostate cancer as compared to clinic controls (P for a linear trend = 0.003). When stratified by disease severity, dietary folate and folate from natural sources were associated with reduced risk of high-grade cancer as compared to both clinic controls (P for a linear trend = 0.0009 and 0.02, respectively) and biopsy negative controls (P for a linear trend = 0.03 and 0.05, respectively). There was no interaction between alcohol consumption and folate intake. These analyses support an inverse association between dietary folate intake and prostate cancer risk and primarily risk of high-grade prostate cancer.  相似文献

Polyamines (including putrescine, spermidine, and spermine) are small, cationic molecules that are necessary for cell proliferation and differentiation. Few studies have examined the association of dietary polyamines intake with colorectal cancer risk. The aim of this study was to evaluate total polyamines, putrescine, spermidine, and spermine intake in relation to colorectal cancer risk in China. In total, 2502 colorectal cancer cases and 2538 age-(5-year interval) and sex-matched controls were recruited from July 2010 to April 2019. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were calculated by multivariable unconditional logistic regression after adjustment for various potential confounding factors. Higher intake of total polyamine, putrescine and spermidine was significantly associated with reduced risk of colorectal cancer. The adjusted ORs for the highest compared with the lowest quartile of intake were 0.60 (95% CI 0.50, 0.72; Ptrend < 0.001) for total polyamines, 0.35 (95% CI 0.29, 0.43; Ptrend < 0.001) for putrescine and 0.79 (95% CI 0.66, 0.95; Ptrend = 0.001) for spermidine, respectively. However, higher intake of spermine was associated with increased risk of colorectal cancer, with an adjusted OR of 1.58 (95% CI 1.29, 1.93; Ptrend < 0.001). This data indicate that higher intake of total polyamines, putrescine and spermidine, as well as lower intake of spermine, is associated with a decreased risk of colorectal cancer.  相似文献

This study examines the association between nutrient and fiber intake and the risk of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Between 1994 and 1997 in 8 Canadian provinces, mailed questionnaires were completed by 1,138 incident, histologically confirmed cases of RCC and 5,039 population controls. Measurement included information on socioeconomic status, lifestyle habits, and diet. A 69-item food frequency questionnaire provided data on eating habits 2 yr before data collection. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals were derived through unconditional logistic regression. Intakes of total fat, saturated fat, monounsaturated fat, trans-fat, and cholesterol were associated with the risk of RCC; the ORs for the highest vs. the lowest quartile were 1.67, 1.53 and 1.46, 1.31, and 1.48, respectively. The positive association was apparently stronger in women, overweight or obese, and never smokers. Sucrose was related to the risk of RCC. High fiber intake was inversely associated with RCC risk. No association was found with intake of total protein and polyunsaturated fat, n-3 and n-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, and total carbohydrates. The results were consistent across strata of sex, tobacco, and BMI. The findings suggest that a diet low in fats and cholesterol and rich in fiber could favorably affect the risk of RCC.  相似文献

Studies on the association between gastric cancer (GC) and the intake of nutrients in Jordan are very limited, while findings from other reports on the intake of energy and macronutrients are controversial. This study aimed to examine the associations between intake of energy and macronutrients and the risk of GC in a Jordanian population. A case-control study was carried out between March 2015 and August 2018 in four major hospitals, including an oncology center in Jordan. Study participants were 173 cases with incident and histologically confirmed GC and 314 frequency-matched controls. Interview-based questionnaires were used to obtain the study’s information. Data on nutrient intake were collected using a validated Arabic food-frequency questionnaire (FFQ). Odds ratios (ORs) and their corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated through multinomial logistic regression and adjusted for potential confounders, including age, marital status, education, body mass index (BMI), smoking, period of smoking, family history of gastric cancer, history of gastric ulcer, and physical activity. Intakes of total fat, saturated fat, monounsaturated fat, polyunsaturated fat, cholesterol, trans-fat, and omega-6 fatty acids were significantly associated with increased risk of GC. The ORs for the highest versus the lowest tertiles were 6.47 (95% Cl: 3.29–12.77), 2.97 (95% CI: 1.58–5.58), 6.84 (95% CI: 3.46–13.52), 6.19 (95% CI: 3.15–12.17), 3.05 (95% CI: 1.58–5.88), 8.11 (95% CI: 4.20–15.69), and 2.74 (95% CI: 1.47–5.09), respectively. No significant association was found for energy, protein, carbohydrate, sugar, fibers, and omega-3 fatty acids. The findings of this study suggest that high intake of selected types of fats was associated with an increased risk of GC.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine whether the intake of nitrate relative to antioxidant vitamin rather than absolute intake of nitrate affects the risk of gastric cancer (GC). In a case-control study in Korea using a food frequency questionnaire, trained dietitians interviewed 136 GC cases and an equal number of controls matched by sex and age. As an index of nitrate intake relative to antioxidant vitamins intake, we calculated the nitrate:antioxidant vitamin consumption ratio. The mean daily nitrate intake from foods was very high in our subjects. Higher absolute intake of nitrate was not associated with GC risk [odds ratios (OR) = 1.13; 95% confidence interval (CI) = 0.42–3.06]. However, the GC risk distinctly increased as the nitrate:antioxidant vitamin consumption ratio increased, particularly with higher nitrate:vitamin E (OR = 2.78; 95% CI = 1.01–7.67) and nitrate:folate ratios (OR = 3.37; 95% CI = 1.28–8.87). Therefore, GC risk was influenced by the intake of nitrate relative to antioxidant vitamins. Our results suggest that a decrease in the intake of nitrate relative to antioxidant vitamins is considerably more effective in reducing GC risk than either a lower absolute intake of nitrate or a higher intake of antioxidant vitamins alone.  相似文献

We conducted a case-control study (532 cases and 532 control) in Chinese adults to investigate the independent and interactive effects of dietary nutrients (pro- or anti-inflammation) on Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ESCC) risk. Dietary data were collected using a food questionnaire survey that included 171 items. Two algorithms, the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selector Operation (LASSO) and Bayesian Kernel Machine Regression (BKMR) were employed to select indicators and evaluate the interactive effect of nutrients’ mixture on ESCC risk. Thirteen nutrients were selected, including three pro-inflammatory nutrients (protein, fat and carbohydrate) and ten anti-inflammatory nutrients (fiber, Vitamin A, riboflavin, niacin, Vitamin C, Fe, Se, MUFA, n-3 PUFA and n-6 PUFA). Single-exposure effects of fat, carbohydrate and fiber significantly contributed to ESCC risk. The pro-inflammatory nutrients’ submodel discovered that the combined effect was statistically associated with increased ESCC risk. In addition, a higher fat level was significantly associated with ESCC risk. On the contrary, for fiber and riboflavin, the anti-inflammatory nutrients’ submodel delineated a significant negative effect on the risk of ESCC. Our result implies that dietary nutrients and their inflammatory traits significantly impacted ESCC occurrence. Additional studies are warranted to verify our findings.  相似文献

Although evidence supports that colorectal cancer (CRC) has an environmental etiology, the potential influence of diet appears to be one of the most important components. We studied the relation between food groups and nutrient intake and the risk of CRC. A hospital-based case-control study was conducted in Spain between 2007 and 2009. The authors matched 245 patients with incident histologically confirmed CRC by age, gender, and date of admission with 490 controls. Information about nutrient intake was gathered by using a semiquantitative frequency food questionnaire. Univariate analysis was done with individual food items. Odds ratios (ORs) for consecutive tertiles of nutrient intake were computed after allowance for sociodemographic variables and consumption of food groups. Vitamin B6 (OR: 0.26), vitamin D (OR: 0.45), vitamin E (OR: 0.42), polyunsaturated fatty acids (OR: 0.57), and fiber (OR: 0.40) were inversely associated with CRC, whereas carbohydrates (OR: 1.82) were significantly associated with CRC risk for the upper tertile. In multivariate analysis adjusting for major covariables (energy, age, and gender), vitamin D (OR:0.45), vitamin E (OR:0.36), and fiber (OR:0.46) remained associated with CRC. Data suggest that the etiology of colorectal cancer is not due to lifestyle and dietary patterns being important the effect of single nutrients.  相似文献

The results of dairy food consumption and breast cancer risk are conflicting, and their relationship has not previously been studied in China. The objective of this study is to examine the association between dairy products, calcium intake, and breast cancer risk among Chinese women. A hospital-based case-control study was conducted among Chinese women in the Guangdong province from June 2007 to August 2008. Four hundred and thirty-eight consecutively recruited cases with primary breast cancer were frequency-matched to 438 controls on age and residence. Dietary intake information was collected by interviewers using a validated food frequency questionnaire. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence interval (CI) were estimated using unconditional multiple logistic regression adjusted for various potential confounders. We observed a statistically significant inverse association of dietary calcium intake with breast cancer risk, with the adjusted OR (95% CI) of 0.35 (0.22–0.56) comparing the highest with the lowest quartile. No significant association was found between dairy products measured either by dry weight of dairy product or dairy product protein intake and breast cancer risk. Our study supports a protective effect of high intake of dietary calcium on breast cancer risk, and no association with dairy product intake.  相似文献

Dietary red meat and animal fat have been linked to endometrial cancer (EC) risk, but the impact of bioavailable iron in animal-derived foods has been less well studied. Our objective was to investigate the effects of iron and fats on the risk of EC in a large, population-based, case-control study. The Shanghai Endometrial Cancer Study enrolled 1,204 EC cases and 1,212 controls who completed in-person interviews, including a food frequency questionnaire. Animal-derived iron and fat intakes were calculated from dietary intakes and food composition tables. Logistic regression models were used to evaluate independent and joint effects of iron and fat on EC risk. Animal-derived iron intake was positively associated with EC risk [adjusted OR = 1.9; 95% CI = 1.4–2.7, P trend < 0.01, highest vs. lowest quartile], predominantly after menopause (OR = 2.2; 95%CI = 1.4–3.4, P trend < 0.01) and in women with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m 2 (OR = 3.2; 95% CI = 1.4–7.5 in postmenopausal obese women, P trend < 0.01). Animal-derived fat was also associated with postmenopausal EC risk (OR = 1.7; 95% CI = 1.2–2.5, P trend < 0.01). Multiplicative interactions between animal-derived iron and BMI or animal-derived fat intake were not observed. Animal-derived iron intake is associated with increased risk of EC after menopause and among obese women. Avoidance of animal-derived (heme) iron may reduce the risk of EC in these women.  相似文献

为了确定河南省肝癌发病的危险因素,选择152例诊断明确的原发性肝癌住院病例作为病例组,同时选择115例非肝病住院病例(排除肝胆系统疾患)作为对照组,进行病例对照研究。结果表明,HBV感染是河南省肝癌发病的重要危险因素(OR=31.22);HCV单独致肝癌的OR值为2.57,95%可信限为0.57~12.03,无统计学意义。但当HCV和HBV同时存在时,OR值为42.85,明显高于HBV或HCV单独致肝癌的危险性,呈明显的协同作用或相加作用。采用非条件Logistic回归模型分析表明HBV感染、本人肝病史、家庭肝病史、饮酒史,长期食用玉米、花生及花生类制品和精神创伤史等因素与肝癌发病有关联。  相似文献

Objective: The benefit of adherence to a Mediterranean-style dietary pattern in relation to the risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) has not been investigated among non-Mediterranean high-risk populations. The objective of the present study was to examine the association of compliance with the Mediterranean dietary pattern as measured by Mediterranean-Style Dietary Pattern Score (MSDPS) and the risk of ESCC in Iranian population.

Methods: This case-control study was conducted on 47 ESCC cases and 96 hospital controls aged 40–75 years. Participants were interviewed using validated questionnaires, and dietary patterns were characterized using the MSDPS.

Results: Generally, the mean MSDPS in this population was low (30.84 ± 8.58). MSDPS showed content validity through having expected positive associations with several lifestyle characteristics and dietary intakes. Being in the highest quartile category of MSDPS, compared to the lowest, was independently associated with 37% reduction in risk of ESCC. Two-unit and 3-unit increases in the MSDPS resulted in 41% and 47% reduction in risk of ESCC, respectively. Higher intakes of olive oil (odds ratio [OR] = 0.15, 95% CI: 0.01–0.49), fish and other seafood (OR = 0.48, 95% CI: 0.23–0.98), whole grain (OR = 0.57, 95% CI: 0.28–0.76), and fruits (OR = 0.77, 95% CI: 0.38–0.86) were significantly associated with reduced ESCC risk. In contrast, higher sweet (OR = 1.86, 95% CI: 1.04–2.12) and meat intakes (OR = 1.61, 95% CI: 1.25–2.49) were associated with higher ESCC risk.

Conclusion: Consuming a diet in concordance with the principles of the Mediterranean dietary pattern may protect against ESCC. Preventive strategies to reduce ESCC risk in high-risk countries should focus on overall dietary pattern and dietary habits to be effective.  相似文献

Several nutrients identified as potentially cancer protective have been inconsistently associated with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) risk. Dietary history data, including use of vitamin supplements, were collected using a semiquantitative food frequency questionnaire administered during in-person interviews with 4,133 participants (2,052 cases, 2,081 controls) in a San Francisco Bay Area population-based case-control study. Data were used to determine the association of intake levels of vitamins D and A and calcium with risk of NHL and NHL subtypes. Odds ratios (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were computed as estimates of relative risk using adjusted unconditional logistic regression. Increasing vitamin D intake from food and supplements was positively associated with NHL risk in men (5th quintile: OR = 1.6, 95% CI = 1.0–2.4, P trend = 0.07) and with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) in women and men (5th quintile: OR = 1.6, 95% CI = 1.0–2.5, P trend = 0.02); that was largely due to the effect in men (P trend = 0.03). These results do not support a strong role for vitamin D intake with NHL risk, with the exception of a potential association for DLBCL risk in men. Our results should be interpreted conservatively until further investigation in larger pooled studies can be conducted to better assess the role of vitamin D intake in lymphomagenesis.  相似文献

Objectives: There are conflicting results for the association between vitamin B6 intake with reduced pancreatic carcinoma risk. Thus, a meta-analysis was performed to summarize the evidences from epidemiological studies.

Methods: We searched documents from PubMed-Medline, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library. The results were analyzed by using Stata software.

Results: A total of nine studies were included. The multivariate-adjusted results found that the total RR values of pancreatic carcinoma was 0.65 (95% CI: 0.53–0.80) for the highest vitamin B6 intake vs the lowest vitamin B6 intake, and there was no significant heterogeneity among studies (I2?=?42.0%, P?=?0.087). Sensitivity analysis indicated that no single study leaded to an excessive change for the relation between vitamin B6 intake and pancreatic carcinoma risk.

Conclusions: This meta-analysis suggested that vitamin B6 intake could significantly decrease pancreatic carcinoma risk. However, further study is needed based on the limitations of the current analysis.  相似文献

目的 探讨与广西鼻咽癌高发有关的非病毒危险因素,为鼻咽癌病因学及其防治研究提供科学依据。方法 选择2000年3月至2001年5月期间在广西南宁市两家省级医院住院治疗,经病理学确诊的鼻咽癌病人175例,以及与病例相匹配的350名对照病人,采用1:2病例-对照研究方法,调查居住、职业、饮食、疾病等方面的情况,先使用单因素条件logistic回归模型对资料进行分析,将有意义的因素进行多因素条件logistic回归分析,得出与鼻咽癌发病有关的因素。结果 通过多因素条件logistic回归分析,筛选出7个与鼻咽癌发生有关的因素。结果表明,文化程度越低,职业接触有害物质,住房东西朝向,使用煤或柴草做燃料,每天吸烟越多,常吃腌制食品,有鼻咽癌家族史等,能增加鼻咽癌发生的危险性,其OR值分别为:0.713,1.832,2.191,3.677,1.164,3.120,15.569。结论 广西鼻咽癌高发除与遗传因素有关外,职业、环境因素和生活饮食习惯在鼻咽癌的发生中也起一定的作用。  相似文献

Epidemiological studies and laboratory data suggest that vitamin D may protect against the development of cancer, including breast cancer. Vitamin D supply affects the bioavailability of dietary calcium, which might also have anticarcinogenic effects. However, few studies considered them jointly. We used a population-based case-control study in Germany to examine the independent and joint effects of dietary vitamin D and calcium on premenopausal breast cancer risk. Dietary information was assessed using a validated food frequency questionnaire from 278 premenopausal cases and 666 age-matched controls. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were estimated using multivariate models adjusting vitamin D models for calcium intake and vice versa. Breast cancer risk was significantly inversely associated with vitamin D intake. The OR and 95% CI for the highest intake category (≥ 5 μ g/day) was 0.50 (95% CI = 0.26–0.96) compared with the lowest (< 2 μ g/day; Ptrend = 0.02). Dietary calcium intake was not associated with breast cancer (OR = 0.73, 95% CI = 0.41–1.29) for the highest (≥ 1,300 mg/day) versus the lowest category (< 700 mg/day), Ptrend = 0.29). No statistically significant interaction between the 2 nutrients was observed. Our data support a protective effect of dietary vitamin D on premenopausal breast cancer risk independent of dietary calcium intake.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to compare the dietary intake and serum levels of some selected carotenoids of lung cancer patients with healthy subjects. Thirty-five lung cancer patients and 33 healthy people were enrolled into this case-control study. Daily intake of nutrients was estimated using a semiquantitative food frequency questionnaire and a 3-day 24-h food recall questionnaire. The concentration of serum beta-carotene and lycopene were analyzed using a high performance liquid chromatography method. Case and control groups did not differ by the means of age, gender, smoking habits, weight, body mass index, mean daily energy intake, mean daily fat intake, and the percentage of daily energy provided by fat to total daily energy intake. The beta-carotene and lycopene intake of the case subjects was 96% and 195% greater than that of the control subjects. Daily intake of fruits and vegetables in the cancer group was higher than the control group. However, the serum concentration of 118% beta-carotene and 60% lycopene were higher in the control group. Despite a higher daily dietary intake of beta-carotene and lycopene by lung cancer patients, serum beta-carotene and lycopene concentrations were significantly lower than the group without cancer.  相似文献
