PURPOSE: To evaluate the effect of different insertion techniques and adhesive systems on microleakage of Class V composite resin restorations. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Forty-eight human molars were randomly assigned to four groups (n = 12). Standardized mixed Class V cavities (enamel and dentin margins) were prepared at the CEJ. A total-etch (Adper Scotchbond MultiPurpose) and a self-etching (iBond) adhesive system were evaluated using either an incremental or single-step (bulk) insertion technique. The preparations were restored with Esthet*X micromatrix hybrid composite. The teeth were thermocycled 1000 cycles, immersed in 1% methylene blue dye for 24 h, and invested in acrylic resin. The specimen blocks were then sectioned longitudinally, with dye penetration (microleakage) examined with a 20X binocular microscope. Enamel and dentin margins were scored separately for microleakage using an ordinal ranking system. Results were analyzed using non-parametric tests at a p < 0.05 level of significance. RESULTS: Significance was exhibited between the groups (adhesive material/insertion technique) at the coronal and apical margins. At the coronal margin, the total-etch adhesive/incremental insertion group exhibited significantly less leakage than the other groups, while at the apical margin, the total-etch adhesive/incremental insertion group showed significantly less leakage than the self-etching adhesive/bulk insertion group. Significantly less leakage was found at the coronal margins compared to the apical margins of the material/technique groups. CONCLUSION: The use of a total-etch adhesive system and incremental insertion of composite significantly reduced microleakage at the coronal and apical margins of Class V composite restorations.  相似文献

This in vitro study evaluated the coronal and apical marginal microleakage of four self-etch, seventh generation adhesive systems. Sixty non-carious human molars were randomly assigned to four groups (n = 12). Class V cavities were prepared on the facial or lingual surface of each tooth with coronal margins in enamel and apical margins in cementum (dentin) at the cementoenamel junction. The preparations were restored using four self-etch adhesive systems (iBond, G-Bond, Xeno IV and Clearfil S3 Bond) and a control (no adhesive), followed by insertion of Gradia Direct microfilled hybrid resin composite. The teeth (specimens) were thermocycled 1,000 cycles, immersed in 1% methylene blue dye for 24 hours and invested in acrylic resin. The specimen blocks were then sectioned longitudinally, with dye penetration (microleakage) examined using a 20x binocular microscope. Coronal and apical margins were scored separately for microleakage using a 0-3 ordinal ranking system. Data were analyzed using non-parametric tests at a p < 0.05 level of significance. A comparison of adhesive and control groups at the coronal and apical margins revealed that significant (p < .0001) differences were exhibited. At the coronal margin, Xeno IV revealed significantly less leakage than the other adhesives, with Clearfil S3 Bond exhibiting significantly less leakage at the apical margin. Groups with no adhesive treatment (control) showed significantly greater leakage at both the coronal and apical margin locations. A Wilcoxon signed rank test showed no significant differences at the coronal compared to the apical margins of the four adhesive systems and control tested.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to compare the seal along dentin and enamel margins produced by 3 self-etching resin bonding systems to that of an etch-and-rinse adhesive system. Potential improvement in adaptation along enamel margins through the experimental use of conventional enamel etching prior to application of the self-etching adhesives was also evaluated. METHOD AND MATERIALS: Class V resin composite restorations were placed in prepared cavities in extracted third molars using 3 self-etching dentin adhesive systems: Adper Prompt L-Pop (3M Espe), iBond GI (Heraeus Kulzer), and Tyrian SPE (Bisco), and an etch-and rinse adhesive, Adper ScotchBond Multi-Purpose (3M Espe). A group of teeth also underwent conventional enamel etching prior to use of the self-etching products. The restored teeth were thermocycled, subjected to a dye challenge, and sectioned. The sections were scored using an ordinal leakage scale (n = 20). Ranked data were analyzed using a 2-way analysis of variance and Tukey multiple comparison. RESULTS: When used as directed, there were no significant differences along dentin margins for any of the adhesives, but Adper Prompt and iBond demonstrated significantly greater leakage than the etch-and-rinse product along enamel margins. The incidence of enamel margin leakage decreased significantly for the same 2 products when enamel etching preceded use of the resin. Enamel etching increased the leakage along dentin margins for all 3 self-etching products, but not significantly. CONCLUSION: Considerable improvement of all classes of dentin-adhesive resin systems is still needed. Practitioners should await further clinical trials before adopting use of self-etching resins, especially for large occlusal restorations.  相似文献

This study evaluated, in vitro, the effectiveness of 5 surface sealants (Biscover, Optiguard, Seal-n-Shine, PermaSeal and DuraFinish); 1 pit and fissure sealant (Helioseal) and 1 dentin bonding agent (Adper Scotchbond MultiPurpose Adhesive) on the marginal sealing ability of Class V hybrid resin composite (Esthet.X) restorations. Ninety-six non-carious human molars were randomly assigned to 8 groups (n=12). Class V cavities were prepared on either the facial or lingual surfaces, with coronal margins in enamel and apical margins in cementum (dentin), and restored following manufacturers' instructions. Following finishing and polishing procedures, the covering agents were applied to each restoration and adjacent tooth surface, except for the control group restorations, which were not sealed. The teeth were thermocycled, immersed in a 1% methylene blue dye solution, sectioned and analyzed for dye penetration (leakage) using a 20x binocular microscope. Microleakage was evaluated at the coronal and apical margins using an 0-3 ordinal grading scale. Non-parametric data was analyzed at a p< or =0.05 level of significance. The Kruskal-Wallis test showed a significant difference was exhibited among groups at the coronal margins, with Helioseal pit/fissure sealant and DuraFinish surface sealant exhibiting significantly less leakage than the control and Adper Scotchbond MultiPurpose adhesive. At the apical margins, DuraFinish surface sealant showed significantly less leakage than the Biscover, Seal-n-Shine and PermaSeal surface sealants or Helioseal pit/fissure sealant, Adper Scotchbond MultiPurpose adhesive and the control group. According to the Wicoxon signed-rank test, significantly greater leakage was revealed at the apical margins compared to the enamel margins of the material groups.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the influence of operator skill on microleakage in class V restorations using simplified bonding systems. METHODS: Two cavities were carried out on the buccal and lingual surfaces of 50 human bicuspid teeth. The teeth were randomly assigned to two groups according to the operator's skill: student group and expert group. The two cavities of each tooth were randomly treated with Adper Scotchbond 1 XT (total-etch adhesive) and Adper Prompt L-Pop (self-etch adhesive). All cavities were restored with a 0.2mm thick layer of flowable composite (Filtek flow) followed by one bulk increment of resin composite (Filtek Supreme XT). Specimens were thermocycled, immersed in 2% methylene blue and sectioned in a bucco-lingual plane. They were then examined under a stereomicroscope and scored according to microleakage. The data was subjected to a multilevel statistical model. RESULTS: At the dentine margin the microleakage resulting from both the self-etch adhesive and the total-etch one was similar in the student and in the expert groups. The interaction term skill x adhesive was not statistically significant (p=0.4156). At the enamel margin the self-etch adhesive microleakage within the student group resulted lower than that within the expert group. On the other hand, the total-etch adhesive microleakage within the expert group resulted lower than that within the student group. The interaction term skill x adhesive was statistically significant (p=0.0037). CONCLUSIONS: Both the adhesives used were sensitive to operator skill in obtaining a reliable seal with the enamel. On the dentine, both adhesives demonstrated little sensitivity to operator skill.  相似文献

PURPOSE: This in vitro study compared the ability of several recently introduced 1-bottle adhesives to their preceding multiple-step dentin bonding agents in reducing microleakage around Class V composite restorations. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Facial and lingual Class V cavities were prepared in 48 molar teeth, which were randomly divided into 6 equal groups. Three groups used the fourth-generation multiple-step systems, and 3 used the fifth-generation single-bottle adhesives. All cavities were restored by composite and subjected to thermocycling and intermittent occlusal loading. After immersion in 0.5% basic fuchsin, the teeth were cut faciolingually in 5 consecutive sections and evaluated for dye penetration using a binocular stereomicroscope. RESULTS: There was no statistically significant difference in the degree of microleakage comparing the adhesive's generation and manufacturer and the location of the cavity margins. A significant interaction was found between margin location and manufacturer, which implied that the sealing capacity at the enamel and cementum margins was material-specific. CONCLUSION: Scotchbond Multi-Purpose and Single Bond adhesives provided the best seal for enamel margins, and One-Step and Optibond FL adhesives were best for cementum margins.  相似文献

This in vitro study evaluated the effect of dentin bonding agents in reducing microleakage after three months in Class V restorations restored with Z100 resin composite. Materials tested were three types of resin-based dentin bonding agents: a multi-step (Scotchbond Multi-Purpose); a one-step (Scotchbond One-Step); a self-etching, self-priming (Clearfil Liner Bond) and a resin-modified glass ionomer (GC Fuji Bond LC). Class V cavity preparations with occlusal margins in enamel and gingival margins in cementum were prepared both on labial and lingual surfaces of extracted premolar teeth. Restorations (two per tooth) were distributed randomly into nine test groups (n = 10) consisting of the various DBAs applied with co-cure and pre-cure techniques, and no dentin bonding as a negative control group. Samples were stored in saline for three months, thermocycled, stained with silver nitrate, then sectioned through the middle of the preparation to facilitate the removal of the composite resin restoration. For groups treated with the pre-cure technique, the differences between the enamel leakage values of SBMP-control, CFLB-control and SB1S-control subgroups were significant (p < 0.05). For enamel leakage values of groups treated with the co-cure technique, the differences between the SBMP-control, SB1S-control, CFLB-control and Fuji LC-control subgroups were significant (p < 0.05). For cementum leakage values of groups treated with pre-cure technique, the difference between the CFLB-control and the Fuji, SBMP and SB1S groups was significant (p < 0.05). No significant differences could be detected between the cementum leakage values of groups treated with the co-cure technique (p > 0.05). The differences between the values obtained with application of CFLB with the pre-cure and co-cure techniques at the cementum margins were found to be statistically significant (p = 0.02). No statistically significant differences could be detected between the pre-cure and co-cure values of the other test materials. Generally for every group, cementum microleakage values were greater than enamel microleakage values (p < 0.05). The use of Scotchbond Multi-Purpose, Scotchbond One-Step and Fuji Bond LC with the co-cure technique to decrease the application time did not cause any significant increase in microleakage. Only pre-curing using Clearfil Liner Bond provided better microleakage properties than the other pre-cured adhesives.  相似文献

This study evaluated the microleakage of Class V cavities restored with three different types of flowable resin restorative material and compared the effects of using their respective manufacturer's dentin adhesive or a different brand. Class V cavities with the occlusal margin in enamel and the gingival margin in dentin were prepared on the buccal and lingual surfaces of 48 non-carious human molars. The teeth were randomly assigned to three equal groups of 16. The first eight teeth in each group were restored with one of the flowable restorative materials (Filtek Flow, Dyract Flow, Admira Flow) using the manufacturer's recommended dentin adhesive (Single Bond, Prime & Bond NT, Admira Bond), and the remaining eight molars were restored using a different brand of dentin adhesive (Gluma Comfort Bond). The samples were thermocycled 200 times (5 degrees C-55 degrees C) with a one-minute dwell time. They were then immersed in a 2% basic fuchsin solution for 24 hours, sectioned and analyzed by stereomicroscopy. There was no statistically significant difference at the occlusal margins for either restoration used with its respective dentin adhesive. At the gingival margins, there was a significant difference among all groups. Flowable ormocer (Admira Flow/Admira Bond) displayed the least leakage at the gingival margins. When these flowable restoratives were used with a different brand of dentin adhesive, statistically significant differences were observed both on enamel and dentin. None of the restoratives tested fully prevented leakage at the gingival margins. No significant differences in microleakage were observed among the restorative materials used with respect to the manufacturer's dentin adhesive or a different brand except for Admira Flow restorative at the gingival margins. The gingival margins had significantly more microleakage than the occlusal margins (p < 0.05) except in the Admira Flow group, where microleakage at the occlusal and gingival margins was almost equal.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the influence of operator skill on microleakage in class V restorations using two-step bonding systems. METHODS: Two standardized box cavities were made on the buccal and lingual surfaces of 54 human bicuspid teeth, with the cervical margin in dentin. The teeth were randomly assigned to two groups according to the operator's skill. Students group: undergraduate students. Expert group: a dentist with 20 years of clinical experience in dental adhesion. The buccal cavities of each tooth were treated with Prime&Bond NT (two-step total-etch system); the lingual cavities were treated with AdheSE (two-step self-etch system). All cavities were restored by a single calibrated operator with one bulk increment of resin composite (InTens; Ivoclar Vivadent). Specimens were thermocycled, immersed in 2% methylene blue and sectioned in a bucco-lingual plane in the middle of the restorations. They were then examined under a stereomicroscope and scored according to microleakage by two operators who were blind to the specimen preparation. The data was subjected to a multilevel statistical model. RESULTS: The microleakage resulting from the self-etch adhesive was similar in the student and in the expert groups. On the other hand, the total-etch adhesive microleakage within the expert group resulted lower than that within the student group. However, the interaction term skill x adhesive resulted statistically significant at the dentin margin (p=0.0474) but not at the enamel margin (p=0.1267). CONCLUSION: While the total-etch adhesive used in this study showed to be skill-sensitive, the self-etch one proved to be less skill-sensitive in obtaining a reliable seal with dentin.  相似文献

PURPOSE: This study compared the effectiveness of self-etch and total-etch adhesive systems in bonding to the beveled and nonbeveled margins of primary and permanent teeth. METHODS: This in vitro, factorial-designed study allowed evaluation of 3 factors: (1) tooth type; (2) presence of a bevel; and (3) adhesive type. Two preparations, each including a beveled and nonbeveled margin, were completed on buccal surfaces of 60 extracted molars (30 primary and 30 permanent). Preparations were randomly assigned to self-etch or a total-etch adhesive system and restored with resin composite. After thermocycling, teeth were stained with silver nitrate, sectioned, and measured for microleakage. Statistical analysis used a repeated measures analysis of variance. RESULTS: Beveled margins had less microleakage than nonbeveled margins for primary and permanent teeth (P < .001). Total-etch had less microleakage than self-etch adhesives on primary (53% less, P < .001) and on permanent teeth (22% less, P = .01). Self-etch had considerably more microleakage when enamel margins were not beveled. Comparably less microleakage, however, was found for total-etch and self-etch in restorations with beveled margins. CONCLUSIONS: Total-etch adhesive and beveled margins resulted in the least microleakage. Margin beveling has a greater effect in minimizing microleakage than the type of adhesive used.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: This study evaluated the effect of an unfilled-adhesive resin (Adper Single Bond) and a filled-adhesive resin (Adper Single Bond 2) with and without a low viscosity resin (Filtek Flow) as an elastic cavity wall on marginal leakage and dentin microtensile bond strength in Class V composite restorations under unloaded and loaded conditions. METHODS: V-shaped cavities were prepared on the buccal surfaces of 56 premolars lined with unfilled (Groups 1 and 3) or filled (Groups 2 and 4) adhesives with (Groups 3 and 4) and without (Groups 1 and 2) a low viscosity resin and restored with a resin composite. The restored teeth in each group were divided into two sub-groups for unloaded and loaded conditions with 50N loading force for 250,000 cycles parallel to the long-axis of the tooth. Five specimens from each group were cut bucco-lingually 0.7 mm thick and subjected to a dye leakage test for four hours using 2% methylene blue dye. The tested specimens were then trimmed into dumbbell shapes at the gingival margin and subjected to microtensile testing. The remaining two specimens were cut, embedded and observed for resin/dentin interfaces under a scanning electron microscope. RESULTS: For the microleakage test, there were no significant differences in microleakage among the groups on both the enamel and dentin margin. No statistically significant differences were found between microleakage of the loaded and unloaded groups on enamel margins for all materials. There were statistically significant differences between microleakage of the loaded and unloaded groups on the dentin margin for Groups 3 and 4. For the microtensile test, the significant difference was found between Groups 1 and 4 for the unloaded groups. For the loaded groups, there were no significant differences between Groups 1 and 2 and Groups 3 and 4. There were no statistically significant differences in microtensile bond strength between the loaded and unloaded groups except for Group 2. CONCLUSION: The application of filled adhesive or low viscosity resin had no influence on marginal leakage at both the enamel and dentin margin but it had an influence on the microtensile bond strength to dentin of Class V restorations. Occlusal loading significantly increased the degree of marginal leakage at the dentin margin when low viscosity was applied in combination with either unfilled or filled-adhesives, but it decreased dentin bond strength in the group treated with only filled adhesive.  相似文献

This study evaluated the microleakage of composite fillings prepared with 4 etch and rinse and 3 self-etch adhesive systems after thermocycling. Also evaluated was the potential improvement of cavity sealing when utilizing a low charged resin lining for cavity preparations. Seventy recently extracted teeth were randomly allocated to 7 experimental adhesive systems: two 3-step etch and rinse adhesive systems, Scotchbond Multipurpose (SBMP) and Optibond Solo Plus (OS); two 2-step etch and rinse adhesive systems, referred to as "one-bottle," Scotchbond 1 (SB1) and Gluma Comfort Bond + Desensitizer (G); and 3 self-etch "all-in-one" adhesives, Adper Prompt-L-Pop (PLP), Xeno III (X-III) and iBond (iB). On each tooth, 2 rectangular cavities were prepared at the cemento-enamel junction: 1 cavity was prepared with adhesive and the hybrid composite and the second was filled with the same adhesive and a thin layer of flowable composite (Filtek Flow) under the resin composite (Z100). All teeth were thermocycled for 800 cycles (5 degrees C-55 degrees C, 30 seconds dwell time). Leakage was evaluated on a 6-point (0-5) severity scale for enamel and dentin on 4 interfaces for each restoration. The results are expressed as means +/- standard deviation (SD). Microleakage scores were analyzed by means of generalized linear mixed models (GLMM), assuming an ordinal logistic link function. Covariates in the model were: (1) adhesives, (2) fluid composite and (3) interface. The model also accounts for repeated measurements on the various teeth. The authors found that the mean score of microleakage per tooth was significantly higher at the enamel rather than at the dentin interfaces (1.21 +/- 0.51 and 0.87 +/- 0.48; p<0.0001). In this study, there was no significant difference among the 4 etch and rinse adhesive systems. On the other hand, these adhesives yielded smaller mean scores of microleakage than the 3 self-etch systems (respectively, 0.85 +/- 0.2 and 1.3 +/- 0.5; p<0.0001). Among the self-etch adhesives, microleakage was significantly greater for PLP (1.74 +/- 0.46) than for the other self-etch products (p<0.0001), while X-III, an intermediary strong self-etch, was found to be as good as the etch and rinse systems, with a mean score of 0.97 +/- 0.27. In addition, results have also shown that an under layer of flowable composite significantly improved the water tightness of the PLP adhesive restorations (p=0.042). This in vitro study concluded that the self-etch adhesives remain less effective than etch and rinse. Nevertheless, X-III, a self-etch adhesive, showed acceptable performance in accordance with this study's 6-point severity scale of microleakage, but this needs to be confirmed in further clinical studies. On the other hand, this study failed to reveal that the addition of a thin layer of fluid composite improved the water tightness of the restoration, except for PLP.  相似文献

The aim of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effects of different types of adhesive systems on the microleakage of compomer restorations in Class V cavities prepared by erbium, chromium: yttrium scandium gallium garnet (Er,Cr:YSGG) laser. There were five test groups according to the type of adhesive applied to the cavities: Adper Single Bond 2 (Group 1), Scotchbond Multi-Purpose Plus (Group 2), Xeno III (Group 3), Clearfil Protect Bond (Group 4), Prime&Bond NT (Group 5). Dye penetration was evaluated under a stereomicroscope, and data were statistically analyzed by Kruskal-Wallis and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks tests. Gingival margins showed significantly higher microleakage than occlusal margins in all the test groups (p<0.05). Groups 1 and 2 showed significantly less microleakage than Group 5 (p<0.05), and there were no statistically significant differences among Groups 3, 4, and 5 (p>0.05). None of the dentin bonding agents eliminated microleakage completely, and higher microleakage scores were observed along the gingival margin than the occlusal margin.  相似文献

Cavities were cut in both the buccal and lingual surfaces. The coronal half of each preparation was in enamel, and the gingival half was in cementum or dentin. The cavities were restored with composite after the application of dentin bonding agents, using two different drying techniques for each material. The teeth were stored in distilled water for 6 days at 37°C and then thermocycled. The restorations were examined microscopically for leakage, using Procion brilliant red as a marker. All groups showed microleakage at both the enamel and dentin margins. At the gingival margin, there was no significant difference between any of the experimental materials and the control for either wet bonding (Kruskal-Wallis: p .8920) or dry bonding (Kruskal-Wallis: p .9973); or between the two techniques for each material (Mann-Whitney U in all cases p > .05). Scanning electron microscopic examination confirmed that the zones of microleakage, as indicated by dye penetration, were principally resin-cohesive failures within the collagen-rich hybrid layer. Three water-based bonding agents were unable to prevent microleakage at either the enamel or dentin margins of Class V cavities regardless of which bonding technique was employed. This study evaluated the in vitro microleakage of six dentin adhesive systems. Triangle-shaped Class V cavities with coronal margin in enamel and gingival margin in cementum or root dentin were cut in the buccal surfaces of 90 non-carious single-root human teeth. These teeth were randomly assigned into six groups (n = 15) for the evaluation of six different dentin adhesive systems: One Step, Prime & Bond 2.0, Syntac Single, Single Bond, Optibond Solo and Syntac Sprint. The preparations were restored with Degufill Ultra composite and polished using the Enhance system. Each group was randomly divided into three subgroups (n = 5): samples of the first subgroup were immersed in 2% methylene blue solution for seven days; those of the second subgroup remained in a similar solution for 31 days; those of the third subgroup were thermocycled 500x at 5-55 degrees C and immersed in 2% methylene blue for seven days. All 90 teeth were then embedded in methacrylate and bucco-lingually sectioned; the dye penetration was evaluated using an 0-4 ordinal scale. All of the dentin adhesive groups showed minimal leakage at the enamel margins with increased leakage at the gingival margins. Optibond Solo showed the best outcomes among the dentin adhesives tested.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: The goal of this investigation was to assess in vitro the quality of marginal sealing of composite-dentin adhesive systems and human dentin. METHOD AND MATERIALS: Forty intact human premolars and third molars were extracted from subjects of both sexes and of different ages. After the enamel layer was removed, a Class V cavity was formed on the buccal surface, and a wedge cavity was formed on the lingual surface. These were restored with resin composite materials and their corresponding dentin adhesive systems. The quality of marginal sealing was evaluated by assessing the linear penetration of silver nitrate dye. RESULTS: The best marginal sealing between composite materials and the cavity walls, in both wedge erosions and Class V cavities, was provided by Scotchbond Multi-Purpose/Valux and Syntac/Helioprogres systems. Dye penetration was slightly greater with the XR-Bond/Herculite, Gluma/Pekafill, and Superlux Universal Bond 2/Superlux Solar systems. The greatest microleakage was observed in Tripton/Opalux and Denthesive/Charisma specimens. CONCLUSION: The use of an adhesive system and the corresponding resin composite does not eliminate microleakage completely when the cavity margins are in dentin.  相似文献

This study sought to compare the microleakage of composite resin restorations using two different dentin adhesive systems and two different modes of cavity preparation: a high-speed handpiece and an Er,Cr:YSGG laser. Twenty-five caries-free permanent human premolars were assigned randomly into five groups of five. A high-speed handpiece was used to prepare Class V cavities on the buccal and lingual surfaces of 10 randomly selected teeth. Class V cavities were cut on the buccal and lingual surfaces of the remaining 15 teeth using the Er,Cr:YSGG laser system. Fifty cavities were prepared with enamel and dentin margins 1.0 mm below the cemento-enamel junction and assigned into five groups: I, II, and III by the Er,Cr:YSGG laser and IV and V by the high-speed handpiece. In all groups, the differences between gingival and occlusal leakage scores were statistically significant (p < 0.05). The occlusal and gingival scores of groups I and IV demonstrated statistically significant differences (p < 0.05). The lased group with additional acid etching revealed less microleakage than groups III and IV (p < 0.05). Both self-etch and total-etch adhesive systems demonstrated acceptable microleakage scores when used on Er,Cr:YSGG laser-prepared cavities; however, additional acid etching after Er,Cr:YSGG laser preparation is recommended.  相似文献

OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this study was to compare the leakage of three resin dentine bonding agents (Prime and Bond, Scotchbond Multi-Purpose, Probond) and a glass ionomer dentine bonding agent (GC Fujibond LC), in cervical cavities prepared in primary and permanent molar teeth restored with a hybrid composite resin (Tetric). METHODS: Cervical cavities without a bevel at the cavo-surface margins were prepared in the buccal and lingual surfaces of extracted primary and permanent molar teeth. After being restored, the teeth were stored for 1 week in a saline solution at 37 degrees C and then thermally cycled between 5 and 55 degrees C. Marginal leakage was determined subsequently using a radioactive isotope containing 45Ca and an autoradiographic technique. RESULTS: The results revealed that there were no statistically significant differences in microleakage of the bond between permanent and primary teeth dentine and Fuji Bond LC and Probond dentine bonding agents. The difference between permanent and primary teeth groups for gingival values of the Prime and Bond 2.1 group U=22.5, p=0.0355 and the Scotchbond Multipurpose group U=24.0, p=0.0406 were statistically significant. There were no significant differences between the occlusal and gingival microleakage values in either primary or permanent teeth with Prime and Bond 2.1, Fuji Bond LC and Probond except the difference at Scotchbond Multipurpose in primary teeth. For primary teeth gingival margins, none of the bonding systems were significantly different from the control group. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicate that although no statistically significant differences were found between test and control group values, the use of Fuji II LC in cervical cavities with cementum margins in primary teeth would provide the best resistance to microleakage among the test materials while the use of Scotchbond Multi-Purpose would provide the best resistance to microleakage in cervical cavities with cementum margins in permanent teeth.  相似文献

PURPOSE: The objective of this study was to compare the marginal leakage of cervical restorations made using alternative restorative treatment (ART) and conventional glass ionomer restorations. METHODS: Sixteen permanent maxillary and mandibular first and second molars extracted for periodontal reasons with Class V carious dentin on the buccal surfaces were prepared using ART while a second set of 29 noncarious molars had Class V preparations made with a high-speed handpiece. The occlusal margin was located in the enamel, and the gingival margin was located in the dentin/cementum. All teeth were restored with glass ionomer cement (GIC). The teeth were thermally stressed for 300 cycles and stained with methylene blue. Samples were sectioned and evaluated for microleakage. RESULTS: One-way analysis of variance on ranks revealed no significant difference in leakage at both the dentin and enamel margins between the conventional and ART groups. The microleakage at the dentin margin, however, was significantly greater (P < .001) than at the enamel margins in the conventional group. CONCLUSION: Alternative restorative treatment with GIC provides enamel and dentin margins that show comparable marginal leakage to conventionally restored permanent teeth. For the conventional restorations, leakage at the dentin margins occurs to a significantly higher extent than at the enamel margins.  相似文献
