AbstractThe Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 was intended to improve the quality of medical laboratories. It includes education requirements for personnel involved in “high complexity testing” who serve the anatomic pathology lab. Many surgical pathology labs rely on histotechnologists and histotechnicians to gross surgical specimens, a time consuming activity. This has helped to expedite turnaround time and has proven cost-effective. CLIA ′88 could change this practice and cause a shortage of qualified laboratory personnel. Primary immunodeficiencies (IDs) are caused by inherited genetic defects leading to intrinsic defects in cells of the immune systems. Most IDs are rare diseases and can be difficult to diagnose because similar symptoms characterize several disorders. Mutation detection is the most reliable method in such cases. These tests are not available at most centers and physicians can have difficulties in finding laboratories that could analyze the genetic defects because certain genes are possibly analyzed by just one laboratory. The IDdiagnostics registry has been established to provide information for physicians and other health care professionals. The database at http://bioinf.uta.fi/IDdiagnostics contains currently information for the analysis of defects in 30 ID-related genes. Another part of IDdiagnostics is a database of clinical tests. Laboratories performing these analyses, either gene or clinical tests, are asked to submit their information to the database by using a printed form or electronic submission at http://bioinf.uta.fi/cgi-bin/submit/IDClini.cgi. The clinical test database contains information about tests for clinical data, immune status, and studies of function, antibody response, cell function, enzyme assays, clinical function, and apoptosis assays. 目的分析广东省性病实验室淋球菌培养鉴定的质量。方法2004—2006年间开展性病实验室淋球菌培养鉴定室间质评活动。发放淋球菌质控样品到参评实验室。各室按照常规操作进行淋球菌培养鉴定和产β-内酰胺酶(PPNG)试验。结果3年间,共计162家实验室检测765份质评样本,培养鉴定的总体符合率为70.13%。2004年质评实验室15家、2005年60家和2006年87家,淋球菌培养鉴定的总符合率分别为63.3%、62.1%和72.7%。3年间PPNG鉴定的总体准确率87%。结论通过规范化建设的性病实验室淋球菌鉴定能力逐年提高,但个别实验室存在试剂质量,操作技能,结果报告准确性和规范性等问题,有待进一步提高。 相似文献

Abstract During the socialist period before 1989, training in behavioral medicine and behavioral science was not a priority in Hungary's medical schools despite the nation's long tradition of psychosomatic and behavioral medicine. In this article, the authors review the development of behavioral medicine and behavioral science in Hungarian medical schools and outline some of the problems and future challenges these departments face. The resistance of faculty members has influenced the acceptance of behavioral medicine and behavioral science courses, attitudes toward the acceptance of departments of behavioral science, and evaluations of the staff's scientific research. Although research is emphasized in these departments of behavioral medicine, closer integration of teaching, research, and health policy is necessary. The primary message of this approach is that modern physicians should see beyond molecular substances and perceive humans from a total biopsychosocial perspective. 相似文献

facing the independent inventor and offers a number of recommendations and resources to facilitate independent inventors in
