Background

As with many other populations, abuse of older adults is a growing problem across the Africa Diaspora. Modernization and urbanization are eroding the traditional values of respect for older adults. Also, older adults living in environments with limited social and economic resources, and having no means of economic support create a recipe for elder abuse and neglect.

Methods

This article reviews the current literature on the epidemiology, risk factors, and interventions used for elder abuse across the African Diaspora.

Results

Reports of elder abuse range from 24.9% to 81.1% across the Diaspora. Risk factors include cognitive and physical impairment, social isolation, lack of resources and widowhood.

Conclusion

Community-based programs using the unique social networks of older populations of African descent can provide a venue to improve caregiver training and support, reinforce traditional filial and informal caregiving practices, increase the utilization of available governmental and institutional.  相似文献

Background

Human parainfluenza viruses (HPIV) 1–4 had been analyzed as being one of the most frequent causes of hospitalizations for young children with respiratory tract illnesses.

Methods

This retrospective study was performed from children virologically confirmed as HPIV infection through throat swab or nasopharyngeal aspirates at a tertiary care university hospital, between January 2012 and December 2014. HPIV4 was not checked and analyzed, due to not include in the commercial kit. The demographic, epidemiological, clinical presentations, diagnosis, treatment, outcomes, and laboratory data were analyzed.

Results

Totally 398 cases were enrolled, including 39 (9.8%) of HPIV1, 67 (16.8%) of HPIV2, and 292 (73.4%) of HPIV3. The mean age of HPIV-infected children was 2.9 year-old, and 50.5% were among one to three year-old. A total of 56.8% HPIV3-infected children were among one to three years old, however, no HPIV2-infected children was younger than one year-old. The HPIV1-infected patients were more common to develop wheezing and diagnose as acute bronchiolitis. HPIV2-infected children were more likely to have hoarseness (23.9%), and were associated with croup (25.4%). HPIV3 was isolated from two fatal cases, with neurological underlying diseases.

Conclusion

The impact caused by HPIVs infections is significant in hospitalized children. In the current study, our results contribute to the epidemiologic, clinical and laboratory information of HPIV infection in children in the important areas of respiratory tract infection that could support the development of optimization management.  相似文献

Background/purpose

Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) improves the patient's quality of life by relieving pain, correcting the deformity, and helping the patient resume normal activities. However, post-TKA prosthetic joint infection leads to implant failure, is difficult to treat, and causes a significant burden both economically and health-wise. Therefore, an understanding of the current trends in this infection and microbiology data is essential for preventing and treating it.

Methods

A retrospective study was conducted on 10,768 patients who underwent primary TKA at Taipei Veterans General Hospital, Taiwan, from 2002 to 2014. The incidence of post-TKA prosthetic joint infection in different time periods was investigated, and microbiological results in early- (<3 months post-TKA) and delay-onset prosthetic joint infection were analyzed.

Results

The 2 years incidence of post-TKA prosthetic joint infection was 1.93% (2002–2006), 1.05% (2007–2010), and 0.76% (2011–2014). The incidence of post-TKA prosthetic joint infection decreased significantly from 2002 to 2014. Although Staphylococcus species was most commonly isolated, a significantly higher proportion of gram-negative bacteria were isolated from early-onset compared with delay-onset post-TKA prosthetic joint infection patients: 9/29 (31.0%) versus 13/100 (13%); p = 0.023.

Conclusions

The results showed that the risk of post-TKA prosthetic joint infection is decreasing. Microbiology results showed that early-onset post-TKA prosthetic joint infection is associated with a higher risk of gram-negative bacterial infection. Physicians should be aware of this risk in order to correctly select empirical agents.  相似文献

Background

The reported associations of blood lipid profiles with asthma are ambiguous.

Objective

To explore the association between asthma and the serum levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C).

Methods

A systematic search was performed in the PubMed, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, and Chinese Biomedical Literature databases. Ten studies were identified. We divided these studies into 2 subgroups according to age: children (<18 years old) and adults (≥18 years old).

Results

In children, the asthma group had lower HDL-C levels (weighted mean difference, ?3.44; 95% confidence interval [CI], ?5.83 to ?1.04; P = .005) compared with the nonasthma group, whereas the serum levels of LDL-C in these 2 groups were not statistically different. In contrary, in adults, the asthma group had higher LDL-C levels (weighted mean difference, 8.95; 95% confidence interval, 3.55–14.35; P = .001) compared with the nonasthma group, whereas the HDL-C levels were not statistically different.

Conclusion

There is a significant association between asthma and the serum levels of HDL-C and LDL-C. Moreover, this association differs in children and adults.  相似文献

Background

Food allergies are increasingly prevalent in the pediatric population. Balancing allergen avoidance with the promotion of healthy eating behaviors can be challenging for families.

Objective

To characterize mealtime behaviors among parents of young children with food allergy.

Methods

Seventy-four parents of young children with food allergies (≤7 years of age) completed measures of mealtime behavior, perceptions of food allergy risk and severity, pediatric parenting stress, and food allergy–related quality of life. Mealtime behavior reports were compared with published data regarding typically developing children, young children with type 1 diabetes, and children with diagnosed feeding disorders (with or without related medical factors).

Results

Parents of young children with food allergies reported frequent mealtime concerns. Specifically, they reported significantly more mealtime behavioral concerns than typically developing peers, comparable mealtime behavioral concerns to young children with type 1 diabetes, and significantly fewer mealtime behavioral concerns than children with diagnosed feeding disorders. Parental mealtime concerns were positively correlated with other parent perceptions of food allergy, such as risk of allergen exposure, illness-related parenting stress, and food allergy–related quality of life.

Conclusion

Young children with food allergy and their parents are more likely to exhibit mealtime behavioral concerns than typically developing peers and their parents. Future research should investigate the effect of food allergies and maladaptive mealtime behaviors on children's nutrition to provide clinical guidelines for parents who may benefit from psychosocial and/or nutritional support.  相似文献

Objective

To describe the perspectives and experiences of athletic trainers, coaches, and student-athletes approximately three years post-implementation of the NCAA sickle cell trait (SCT) screening policy.

Participants

Two-hundred and eight student-athletes, 32 athletic trainers, and 43 coaches from 10 NCAA Division I (DI) institutions in North Carolina from January to June 2014.

Methods

Two online surveys were used to assess knowledge, perspectives, and experiences.

Results

Athletic staff were more supportive than student-athletes of the need for the policy. Noted challenges included variation in implementation and follow-up for SCT-positive athletes, financial costs to institutions and athletes, and timing of the screening.

Conclusions

More education about SCT is needed for student-athletes and athletic staff in order to help make the implementation more successful. All parties need to be in agreement regarding the importance of knowing which student-athletes have SCT and how that information will be utilized.  相似文献

Background

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection presents a significant burden, especially in the Washington, DC area. Literature is limited in describing the role of pharmacists in the outpatient clinic setting to provide patient-centered pharmaceutical care for patients with HIV.

Objective

Our study aims to describe an interdisciplinary HIV care model including a clinical pharmacist at a community-based transcultural clinic in the Washington, DC area, and to describe the role of the pharmacist as indicated by an association between non-adherence to antiretroviral therapy (ART) and an ART regimen change.

Methods

Using the electronic health record at the clinic from May 2011 through July 2013, 53 patients were identified who were referred to the clinical pharmacist.

Results

The average age of the patients with HIV was 46.57 years in the clinic. About 28% of patients had documented non-adherence to ART and 30% of patients had one or more ART regimen changes during the study period. Medication non-adherence was a significant predictor of ART regimen change (ORadj 8.44; 95% CI 1.91–37.29). Substance use was a strong predictor of ART regimen change (ORunadj 3.47; 95% CI 1.02–11.81), but the relationship disappeared in the multivariate analysis.

Conclusions

A strong association between pharmacist's evaluation of non-adherence to ART and a regimen change was demonstrated and the role of the pharmacist as the interdisciplinary team member was described. A follow-up study should be made to assess the services provided by the pharmacist on clinical, economic, and humanistic outcomes in the community-based clinical setting.  相似文献

Background

Severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, occur during oral food challenges (OFCs) and the first-line treatment of anaphylaxis is epinephrine.

Objective

To evaluate the percentage of anaphylactic reactions treated with epinephrine during OFCs and to identify associated factors for the administration of epinephrine.

Methods

Children who underwent an OFC with peanut, hazelnut, cow's milk, hen's egg, or cashew nut from 2005 through 2015 in the Netherlands were evaluated. Children with reactions meeting the criteria for anaphylaxis according to the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology guidelines for food allergy and anaphylaxis were included. Children with an anaphylactic reaction treated with vs without epinephrine were compared. Possible factors associated with the administration of epinephrine, such as age, sex, symptoms consistent with asthma, history of an allergic reaction to the tested allergen, and symptom types during the anaphylactic reaction, were evaluated using logistic regression analysis.

Results

Eighty-three children in clinical and research settings (43% boys; median age, 7 years; range, 1–17) who met the criteria for anaphylaxis were included in this study. Thirty-two of 83 children (39%) with anaphylaxis were treated with epinephrine. Respiratory symptoms during the OFC were treated significantly more often with epinephrine than gastrointestinal symptoms (P = .01).

Conclusion

Only 39% of children with anaphylaxis, according to the guideline criteria, were treated with epinephrine during the OFC and most of these children had respiratory symptoms. There is need for an easy-to-use international guideline for the treatment of allergic symptoms during OFCs.  相似文献

Background (Objectives)

The objective of the article is studying the connection of VDR gene polymorphisms with bone tissue mineral density and biochemical marker of 25-PO vitamin D in adolescents of both ethnic groups, living in Western Kazakhstan Region.

Methods

The study included 110 relatively healthy children aged 13-18 years of Aktobe, the representatives of Kazakh ethnic group e 66 (Kazakh children) and Slavonic e 44 (Russian children). The groups were formed according to BTMD data, ethnic affiliation and according to content of vitamin D and gene polymorphism of vitamin D (VDR).

Results

Genotype SS is negative marker in Kazakh adolescents of Western Kazakhstan Region for BTMD and 25-PO vitamin D; in children of Kazakh nationality with osteopathy sign, genotype SS occurs at almost twice the rate in comparison with Slavonic ethnic group and respectively by a factor of 2 less 25-PO vitamin D content.

Conclusion

Disorders of bone mineralization and metabolism depend on ethnic affiliation and presence of defined polymorphic genotypes of VDR gene molecular markers. Genotype Tt is a normal variant of gene polymorphism and is characterized by significantly less 25-PO vitamin D content in adolescents of Kazakh ethnic group, in comparison with their age mates of Slavonic ethnic group.  相似文献

Objective

To provide an overview of studies contributing to the understanding of immunologic, microbial, and epithelial interactions in atopic dermatitis.

Data Sources

PubMed literature review (2000–2017) and meeting abstracts from recent international dermatology conferences.

Articles discussing primarily human disease.

Results

Clinical studies showed that atopic dermatitis is a type 2 immune-centered disease with a systemic inflammatory component but with heterogeneous treatment responses. This suggests that other factors are likely involved in shaping the skin disease phenotype, including microbial dysbiosis and epidermal barrier dysfunction.

Conclusion

Recent clinical investigation has significantly expanded our knowledge on disease pathogenesis in atopic dermatitis, and current and future clinical trials will most likely further help to elucidate this complex, heterogeneous skin disease.  相似文献

Background

Although previous studies have investigated the association between atopy phenotypes and allergic diseases, atopy characterizations in association with the development of allergic diseases remain poorly understood.

Objective

To identify atopy phenotypes in school-age children and to evaluate the association between atopy phenotypes and allergic diseases.

Methods

We enrolled 616 children with atopy defined as 1 or more positive allergen responses on skin prick tests and 665 children without atopy from the Children's Health and Environmental Research (CHEER) study. All children were followed up for 4 years at 2-year intervals. Atopy phenotypes were classified using latent class analysis.

Results

Four atopy phenotypes were characterized: later sensitization to indoor allergens (cluster 1); multiple early sensitization (cluster 2); early sensitization to outdoor allergens, especially Alternaria, and later sensitization to indoor allergens, including Aspergillus (cluster 3); and early sensitization to indoor allergens and later sensitization to outdoor allergens (cluster 4). New cases of asthma during follow-up were increased in clusters 2 and 3 (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 2.76 and 4.25, respectively). The risk of new-onset bronchial hyperresponsiveness was highest in cluster 3 (aOR, 5.03). Clusters 2 and 4 had an increased risk of allergic rhinitis (aOR, 7.21 and 2.37, respectively).

Conclusion

Identification of atopy phenotypes facilitates prediction of the development of asthma and bronchial hyperresponsiveness in school-age children. Our study suggests prevention of additional sensitization is required to modify the progression of allergic diseases.  相似文献

Background

Invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) was associated with mortality, but the risk factors associated with mortality remains controversial.

Methods

A retrospective cohort study was designed. All patients with IPD from 2011 to 2013 admitted in a medical center were screened and collected for their clinical presentations and laboratory characteristics.

Results

Approximately half of the 134 IPD isolates derived from these patients belonged to three major serotypes (19A, 6A and 3), which are included in 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13), but not in 7-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV7). Ceftriaxone resistance according to non-meningitis criteria was identified in 38% of the IPD isolates, and was the major independent risk factor associated with inappropriate initial therapy that subsequently contributed to mortality of the patients. Infection by serotype 6A, 15B, 19A, 19F, or 23F was the major independent risk factor associated with ceftriaxone resistance (non-meningitis criteria). 77.6% of these isolates belonged to additional PCV13 serotypes, with more than 40% expressing resistance to ceftriaxone. In terms of serotype coverage, PCV13 covered 94.1% of the IPD isolates with ceftriaxone resistance, in comparison to 21.6% only by PCV7.

Conclusions

The increase of ceftriaxone resistance in pneumococci in part driven by PCV7 vaccination in Taiwan is worrisome. The use of PCV13 in children as well as in the elderly population is likely to offer protection from the infection caused by ceftriaxone-resistant pneumococci. It is important to give an effective drug such as penicillin, fluoroquinolones or vancomycin in 2 days for improving outcome of IPD patients.  相似文献

Background

Egg oral immunotherapy is effective but time consuming.

Objective

To assess the efficacy and safety of egg rush oral immunotherapy (ROIT) with a targeted dose equivalent to a raw egg white.

Methods

Thirty-three persistent egg allergic children confirmed by double-blind, placebo-controlled food challenge (DBPCFC) were randomized to receive egg ROIT immediately after randomization (ROIT1 group), or to continue an egg avoidance diet for 5 months after randomization (control group [CG]). A 5-day build-up phase starting with the highest single tolerated dose at baseline DBPCFC was scheduled and several doses administered daily until achieving a dose of approximately 2,808 mg of egg white protein. In the maintenance phase, patients ate an undercooked egg every 48 hours for 5 months. The CG participants who failed the DBPCFC at 5 months began active treatment. Children from the ROIT1 group plus children from the CG who failed a second DBPCFC at 5 months and then received egg ROIT were randomized to the ROIT2 group. Adverse events (AEs) and immune marker evolution were recorded.

Results

A total of 17 (89%) of 19 children in the ROIT1 group and no CG patients were desensitized at 5 months (P < .001). A total of 31 (97%) of the 32 children in the ROIT2 group completed the build-up phase in a median of 3 days (range, 1–14 days), and 30 (94%) of 32 maintained desensitization at 5 months. From baseline to 5 months of treatment, skin prick test, specific IgE, and specific IgE/IgG4 ratio to egg fractions significantly decreased, whereas specific IgG4 increased. During the build-up phase, AEs occurred in 69% of patients (50% had ≤2 AEs) and 31% of doses (2% severe, 55% gastrointestinal). Lower threshold dose in the DBPCFC and higher egg white and ovalbumin specific IgE levels at baseline revealed an association with a higher rate of AEs.

Conclusion

The proposed 5-day egg ROIT desensitized 94% of the allergic patients, with most AEs being mild or moderate.  相似文献

Background/Purpose

To present clinical and laboratory features, treatment options, and outcome in patients with brucellar testicular infection and to compare them with analogous in brucellar patients without testicular involvement.

Methods

Thirty four brucellar patients with testicular infection treated in two general hospitals in the Republic of Macedonia, during the period 1998–2009, were retrospectively analyzed. Their clinical and laboratory characteristics were compared with analogous in 364 male brucellar patients without testicular infection, who were treated at the same hospitals during the same time period.

Results

Brucellar testicular infection was evident in 34 (8.5%) out of 398 male patients with brucellosis. The median age of the patients was 46.5 years. In all patients testicular involvement was presented as an acute form with a median duration of 5 days (range, 2–14 days) prior to diagnosis. Twenty-three of the patients had at least one other simultaneous focal infection. After starting with the treatment testicular infection lasted a median 10 days, range 7–21 days. Brucellar patients with testicular infection when compared with other brucellar patients more frequently manifested fever (97% vs. 61%), concomitant spondylitis (32% vs. 16%), and urinary system involvement (12% vs. 2%). Also, the relapse rate in patients with testicular involvement was significantly higher (24% vs. 9%).

Conclusion

In endemic regions brucellosis should be taken into consideration in any patient with testicular infection. Brucellar testicular involvement is usually characterized with a severe acute clinical presentation and a high percentage of relapses which entails the need of timely recognition and proper treatment duration of at least 60 days.  相似文献

Background

Little is known about the joint effects of maternal asthma and maternal depression on childhood asthma.

Objective

To examine whether maternal depression and maternal asthma lead to greater risk of childhood asthma than maternal asthma alone.

Methods

Cross-sectional studies of children (6–14 years old) in San Juan, Puerto Rico (n = 655) and Sweden (n = 6,887) were conducted. In Puerto Rico, maternal depressive symptoms were defined using the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) questionnaire. In Sweden, maternal physician-diagnosed depression was derived from national registries, and maternal depressive symptoms were defined using an abbreviated CES-D questionnaire. Childhood asthma was defined as physician-diagnosed asthma plus current wheeze (in Puerto Rico) or plus medication use (in Sweden). Logistic regression was used for multivariable analysis.

Results

Compared with Puerto Rican children whose mothers had neither asthma nor depressive symptoms, those whose mothers had asthma but no depressive symptoms had 3.2 times increased odds of asthma (95% confidence interval [CI] = 2.1–4.8) and those whose mothers had asthma and depressive symptoms had 6.5 times increased odds of asthma (95% CI = 3.3–13.0). Similar results were obtained for maternal depression and maternal asthma in the Swedish cohort (odds ratio for maternal asthma without maternal depression = 2.8, 95% CI = 2.1–3.7; odds ratio for maternal asthma and maternal depression = 4.0, 95% CI = 1.7–9.6). Although the estimated effect of maternal asthma on childhood asthma was increased when maternal depressive symptoms (Puerto Rico) or maternal depression (Sweden) was present, there were no statistically significant additive interactions.

Conclusion

Maternal depression can further increase the risk of asthma in children whose mothers have a history of asthma.  相似文献

Background

Streptococcus pneumoniae serotype 19A ST320, a highly multiresistant and virulent clone, has emerged as a common pathogen causing acute otitis media (AOM) in children.

Methods

Patients aged 0–18 years with AOM who presented at Mackay Memorial Hospital, Taipei, Taiwan were prospectively enrolled between December 1, 2009, and November 30, 2012. For each patient, a specimen of middle-ear fluid was obtained and cultured. S. pneumoniae isolates were tested by serotyping, antibiotic-resistance profiling, and multilocus sequence typing. Demographic characteristics and clinical history of patients with pneumococcal AOM were recorded.

Results

Pneumococcal AOM was observed in 108 (24.8%) of 436 episodes. One hundred and four isolates of S. pneumoniae were available for study. The most common serotypes were 19A (67 isolates, 64.4%), followed by 19F (16 isolates, 15.4%), and 3 (7 isolates, 6.7%). Among the 85 sequence-typed isolates, Serotype 19A ST320 (50, 58.8%) was the most frequent. Children with AOM caused by Serotype 19A ST320 were younger (33.9 ± 21.4 months vs. 46.7 ± 35.9 months, p = 0.04) and had a higher rate of spontaneous rupture of the tympanic membrane (64.0% vs. 40%, p = 0.05) than those caused by isolates of other sequence types. Serotype 19A ST320 caused 90% of AOM episodes in children aged ≤ 12 months and had had higher resistance rates to penicillin according to meningeal breakpoints (p = 0.011), amoxicillin (p < 0.001) and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazol (p < 0.001).

Conclusions

It is better to use pneumococcal conjugate vaccine effective against Serotype 19A in early infancy to prevent the first and subsequent episodes of AOM in children in Taiwan.  相似文献

Background

There are few direct data concerning symptom dynamics of allergic conjunctivitis (AC) in an allergen challenge chamber (ACC).

Objective

To determine the AC dynamics on subsequent exposures to ragweed pollen (RW) in individuals with allergic rhinitis in an ACC. To determine whether consecutive exposures in an ACC have any persistent detrimental ocular physical effects.

Methods

Participants underwent 3 exposures to RW in an ACC. Ocular symptoms of itching and tearing were self-assessed. Ocular redness and lid swelling were assessed by trained ophthalmic technicians. Complete ophthalmic examinations (COEs) were performed by an ophthalmologist.

Results

A total of 188 of 201 participants (93%) developed an ocular redness score of 2 or more in each eye in ACC exposure 1. Reproducibility of redness occurred in approximately 70% of individuals completing ACC exposures 1 through 3. There were no significant changes between baseline COE and end of study COE. Phenotypes were identified by redness responses during and after exposure. Baseline total ocular symptom scores, at 24 hours after a priming exposure, were identified as late-phase reactions rather than enhanced sensitivity.

Conclusion

When assessed by trained professionals, AC was present with a very high frequency in selected individuals allergic to RW monitored in an ACC. Intrasubject reproducibility of redness was consistent across 3 ACC allergen exposures. Phenotypes were identified as early-phase responses, protracted early-phase responses, dual responses, and late-phase responses.

Background

Active tuberculosis (TB) in patients with latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) was associated with use of biological agents for immune-mediated inflammatory disorders (IMIDs). For decreasing active TB, isoniazid prophylaxis therapy was administered before biologic therapy among IMID patients with LTBI. However, for patients who had been received biologics for a long time with unknown status of LTBI or exposure history of active TB, the prevalence of LTBI and efficacy of isoniazid therapy were unclear.

Method

A retrospective cohort study was conducted during 2012–2014 in a tertiary medical center in Taiwan, and the incidence case of active TB was identified by the national TB registration system on October 1, 2015.

Results

All 382 patients with 1532 person-years were followed up, the initial prevalence of LTBI by positive interferon-gamma releasing assay (IGRA+) was 17.5%. The prevalence of LTBI was increased in elder age (>20%, p < 0.05), chronic kidney disease (33%, p < 0.05), metabolic syndrome (26.3%, p < 0.05), but not related to the type of IMIDs or biologics. The crude incidences of TB were increased in elders (53.3/1000 person-year), abnormal chest film (49.6/1000 person-year), administration of tocilizumab (13.6/1000 person-year), and metabolic syndrome (56.1/1000 person-year), respectively. Among patents with LTBI, the incidence of active TB was lower in patients with isoniazid therapy (9.2/1000 person-year, p = 0.02) than without isoniazid therapy (92.2/1000 person-years), regardless the timing of initiating isoniazid therapy (p > 0.05).

Conclusion

Isoniazid therapy can prevent active TB from LTBI despite of the timing of biologics administration.  相似文献

Objective

To examine associations between self-assessed language ability and provision of clinical care without professional interpretation.

Methods

We conducted an anonymous web-based survey of pediatric residents at a large pediatric training program. Respondents self-rated their language ability, and then reported on their willingness to deliver clinical care without professional interpretation in standardized clinical scenarios.

Results

All pediatric residents completed the survey (n=81; 100%). Many residents (58 of the total sample) indicated at least rudimentary skills in a second language, and seven (9%) indicated they were proficient in Spanish. Eight-five percent had sometimes relied upon friends or family to communicate with parents. Most (69%) reported occasional use of Spanish-language skills to take a history or provide medical advice without the use of a professional interpreter. In contrast, in clinical scenarios where a child was believed to have a complex medical history, few residents (2.5%) felt comfortable using their language skills in the clinical encounter. Residents were willing to have their language ability assessed.

Conclusions

Residents still face circumstances in which care proceeds without an interpreter. Discomfort with providing care in a second language grows with the perceived complexity of care, and yet a complex condition may not be apparent when communication barriers exist. Overcoming barriers to the use of professional interpretation may improve care for LEP children.  相似文献
