Both the amount of force applied and the duration of the application affect tooth movement. To study the effect of duration, adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were fitted with orthodontic appliances delivering a 40-gm initial mesial tipping force to the maxillary molars. The animals were divided into two longitudinal groups (I: 1 hour and II: 24 hours; N = 15). Sham-treated control (III) and 14 day (IV) continuous cross-sectional force tooth movement data were also included for comparison (72 rats per group). Extraoral cephalometric radiographs were obtained at appliance placement and at 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, & 14 days. Tooth movement was determined with respect to palatal implants. ANOVA indicated significant differences existed over time in each group (p = 0.0001). Continuous force applied for 14 days generated a classic three-part tooth movement curve. Short-term forces were characterized by initial mesial movement, a distal relapse period (d3-d5), and a late mesial movement period (d7-d14). The results suggest short-term forces of 1 and 24 hours initiate remodeling events, which result in tooth movement 7 to 14 days later and that the minimum effective duration of a 40-gm activation is less than 1 hour in this animal model.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To examine the mechanical properties and the usefulness of titanium-niobium-aluminum (Ti-Nb-Al) wire in orthodontic tooth movement as compared with nickel-titanium (Ni-Ti) wire. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The load deflection of expansion springs was gauged with an original jig. The gradient of the superelastic region was measured during the unloading process. Expansion springs comprising the two types of alloy wires were applied to upper first molars of rats. The distance between the first molars was measured with micrometer calipers. RESULTS: The force magnitude of the Ti-Nb-Al expansion spring was lower than that of the Ni-Ti expansion spring over the entire deflection range. The initial force magnitude and the gradient in the superelastic region of the Ti-Nb-Al expansion springs were half those of the Ni-Ti expansion springs. Thus, Ti-Nb-Al expansion springs generated lighter and more continuous force. Tooth movement in the Ni-Ti group proceeded in a stepwise fashion. On the other hand, tooth movement in the Ti-Nb-Al group showed relatively smooth and continuous progression. At 17 days after insertion of expansion springs, there were no significant differences between the Ti-Nb-Al and Ni-Ti groups in the amount of tooth movement. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicate that Ti-Nb-Al wire has excellent mechanical properties for smooth, continuous tooth movement and suggest that Ti-Nb-Al wire may be used as a practical nickel-free shape memory and superelastic alloy wire for orthodontic treatment as a substitute for Ni-Ti wire.  相似文献

A single orthodontic activation lasting one hour can initiate tooth movement. The purpose of this study is to examine tooth movement, osteoclasts, and root resorption in rats following several one-hour activations. Rats (n = 144) were randomly assigned to intermittent (multiple activations of 1 hr/day), continuous, and sham appliances. Twelve rats were killed at 3, 5, 7, and 14 days. Tooth movement, osteoclasts, osteoclast %, and root resorption % were quantified. Continuous force moved molars mesially at days 3 and 14 (p < 0.05), but intermittent and sham did not. Intermittent and continuous force increased osteoclast numbers at days 3, 5, and 7 (p < 0.05). Continuous force increased osteoclast surface on days 3 and 14 (p < 0.05). Continuous force increased root resorption at days 5, 7, and 14 (p < 0.05). These results demonstrate that orthodontic force for one hour in 24 stimulates osteoclasts at compression sites but does not stimulate tooth movement or root resorption.  相似文献

目的:了解不同矫治力作用下大鼠牙齿移动距离及牙根吸收情况,探索应用Micro?CT研究正畸牙齿移动过程中矫治力对牙根吸收的影响。方法10周龄健康雄性SD大鼠64只(220~270 g),分别施以10 g (10 g力组)、30 g力(130 g力组)拉右侧上颌第一磨牙向近中移动建立实验动物模型,以对侧同名牙为对照牙。于加力后第3、7、14、28天处死动物,使用Micro?CT扫描上颌第一磨牙及周围牙槽骨,测量上颌第一磨牙近中移动距离,计算加力28 d上颌第一磨牙近中根的表面凹陷体积,进行统计学分析。结果加力后发生牙齿移动,10 g力组在加力14 d内,牙齿移动量小于30 g力组(P =0.039),在加力28 d时大于30 g力组(P<0.05)。加力28 d,10 g力组、30 g力组的牙根表面凹陷总体积高于对照组(P=0.004),30 g力组产生的牙根表面凹陷总体积高于10 g力组(P<0.001)。结论 Micro?CT可以对牙齿移动及牙根吸收进行可靠评价及量化分析。加力后28 d,10 g力组移动量较30 g力组大,相应产生牙根吸收较30 g力组少。  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to investigate whether there are any differences in tooth movement or in the response of periodontal tissue to orthodontic force when the force is applied at different times of the day. One hundred 6-week-old male Wistar rats were divided into one control group without force application and three experimental groups based on the time of day the force was applied to the upper first molars. Animals in the whole-day group received force continuously throughout the experimental period, while animals in the light- and dark-period groups received force only during the light (07:00-19:00) or dark period (19:00-07:00), respectively. Tooth movement was measured using the occlusal view of a precise plaster model with a profile projector. Periodontal tissues were evaluated histologically. The time course of tooth movement varied among the groups. Tooth movement over 21 days in the whole-day and light-period groups was about twice that as in the dark-period group. The formation of new bone on the tension side in the whole-day and light-period groups was more than twice that as in the dark-period group. On the pressure side, more osteoclasts appeared on the alveolar bone in the whole-day and light-period groups than in the dark-period group. The light-period group showed less extensive hyalinization of the periodontal ligament (PDL) than the whole-day group. The area of root resorption on day 21 also varied among the groups. Interference by masticatory forces did not seem to be a principal cause of the decreased tooth movement in the dark-period group. These results indicate that there are considerable variations in tooth movement and in the response of periodontal tissue to orthodontic force when the force is applied at different times of the day in rats. The results suggest that diurnal rhythms in bone metabolism have important implications in orthodontic treatment.  相似文献

Objectives:To investigate the effects of light and heavy forces with corticotomy on tooth movement rate, alveolar bone response, and root resorption in a rat model.Materials and Methods:The right and left sides of 40 male Wistar rats were randomly assigned using the split-mouth design to two groups: light force with corticotomy (LF) and heavy force with corticotomy (HF). Tooth movement was performed on the maxillary first molars using a nickel-titanium closed-coil spring delivering either 10 g (light force) or 50 g (heavy force). Tooth movement and alveolar bone response were assessed by micro–computed tomography (micro-CT) at day 0 as the baseline and on days 7, 14, 21, and 28. Root resorption was examined by histomorphometric analysis at day 28.Results:Micro-CT analysis showed a significantly greater tooth movement in the HF group at days 7 and 14 but no difference in bone volume fraction at any of the observed periods. Histomorphometric analysis found no significant difference in root resorption between the LF and HF groups at day 28.Conclusions:Heavy force with corticotomy increased tooth movement at days 7 and 14 but did not show any difference in alveolar bone change or root resorption.  相似文献

Objective:To investigate differences in the amount of tooth movement and root resorption that occurred after tipping and bodily movement of the maxillary first molar in rats.Materials and Methods:Ten-week-old female Wistar rats were divided into two groups according to type of tooth movement and subdivided into four subgroups according to the magnitude of applied force. Nickel-titanium closed-coil springs exerting forces of 10, 25, 50, or 100 g were applied to the maxillary left first molars to induce mesial tooth movement. We designed a novel orthodontic appliance for bodily tooth movement. Tooth movement distance and root resorption were measured using microcomputed tomography and scanning electron and scanning laser microscopy.Results:The amount of tooth movement in the bodily tooth movement group was less than half that in the tipping tooth movement group. The greatest amount of tooth movement occurred in the 10-g tipping and 50-g bodily tooth movement subgroups, and the amount of tooth movement decreased with the application of an excessive magnitude of force. Conversely, root resorption increased when the heavier orthodontic force was applied in both groups. Root resorption in the tipping tooth movement group was approximately twice that in the bodily tooth movement group.Conclusions:Root resorption in the tipping tooth movement group was more pronounced than that in the bodily tooth movement group. Although the amount of tooth movement decreased when extremely heavy forces were applied, root resorption increased in both the tipping and bodily tooth movement groups in rats.  相似文献

目的研究局部注射不同浓度重组人类可溶性受体对大鼠正畸牙移动进程的影响,了解其在牙周局部发挥作用的最小有效浓度范围。方法选取52只雄性SD大鼠,随机分为四组,用螺旋拉簧牵引大鼠左上第一磨牙近中移动,实验组第一天起局部分别注射不同浓度的重组人类可溶性IL-1和TNF受体,14天后测量磨牙移动距离,并制作切片进行HE及TRAP染色分析。结果与对照组相比,各受体组浓度为4ug/ml、0.8ug/ml、0.16ug/ml小组磨牙移动距离均大幅度减少(P〈0.01),牙槽骨表面及牙根表面TRAP染色阳性细胞数量也明显减少(P〈0.01),而浓度为0.032ug/ml小组却没有统计学意义(P〉0.05),且各受体组相同浓度小组问差异无统计学意义(P〉0.05)。结论在大鼠正畸牙局部注射重组人类可溶性受体发挥作用的最小有效浓度范围为0.032ug/ml-0.16ug/ml。  相似文献

目的观察局部注射阿仑膦酸钠对大鼠正畸牙移动及牙周组织的影响。方法32只Wistar大鼠分为对照组和低剂量、中剂量、高剂量三个实验组,使用40g力牵其左侧上颌第一磨牙近中移动,实验中分别将生理盐水、0.02mmol/L、0.1mmol/L、0.5mmol/L的阿仑膦酸钠溶液注射入各组大鼠上颌第一磨牙近中腭侧的粘骨膜下,注射于实验前3d开始,每3天一次,每次50μl。分别在0、1、3、7、14、17、21d时取模法测量大鼠牙移动量。第21天取上颌组织块经固定、脱钙、脱水、包埋后切片,HE染色观察牙周组织变化,TRAP染色观察压力区破骨细胞数、破牙骨质细胞数,比较各组间是否有差异。结果①各实验组大鼠第一磨牙移动距离显著低于对照组,并随药物浓度增高其抑制效果增强。②实验组压力区破骨细胞数和破牙骨质细胞数显著低于对照组。结论局部注射不同浓度阿仑膦酸钠能获得不同的抑制牙齿移动的效果,可应用于临床中作为一种增强支抗的手段。  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To examine the effects of gradually increasing force generated by permanent rare earth magnets for orthodontic tooth movement by using a novel experimental rat model and computer simulation. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Fifty-five male rats (age 18 weeks) were used as animal experiments. Magnetic (experimental groups) or titanium (control group) cuboids (1.5 x 1.5 x 0.7 mm) were bonded to the lingual surface of the maxillary first molars. The initial distance between materials was 1.0 mm, generating 4.96 gf (experimental group I), or 1.5 mm, generating 2.26 gf (experimental group II). Tooth movement was measured and periodontal structures were observed with microfocus x-ray computed tomography radiographs. RESULTS: The distance between the magnets decreased with time in experimental groups I and II (P < .001), whereas there was no tooth displacement in the control group. Experimental group I showed rapid tooth movement in the initial phase followed by slower tooth movement. Experimental group II showed gradual tooth movement. Horizontal sections on microfocus computed tomgraphy radiographs revealed no pathological changes, such as root resorption, on the compressed side in the experimental groups. CONCLUSIONS: The initial light force and gradual increasing force in magnetic attractive force induced effective tooth movement in rats without inducing any pathological changes.  相似文献

Clinical experience suggests that successful orthodontic tooth movement can be produced with a threshold for force duration at about 6 hours, however, the changes in the periodontal ligaments (PDL) during this period is still unclear. Nitric oxide (NO) is a marker of signal transduction relating to bone remodeling. The aim of this study was to observe the initial response of NO synthase (NOS) when PDL equilibrium would be broken against light continuous orthodontic force. Rat maxillary first molars were moved mesially with 2 gf Titanium-Nickel closed coil springs for 1, 3 and 6 hours. The number of NADPH-diaphorase positive cells in PDL was counted for investigating NOS activity. At the control group, NOS activity in the distal area of the PDL was significantly higher than that of the mesial area (P<0.001). The activity of mesial area increased at 1-hour group (P<0.01), while the activity of distal area dropped down at 3- and 6-hour groups (P 3-hour<0.05, P 6-hour<0.001), compared with the control group. These results suggest that 1-3 hours would be the threshold of force duration for tooth movement with light continuous force.  相似文献

This study evaluated pulp changes in molars of rats submitted to tooth movement by application of a 0.4 N force. Twenty-five adult male Wistar rats (Rattus norvegicus, albinus) were randomly assigned to 5 groups (n=5), being one control group not submitted to force application, and four study groups of 6, 12, 24 and 72 h of force application. The study groups received a 5-mm long nickel-titanium closed coil spring, placed from the right maxillary first molar to the maxillary incisors of each animal. The coil spring was used for mesial inclination of the first molar. After the specific period of tooth movement of each study group, the animals were sacrificed and specimens containing the teeth submitted to movement were processed and stained with hematoxylin and eosin for histological analysis under light microscopy. The results demonstrated alteration of the odontoblastic layer, with hypertrophy of odontoblasts especially at the mesial area of the coronal pulp, edema of the pulp connective tissue in the central area of the pulp, and vascular alteration with accumulation of erythrocytes and leukocytes inside the vessels, especially at the mesial root of the moved teeth. These changes were less remarkable for the 72-h period. Thus, it may be concluded that tooth movement yielded pulpal tissue alterations compatible with an inflammatory process, which are reversible if the aggression is not more intense than the physiological limit of tissue tolerance.  相似文献

目的 本研究通过对拔牙创的骨改建进程及矫治力对牙齿移动的影响进行研究,为临床医生选择理想的矫治力和牙齿移动时机,缩短矫治时间提供依据。方法 取SD大鼠36只,随机分为3组,全麻下拔除一侧上颌第一磨牙,3月后拔除另一侧上颌第一磨牙。在拔牙后不同的时间制作口内矫治器,分别以0·30、0·60、1·36 N的力牵上颌第二磨牙向拔牙区移动,分别在施力前及施力后的第1、3、5、7、10、14天拍摄X线片,利用图像处理技术, 测量牙齿移动距离,以置入的拔髓针校正放大率。结果 ①牙齿向新鲜拔牙区移动的速度明显大于向已愈合拔牙区移动的速度。②无论向新鲜拔牙区移动还是向已经愈合的拔牙区移动,0·30 N力组牙齿移动的距离在各时间点与0·60 N、1·36 N力组牙齿移动的距离之间存在显著的统计学差异;而0·60 N与1·36 N力组牙齿移动的距离之间基本上从第5天开始差别不大。③加力后牙齿移动周期一般包括三个阶段:瞬时运动;迟滞期;后期移动阶段。大约在第14天时,由于矫治力衰减,牙齿停止移动。结论 ①牙齿向新鲜拔牙区移动速度快,而向已经愈合的拔牙区移动速度慢。②在矫治过程中,中等力较为合适;即使使用较大的力,也不一定引起较大的牙齿移动。  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: To test the hypothesis that there is no difference in the effect of different continuous moderate to very heavy forces on root resorption or amount of tooth movement. MATERIALS AND METHODS: In the study, 10, 25, 50 and 100 g mesial force were applied to the maxillary first molars of rat using nickel titanium closed-coil springs for 3 days, 14 days, and 28 days. The molars were extracted and the surface areas of the root resorption craters were measured using scanning electron microscope. The depths of the root resorption craters were measured using a three-dimensional laser scanning microscope. Tooth movement of the maxillary first molar was measured in relation to the maxillary second molar on digitized lateral cephalometric radiographs. RESULTS: Three days after force application, the tooth movement was not proportionally related to force magnitude. However, 14 days of force application resulted in significantly more tooth movement in the 10, 25, and 50 g force groups than in the 100 g force group. A force application of 10 g produced significantly more tooth movement at 28 days than all the other three force applications. The largest and deepest resorption craters were observed in the disto-buccal root followed by disto-palatal, middle-buccal, middle-palatal, and mesial root. Root resorption and tooth movement increased over time from 3 to 28 days. As heavier forces were applied, greater root resorption occurred. CONCLUSION: The hypothesis is rejected. The light mesially oriented forces, as applied in this study, produced more tooth movement and less root resorption compared with heavier forces.  相似文献

目的比较分析螺旋弹簧与橡皮链远牵尖牙的力学性能,以助提高临床疗效。方法,第一部分为体外模拟实验,应用CH-0-1型齿科正畸测量仪对5mm长的螺旋弹簧及三个圈长的橡皮链进行拉伸实验至于150克,比较再会得在人工唾液中不同时期不同位移时力值衰减程度的力学性能。第二部分为临床应用研究。结果在模拟口腔环境及尖牙移动的相同实验条件下,螺旋弹簧在28天内力值衰减明显低于橡皮链,前者衰减2.9%,后者衰减42.8%,在150克初始正畸力作用下,螺旋弹簧远牵尖牙的速率快于橡皮链。结论螺旋弹簧的力学性能优于橡皮链,力值越持续,越适宜牙齿移动,力的持续时间是决定牙齿移动速率的重要因素。  相似文献

目的 研究灌服川续断水煎液对大鼠正畸牙移动的影响。方法 选择48只SPF级Wistar大鼠,随机分2组,每组24只,于上颌一侧第一磨牙与上切牙之间结扎正畸螺旋弹簧,建立大鼠正畸牙齿移动实验模型。实验组每日灌服6g/kg川续断水煎液;对照组每日灌服3ml生理盐水。两组动物于正畸加力7、14、21、28d后分批处死,取上颌磨牙及牙周组织,测量上颌第一磨牙近中移动距离并行统计学分析。结果 正畸加力7d,实验组大鼠第一磨牙近中移动距离与对照组无统计学差异(P>0.05)。正畸加力14、21、28d,实验组大鼠第一磨牙近中移动距离明显大于对照组(P<0.05)。结论 川续断能够加速正畸牙齿的移动速度。  相似文献

目的通过建立偏侧咀嚼大鼠模型,探讨偏侧咀嚼对正畸牙移动过程的影响。方法选择30只6~8周龄,(250±10)g,雄性SD大鼠,随机分为实验组与对照组,每组各15只。通过拔除实验组大鼠右下颌所有磨牙使右上颌第一磨牙丧失咬合接触建立大鼠偏侧咀嚼动物模型,同时,在两组大鼠双侧上颌切牙和第一磨牙间放置镍钛拉簧,初始力值为50g,近中移动磨牙。分别于第0、3、7、10、14天测量大鼠上颌第一磨牙近中移动的距离并通过HE染色观察大鼠上颌第一磨牙牙周组织形态学变化。结果各时间点代偿性咀嚼增强侧牙移动速率均小于对照组(P〈0.05),牙周组织变化与对照组相似;失咬合侧牙移动速率大于对照组(P〈0.05),牙周组织出现退行性改变;但三种咬合状态下牙齿移动速率曲线均表现为瞬时运动、迟滞期及后期移动三个阶段。结论动物实验证实偏侧咀嚼引起正畸牙牙周组织发生相应改变最终影响牙移动速率,但无论牙移动速率快慢,牙移动均符合正畸性牙移动的一般规律。  相似文献

This study was conducted to investigate the influence of dietary n-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid on experimental tooth movement. This acid substantially reduces the production of arachidonic acid. Sixty 4-week-old male Wistar strain rats were divided into experimental and control groups. Animals in the experimental group were fed a purified diet containing 10% refined fish oil (rich in n-3 fatty acid); control animals were fed a diet containing 10% corn oil (rich in n-6 fatty acid). After 6 weeks, the maxillary first molars were moved buccally with an initial force of 20 g for periods of 0, 3, 7, or 14 days. Tooth movement in the experimental group was 80% of that seen in the controls. The number of osteoclasts on the pressure side during tooth movement was nearly 60% of that seen in controls, and the degree of bone resorption was 80%. The data suggest that a diet enriched with fish oil reduces osteoclastic activity and subsequent alveolar bone resorption that is the key to experimental tooth movement.  相似文献

Local and chronic application of PTH accelerates tooth movement in rats   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We previously reported that whereas systemic continuous infusion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) accelerated orthodontic tooth movement, systemic but intermittent injection of PTH did not increase the rate of tooth movement. Analysis of these data suggested that continuous administration of PTH could be applicable for orthodontic therapy. In the present study, we investigated whether local and chronic application of PTH(1-34) would accelerate orthodontic tooth movement. To increase the residence time of PTH in the injected area, we used methylcellulose (MC) gel (2% W/V) for a slow-release formulation of PTH. MC gel containing PTH (PTH-MC) continuously released biologically active PTH into the acceptor medium for more than 72 hrs in vitro. When male rats received a local injection of PTH-MC into the subperiosteum in the mesio-palatal region of the maxillary first molar (M1) every other day, M1 movement, which was mesially drawn by an orthodontic coil spring attached to the maxillary incisors, was accelerated in a dose-dependent manner. PTH-MC injection at 1 microg/400 g body weight caused a 1.6-fold increase in the rate of tooth movement. The acceleration of tooth movement by PTH-MC injection was marked on days 6, 9, and 12. Local injection of PTH dissolved in saline without MC did not significantly accelerate tooth movement on day 6 or later. Histological examination revealed active osteoclastic bone resorption and a widened periodontal space on the compression side of the periodontal tissue in the PTH-MC-injected rats. These results suggest that local injection of PTH in a slow-release formulation is applicable to orthodontic therapy.  相似文献

目的 探讨局部注射Zoledronate溶液对鼠正畸牙齿移动距离与牙周组织形态的影响。方法 选用42只雄性Wistar大鼠,牵引其上颌第一磨牙近中移动。实验中分别将Zoledronate溶液及生理盐水注射入实验组(左侧)及对照组大鼠(双侧)上颌第一磨牙腭侧的粘骨膜下。注射于实验前3d开始,共进行9次,每3d一次。分别在加力0、3、7、14、21d后记录上颌第一磨牙移动距离,组织HE染色后,观察牙周组织形态学的改变。结果 ①实验组大鼠牙齿移动距离明显低于对照组。②实验组大鼠压力侧破骨细胞数在实验全过程中均低于对照组,而根分叉区破牙骨质细胞数除加力14d外,2组差异无显著性。③实验过程中Zoledronate溶液对破骨细胞和破牙骨质细胞以外的细胞作用不明显。结论 Zoledronate能有效地抑制支抗牙移动,减少压力侧牙槽骨表面破骨细胞数。  相似文献
