NP方案治疗晚期乳腺癌34例临床观察

自2001年4月～2003年2月，我们采用由中国医科大学和连云港豪森制药有限公司联合研制开发的重酒石酸长春瑞滨注射液，商品名“盖诺”，联合顺铂（NP方案）治疗晚期乳腺癌3-4例，现将结果报告如下。     

The emerging role of the physician in genetic counselling and testing for heritable breast, ovarian and colon cancer.

As a genetic testing for susceptibility to breast, ovarian and colon cancer becomes more readily available, physicians are faced with an increasing demand for information about inherited cancer risk. Because advances in treatment have not kept pace with advances in predictive testing, the provision of genetic counselling and testing marks a departure from the traditional role of the physician. A systematic framework is needed within which the physician's emerging role in predictive testing for heritable cancer can be delineated. The development of such a framework will require collaboration among professionals in a range of scientific disciplines, as well as the suspension of traditional assumptions about the physicians role.     

Arthritis in childhood. A report on 65 consecutive cases observed at the University Hospital of the West Indies

In a two-year period (October 1985 - September 1987), 65 children presented to the Child Health department and/or rheumatology clinic at the University Hospital with arthritis. Eighteen children (28%) had Juvenile Chronic Arthritis, ten (15%) rheumatic fever, eight (12%) systemic lupus erythematosus and thirteen (20%) had self-limiting arthritis. Systemic onset of Juvenile Chronic Arthritis occurred only in one child; nine children had polyarticular and eight pauci-articular onset of disease. The self-limiting arthritis was difficult to differentiate from Juvenile Chronic Arthritis; therefore serological testing for bacterial and viral infections should be performed before anti-rheumatic therapy is undertaken. Arthritis in childhood is not uncommon in Jamaica. However, the outcome appears to be generally favorable except in a few cases of Juvenile Chronic Arthritis.     

The Place for Paediatricians: Based on the "Victor Neale Memorial Lecture" Given at the Meeting of the S.W. Paediatric Club,April 1991

Professor Victor Neale was a leading paediatrician and respected teacher at a time when the specialty was growing rapidly and employing new professional skills, knowledge and attitudes. The benefits of these developments might be more fully realized by the establishment of a college of Paediatricians. But the consequential loss of affinity with the general medicine of adults and the Royal Colleges of Physicians could weaken the power of the medical profession to maintain the highest standards of medical practice.
