| Abstract: | The 98 non-sorbitol-fermenting (NSF) Escherichia coli O157:H7 strains identified on a Nissui glucose fermentative gram-negative rod identification system (EB-20) gave a unique biochemical profile number that was not detected in 85 pathogenic and 13 nonpathogenic E. coli strains. Thus, EB-20 is useful for the identification of NSF E. coli O157:H7 and provides a simple, cost-effective, and reliable tool for clinical laboratories. |
