| Abstract: | OBJECTIVE To monitor the air-borne allergenic pollens in Beijing urban areas in spring and to speculate the relationship between them and allergic disease.METHODS Daily airborne pollen monitoring was performed by gravitational method in spring in Beijing.The number of patients with allergic rhinitis(AR),allergic conjunctivitis(AC)or allergic asthma(AA)who visited the outpatient department of Allergy.And the visiting rate of patients of each disease was calculated respectively.RESULTS 1.The dominant airborne pollens were Cupressaceae pollen(50%),Populus pollen(13%)and Ulmus pollen(11%)in March;Platanus pollen(44%),Moraceae pollen(21%),Gingko pollen(14%)in April;and Pinus pollen(32%),Moraceae pollen(29%),Betula pollen(12%)in May.2.The visiting rates of patients with AR and AC in March were much higher than that in April and May,and there were statistically significant difference.CONCLUSION March is the peak visits of AR and AC in the spring of Beijing.It is speculated that sensitization ability of dominant pollen to AR and AC is higher in March compared with other months in spring. |
