| Abstract: |
Objective To understand the status quo of mental health service resources and utilization in medical institutions in Anhui Province in 2018, and provide a basis for further efforts in this regard. Methods A self-designed questionnaire was used to collect relevant data from mental health medical institutions in Anhui in 2018. Results(1) There were 79 medical institutions including 56 public and 23 private ones that offered psychological outpatient service or(and) set up psychiatric department.(2) There were in total 1 336 psychiatrists or assistant psychiatrists and 15 153 beds, with the density of 2.11 psychiatrists per 100 000 people and 2.40 beds per 10 000 people.(3) There were 1 477 879 psychiatric outpatient and psychological outpatient visits, 22 094 emergency visits, 101 638 inpatient admissions, and 108 282 patient discharges. The average hospital stay for discharged patients was 39.78(24.00, 64.60) days, and the bed utilization rate was 102.75%.Conclusion Although mental health resources in Anhui Province in 2018 have been greatly improved compared with the past, the institutions’ capacity remains inadequate to meet the social demand for mental health services. |
