Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) plays an important role in the treatment of gastrointestinal tumors.It is possible to completely resect submucosal lesions and provide sufficient pathological information,postoperative follow-up have proved its superiority. Now it has been widely used for the treatment of gastrointestinal tumor.ESD operation consists of marking,injection to elevate the lesion,pre-cutting,dissecting and wound processing.Bleeding and perforation were the most frequent complications.This review describes current advances in the treatment of gastrointestinal tumors by ESD.
