| Abstract: | Schizophrenia and bipolar disorder are two common severe mental disorders,accounting for more than half of the inpatients in psychiatric departments in China,and bring a severe burden to patients,their families and society.Although there are a variety of atypical antipsychotics that can be used to treat the two mental disorders,medications that can improve patients'symptoms in multiple dimensions and have good safety are still unmet needs in current clinical practice.Lurasidone is a new type of atypical antipsychotic that has recently entered China.It can be used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder depressive episodes overseas,but its clinical use in China has just started.Therefore,this paper will review the pharmacological characteristics,clinical efficacy and safety of lurasidone,and provide references for standardized clinical use. |
