Abstract:OBJECTIVE To compare the anti-hyperlipidemia effects between Gualou Xiebai Banxia Decoction (GXB) and Gualou Xiebai Decoction (GX), and compare their effect intensity.METHODS The lipid accumulation HepG2 cell model was induced by oleic acid, the contents of triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-c), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) and lipid were determined in HepG2 cells. The hyperlipidemia zebrafish model was established by feeding with high cholesterol diet, the contents of TG, TC, LDL-c and HDL-c were determined in zebrafish, and the accumulation of cholesterol in zebrafish blood vessels was observed.RESULTS Compared with the model group, GXB and GX could significantly reduce the contents of TG, TC, LDL-c and lipid, and increase the content of HDL-c in HepG2 cells (P<0.05). GXB and GX could significantly reduce the contents of TG, TC and LDL-c, increase the content of HDL-c in zebrafish, and inhibit the accumulation of cholesterol in zebrafish blood vessels (P<0.05). In addition, the effect intensity of GXB was better than that of GX at the same dose level.CONCLUSION GXB and GX have good anti-hyperlipidemia pharmacological effects through regulating lipid level and inhibiting the accumulation of lipid. The anti-hyperlipidemia activity of GXB is increased by Banxia, which is better than that of GX. The study provides theoretical basis for the clinical application in the prevention and treatment of hyperlipidemia and the development of highly effective and targeted new anti-hyperlipidemia drugs.
