| Abstract: | The prevalence of antibiotic resistance and conjugative R plasmids in 225 strains of E. Coli isolated from healthy people in Changchun during 1983,5-1984,5 was reported.One hundred and seventy-six strains (78.2%) were single or multiple antibiotic-resistant to SM, TC,CM and AP. The incidence of strains resistant to more than two antibiotics was 30.7% (54/176). Resistance patterns were shown in 17 forms. The strains tested were all sensitive to GM. The average percentage of resistant strains carrying conjugative R plasmids was 69.3% (54/176).The detection rate of multiple (more than two antibiotics) conjugative R plasmids in E. Coli strains was 90.7% (49/54) , whereas the detection rate of conjugative R plasmids carrying single or two antibiotic resistance markers was 59.8% (73/122) . Frequency of detection of conjugative R plasmids with SM-resistance marker was the highest, being 81.5% (110/135) . None of R plasmids was found in 30 strains of E. Coli resistant to CM. |
