Clinical application of TCT with biopsyby vaginoscopy in screening cervical lesions

Objective：To assess the value of ThinPrep Liquid-based Cytology Test（TCT） with colposcopy in screening cervical lesions.Methods：A total of 3 897 cases at People′s Hospital of MeiShan in SiChuang were examined with TCT,and patients with positive cytology were examined by colposcopy biopsy from January 2008 to December 2009.The samples of atypical squamous cells（ASCUS） and more severe lesions were classified into positive cytology,and then cytological results were compared with pathological examination results of cervical biopsies.Results：There were 299 cases（7.67%） with positive cytological results,including 87（2.23%）ASCUS cases,153（3.93%）LSIL cases,52（1.33%）HSIL cases,6（0.15%）SCC cases,and 1（0.026%）ACC case.While pathological examination results showed 32.18% CIN cases in ASCUS cases,84.31% CIN among the LSIL cases,and 96.15% CIN among the HSIL cases.Conclusions：Combined diagnosis method with TCT and colposcopy biopsy is effective in screening cervical lesions.
