Effect of acupuncture in auxiliary treatment of the refractory insomnia

Objective： To explore the efficacy and safety of acupuncture in auxiliary treatment of the refractory insomnia.Methods： All 100 patients with refractory insomnia were randomly assigned toobservation group and control group by half.All cases were treated with lorazepam and doxepin combining withIieyu′anshen particles.And the psychotherapy was given to patients of two groups.In addition,the patients in the observation group received a treatment of acupuncture for 8 weeks.The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index（PSQI） and Treatment Emergent Side effect Scale（TESS） were used to evaluate the efficacy and adverse effect, respectively. Results~ In the 4th and Sth weekend after treatment, the rates of cure and marked improvement in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group（P 〈0.05）.
