Clinical comparative study of two methods of nasal vestibular cyst surgery:the excision and the uncover method

Objective To study two methods of nasal vestibular cyst surgery：the excision and the uncover method,explore the difference between them.Methods 223 patients with nasal vestibular cyst were randomly divided into two groups：111 in the study group and 112 in the control group who were respectively performed excision or uncover surgery on,observed the operate time,blood-loss,relapse rate,the edema and numbness of epichilium in 2-year follow-up.Results It cost mean（31.2±13.8）minutes and（18.1±4.5）ml blood in control group compare with mean（12.6±2.1）minutes and（4.8±2.3）ml blood in study group（P〈0.01）.There was 1 case＇ relaps in the study group compare with 9 cases＇ relapse in the control group（P〈0.01）.The were 7 numbed epichilium and 8 tumefied epichilium while none did the uncover method（P〈0.01）.All patients in study group,except 1 case who recrudesced,recovered normal nasal vestibular form in 3～6 monthes.Conclusion The excision and the uncover method are believed to be two main treatment for nasal vestibular cyst.Our study suggested that the uncover method is more effective with such advantages as less trauma,less relapse and quicker healing,and should be widely used.
