Ultrasonographic Study of the Vetrebral Artery's Blood Flow in Patients with Takayasu Arteritis

Objective：To investigate the vetrebral artery’s blood flow change in patients with Takayasu arteritis.Method：GE Vivid7 computed sonography,2.0-7.0MHz transducer frequency were used for routine examination in 30 patients with Takayasu arteritis（the study group）and in 30 cases who age-matched healthy persons.Measured 2-dimensional and doppler flow indexes by CDFI in the two groups.Result：The morphologic constructions of the vessels and indexes of color doppler flow in study group were more different from those in control group.All of walls of carotid arteritis in study group have thickness and CDFI of these patients had vascular stenosis.Among them,there were 11 common carotid,6 subclavian and 13 cases with both of the above two types.The thickness of the involved artery wall was stenosed or occluded.The affected vertebral arterial systolic velocity decreased in patients with subclavian arterial severe stenosis and occlusion when compared with patients with mild-to-moderate stenosis,and further decreased in patients with subclavian arterial occlusion.There was significant difference between two groups（P〈0.05）.Conclusion：The involvement extent of subclavian artery stenosis can be reflected by the features of doppler spectrum and systolic velocity of affected vertebral artery in paients with Takayasu arteritis.
