| 摘 要： | Valiriana Jatamansi(VJ),a Chinese herb wasfound effective against rotavirus enteritis in clinicalpractice.Animal experiments carried out by theInstitute of Medical Biology in Kunming have alsodemonstrated the efficacy of VJ.From December 22,1982 to January 4,1983,102 patients with rotavirus enteritis were admittedto our hospital.Of these 74 cases were randomlydivided into 3 groups:Group A(46 cases),GroupB(12 cases) and Group C(16 cases).In group A,the VJ-treated group,the drug was given orally ata dosage of 5 ml every 6 hrs for patients under 1year;10 ml every 6 hrs to patients over 1 year.Ingroup B,the control group,a solution of vitaminsBoo.and C was given orally.In group C,the West.ern medicine treated group,Gentamycin or SMZwas given in common dosage.Groups A and C werealso given the vitamins Bco.and C orally as in groupB.Patients with water and electrolyte disturbancein all groups received fluid therapy as indicated.Within 72 hours of medication the rate of cessa-tion of diarrhea in groups A,B and C were 73.92%,41.67% and 56.25% respectively.The rate in groupA was considerably higher than group B.Percentagesof patients whose temperature returned to normalafter treatment in groups A,B and C were 90.64%,60%and 92.30% respectively,suggesting antipyreticeffect of VJ.
