摘    要:Penile erection, which is characterized by the relaxation of arterial and cavernous smooth muscles, is mediated by nitric oxide (NO). After its release from endothelial cells and nerve endings within the penis, NO diffuses into the smooth muscle cells and activates the soluble guanyl cyclase, which then catalyzes the conversion of GTP to cGMP1, 2].
