Mouse Embryo Outgrowth and Attachment in Vitro

A comparative study of the outgrowth and attachment of mouse embryo in several systems in vitro has been made in media containing serurn, dishes coated with defined extracellular matrix components as well as in a co-culture with uterine epithelial monolayer cells and polarized epithelial cells. The results indicated that laminin, fibronectin, metrigen and Collagen Ⅳ supported mousse embryo outgrowth and attachment in vitro. Heparin could inhibit both the embryo outgrowth and attachmnt. However, polarized epithelial cells could only prevent the embryo attachment. The mechanism of action of these molecules mediating embryo outgrowth and attachment is an interesting issue which needs further study.
