Abstract:Objective: To explore hemostatic effect and mechanisms of Stigma Maydis Polysacc haride(SMPS). Methods: Bleeding time(BT),coagulation time(CT),recalcification time(RT) were measured in mice by means of tail cutting,glass slide,recalcification method in mice.Platelet count,the prot hrombin time(PT),the active partial thromboplastin time(APTT) and fibrinogen(FIB),platelet aggregation were measured by means of blood coagulation analyzer and apparatus of platelet aggregation analyzer on rats.The effect of SMPS on fibrinolytic activity was observed by measuring the time of fibrionolysin dissolving. Results: SMPS shortened BT,CT,RT in mice and shortened APTT in rats.SMPS increased the count of Plt,aggregation ability of platelet,and had no effect on PT,FIB,abdomen capillary permeability and the time of fibrionolysin dissolving. Conclusion: The results indicate that SMPS has remarkable effect on hemostasis.Its mechanism is related to increasing platelet count,activating endogenous coagulatian system function,promoting platelet aggregation.
