A Discussion on the Opportunity and Development of Internationalization of TCM Higher Education

There is a markedly rising demand for TCM education as people worldwide are getting more inclined to returning back to nature and TCM more popular. Educational market has been rapidly growing and TCM higher education has become part of global education. A review of the foreign education in the recent years has revealed the following problems worthy of notice: the integration of experience with modern scientific criteria; the contradiction between demand for TCM foreign education and the trainees; the administration of TCM teaching; the supervision and administration of institutions running this education. In order to meet the end of internationalization of TCM higher education, strategic objectives and principles should be made. In practice cultural exchanges of all levels should be conducted, and teaching administration strengthened. Collaborative work of running of schools should be expanded, and renovation of foreign education system be made. Efforts should be devoted to the coordinating development of teaching, medical care, research, and trade.
