Solifenacin in the treatment of bladder spasm after TUR-P 20 cases

Objective] To evaluate the clinical efficacy of solifenacin in the control of bladder spasm of overactive bladder during the early stage after transurethral prostatectomy.Methods] A single-blind,controlled trial was adopted.Forty patients were randomly divided into solifenacin group and indometacin suppositories group.Solifenacin group received solifenacin(5 mg,QD) after transurethral prostatectomy.Indometacin suppositories group used indometacin suppositories in anus after transurethral prostatectomy.Results] The numbers of bladder spasm episodes,duration of bladder spasm,the time of baldder perfusion clearance,indwelling catheter delivery in solifenacin group reduced significantly as compared with indometacin suppositories group.After removal of catheter,the numbers of voids per day,mean urine volume per void,number of incontinent episodes in solifenacin group improved significantly as compared with indometacin suppositories group,P<0.05.Conclusions] Solifenacin is effective in the prevention and treatment of early post-operative bladder spasm.
